It’s the question that sets the tone. When interviewers open this way you have the ball in your court pretty quickly. You can use the opportunity to frame how they see you and convey important qualities representing your unique fit for the position. You have a chance to start your conversation by painting a picture of how you would perform—and even excel— as an associate. What will you say? This is an important question for you to have practiced. More importantly, it’s a question you should have considered as it uniquely pertains to this organization and this position. If you’re taking your job search seriously, the answer to this question likely emphasizes different qualities depending on what you know about the culture or the needs specific to this particular job. Are you ready? Telling about you should be fun; because it needs to be enjoyable to hear. Don’t assume this question was asked for a particular reason or that the interviewer is expecting a particular response. The interviewer may have a strategic reason, but it’s just as likely an icebreaker. The more interesting you are, the more memorable you will be. In addition, if you plan your response well , you may event set the stage for follow up questions that play to your strengths. Why wouldn’t you try? How you respond and what you focus on depends on your.... Read complete article at: http://blog.cvwizards.com.ng/?p=127 About Us: CV Wizards is a one-stop shop for job seekers in Nigeria. Beside grade, what else do employers lookout for? Skills, experience and attitude. So, use them to complement your certificate. |
Celebrities like Lady Gaga (approximately 28.8 million Twitter followers) and Justin Bieber (approximately 27.1 million followers) can advance their careers and gain even more notoriety with a 140 character long tweet. But can a job hunter with no followers actually use this site of very short messages to get a job? You bet. Corporate recruiters and headhunters use Twitter to search for talent every day. They post information and links to current job openings. They search by topic to see who influences any given field, and then they try to recruit them. So much in the business, government, and nonprofit sectors depends on the effective use of social media, so hiring managers expect that well-qualified candidates will be active on sites like Twitter. It is becoming ever more likely that they will check out any serious candidate’s tweets to see if they “fill the bill.” Keeping these recruiting tactics in mind, you can make Twitter an effective part of your job hunting strategy. You don’t need millions (or even thousands) of followers for it to be a useful arrow in your job-hunting quiver. Here’s how: 1. Utilize Twitter’s search function to find job openings. Familiarize yourself with how to use functions like AND, OR, and NOT (known as Boolean operators) to search effectively. Also make use of hash tags (the “#” symbol). They serve, in effect, as a topic header to make a tweet easy to find. Include things like: #hiring, #job, #jobs, #careers, and other related words in your search terms. Then add into your search mix your skills, job description, and location. Here are some simple sample search queries you can adapt to your own situation: Read full article at: http://blog.cvwizards.com.ng/?p=122 About Us: CV Wizards is a one-stop shop for job seekers in Nigeria. How often have you heard something like this when you've been rejected for a job: "We found someone who we feel is a closer fit." When you know in your heart that you have all the skills, experience and education that the employer seeks, it is only natural to ask: "How can they say that I'm not a right fit?" You might reprise Tina Turner's song with modified lyrics: "What's fit got to do with it?" Using "fit" can be a fudgy kind of excuse that employers give when they don't want to risk revealing the real reason someone else beat you out for that prized opportunity. Employers aren't under any obligation to reveal the reasons that they reject any given candidate. And, they are reticent to do so lest it open them up to unwanted protracted discussion, or even to a lawsuit. "Fit," however, often really is the issue. Employers are rightly concerned these days about more than just melding a candidate's skills and a job's responsibilities. In a landmark survey, Leadership IQ determined that a shocking 46 percent of newly hired employees will fail within 18 months, and that technical competence was only related to 11 percent of those failures. Mark Murphy, CEO of Leadership IQ, contends that the managers who fared significantly better than their peers in their hiring decisions focused their emphasis on interpersonal and motivational issues. The survey suggests that the key elements of fit that make for long-term employee success include "coachability," emotional intelligence (or "the ability to understand and manage one's own emotions, and accurately assess others' emotions" ), motivation, and temperament, which includes one's attitude and personality. So what is a job hunter to do? 1. Search for a great fit, not just a great job. While the need for an immediate paycheck can be very real and pressing, remember that signing on now to a job with a poor fit can be very costly for you later on. Each time you apply for a job you'll likely have to explain all the transitions from one company to the next on your resume. If at all possible, you want to avoid in future job hunts having to explain why the job you take now just didn't work out. Even if you're successful in obtaining and taking an ill-fitting job now and becoming one of those 48 percent who fail within the first 18 months, you can create a red flag in your own future. 2. Look for companies that fit your personality and work style. Rather than randomly applying to a large number of jobs at many companies, look beyond job descriptions. Slow down and take the time to learn something about each company to which you want to apply. What do current and former employees say about its corporate culture? Does the company encourage teamwork and camaraderie, or is it every person for him/herself? It is a company that cares about its employees enough to have mentoring programs, and are you open to them? Are managers hard to access, likely to be available when you need them, or are they ever-present micro-managing one's every movement? Which management style do you need to be successful? Learn about these and other fit issues on sites like Glassdoor.com, Vault.com, etc. 3. Use your interview to demonstrate your fit. You can do this in a couple of different ways if you're well prepared. First, weave in things that demonstrate your fit into your interview. For example, if you know that a company wants to mold their employees through mentoring, you might talk about how much you appreciated being mentored in some past experience and how it helped you to grow professionally. This can be especially powerful if you can use it in answering a question, "Tell me about an area of your weakness." Second, if you haven't had an opportunity to weave your fit stories into the early part of an interview, use your research when you ask your own questions at the end. You might pose something like: "I thrive in an environment where [fill in the blank with something about yourself that matches with the company's culture]. If I were to work here, is that what I would likely experience?" Sometimes fit really is a wimpy excuse used in rejection letters. Yet, if you can demonstrate your fit for a role in addition to showing that you have the right skill set and experience, you increase your chances of hearing: "We think that you would make a great addition to our company, and would like you to start within the next two weeks." Most companies look beyond an applicant's grade. That means you still have a chance with a third class degree, but you must give them a reason to overlook your poor grade. |
Note: If you graduated with a poor grade, it's wise not to include your class of degree on your CV. |

• Applying directly to job postings should represent no more than 20% of what you do. Getting referred to a job is 5-10X more effective than applying directly. If you’re going to apply, only apply to jobs when you’re a perfect fit for the skills and experience listed on the job description. • Leverage your understanding of the recruiter’s role. Many recruiters are gatekeepers who don’t know the job and will just box-check your skills and experiences. Others are extremely talented, who want to work with the best people to craft great career moves. You must avoid the former and seek out the latter. • Implement a 20/20/60 job-hunting plan. A job hunting plan requires a performance-based resume, an understanding of how recruiters find candidates, and applying through the backdoor. Networking is the key to the backdoor. It must represent 60% of what you need to do. Read complete article at: http://blog.cvwizards.com.ng/?p=163 About Us: CV Wizards is a one-stop shop for job seekers in Nigeria. Years ago, people did not consider personal branding important. Some didn’t even know the term. However, today, you get about 2.5 million results if you Google “Personal branding”. Many people still believe that personal branding is never more important than your organization’s branding. It is true only if you are talking about companies like Nestle or Coca Cola. On the other hand, if you own a small company, personal branding and company branding are considered the same thing. Your actions will, one way or the other, affect your company’s reputation. What is Personal Branding? Personal branding can be defined as a method of marketing yourself as a brand. Through this mark, you communicate your skills and abilities to build a name for yourself. This way, you develop in a network which brings you to the notices of others. It begins with launching verified skills followed by feedback from market. In simple words, personal branding can be defined as crafting your own brand to sell yourself. Why should I brand myself? Like I mentioned above, personal branding is very beneficial for you and your company. Here are some of the advantages of personal branding: • Be in command of your information Whenever potential clients or contractors search you, there is a greater chance that they will get the information you supplied. In this way, they get only those details you wanted them to have. • Your company will get dedicated clients Ever wondered how Apple suddenly got so many customers? Well, the secret lies with Steve jobs. (Not literally) The obsession with Steve jobs paved the way for the success of Apple and it acquired millions of dedicated customers. Therefore, good personal branding can earn your company a loyal clientele. • Manage your name Author of the 4-Hour Work Week, time Ferris, has rightly said, “Personal branding is about managing your name — even if you don’t own a business — in a world of misinformation, disinformation, and semi-permanent Google records. Going on a date? Chances are that your “blind” date has googled your name. Going to a job interview? Ditto.” Get, set, GO! Developing and carrying out a personal branding technique takes hard work and time. Therefore, start setting personal branding aims from right now. Here are the 3 easy steps to build a sophisticated personal brand: • Identify your brand and define it: The first step towards building a successful personal brand is to describe it. And even before this, you have to define it for yourself. It involves an outline of personal and professional life and what do you aim to attain in both of them in future. Now update all your social info according to your newly created personal brand. • Create Now select a few areas and focus upon them. Create content for them and work hard to improve it. For establishing your brand, you can create any type of content for example some articles. Moreover, you can take to twitter to launch yourself. Take part in Twitter chats with new users to grow your followers. • Gather experience Now, go ahead and gather as much experience as you can to grow in your field. You have already defined and created your brand. But all you have to do now is to keep it going well so that if any potential client comes across, your effort bears fruit. Don't Just Fall on The Couch! How many days a week do you get off? Most people get two days off in a row, and they are usually the weekend days. But not every one runs on the same schedule. I know many people who work wonky schedules that only allow for one day off before they have to go back to work. I also know many people who work from home that don't take a day off at all! When you are your own boss it can be hard to take a day away from the computer and not check in on stats, earnings, emails, and other day-to-day things. This article is going to assume that you only get one day off per week. One WHOLE day to do whatever you want without thinking about work. How do you spend that precious day off? Do you lay on the couch and watch Here Comes Honey Boo Boo? If you do, then you are missing out on moments that could be better spent. If you don't get your eyes open and watch (and participate in) your own life, then you just may miss it. Spending your free time watching other people's lives (on TV) instead of living your own is costing you minutes, hours, and possibly even years of of self-growth, laughter, and companionship with loved ones. Stop to think about that. Do you want to look back and think: Awesome, I caught all of AY's new shows in my life OR I really enjoyed myself and the people around me as much as I could. Which one sounds more fulfilling? 1. Get Out of Town! Vacations are great for re-energizing your life and connecting you back to the people and things around you. However, with one day off, you are not going to be able to head out to Maui, so get out of town and take a mini-vacation! It can offer you all the experiences of new sights, smells, and activities, but have you home within a day. 2. Spend Time With Friends Your friends are people that you chose to be friends with for various reasons. Likely because they share a lot in common with you or make you feel good. They are the people you can share, laugh, and confide in, and it is important to take some time out to spend time with them. 3. Spend Time With Family Family is there through thick and thin. They are people who have known you, in most cases, for your whole life. While they don't always offer support and confidence in your decisions, they are a connection/bond that needs nurturing once in a while. Phone your mom, visit your sister, have tea with your Aunt...make a few hours for the people who have known you longest. 4. Attend a Class - That You Want To Attend Chances are you are in a job that only utilizes a certain part of your brain. You may do the same things over and over again and, therefore, don't get to learn a whole lot of new skills. Taking a class, whether it be cooking, quilting, or French history, can help your brain to work areas that are not normally worked. Plus, you will gain some extra knowledge which benefits your life both in conversation and in awareness. 5. Schedule Some ME Time Massages, manicure, pedicures, haircuts - these are all things that make you feel good about yourself and, yes...spoiled. Buy some new clothes. Buy yourself some perfume or cologne. Buy yourself anything! Make the day, or at least a few hours, about you and your desires. It's not selfish to do so. I personally think it's a gift to your soul and happiness to think about yourself, as long as you don't lose sight of other people. 6. Get To Know Your City Whether you take a leisurely walk through a neighborhood you have never been in or visit attractions, get to know the small piece of land that you come from and call home. Treat it as if you were a tourist and really explore what your surroundings have to offer you. You will feel more connected to your home if you do. Nursing job interviews, like all job interviews, can be very stressful events, especially if you just got your first interview of your nursing career. What does a nurse manager expect? What is the appropriate attire for this position? What questions are you likely to hear? This article will provide some helpful information to help you prepare for your interview for the healthcare field. Important Tip: Pick out your clothes the night before your interview to make sure you have everything you need. Leave yourself plenty of time in the morning to get ready so you can arrive early. Dress Appropriately Clothing. When deciding what to wear for your interview, think about what you will be wearing when you work there. For RNs, LPNs, and nurse assistants, the attire will likely be scrubs. For the interview, you will need to dress more nicely than you would typically dress for the job. Dress pants and a nice collared shirt are always a good choice. Matching suit sets are also appropriate, but dressing like an executive may be over-doing it. If you choose to wear a skirt, make sure it is no shorter than an inch above your knee cap. In order for your interviewer to take you seriously, you will need to dress modestly. Keep your clothing nice but simple, avoiding flashy tops, sleeveless shirts, and short skirts. Shoes. The dress code for shoes in a hospital or healthcare setting often requires closed-toe shoes, so you should follow this same rule for your interview. Closed-toe shoes come across as more sanitary and make you look more professional. Accessories. Accessories for a nursing job interview should be kept to a minimum. Once again, think about what your dress code will be if you get the job. For many nursing jobs, dangling jewelry is not allowed. Wear simple jewelry like stud earrings and possible wedding rings. It also looks professional to wear a watch with a second hand. Healthcare jobs often require you to have a watch to check things like pulse and respiration in the patients, so wearing a watch will show that you are prepared for these things. Wearing a watch will also prevent you from using a cell phone to check the time. Keep your phone on silent mode and put it out of sight! Be Neat and Clean Clothes. Your clothes should be clean and neatly pressed for your interview. The way you show up for the interview is the way they will expect you to show up for work. For a healthcare setting, this should always mean being neat and clean. Pick out your clothes the night before your interview and make sure they are cleaned and ironed, if necessary. Hair. Many nursing jobs will require your hair to be pulled back if it is long, so you should follow these same rules for your interview. For healthcare jobs, it is more sanitary to keep hair pulled back to keep it from getting in your way while working with patients. Wearing your hair up will also make you seem more credible. Studies have shown that women who wear their hair up or have their hair short are assumed to be more successful in their career. Nails. For healthcare jobs and healthcare job interviews, keep your nails short, clean, and free of nail polish. Your facility dress code may not allow you to have long nails or wear nail polish and acrylic nails. Long nails can harbor a lot of bacteria, so they need to be short since you will likely be working with patients who have a compromised immune system. Having your nails short and clean for your interview shows that you take your job seriously and it allows the interviewer to see that you will keep them that way. Important Tip: Eye contact and a smile will show that you are confident and happy to be there! Pay Attention to Your Body Language Body language has been shown to have an even bigger impact on impression than what you say. For your interview, be sure to look at the interviewer while you talk, but do not stare. Avoid waving your hands around too much as you talk; the more you sit still and speak confidently, the more credible you will seem. Sit with your ankles crossed and your hands in your lap, and face your body directly toward the interviewer. The most important part of body language is smiling! Make sure the interviewer knows you are glad to be there and that you would love to have this position. Be Prepared for Common Questions Being prepared for common interview questions will require you to know yourself. Think about why you chose a career in healthcare, what your strengths and weaknesses are, how you fit in to a leadership situation, and how you handle conflicts. Below are some of the more tricky questions and how you can answer them appropriately: What are your long-term goals? The trick to answering this question appropriately is to let them know you have important career goals, but not that you will be moving on in a year to go back to school or find a different job. An example of a good answer for this type of question is “I am planning on gaining some experience as a nurse in an area I know I will love, such as this one. After five years or so, I will consider continuing work and going back to school part time to obtain my master’s degree.” What are your strengths and weaknesses? The trick for this question is to name a strength that will be helpful in your healthcare career. Do not tell them you have no weaknesses. Everyone has weaknesses, so the point in asking this question is to find out how you stay aware of your weakness so you can improve it. An example of a good answer for this type of question is “My greatest strength is that I pay close attention to details, especially while caring for patients. I can pick up on subtle cues that something is wrong, and I am able to assess and do something about it quickly. My weakness is that I tend to be introverted, so it takes longer for me to form relationships with my patients. I keep myself aware of this and spend more time getting to know my patients on a more personal level.” Do you have any questions for me? This is a common question that the interviewer may ask at the end of the interview. Never say “no” to this question. The biggest tip here is to do your research before the interview and find some questions you do not have the answer to. Asking questions is one of the best ways to show that you are interested in this job. Good response questions are things like “What is the typical nurse-to-patient ratio for this floor?” “What type of patients do you commonly treat?” “I love working as part of a team. Do you feel there is a good sense of teamwork among the workers at this facility?” Extra Tips One of the most important things you can do to prepare for your first healthcare interview is to know yourself: Why did you choose a career in nursing? What do you like most and least about it? Where do you see yourself in the future? How do you usually handle stressful situations? How do you deal with difficult people? What makes you a great candidate for this position? Practice discussing some of these questions with a friend or family member. Most important of all, take a deep breath and be glad to have this opportunity to speak with someone who is involved at a place where you want to work! Employers want people who will love their job and have a great attitude about being there. About Us: CV Wizards is a one-stop shop for job seekers in Nigeria. There’s this Yoruba adage that says, “What you’re looking for in Sokoto (a state in northern Nigeria) is right there in the pocket of your sokoto (trouser).” The same can be said of the secret to success. Don’t bother yourself browsing the internet or traveling from one city to another searching for the secret to a successful life, because it is right there in your bedroom. Now, look around your room. What do you see? The fan saying, "be cool" The roof saying, "aim high" The window saying, "see the world" The clock saying, "every minute is precious" The mirror saying, "reflect before you act" The calendar saying, "be up to date" The door saying, "push hard for your goals" The Rug saying, "kneel down and pray" The toilet saying, "flush the Bad habits that will deter u from becoming someone influential in life! The Bible smiling and saying, "read me for direction" If you apply these principles in everything you do, a successful life is certain. Have a wonderful day, guys. Email from a fan. “Good day CV Wizards. I very much appreciate the good work you guys are doing and I’m going to invite all my friends to like your page. Now to the issue at hand. I received an invite for an interview last Thursday. Actually, there was an advert for this position last year in this same company but I didn’t apply. This year again, I saw the same job advert and applied. Now I have been invited for an interview. It’s either the previous person was sacked or he died or he left for greener pastures. How can I find out why the position is vacant since I don’t know anybody in that company?” It’s a good idea to know why the position is vacant. At least that will help you know whether or not the job will be appealing to you, considering the fact that some employers are very difficult to work with. I suggest You wait till the interview and ask the interviewer in person. Here’s how to put your question, “Is this a new position? If not, why did the previous employee leave?” Please wait till the end of the interview before asking, so that you don’t look too curious. He may not give You all the details, but from his answer You should be able to form your opinion of the company and the position. Another alternative is to arrive the venue early and find-out from the gate man or any other staff. Friends, could you please help out here. TrollMan:That's not true you know. I have seen third class graduates secure better jobs than their counterparts with first class. The thing is, they should not be so dull to the extent of including it on their CV. If they do, they're most likely not going to be shortlisted for an interview. |
This question is from one of our Facebook fans, Olamide. "I've been searching for a job for over two years now but I've not been successful. Is there anything I'm doing wrong?" Answer: You may not be doing anything "wrong" but could be doing things ineffectively. Start by reviewing your CV. Does it look professional? Does it do a good job of marketing you to potential employers? Next, how effective is your job search? Are you only responding to job postings? Do you have an organized system of cold calling and follow-ups with local employers? Do you network effectively? What does the local labour market looks like for jobs in your career field? What other related jobs have you considered? If you're finding it difficult securing a particular kind of job, why not diversify to something different. At least, you'll be gaining some experience which will be an edge to you when there's opening for your desired job. We also recommend you build your confidence and sharpen your interview skills. KAYCEEJUNIOR:Of course, there's no harm in doing that. |
The main differences between a resume and a CV are length, content and use. A resume is shorter, maximum of 3 pages. That’s because a CV is more detailed and comprehensive. A resume contains just about 5 to 6 sections. Namely; Name and contact (physical address, email and telephone no), profile/ objective/ Summary, educational qualification, work history and professional affiliation. While a CV includes a summary of your educational and academic backgrounds as well as teaching and research experience, publications, presentations, awards, honors, affiliations and other details. A CV is used primarily when applying for academic, education, scientific or research positions. It is also applicable when applying for fellowships or grants. Every other kind of job application requires a resume and not a CV. A cover letter is different from these two documents above. It’s usually a 1-page document accompanying a resume, which purpose is to indicate interest in a job position, provide additional details that are not included on a resume and market the applicant’s skills. Got this question from one of our Facebook fans. “Beautiful morning CV Wizards. Please with 2.39 which is pass in a polytechnic system, would it be possible for me to get a job without connection? What are my chances of being employed?” To be candid, It’s going to be very tough for you out there considering the fact that you’ll be competing with a lot of Distinction and Upper Credit graduates. Not to mention University graduates. I advice you apply to the University through direct entry to cover your deficiency. But you must sit up. University education is more tasking than Polytechnic education. I’m saying from personal experience because I’ve experienced both levels of education. If You think that would be difficult, you may consider the other option which is to hit the job market. If you opt for this, then You must; 1. Work on your psyche or mindset to get rid of any form of inferiority complex associated with your grade. 2. Work on your communication skills (verbal and written). You can achieve that by reading books, watching English movies, taking note of strange words, checking them up in the dictionary for the correct spelling, pronunciation and usage. Avoid vernacular and pidgin English. 3. Acquire a Masters Degree through PGD and/ or professional certification. 4. Know the practical side of your profession. A lower grade/class of degree or diploma means you didn’t perform well theoretically. Since every profession has got a practical and theoretical aspect, there is good news for You. Only if You’ll swallow your pride, now is the best time for You to gain practical knowledge which will give You an edge over other candidates with excellent results. For instance, if you read Electrical Engineering, go and learn from the man at the road side. 5. Network: Make friends with people who know people in position to help. E.g. You may not have access to the CEO of a company. But You may know someone who knows him. You can approach that person and ask him/her to connect you to the CEO. When You eventually gain access to the decision makers, tell them what you can offer, and I believe they’ll give you a listening ear. Good luck. If you’ve just graduated and are looking for work a great idea is to get into an industry that’s rapidly expanding. The online and mobile casino industry is growing fast and the demand for employees grows on a daily basis. It’s not only developers and designers that are needed for this industry, customer service representatives, call centre agents and other positions are opening up and if you wish to study design or development you might want to consider any position that will help you get a foot in the door. If you want to enter the industry and need some advice about making a memorable impression follow these tips to get on the right track. Be prepared When you enter the interview room go with a clear head and concise knowledge not only of the position you are applying for, but also about the company you hope to work for. Your resume has already earned you an interview, now you need to express your genuine interest in working for the company, and you can do this by showing that you know a bit of their background and what their core business involves. Elaborate on your skill set Your resume may have listed your skills but for example, if you are applying for a position to support gamers who make use of various platforms, explain to your interviewers that you have experience in the practical side of the position. So, if you are applying for a position at an iPad Casino company make sure your interviewers know that you are able to operate the mobile device and are familiar with the games on offer. Know why you want the job The overriding reason most of us seek gainful employment is because of the salary; however this is not the correct answer when the question is posed. Try and offer an answer that’s industry related and focuses on the potential you have to offer and explain why your skills and attributes will make you a valued addition. Be enthusiastic about wanting to work for the company and ensure that the impression you create is one of eagerness and positivity. These tips can take you from an interview to employment and help get you on the first rung of a career ladder that could lead to many years of enjoyable employment. Today’s Question is from Anderson. Friends, could you please help out here. Besides asking the interviewer, what other means can be of help? |
Op, you've been duped. I hope you've learnt from this experience. |

Today’s question is from Mohammed. "As an applicant, how will you answer this question in an interview : explain your CV to us." Permit me to refer you to an article by Jun Loayza – Interview Tips: “Walk me through your resume” This is one of the first questions that interviewers ask and one of the easiest to fail at. Talk about each section of your resume in a linear, clear, enthusiastic way. Do not go overly in-depth into any one item, but do not remain too superficial either. Touch on your academic, professional, leadership, technical, and personal qualifications, concluding with a statement about why these experiences are important for your industry. Don’t let the wording of this question limit your response. Every candidate will have experience and leadership positions. What sets someone apart is a unique personality and interests. An interviewer ultimately wants to know if you are a good cultural fit for the company. Let your personality shine through and talk about the things you do outside of school and work. The goal is to develop a 360-degree profile of yourself that shows why you would create value for the firm and why you are an attractive candidate for the position. Key Points Know your resume intimately—be prepared to answer this question without glancing. Have at least two stories prepared for each item on your resume that capture what you did and how you did it. Keep your answer within 2 minutes. Approach 1. Begin with your academics. Give your year and major, and explain why you chose your department, how it relates to your life, and how it relates to a career with this company. Name any academic honors you received. 2. Speak about your professional experiences, starting with your most relevant one. Highlight only one thing about each job position that represents the most value to the company. Share the one or two lessons or qualifications you received from each item. 3. Discuss your leadership positions outside of your professional activities. Explain why you chose to participate in this organization and what drove you to your leadership position. Speak about the positive difference that you made for the organization and what you learned about yourself. Highlight only one thing about each leadership position that you are most proud of, and that brought the most value to the organization. Do not skip any of your experiences. If the experience is listed on your resume, it should be one that you are proud of and that taught you a valuable lesson about yourself and your career. Explain how the leadership role applies and prepares you for a career with the company your interviewing with. 4. Touch on your technical skills. A portion of this answer has to address your basic skills, including computer proficiency and languages. 5. Speak about your interests, awards, and passions in life. This is the part of your response that makes you a person—not just a candidate. You and your interviewer might find that you have similar interests, which is the best way to establish a personal relationship. Interests are a way to anchor you in the mind of the interviewer. On your follow up email, you can speak about the common ground you two share. Pitfalls You Must Avoid Do not begin to talk and talk endlessly about one particular experience. This question is designed to be answered in a clear and concise format. The interviewer only wants to hear the most important part of each of your experiences. Do not leave out your interests. Even if your interest is something as simple as “food”, you should list “cooking” as your interest. You may find that you and your interviewer share a passion for gastronomy, which is a great way to establish a meaningful relationship. Did you find the information helpful? |

However, for entry level analyst position You’ll require a Bachelors Degree in a Banking related course (Accounting, Banking & Finance, Business Administration, Economics etc.).
