I won't pretend to know what you are going thru, but I must tell you its not yet time for your you to give up. Most of the people you see today with good jobs did not all start big. All you just need do is to keep going.

Concerning job search, I suggest you need to be more strategic about it. By this, I mean u don't just need to carry Cv and start perambulating the whole lagos.

Rather, you should know the sector you in which you searching for the job, do a google search of companies in such sector of the economy and pen down their office address, email address and website as well. Having done this, you should send ur cv to their emails and if possible upload ur cv to the career page on their website.

Then you can proceed to the street armed with address of such companies where you can drop the hard copies of your cv. In doing this, you need to be friendly with security operatives, receptionist and other gatekeepers as you need their help if you resume will ever get to the management. Also be friendly with fellow job seekers too because they might get info about a job other than the one u applied for, once u are in communication with them it is easy for them to share such info with you.(Believe me, this works fine I got a job offer tru an info which was shared by a fellow job seeker we met at an interview)

You may argue that will be an expensive venture, going all about lagos on a meagre budget dropping CV's , However just like I said be strategic. Group the address of all companies within the same axis and follow that tru for a day, do same for companies in order axis and you will be fine.

Lastly, put your hope in the God you pray to , and don't be despaired. You are getting their, great people always have challenges

Thank you very much. This will help a lot

As I write this now my heart is heavy. I am a graduate who have completed the "compulsory youth service". I passed out with a big smile on my face thinking life was going to be easy after that but it wasn't so.

I got a teaching job almost immediately and I was so happy and became the envy of my mates. Months passed and I noticed that the school wasn't what I expected. We were mandated to pay absurd levies for any and everything. I fought against it but noticed that the teachers that have been there before me had already taken it as their fate so I had no choice than to follow suite.

Fast forward to this year, it has been hell in the school. I forgot to mention that the school is owned by a pastor he didn't find anything wrong in owing his staff for two months now and counting. The frustrating thing is that he keeps quoting the scriptures telling us to have faith while his children are in private universities.

In this present economy, he pays 22,000 as salary and still finds it difficult to pay. Summer lessons has ended and we all went to him expecting to be paid but we got the shock of our lives. This same man gave each staff 1,000 and asked us to have faith that things we get better.

I can't express how I feel now. If I leave the school, what happens to the months I worked for. I am so confused and tired. I don't know my way around Lagos so walking around looking for a job without any destination is scary for me.

How I have been coping is simply by the grace of God. I will be grateful if nairalanders can help me with addresses of offices where I can drop my cv.

Please forgive any typographical error I must have made
