If Obi goes solo in 2027, he will have less votes than he did in 2023. Every other region plays politics to win but it seems the Southeast plays just to prove a point. A Northerner was Vice to Obasanjo in 1999 and the North became President. A Southsoutherner was Vice to Yar'adua and the Southsouth became President. A Southwesterner was Vice to Buhari and the Southwest is currently President. A Northerner is now Vice to Tinubu and one doesn't even need to be a prophet to know power will be heading North. Being a VP is not subservience, it's strategy.

If Obi loses ADC primary election he cannot contest another primary election in another party within the same electoral season (2027) but he can still contest the presidential election.
The only thing is that he's not going to contest primary in another party.
If a presidential candidate who contest and won the primary election of another party, say LP withdraw from the race, the party can pick Obi as he's replacement without Obi going through primary and that's what Datti is planning to do in LP.
