Amahjosh: Congrats. Was it a masters program. I am scared of visual refusal. I got an admit for PGD,couldn't apply for direct masters because of my low cgpa 3.24 out of 5. Yes it was. I'm not really an expert on this but from what I've seen so far on this forum, alot of people with PGD have also gotten approval. Although I think some schools accept a 2:2 depending on some factors. I stand to be corrected tho. I think more capable people can say more about it. |

Finally I get to say my own!! APPROVAL ALERT!!!! I am so excited! Affidavit of sponsorship from my sponsor and Co-sponsor Birth certificate Waec certificate BSc cert. & transcript (2018) SOP Admission letter Didn't really see the point of the police certificate thingy, so I didn't do it. I don't even know how to thank God that will be enough to express how grateful I am. I was getting crazy waiting . It even made it worse that I wasn't working so I was checking my portal like 3 times a day for some days After I submitted, I was always worried about every little thing! Trust me when I say every LITTLE thing. But at a point; I don't really know when it happened, I finally had complete and utter faith (began to form my approval timeline in my head ) All in all, whether you feel your application is perfect or you feel you might have made a mistake some where; Trust that you have a living God. For those that genuinely wanted to study and had their visa delayed, just trust God completely that he has a plan and have the the best in mind for his children. At the end of the end of the day, it's not how far (or who got there the fastest) but how well. Lemme stop ranting now ☺️ I really thank every single one of you (especially senatorkolade and frankrobbn1), because y'all definitely helped in one way or the other. |

I'm genuinely so happy for you! Congrats bro! God is just wonderful and you also had the strength and perseverance not to give up. This is just the beginning of your miracles. sleekysoft: TRV JOURNEY ——(not the Full gist cos e long)
This would be my first longest post on NL and I am doing this to bless someone.. I joined the Canada visa thread around middle of 2016, after my father friend suggested I comeback to Canada via advance diploma at MuN..Due to my curiously nature, I started searching Info and stumbled on nairaland I read from Part 1 to Part 13 ( or there about then ) . I started looking for admission( I have a bachelor of Agriculture- 3.0 overall cgpa). Agriculture is usually( usually I say) research based cos of the nature of Moreno practicals than class work. Googled schools of Msc agriculture related and got 5 which include do Dalhouise, Uni of Manitoba, Uni of Alberta, Uni of Saskatchewan and MUn.. I wrote almost 50 research supervisor in 2016 and I got the no space response.. Guess what MUn that was the least preferred school was were I got a response from a Dr who asked me apply to graduate school and indicate my interest in working with him. Now here is The wahala( lol) I applied for fall 2017 around November 2016 and guess what o wasn’t given admission. I literally call and emailed my proposed supervisor and he said he is yet to decide on my file( cos he had experience with 9ja student and visa wahala as it take some time for the most getting visa) .. he told me over the phone that he is interested in working with me cos of my persistence. Told me to contact the graduate studies and tell them to shift my admissions to winter 2018, I did it and was approved free of charge. I spoke to my supervisor on phone, we chatted on Whatzapp like buddies.. as of October he called me to informing no of inability to get funding for me due to my low cgpa but cos he promised me admission. I have to prove I can pay my tuition and living expenses. Omo I gree straight( he asked don’t SOA to prove as Africans- 9jas will come to Canada and leave school claiming no money)
November 16, 2017, supervisor called me casually asking me if I would love to work with a research topic etc I was saying YES, YES me that want to enter Canada. This man spoke to me like my GEe and my father after the whole talk he said he hasn’t approved my admission and wouldn’t get it by the week. boom it happened.. TRV application started March 13 paper route not a nice experience and boom refusal April 13.. I can’t cry.. I was on the forum since 2016 I have seen approval why my own go different.. is ok I manned up ordered gcms note.. During my TRV heartbreak I met Josejonn( God bless you ) and Frankrobben ( you seen a brother I never had but still have).. the Race to reapplication started. my Gcms not arrived no genuine reason, VO wasn’t convinced enough. So SoP to the resecue. I wrote 4 pages SOP and 2 pages of LOE( proof read by Josejonn, Frankrobben and myself).
2nd application- Saturday June 16, the race and wait began.. July came, August came( eligibility review started) oya medical drop e nor drop, sept came( spoke to frank and took the bull by the horn as I went for medical sept 3 at children’s practice omo I was scared oo come see me dey shiver when I Hear HIv, syphillis etc. After medical trouble started medical was updated as passed 2 weeks after to passed) , October people started seeing approval( I was like God what did I do? You did admission you must do visa. Fasting and prayer, seed sowing, vows, omo I close to God like never before - see Ehn God is a mighty one, reading bible verses and saying them to myself . His ways are not mans ways).. during October and November period, I met ibbond, Austacus you two I won’t need trade y’all for anything we meet in Canada, these guys are angels on earth
The November, December and January drew me closer to God thanks to visa.. I learn about faith and positive mindset, there were times I gave up and lost up( at some point a dude posted approval who didn’t sound like a believer and I am like God me I Am serving you and I am here now) . Infact I printed a Canadian visa page use pen to write my name pasted it on the wall and stared at it everytime, I dreamt Canada, I read Canada And here I am PPR Visa application made me know God in different ways, that is why I can say God ways isnt mans way. I stocked no to my guts even when the apply to other country startedc Canada was mine. I applied to other country cos the advice was too much..
To people we chatted and I didn’t now mention names I am sorry, to those who trusted me to interpret their gcms note , thanks.. to those who listened .. thanks
NOW I CAN NOW GIVE a stake ON ANYTHING RELATED TO CANADA STUDIES AND TRV. I no be guru..
I will be back with list of documents that I submitted
Na joy no make me commitment grammatical error |

Don't normally comment but that was so nice of thoughtful of you both. God bless! TheCongo2: Student Landing Gist
Happy new year everyone.
Today January 1st 2019, I received a call from @Naijaforeigner who told me a nairalander would be landing at the London International Airport at noon. The guest was arriving from Lagos via Toronto and was coming to Canada to do his master at Western University. @Naijaforeigner asked me if we could go to pick him at the London International Airport. After checking with "mrs TheCongo2", there was no objection. However, mrs asked me that I should give the kids their baths before going out of the house . And this was done promptly.
I left my house to pick up @Naijaforeigner and then we were on the way to the Airport. London International Airport is small with only one terminal. The flight from Toronto to London can take about 30 minutes whereas the road would take 2 hours. It was 10 minutes past noon when we arrived at the aiport and our guest was already there. His flight had landed at noon. He didn't have to go through the immigration process in London given that he had done that in Toronto. Given that he was coming to Canada on student visa, he was given the work permit at the immigration in Toronto. Foreign students are authorized to work ON and OFF campus in Canada while enrolled in school.
Our guest didn't have the time to wait for his SIN number application to be processed in Toronto because he had to catch his connecting flight to London. So, he decided that he will apply for his SIN card in London. Given that January 1st is a holiday, all businesses were closed. Therefore, we couldn't assist our guest with the process of applying for his SIN number nor open his bank account nor getting a cellphone. He would wait for the next business day.
Our guest intention was to stay at the hotel for 3 days before getting an appartment. However, before our guest arrived, @Naijaforeigner had already called around some landlords in the vicinity of Western University. Naijaforeigner knows the challenge of getting accommodation in London given that he himself had arrived in Canada 3 weeks ago on student visa. Therefore, he wanted to use his experience to help new comers.
After we left the aiport with our guest, we went straight to visit the first house and we were welcome by the landlord. This man was very friendly and welcoming. The house had 5 bedroooms and 2 of the rooms were unocupied. All the other tenants are student from Western University. This place was also within a walking distance from Western University. One of the rooms was shown to our guest. It was furnished. The landlord told our guest that he could move in right away by only paying the first month rent. There was no need for a lease nor a downplayment. And he could move out anytime he wanted. I personnaly like the place but our guest didn't seem too enthusistic about taking it. Our guest wanted to visit the other places before making his final decision. We told the landlord that we will get back to him and left the place.
We drove off to visit the next house in a new and very nice neighborhood. We were welcome by the friendliest elderly couple. This couple was white. In fact all the landlord we saw today and the tenants were white. The elderly couple live alone in a 2 level house. When we walked into the house, the couple ushered us to the lower lever of the house which was the basement. They were renting their basement which was furnished. The basement had a bedroom, a bathroom, a living room set but no kitchen. We all loved this place. But, there was a downside. No cooking. If our guest had to take that place, he wasn't going to be cooking in the house. At this our guest turned off this place given that it would be too expensive to start buying food from restaurants every day. On our way out from the house, I noticed 2 books by John Grisham on a table. I screemed "Who is reading John Grisham". The wife pointing the finger to the husband "He is the one reading them". I told them how John Grisham is my favor author. Then the husband gave me a book by a different author and told me "Take this one and read it, I am sure you will like him as well". Wow ... I marvelled ... I got a free book from this couple.
We drove off again to view another place. This new place was a 4 bedrooms house. The landlord was expecting our visit and he was on site. All the tenants were also students at Western University. After viewing this new place, our guest was satisfied that this was the place he was going to take. The landlord told him that he can move in right away if he wanted to. However, our guest explained to the landlord that he was going to stay at the hotel at least for one day and would move in the next day. He provided his email address to the landlord so that the landlord can send him the lease to sign.
Then, we drove off to the hotel. The hotel name was "Guest House on the Mount". Our guest paid for his stay with his nigerian credit card. He was assigned a room. It was almost 3 pm when we got into our guest's room, almost 3 hours after he had landed in London. We seated down and started to chat. Our guest said that he didn't like London from what he had seen so far. He was disappointed with London. Suddenly, I received a call from "mrs TheCongo2" with the majestic "Where are you?" I told her that we had just got to the hotel and I was ready to be heading back home.
By this time, our guest remembered that he hadn't eaten. He was hungry. @Naijaforeigner was invited to a nigerian party. So he decided to take our guest with him so that he can eat nigerian food. To get to the party, we had to drive from the Northern part of the City of London to the Southern part by passing through downtown London. OMG... our guest's mind about London changed as we were driving through the city. He found that London Ontario was extremely beautiful and he loved it. He felt like he will enjoy his stay in London, Ontario. |

Sorry about that. I don't really have much faith in agencies but they're some things you should consider first : Have you found out if the university has a refund policy? If yes, have you considered the information needed from the student to facilitate a refund? At the end of the day, you might realise that the login details to the portal might not be needed. Leave the agency alone first. They're probably just being stubborn. You email the school first and take it one at a time. You should have even have some information you can use on your own as proof like maybe student id number, tuition payment receipt... Some along those lines. The funny thing the agency doesn't know is that whether they're right or wrong about the whole thing, no body that hears this will ever want to use them. They should have offered assistance no matter how little. sopho: URGENT UPDATE PLEASE KINDLY READ THROUGH..
Hello Nairalanders. I want to call the attention of everyone here . I once posted what I have been suffering from the hands of the Agency that I simply contracted to take care of my application. This is simply a monumental show of shame and greed. I am pressing demands to have access to my CIC online application for Canada Study Permit. At some point I got vexed because of the undeserving treats I got from this Agency. Sometimes you call their number they won’t pick. It appears as if I was bugging them with my calls and sometimes instead they will tell me to send a mail.In my life I have never been humiliated or treated the way I was treated by this Agency. But I was calm and patient because I was determined to see the end of it and on the 27th of November the Agency forwarded me a mail from CIC which contained the refusal reasons and I posted it here that finally the visa has been denied. I believe that login details should be a rightful entitlement entitlement of whomesomever that applies for a study permit via the online route. But in my case is has become a sacrilege that I am requesting for it even after the VISA has been denied. They never granted me access to this till my visa was denied on the 27th of November which I also posted on this thread. Today I also got a letter from the Agency (KEYSTYLE LEARNING) that I am threatening them. To be honest I do not trust them anymore because of the way everything is playing out and since it has surfaced to this level I am prepared to go to any length with this Agency . So now my visa has been denied and I am rightly requesting that they grant me access to contact my school to applly for the refund of my tuition fee I paid directly from my bank since the agency has been the one contacting the school on my behalf since July .These their attitude goes a long way to demonstrate that something is hidden. So I do not have right to also ask them to grant give me the online access to contact the school that I paid my tuition fee to refund my money? ... Please I want everybody to look into this matter and tell me where I have gone wrong.
I am ready for this WAR which they have waged against me and I am going to fight it to the finish. This is my 2Million Naira that is involved . It’s my hard earned money I paid directly from my bank to school and now that I need the agency to grant me access to ask for refund they are keeping deaf ears. The wickedness of man is too much in this country. |

Just be patient. I think I applied July 4th or so. Then they offered me admission around mid November. I sent an email to them asking what's up n all that. (not to admissions in general but to my department) JustMellow: Is there any prospective Masters student that applied to Manitoba University? I applied since middle of May but still no single update rather "application under review by the department for 5 months and some days now.
All my emails sent to them tends to be generic response. |

Then see if they have your desired course of study. Before you start the application look through the list of requirements and if its postgraduate I feel it might increase your chances of getting admitted if you have a supervisor before you apply. It's not necessary though. |

Senatorkolade: Solidify your SOP with reasonable reasons why you want to study the program in Canada and not Nigeria. Also, highlight the economic and social benefits you and your country would gain after completing your program. Demonstrate the lucrativeness of your program in Nigeria. If your internship is related to your program, highlight those skills you have acquired and how the proposed program would boost the skills you have acquired. Then make your home tie strong. Explain the mother-son bond between you and your mother and how your coming back to Nigeria after your program is sacrosanct. Thank you so much, I'll do that. Yes my internship was in an FMCG company so I'll try and link it to my reason for the choice of course I'm studying. |
