RomanceWomen's Greatest Weapon Over Men; Sitting On A Man by cyrux(op):
It is easy to think in today's world that sexual appeal is a woman's greatest weapon over a man however, while this might control certain men, it works best in households and has little to do with affecting national issues. History has proven that there is a more potent weapon especially when married men and men in power are concerned. This weapon was popularized by the Igbo women when they employed it during the colonial era to end oppressive policies and force politicians and men with guns to run.

Sitting on a Man
When men enact policies and refuse listening to their women, or situations when a man maltreats his wife, the women band together to "war on the man". This became known as "Siting on a Man".

What it basically involves are activities that constantly keeps the man uncomfortable in both his household and in public places. The activities these women will embark on will call more than the wanted negative attention to a man and his family, belittling his struggles as a man before his family, his peers and the public which will then result in scrutiny and ostracism from social interaction and institutions thereby forcing him to reconsider his actions or stance on a particular issue.

These activities includes painting their faces with charcoal and carrying sticks wreathed with Palm fronds, singing and dancing around the homes and offices of the men in question and invading their person space. They'll beat the walls of his home with yam pestles and occasionally tear the roof off his hut, throwing pellets and other items at his hut, including striking and boycotting functions.

It became a thing of record in late October, 1929 when the Women led by Nwanyeruwa employed this tactic to force the British Authority to remove the Warrant Chiefs they had previously installed to govern the people and on some occasions imprisoned them. It also led to the issuance of an official assurance exempting women from paying taxes when they surprised the Warrant Chief by sitting outside the district office for several days.

Its effect was great because while the women did this to the men in question publicly, the wives of this men became uncomfortable and had to carry the grievances of the women outside into their homes and demanded from their husbands to pay attention to the concerns of the community women.

These concerted efforts are no longer found in today's society as the Mikiri societies were demonized as pagan by the British Missionaries thereby taking away the power of women to feel safe to speak up in forums of their own. This relegated their powers in politics as the Colonial missionaries taught them that it was more important to be good Christian wives.

These acts however has not been totally lost. It is still found in subtle forms in homes and relationships when wives and girlfriends refuse to talk to their husbands or boyfriends and/or boycott some conjugal obligations just to get the man to listen or see things their way.

EducationUniversities Reopening: Here Is Why FG Is Delaying Private Schools by cyrux(op):
Public Opinion weighs in favour of Tertiary institutions being allowed to reopen since market places and churches are swimming with people and there is no longer a ban on interstate travels. Some have even pleaded that Final years (students in exit classes) should at least be allowed to complete their education
While it seems like there is nothing that should stop this from happening, the Federal Government has refused to give the go-ahead. A look at some comments from the 'powers-that-be' explains why FG is reluctant to do so.

Pulse reported that on 22nd August, during an NTA programme, the Minister of State for Education, Hon. Chukwuemeka Nwajiuba, made these statements;

“Private universities have written to us, requesting that they are allowed to reopen ahead of public institutions. Vice-chancellors have also requested that we allow them to reopen for their students in exit classes..."

Now, here is a possible reason why Private Universities who are capable of handling the safety protocols are not allowed to do that...

We have also a lot of calls from bodies who want us to resolve the industrial action embarked upon by the Academic Staff Union of Universities before reopening because some public schools which are not ASUU-prone want to take the advantage of the strike to move ahead, but that would destroy our public schools. So, we are working on all these calls.”

From the statements made by Minister Nwajiuba, it is clear that 'fear for safety' is no longer what is keeping Tertiary Institutions from reopening. It is now an FG-ASUU thing which does not concern the private institutions so why should they have to pay for it?

CelebritiesTonto Dikeh Shares Photo Of Injury From Husband, Warns Him From Spreading 'Lies' by cyrux(op): 1:40am On Mar 12, 2017
Tonto Dikeh took to Instagram yesterday to ‘vindicate’ herself of the recent reports by her husband on her behaviour. She is alleged to have smoked while breastfeeding their baby and pulled a gun on his house help and guards in Ghana. These and more are accusations that have risen since their problems of which Tonto Dikeh has not being a silent partner. She has denied all the claims by her husband Churchill and called him a Fraudster and a Childkiller whose violent acts has killed his unborn children. She went ahead to deny the video of the Superintendent Oppong of the Ghana Madina Divisional command reading the statement written by her husband and called them the ‘LyingPolice’.

In this new episode of her relationship saga, she warned her Husband that she has pictures and videos to prove that she is indeed a victim of domestic violence. Saying she released this not to tarnish his image -as he is still the father of her child- but to vindicate herself of the rumor being spread about her.

Domestic violence is a scourge in the world. In Africa especially, this evil is rampant.African traditions preach & teach the almost absolute submission of the wife to the husband or the husband’s almost ownership of the wife.Hence, to the uninformed & uneducated woman, domestic violence is easily accepted as a norm, this is precisely the reason why domestic violence is rampant in our society. It is therefore obvious that one of the most effective ways to curb this scourge is to inform and educate people; l/we must create the awareness of the wrongness of this act, with a view of solving this problem permanently.I dnt take for granted that God has made me a voice. He has blessed me with means & a celebrity status. Most of all, I am a strong Christian. Our Christian faith encourages us to use the gifts given to us by God for the benefit of others.I also have come to learn & realise, that God allows us to experience things so that on the long run we can help others avoid or survive similar experiences. It is for this reason that I shared my horrible experiences of wife battery, perhaps I might help someone;if I only succeed in helping one person,it would have been well worth it.
It has been brought to my attention my EX is spreading scandalous & baseless lies about me, he has even resorted to some very intimidating tactics in a bid to discredit me and my story.I would like to state for the avoidance of doubt, that everything I have shared is true.I went through those experiences and to the glory of God, I survived and I am a better person today.I would like to inform my antagonists that I have no problem with fighting back,I have said the truth and I have pictures and videos to back my story. I will not hesitate to use them to vindicate myself. That I have not shared these strong evidence2 date is borne out of respect that this man remains the father of my son.In the event that he will resort to lies in a bid to save face & further tarnish my image becomes unwarranted insult upon severe physical & mental injury.Let me reiterate, that my sole objective is 2help people,I'm not interested in smearing anybody’s perceived image,I strongly advice that you mrX be warned

TV/MoviesRe: 24 Legacy, Homeland Discussion (beware Of Spoilers) by cyrux: 5:54pm On Mar 04, 2017
It is certainly interesting for a movie not a Series. In my opinion it lacks the build up that made Jack Bauer an interesting character.
If this Series was named something else, it may actually earn its stripes but bearing the name '24' set the standards high and unconsciously, everyone is pitting the lead character against Jack Bauer. Some are still on the series hoping that it leads to an appearance of Jack. We all know that Jack is the guy who would do anything to get the job done. Even though he battles with the morality of it. But in this series, there's no 'bleeding conscience' or 'dire consequences' to breaking the rules. Its just as if everyone is Jack Bauer including the female former director too! Am a sucker for Keifer Sutherland movies including the suspenseful 'Designated Survivor' so am hoping ...seriously hoping that it gets better with each episode. Right now, it just seems to focus more on action than buildup. #JustMyOpinionThough
