Codedboy95:Wonderful idea bro. I truly love the idea that because Nairaland is already existing then you didn't try to let that stop you in creating something in your own way! I also have a forum: www.nct.com.ng |
A little girl was playing with a pair of scissors and the mother was telling her to drop it. You know what she replied, “I know how to do it” , well, till she mistakenly clipped the top of her finger did she willingly and in tears drop the scissors. →1. Pain tells you how far is enough. Have you ever tried to tell a little child not to touch fire? Well, in those good old days when we were younger, we wanted to be cool and in control like the grown ups around us who never seemed to be afraid of fire. Well, a burnt finger, a burnt rug and an almost burnt kitchen taught me my limits. →2. Pain feeds us. Except for some people who may have never felt hunger in their lives (and I doubt if there are such), hunger pain also known as hunger pangs, remind us we need to eat and nourish our bodies. Thanks to the pain in the tummy when we are hungry, some workaholics I know would never eat. →3. Pain wakes us up. This part always has me puzzled. Have you realized that you sometimes don’t know that you have an injury until you begin to feel pain there? I watch a lot of TLC and they do have a lot of crazy content there. I once watched an episode of Sex sent me to the ER and there was this couple camping out at night in front of a fire and kissing. Well the guy had his leg on fire for a while and did not know because of the heat of the passion. Well, it was when the pain shot to his brain that he realized his leg was on fire. →4. Pain makes us smarter. After a few disappointments here and there, a few heartbreaks, we learn to be smarter and to approach something in a different way (well I am hoping you all do otherwise, insanity and delusion is knocking). They say experience is the best teacher, I say Pain was the subject taught and instrument of teaching. Meanwhile, when they refer to experience being the best teacher, often times they mean painful and hurting experience, so take note. →5. Pain tells us we are human. I learnt a valuable lesson about feeling, if I feel nothing towards you, I will do nothing for you either good or evil. One of the things that differentiates humans from Robots and machines is feelings. Whether love, hate, joy or Pain, we are filled with an unending flow of emotions and feelings and Pain is one of them. →6. Pain saves us. I saw a documentary once of a baby born that did not cry; not at the smacking of his bum nor for any of the injections shots he got. The little boy was full of smiles and laughs. As he grew, he would fall and not cry. His parents and the doctors finally knew something was wrong when the little baby boy bit and chewed off his own tongue and felt no pain. He had a disease. His brain could not process pain. →7. Pain tells us we are Alive. Only a dead man feels no pain. Source |
Nice one |
Umu101, you sounded so confident like you already extremely proficient in Javascript and python, don't forget Ruby on the rails it's important too. I was at the last Andela bootcamp, we were only 60 that made it there but 31 people were eliminated within the first week and it's so unfortunate that i'm among them. Now, this Friday some people will be eliminated again. Andela is looking for just 18 smart people to become Fellows. |
balinda:oh! Now I see the reason we have so many dull people in this country, if the owner of what'sapp stay limited to the fact that facebook is already in existence, I hope u know he won't try to build whatsapp at all! Exactly the problem we're having here, because there's a forum already then everyone should limit their ability and creativity and never think of building something great. Very poor mentality. |
Gurusarenna:Lolz, just laughing here, you're obviously drunk go and learn how to speak then come back to me. I've got my reply for you. #funnyPeople |
NCAN:lol, extremely low mentality I just wasted my time trying to speak some upright words into you. Goodbye. |
Updated |
Edwardhead:i want to promote the forum. Okay fine! But is it not worthy of promotion? |
NCAN:i don't want to reply you before but on a second thought about your reaction; its obvious you went through the post discovered some valuable words but the person who commented before you made you think wrongly entirely! Now, hin about it... Even if that article points to my forum is that not okay enough? The forum is only helping people so i don't see any reason you or anyone should immediately constitute negative thoughts in your soul about it. |
Umu101:its very compulsory that you study the homestudy pdf files and you've to be very careful because your answers much match what's in the homestudy PDF files. |
KinzyeWriter:let's meet here: www.nct.com.ng we can talk better there. |

→The 25 Pitfalls(↓↓↓) of a failed Blog Essentially, your blog isn’t making money because…← #1. It’s a fact that 99% of bloggers are not making money. So you are in the majority. Stay strong, comrade. #2. You have more ads than content. When was the last time your visitors actually saw your content? Also Read:READ THIS BEFORE BUYING A DOMAIN FOR YOUR BLOG #3. You use advertising networks that never pay you. Not to be confused with $0.01 AdSense earning. #4. You create content for marketing, but not content worth marketing. Think about it. #5. Your marketing campaign is not impressive, making it easy to forget. Write to impress! #6. You put too much time on social marketing, especially those “Share me & I will share you back!” #7. You hired a bad marketer. If he promised 1 million views per month, why is he working for $100? Also Read:HOW TO BE SUCCESFUL WITH YOUR BLOG #8. You didn’t establish your brand well enough, and don’t even think about parodying the greats. #9. You’re poor at blogging your niche. Web design is not about saving JPG to PDF to DOC. #10. Your niche is hardly profitable. Well, there’s your problem: who is going to pay to advertise on your meme blog? #11. Name 5 of your friends that are in your niche. Money is attracted to crowds, start networking. #12. If it wasn’t for the post date, I would’ve thought you updated your blog years ago. Blog about the latest. #13. Your content is not viral. Photo that looks nice? Meh. A photo that moves? Holy, Mother of Instant Share! #14. You copy other people’s content. We do not need yet another 9gag. #15. Your content makes people’s life harder. Stop making WordPress themes that get people hacked! You know who you are. Also Read:TIPS TO GET USERS RETURNING TO YOUR BLOG #16. You blog about complicated things (that 99% of your readers don’t understand nor care about). #17. Your content is too common and boring. Your reader will run away faster than you can press Publish. #18. Your ramble off-key too much. If your Photoshop blog appears in the results for "Dirty Politics", restrategize. #19. You post too inconsistently. Cry less, update more. #20. You chose to twist the truth. #21. Your grammar is so terrible that Grammar Nazis flock to your articles with their "guns" ready and still ran out of ammo. Sometimes less is more. #22. You use too much internet slang. Would you have paid for a product that "has swag"? #23. You use profanity for your adjectives, adverbs and conjunctions. Only teens and trolls love them, and in an average blog, they both contribute almost next to nothing in terms of monetary value. #24. Your content format is insane. Too many colors spoil the palette. #25. You spend too much time counting visitors than trying to keep them coming back to your blog. What makes a great designer? Is there some secret formula? Where is that sweet 5-step process to becoming a killer designer? Well, sorry to be the bearer of bad news, but there is no such formula. However, when I study and watch successful designers, I see common qualities. Working at a creative agency has proven to me that there are eight qualities of a great graphic designer. A great designer is… 1. Always Learning Who likes to be told how to do something better than or different from the way we were taught? Usually, we start to short-circuit and lose our cool. But what if they’re right? What if that Photoshop trick saves you three hours of production time? Many great designers started out very humble. They became sponges and took it all in. They took notes and tried new things. They were receptive and grew because they listened to the people around them. There wasn’t an attitude of pride or arrogance, but a conscious decision to be humble, to be teachable. 2. Able to Take Criticism When I was in college, like many art students, I had to sit through critiques. My professor would group us all together around our lovely design work and just go to town on what was right and wrong about every single design. Then, she would open up the floor for all of us to chime in on each other’s work. You know what happened? (insert cricket noise here) Silence. I mean it…dead silence. No one wanted to give any kind of criticism! I was just as petrified to speak up as the next guy. It was bad enough taking in all the criticism; why in the world would I want to dish it out? Criticism is a tricky thing. As a designer, we must learn that when our work is under criticism there’s no need to take it personally. There’s no reason to get defensive and make up lame excuses. Be receptive and open-minded. 3. Constantly Looking for Inspiration How do you start your day? We all have our rituals. One of the things I do as soon as I get to work is visit three to five websites full of design inspiration. Rarely have I met a talented designer that does not practice the same habit. You must be exposed to what’s going on in the design world. I’m constantly looking at what is getting noticed and talked about in the design world so that I can apply the same professionalism to my work. I can also keep an eye on what the current design trends are and where they are going. Keeping a pool of design inspiration has also proven helpful. When I start a project, I can go back to it and find inspiring design work that I’ve saved to help kick start my creative process. 4. Out of the Comfort Zone Ask any successful designer and they’ll tell you they were willing to learn and explore new design tricks. It’s hard! I get that. However, how will a designer ever grow or learn if they’re never pushed beyond their limits? Almost every day, I am confronted with a design problem and I think to myself, “OK, they never taught me this in school, what in the world am I supposed to do?” Fear can get the best of us. It can cripple us. Get out of your comfort zone, learn and then just try.In this day and age, it’s so easy to learn new tips and tricks. Take advantage of the vast knowledge that is out there. Listen to your colleagues around you and don’t let fear stop you from creating amazing things. Have One or more tips not added? Feel free to share them with us using the comment box below. |
