Vice-President Yemi Osinbajo has said that the present administration is not opposed to restructuring as being canvassed in many quarters. He said the administration was in support of any form of restructuring that would benefit Nigerians. Osinbajo stated this while addressing traditional rulers from Ekiti State at the palace of the Ewi of Ado-Ekiti, Oba Rufus Adejugbe, on Wednesday. His Senior Special Assistant on Media and Publicity, Mr. Laolu Akande, made the transcript of the Vice-President’s speech available to journalists on Thursday. Osinbajo said Nigeria needed peace more than any other thing at this time. He berated those who he said derived satisfaction in ethnic and religious politics in order to divide the country. PRESIDENT Muhammadu Buhari on Monday observed that those clamouring for the restructuring of the country do so for selfish motives but expressed the hope that the diverse agenda can be accommodated by the constitution. He made the observation while receiving some traditional rulers under Urhobo Progressive Union (UPU) and members of the All Progressive Congress (APC) from Urhobo land at the presidential villa, Abuja on Monday. He was responding to the call by the group to consider the call for restructuring. https://punchng.com/we-are-in-support-of-restructuring-osinbajo-says/amp/ http://www.tribuneonlineng.com/152161/ Call for restructuring based on selfish interest ―Buhari |

The Swiss gave a dullard this kind of dumb condition and he wants to comply and use the opportunity to deceive a docile nation to siphon the money back. To suggest that we invest the money in developmental infrastructure is to also tow the part of what is known that the money will go back into pockets. This is a shythole country. |
Wonderful so Fulani also have IDPs. Narrative gradually changing. You brought trouble to the people then open camps for yourself. |
Thanks to Daddy Freeze and others. We must continue to put the church on toes to do the right thing. For those asking how do we determine the most vulnerable. My answer is, anybody that walks in there to ask for food is the most vulnerable because he has conquered shame and humbled himself to accept the title “most vulnerable”. . The most important thing is sharing the Word/Love through food. |

Generation that was born after 12 June 1993 are becoming too emotional and intolerable about issue they were not part of. Comments which obviously are from the young generation are not reflective of the maturity the Yorubas are known for. Please Ochereome owns the right to his opinion and should be so respected and or ignored. However using the word slowpoke was despicable of him. Here in Nigeria we mocked at ourselves with distasteful names and titles and moved on. This should not be an exception. We are yet to finish with MURIC case with Falz and here we have another May religion and tribalism not kill us. This is truly an emotional season. |
*EX PRESIDENT, IBRAHIM BABANGIDA OPENED UP ON JUNE 12 ANNULMENT ADMITS HE CANNOT DIE FOR NIGERIA* They will kill me; they will kill the President Elect, Chief MKO Abiola if I went ahead with the election and announced the winner of the elections which we all know to be Bashorun, Chief MKO Abiola. I know so; I am not daft. He won; he tried. I feel bad about the whole matter. Professor, I do not see how they will spare you because they know you are my principal confidant. You think they do not know you? They know; they know you are with me now. They saw you coming in and they know you are with me now I cannot kill myself for the sake of what the country wants. I am sorry, he lamented. It was astonishing to hear a General state that he could not lay down his life for his country. It was clear that General Babangida was in a fix as of June 21st 1993. I then proceeded to deal with the questions of who were these “they” and for what reasons would they want to kill the President and the President Elect if the June 12 election were allowed to go forward. He named them in military and in ethnic categories: Sani (meaning General Sani Abacha) is opposed to a return to civilian rule. Sani cannot stand the idea of Chief Abiola, a Yoruba becoming his Commander- in- Chief; Sani seems to have the ears of the Norhern leaders that no Southerner especially from the South West should become the President of the country. Sani seems to rally the Northern elders to confront me on the matter. He is winning; the Sultan and the Northern leaders are of this frame of mind. Where do I go from here? They do not trust me. Without Sani, I will not be alive today; without the North, I would not have become an officer in the Nigerian Army and now the President of Nigeria I don’t want to appear ungrateful to Sani; he may not be bright upstairs but he knows how to overthrow governments and overpower coup plotters. He saw to my coming to office in 1985 and to my protection in the many coups I faced in the past, especially the Orkar coup of 1990 where he saved me and my family including my infant daughter.” Sani risked his life to get me into office in 1983 and 1985; if he says he does not want Chief Abiola, I will not force Chief Abiola on him. He also named Lt General Dongoyaro and Brigadier General David Mark as those who were against Chief Abiola. In fact, he quoted David Mark as saying: I’d shoot Chief Abiola the day NEC( National Electoral Commission) pronounces him the elected President! dealslip:I like your submission however wish to disagree with your last paragraph. The election was free and fair because Prof Nwosu took a clinical approach to the election. He was insistent and was determined to get the process through. No body could doubt Abiola’s popularity. He had invested in charity across the nation and beyond. In the east, the voting pattern was not because “he was Yoruba and automatically an outcast”. No! It was because they had their own son as Vice President running in NRC. It’s was natural they voted for their own. Just like you admitted, the margin was close which means more Igbos voted for Abiola as well. The entire event had something to do with courage. It had to do with integrity, it had to do with insisting on doing the right thing in the face of threat and intimidation. Prof Nwosu stood path and maintained that Abiola won the election. The whole award is not about Buhari’s love for Abiola, democracy or the Yorubas. After all he worked for Abacha and worship him till date. A man that was a terror to the Yoruba and the nation. It’s about exploiting the political capital therein. To Prof Nwosu, he has no electoral value and so no need for honor. To kingibe, PMB must always live up to his nepotistic passion despite not meriting it. This honor is going to blow a lot of thing out of Buhari control as more connecting demands would be made from it. As a whole, the Yorubas remain the winners. ![]() |

The honors given to the trio of MKO Abiola, Chief Gani Fawehinmi and Babagana Kingibe are commendable. According to the FG, they represent the symbol of June 12 or rather democracy. However, it’s noteworthy that Prof Humphrey Nwosu who was the national chairman of the defunct National Electoral Commission of Nigeria from 1989 to 1993 laid the foundation for Nigeria’s democracy through his insistence that election must hold on the chronicled date June 12 which has now become democracy day. Prof Nwosu conducted an election that today is considered as the freest and fairest election in the history of Nigeria. He withstood every threat and pressure to truncate the election and continued to maintain that Chief MKO Abiola won the election. He upheld the sanctity of the election results even though the military government at the time annulled the results and stopped him from announcing it. I join the good people of Nigeria to celebrate this great man who made June 12 possible. May the efforts of our heroes past not be in vain

Buhari is using the word “transmission” to distract the senate from the content of the amended bill. I hold Buhari in suspicion over any bill sent by him to the senate after the water bill and his insistence on grazing route. Senators from the south should scrutinize the bill well because he might have ulterior motive to amend the bill to favor his Fulani clan. ![]() |
Any state that refuses to pass the grazing law is enemy of the nation |
