Family / How We Sell Pregnant Girls’ Babies To Assist Couples Without Children – Suspects by dabrats(f): 6:08am On Nov 14, 2015
The suspectsSuspected child traffickers who were recently nabbed by the Special Anti Robbery Squad (SARS) at the Delta State police command have said they engage in the business to assist pregnant girls including married couples who don’t have children.

The suspects, while responding to questions from Punch Newspaper said, “We sold babies between 1-5 years of age to those who have been married for several years without children. Some of us are nurses and supportive members of staff of health institutions. We do not know how the police got wind of our illicit businesses while we were operating in Asaba and Onitsha. In most cases, a child costs N250,000 to N500,000 while grown-up ones are sold for N1m.”

Investigation revealed that the suspects took the SARS operatives to Akwa-Ibom State where two children were rescued and two other persons, suspected to be members of their gang, were also arrested.

One of the suspects who claimed to be Patience Okon said, “Since their mothers cannot take care of their babies because of lack of money, we normally arrange for wealthy parents who have no children but in need of children, to come and buy from us and take them away. We issue receipts of payment to them, we don’t steal the children as police are alleging but the mothers of these children in most cases opt for their children to be sold. Some of them don’t even know the men who impregnate them while some would be hiding from their parents. So we actually help them to solve their problems”.

Other suspects who spoke in the same vein said, “We were just helping out some persons who are in need. We are not human traffickers even though we make money from it. The mothers of the babies wanted to throw them away so we came to assist these young girls so that they would not throw away the babies or kill them.

Romance / All Single Ladies Should Try This For Valentine...it's Worth It! by dabrats(f): 12:05am On Feb 12, 2015
The single ladies curse is one that is not unbeknown to the victims of it. No single lady denies the pain of having such status neither do they look forward to that dreaded love day- Valentine’s Day.

Even Beyonce tried to make it cool by singing an anthem for all single ladies but a random joke was passed saying, “Beyonce would call out single ladies and end up in her husband’s house later”.

No matter how much you try to smile through it all or read all the articles consoling your status, fact still remains that come February 14, you’re still single. So what do you do?

Like Bonang Matheba, you can do something- Yes, gift yourself on the day of Love.
The South African TV presenter bought herself a white Mercedes CLA 45 AMG as a pampering gift for Valentine’s day. She posted this via her Instagram page saying, “‘….bought myself a Valentine’s Day gift. Single girl problems’”Now we are not saying you should go overboard and clear your accounts like Bonang did, but the message is to love yourself as much as you’d want someone to love you the same way.
So you don’t have a Valentine bae, get yourself gifts and shower yourself with love. No one can do it better than you would to yourself. You have to love yourself first before you let someone love you.

Sports / Chelsea And Man City Disgraced Out Of The FA Cup By Non EPL Teams by dabrats(f): 1:53am On Jan 25, 2015
Chelsea fans where are thou! how do you feel this? hehe..so,In what was a day full of surprises in the English FA Cup, both Manchester City and Chelsea suffered shock losses as they got eliminated from the competition.

Middlesborough and Bradford emerged as the giant-killers so far, as they both claimed the scalp of their superior oppositions, City and Chelsea.

Both teams went into their games as strong favourites, especially as they were playing at home and also to clubs that are not in the English Premier League.

Manchester City who just arrived England on Friday after a mini break in Dubai were the better team in the first half, but lost steam in the second half.

Patrick Bramford made the best use of a defensive error by City to scramble in the opener for Middlesborough.

Aitor Karanka's team held on resolutely and defended with their might to hold off City's onslaught.

And with the clock wounding down Kike finished off the contest, following up Bramford's ball after he was tripped to slot it beyond Willy Caballero to send their fans into raptures.

If City's defeat was bad, Chelsea's loss was worse as they gave up a 2-0 lead to end up losing 4-2 at Stamford Bridge.

Bradford endured everything thrown at them by Chelsea and just took their time to take their chances.

In a game some second team players were given a run-in by Jose Mourinho, Chelsea had no excuses how they capitulated.

Gary Cahill and Ramires got the first two goals for Chelsea and they looked like they would go on to rout Bradford.

However Bradford did themselves some good by scoring a goal before the break through Jon Stead who beat Petr Cech from his near post.

Former Chelsea player Filipe Morais converted from close range to level for Bradford in the 75th minute, setting an upset on the cards.

Stead held the ball up and laying it back for Andy Halliday to thump beyond Cech for the third goal.

Substitute Mark Yeates finished off the contest with a well composed goal to seal a 4-2 win for his side.

Chelsea came from being in four competitions this week, and are now left in three.

Family / Nigeria Woman Who Couldn't Find Mr Right Co-parents With A Gay Man She Met Onlin by dabrats(f): 10:53pm On Jan 24, 2015
Seyi and Robert are just like any other parents. They raise two young sons, go to weddings together and give each other parenting advice.
However, there's a catch; because Robert is gay. The pair, like a rising number of people, are co-parents.
Co-parents are two people who want children but may not have found The One or aren't able to have offspring themselves.

Indeed, Seyi Joseph was desperate to be a mother while she was young but hadn't found Mr Right so she decided to do things her own way.

Seyi, 38, who was born in London, but grew up in Bradford and Nigeria, made the decision to co-parent with Robert, who also wanted children.

Speaking to FEMAIL about her decision, Seyi said: 'I had always known I wanted to be a mum. Naturally growing up I expected to meet Mr Right, fall in love and build a family with him, unfortunately I don’t have much luck when it comes to men.'
When she was 26, the former secondary school teacher tried online dating and introduction agencies. 'I realised I’d rather be a mum with no husband than wait for Mr Right and leave it too late to have children,' she said.

'I applied for adoption in 2003. After a year of intense scrutiny I was turned down on account of being too young, too single and likely to get into a relationship; that’s when I decided to use a donor to conceive.
'Whilst I was trying to adopt I had read quite a lot about donor children, their feelings and experiences, about how not knowing their biological background affects their sense of identity.
'This - in addition to my African background - makes it a big deal for me that a child have as much information as possible about their biological background and know their biological parents if at all possible.'

Seyi then met 47-year-old Robert - a homosexual man who wanted to be a father - on a donor site.
She explained: 'I had been in touch with quite a number of possible donors but hadn’t found someone who shared my values and who was happy to have his identity known or be involved in our children’s lives.

'I was at the point of giving up when I contacted Robert; we both have a similar outlook to life and similar views on parenting. I was working overseas at the time so we had time to get to know each other properly via email for almost a year before eventually meeting up.'

They opted for artificial insemination - a treatment for infertility, when a couple cannot conceive a baby that involves directly inserting sperm into a woman's womb.
Seyi believes that artificial insemination (AI) works just as well as natural insemination (NI). Seyi gave birth to a Alex, now six. They also welcomed Elias, now two, and both sons are the light of their lives.

Robert and I are great friends, so much so this is the longest relationship I’ve had with a man who is not a relative!,' she said.
'Our boys stay with me as we both agree we’d rather they had a stable base. Robert sees the boys at least every other week and speaks to them on the phone at least once a week. Whenever possible we do things together as a family such as going to a farm, or fair or live shows.

'We also attend family functions together; Robert was at my brother’s wedding last year for instance. Robert is named on both their birth certificates and our children have both our surnames.'

Seyi's experience spurred a business venture and she launched Feelingbroody.com - a website for men and women looking for donor or fellow co-parents.

Speaking about her company, which charges a £150 registration fee and a further £395 for those seeking co-parents, she said: 'Feelingbroody.com is an introductions site for those seeking known sperm donors or co-parents. Unlike other sites we don’t have any profiles on our website and all members have to prove they are STI tested, provide proof of identity and agree to background checks.

'They also have to answer questions about their health and family. The aim is not just to introduce a recipient to any donor but to the right donor, to ensure people are being safe and asking the right questions before doing something that will no doubt impact their lives and those of any resultant children.'
Seyi launched the site as a result of her experience trying to conceive as a single woman. After she was turned down for adoption, she turned to a fertility clinic and says there were quite a few things that didn’t sit well with her.
'All their donors were anonymous. As a black woman I could only receive donation from a black donor (and they only had two at the time). Plus, recipients were only given minimum information about their donors i.e. age, height, eye colour, hair colour, occupation and interests.'

She continued: 'It was all so clinical, I had an IUI twice (think cervical smear), not best for relaxation or conception. On top of these it was expensive, almost £3,000 per cycle (£295 consultation, £295 tests, £1,600 (two vials at £800 per vial of semen) and £795 for the treatment itself.
'I also tried donor sites and many were not moderated or monitored so anyone could join. My main concerns with these was that you never truly know if people are who they say they are, also it seemed no one was keeping track of who was donating to who.
'There were requests for donors who were "available this weekend" or "in the next two days" - hardly any time to get to know each other or to get tested.
'Feelingbroody.com is not nearly as popular as other donor sites but we meet the needs of a certain group of people not currently being catered for by fertility clinics or donor sites.'

Her clients are single women in their mid to late thirties, with good jobs, and lesbian couples who have been in a relationship for some time, as well as some single gay men in their 30s and older straight men in their 50s.
'Like me they all want to know who they are procreating with and be able to answer any questions their children may have in future,' added Seyi.

While Seyi is still single and 'open to a relationship', now that she has the two sons she'd always dreamed of, if she doesn't meet anyone she says it 'wouldn’t bother her in the least'

Politics / More Than 2,000 Killed By Boko Haram In Baga, and No One Is Talking About it by dabrats(f): 6:38pm On Jan 12, 2015
Thousands of bodies – too many to count – remain strewn in the bush in Nigeria from an Islamic extremist attack that Amnesty International described as the “deadliest massacre” in the history of Boko Haram. The killings are reported to have started on the 2nd of January 2015.
Fighting continued on Friday around Baga, a town on the border with Chad where insurgents seized a key military base on 3 January and attacked again on Wednesday.
“Security forces have responded rapidly, and have deployed significant military assets and conducted air strikes against militant targets,” said a government spokesman.

District head Baba Abba Hassan said most victims are children, women and elderly people who could not run fast enough when insurgents drove into Baga, firing rocket-propelled grenades and assault rifles on town residents.
“The human carnage perpetrated by Boko Haram terrorists in Baga was enormous,” Muhammad Abba Gava, a spokesman for poorly armed civilians in a defence group that fights Boko Haram, told the Associated Press.
He said the civilian fighters gave up on trying to count all the bodies. “No one could attend to the corpses and even the seriously injured ones who may have died by now,” Gava said.

An Amnesty International statement said there are reports the town was razed and as many as 2,000 people killed.

The previous bloodiest day in the uprising involved soldiers gunning down unarmed detainees freed in a 14 March 2014 attack on Giwa military barracks in Maiduguri city. Amnesty said then that satellite imagery indicated more than 600 people were killed that day.

Around 1.5 million people have been displaced by the violence, many of whom will not be able to vote in the polls under Nigeria’s current electoral laws.

Boko Haram also appears to be regionalising the conflict, after threatening neighbouring Cameroon in a video earlier this week.

As President Goodluck Jonathan continues to campaign around the nation, he reacted today to the killings at his declaration in Oyo, where he said he has given the National Security Adviser order to investigate killings and ordered the NSA to come up with a comprehensive report which will be made public to Nigerians.

The five-year insurgency killed more than 10,000 people last year alone, according to the Washington-based Council on Foreign Relations.

Ironically, Yesterday, thousands of people led by world leaders including Israel's Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, Mali's President Ibrahim Boubacar Keita, Germany's Chancellor Angela Merkel, European Council President Donald Tusk, Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas, Italy's Prime Minister Matteo Renzi and Switzerland's President Simonetta Sommaruga(pictured above) held a solidarity walk against terrorism in honour of the 17 victims of the Charlie Hebdo shooting and supermarket siege in the streets of Paris, France yesterday. Yet just like American actor Boris Kudjoe said his his post below, no one seems to really be bothered about the biggest massacre that has happened in Nigerian since Boko Haram started its insane killings in 2009.

My heart bleeds for this country, and the security situation.
The lives of the people in the North, killed on a daily basis matter too, and should be treated as such by the government, and even the international community(since the government appears to be clueless as to how to combat this boko haram menace). This CANNOT continue to go on. Nigeria is on fire, and we NEED HELP!
May the souls of the departed, brought to an end through this senseless act of violence rest in peace, AMEN.

Romance / Relationship Advice: Are You A Remote Control? by dabrats(f): 7:53am On Jan 12, 2015
Are You in a Controlling Relationship?
Have you lost yourself in your relationship?
Who were you before your relationship? Today, who are you? Are you the same person you were before you got into your relationship? Do you still do the things you love that make you happy or have you been transformed into who your partner wants you to be?

These are some warning signs to look out for. Ask yourself:
– Do I have to ask for permission before I do anything?
– Does my partner see my needs as important? Or does my partner downplay what’s important to me?
– Does my partner constantly threaten me with the “Do this or I will leave you” when things are not going their way?
– When I turn down sexual attempts, is my partner’s response similar to “If you don’t want to do it, I will find someone else that will”?
– Am I always at fault?
– Am I always doing all the apologizing or apologizing for something?
– Am I constantly being told how to dress, what to do, how to live?
– Does my partner have episodes of intense anger towards me sometimes?
– Does my partner use money and lavish gifts in order to make me stay?
Best-Universal-Remote-Controls-Updated
If you were meant to be controlled, you would have come with a remote. Love is more powerful than control. Relationships are more valuable than ownership. You must trust your partner. How do you trust an owner not to treat his object bad? Do you always treat the things you own right? You are not an object; therefore, you must not be objectified. A relationship without trust is like staring at an empty jar of honey. You can stare at it, hold it, but you will never enjoy its sweetness. Respect is everything. Respect is not control. Control is about power. No human being should be given such authority over your life. You are the architect of your own life.
Sometimes, people lose themselves in relationships. Being with a person should not change you…at least not negatively. Your partner should enjoy you when you are yourself. You are nobody’s puppet. Friendship is the most important element of any relationship. Same as building a house, friendship should be the solid foundation of your relationship.
Ever been in a controlling relationship or know someone in one? Feel free to share your experience so someone can learn from it
Remember, love yourself and each other

Romance / 'he Asked Me To Marry Him, Now He Beats Me' (help) by dabrats(f): 4:43am On Jan 11, 2015
Hello readers,

I recently got engaged to the love of my life. We met in university and have been together for 7 years now. He proposed to me a year ago in September and that was the happiest day of my life. I am finally marrying the man of my dreams. He has been so caring. We have been through so many ups and downs together.

Here’s the thing. Our relationship is public. We celebrate each other on Instagram, Facebook and every social network we are on. I have attended so many of my friends weddings and now it is time to celebrate mine. We started planning our 2015 wedding about 3 months ago.

In those 3 months, I have fallen down the stairs, hit my head on the wall, slipped on the floor and scratched my body on a rough surface. These are the lies I have been telling to my friends. My whole body has become a punching bag to my fiancé. He has been beating me. These are things I have never experienced before with him. We had gotten into serious arguments in the past but he had never raised his hands against me.

My dad is late. I’ve told my mom every time he hit me and she would go over to his house with me and shout at him. He would apologize and do it again. I am tired. My mom keeps advising me not to disgrace the family that he is a man and that’s how men behave. I don’t know what I’m doing wrong that has been ticking him off so much lately.

He makes it up to me all the time with expensive gifts but I’m tired.

I’m writing this email because he shoved me against the wall last night and the man I was staring at was not the one I have known all these years. He promised me last time that it would never happen again. I was so scared I started crying. He started crying with me and kept apologizing. I love him…

Romance / 10 Secrets You Should Probably Keep From Your Partner by dabrats(f): 4:36am On Jan 11, 2015
If the moment’s right, there’s literally nothing you can’t tell your guy. That’s the power of love. But—it gets a little bit tricky here—for some personal revelations, the timing is just never right. Like, ever. So while they’re not truly secrets, you’re totally off the hook on saying them. (And come on, you wouldn’t really want to hear these things either.) Here are a dozen things you’re better off keeping to yourself:

His best friend is hot.
We know our friend is attractive. For years, every time we went out, he’d be the one scoring all the numbers. And that’s totally cool—we got you! But we’d like to think that this one girl—that’s you—isn’t like those girls. We want you to be the girl who’s more interested in us.
You stalked his ex on Facebook.
We already assume you did. (We stalked yours, too.) We just don’t need to hear about it.
The best sex you’ve ever had.
If it wasn’t with him, keep your trap shut.
The sex you wish you would have had.
You spent years shooting down the advances of some theater nerd in high school, and then he went on to become a famous actor. Now he has a real entourage and bodyguards and Emmies and a pet tiger. Wonder what life would have been like if you’d taken him more seriously? Well—wonder to yourself, please.
His isn’t the biggest penis you’ve ever seen.
Even if you once dated a guy who wore custom pants to accommodate his giant bulge, we don’t want to know about it. We prefer to think of all your past boyfriends as Ken dolls.
You hate his favorite T-shirt.
Every guy has some old threadbare shirt that he can’t toss out. For one reason or another, it’s sentimental. He bought it on some vacation with his buddies, or it was a hand-me-down from his big brother. Either way, just let him enjoy it. It’s a small sacrifice.
You hate his best friend.
Unless you have a damn good reason, this probably won’t end well.
You hate his parents.
Unless he hates them, too. Again, this is volatile territory here.
Some guy hit on you, and you didn’t give him your number.
Basically it sounds like you want credit for not cheating on us. Yeah, we appreciate it, but isn’t that the bare minimum for being in a relationship? Are you looking for a thanks? Trying to make us jealous? Why is this a story?
What you’re about to do in bed.
Unless you need us to sign off on something really strange and new, just surprise us. It’s better that way.
You faked an orgasm.
Take it to your grave, ladies. Come on, faking it doesn’t help anyone, so just be honest with the guy instead of doing it in the first place.

Hollywood stars like your Tom Cruises and your Samuel L Jacksons are ten-a-penny these days – you can’t leave the house without seeing their faces plastered on bus stops and the sides of buildings.

What of the actors who have achieved great success but receive no recognition for their work? Why, that bloke you were queing behind in Waitrose could have been one of these guys – the 10 highest-grossing movie stars you’ve never heard of…

Omotola Jalade Ekeinde
Total box-office: Unknown

''We’ll wager not only have you not heard of Omotola Jalade Ekeinde – or ‘Omosexy’ as her fans call her – but we reckon you probably haven’t even heard of the industry she spearheads: Nollywood.
Yes, that’s Nigeria’s version Hollywood, in which Omosexy dominates – she has over 300 film credits to her name (although most go straight to video). In her homeland she’s like a cross between Oprah Winfrey and Kim Kardashian, with her own reality TV series following her and her family.
Though it’s nigh on impossible to determine what her box-office total is, given that the Nigerian film industry is mostly one that distributes through market stalls and street corners, it is estimated to be worth upwards of £320 million a year – and Omosexy is a Nollywood cornerstone''.YAHOO cullage
