BoboNkiti19: This afonja idiots think having "empires" makes a society sophisticated and civilized... can someone remind these ape looking idiots that one of the earliest and greatest civilizations in the world didn't have an empire - Greece?
Even when we talk about empires, Afonjas make una no follow talk, I give that credit to actual empires in Africa like the Karnem-Bornu, Songhai, Mali, Kingdom of Ghana, Axum, Benin, Ethiopian empires etc... look up the list of the greatest empires in African civilization, and there was not one mention of the useless oyo empire. But the reasons for that aren't far-fetched... Afonja's are the only "empire" that lost to a bunch of teenage girls barely in their trimesters of menstrual cycles from Dahomey, it's even on record that those small girls used the heads of their fallen warriors as trophies .
They lost ilorin to the Fulani, and lots of their people were forced and recruited into the Fulani army as slaves... yes they managed to stop the Fulani hordes at Osogbo, but by then the Fulani who were overstrched in resources and men had already accomplished the ultimate task- which were significantly threaten the Oyo empire, annex territory among yoruuuba states, impose a caliphate political system in annexed territories, and write their names in the sand of time as people who actually invaded and conquered a people far away from their own lands.
When the British came with their sophisticated war machines, they encountered the weakest resistance among the afonjas, don't empires put up organized military resistance to invaders? the Benin empire did, the Kanuri people did, Ghana did, Mali did etc even Igbos with a decentralized political system and no so called empire structure bloodied the British for 31 fucking years (even today the British still respect us, and have documented records on the Ekumeku resistance in their archives and libraries till date). Afonja's on the other hand, were decimated in a matter of weeks or at best months , only Kosoko of Lagos and the brave Ijebu warriors even tried to actually fight off the British and their Hausa foot soldiers...
Please when warfare and empires are mentioned, Afonjas should not even talk. You mock the Igbos for been "slaughtered in their millions" during the Biafran war, but stupidly or rather ignorantly forgot those millions were civilians who were cowardly killed through starvation and carpet bombing air raids by Egyptian (not even Nigerian) piloted planes... on the actual battle field where the real men showed what bravery was, it's on record that the Nigerian side suffered way heavier casualties in men and materials than their sparsely-armed Biafran counterparts. Reverse the roles and put the useless Afonja's as the secessionist side fighting against nearly the whole of Nigeria and some super powers... I swear to God the West would have been conquered in just a matter of days , yoruuba soldiers would have quickly melted into neighboring Benin Republic and Togo and abandoned Ibadan and Lagos without a fight.
Awon oloshi, yes Igbos may not be about empires and war, but the least people to point that out should be yoruubas! |

Sammy07: you guys never build empires. You don't know what an outpost is.
Pre 19th century, you guys were still wearing leaves as clothes...
Abeq, if we're talking about war. Yorubas Benins Fulanis...
Learn art of war from these three tribes, reason why 3 millions of Ibo guys are used for Suya
Just one statement from Awolowo, changed everything. "How can we been feeding our enemies" Thank God you mentioned my own great Benin empire... We have them brave warriors we are proud of, warriors like Asoro N'iyokuo and a host of others but please, remove Yoruba, cos a certain Afonja paper warrior and local champion of old Kwara abadoned his village and villagers and domain and chickened away with the speed of light because of small small Fulani boys You people keep mentioning ojukwu..no matter what, where he came is still being habitated by his own people and their religion, kings remains intact. Buh can we say such of the village and ace of the " world Galant warrior", Afonja? Who are the main people of Kwara today? Do they have Emir that you all prostrate flat and dobale to on the floor or not? Is Kwara a western state or a northern state? Pele o,awon Igbo this,Igbo that,247,360...E ti fe di 40! E fi awon nna sile e lo wa ise se so awon shidren e will not be angry with you when you are gone Oh n btw,not everyone that gat a dissenting opinion from you bunch is Igbo, got it? |
