Those of us who have witnessed the visitation of the President know that about 50% of all the policemen in the state are called to action, infact, some will be standing aimlessly on his route hours before his arrival.

You have spoken like an Elder, Kolanut and a big calabash of fresh palm wine for you

M.M Airport was locked down for not less than 4 hours , travellers told to park well, even incoming flights were told to keep flying not to land, flights on ground were grounded , all because GEJ wants to arrive in Lagos ,

Dame Patience Jonathan caused 8 hours Hold up in Lagos when she visited with her 30 car convoy

All these things are still fresh in our memories

The Police , Army, NSCDC are always drafted to stock everywhere the president is visiting, and Yes, that reduces the response time and arrival of police men , already they are lazy they just want to chop money , they want to stand by the president and take selfies if possible , Non of them will want to respond to Armed Robbery incident and the last part is that Not all police men will be drafted for President clueless's protection ,but most of them will be on the roads leading to wherever the president is headed ,

Finally , Those police officers who died ... RIP to them Did not come to respond to the robbery incident, they were Bank Security or they came on Escort with a Bullion VAN , Fashola's allegation is not far fetched

Investment › Oil Is On Its Way Down Again; Will Gasoline Prices Follow? by DaBullIT(op): 12:32am On Mar 14, 2015
NEW YORK (AP) — The price of oil is tumbling again, rattling an already-shaken oil industry and heralding lower prices for consumers.

The lower crude prices will mean gasoline prices will slide lower in the coming weeks, and many drivers will likely pay under $2 a gallon in the summertime for the first time since 2004.

Oil prices had appeared to stabilize in a range nearly 15 percent higher than the depths they had reached in late January. But on Friday the International Energy Agency called a recent rise in oil prices a "head fake" and a "facade of stability."

"The rebalancing (of supply and demand) triggered by the price collapse has yet to run its course," the agency wrote in its monthly oil market report.

On Friday, oil fell $2.21, or 5 percent, to $44.84 a barrel, within 40 cents of its low for the year of $44.45. Here's what's behind the recent drop, and what else to look out for in the coming months.

FLOOD OF OIL

Oil has collapsed from over $100 because rising global supplies — especially in the U.S. — outpaced weak demand. The increase in U.S. production last year was the third-biggest one-year increase in the history of the global oil industry, according to BP.

That has pushed oil levels in storage to their highest ever in the U.S. and far higher than normal around the world. Analysts expect supplies to continue to build, forcing prices gradually lower, until refiners ramp up to make gasoline for the summer driving season.

But analysts say price of oil could fall sharply — to under $40 a barrel and perhaps even briefly to $20 — if supplies grow so much that storage tanks fill up.

WHAT ABOUT MY GAS PRICE?

Gasoline prices rise nearly every year around this time. This year has been no different. After reaching a low of $2.03 a gallon in late January, the national average retail price rose every day for more than a month, reaching $2.46 on March 7, according to AAA.

But the spring surge is likely over, according to Tom Kloza, chief oil analyst at the Oil Price Information Service. The national average has slipped lower every day for the past week, falling to $2.44 on Friday, and Kloza expects it to fall the rest of March and April.

The national average won't fall all the way to its January low, Kloza said, in part because refiners must still switch to more expensive summer blends of gasoline to meet clean air standards. But he expects drivers in much of the nation, especially in the South, to be paying less than $2 a gallon at times this spring and summer.

"This is something unique," Kloza says. "The market (decline) is going to make it so you don't even notice when your local station switches from winter to summer gas."

WHAT WILL PRODUCERS DO?

Low prices have forced oil companies to slash spending on new exploration and production, and forced oil service companies facing a slowdown in drilling to lay off thousands of workers.

When drillers stop sinking new wells into the ground, production begins to fall and prices rise. The number of rigs operating in the U.S. fell for the 14th straight week to their lowest since March of 2011, the oil services company Baker Hughes reported Friday.

But it is still unclear whether producers in the U.S. have cut back enough to help rebalance supply and demand. And while some OPEC members have called for the cartel to reduce output in an effort to force prices up, the group's most powerful member, Saudi Arabia, and other Gulf states have shown little interest in cutting back.

Despite the slowdown in drilling, U.S. production is still rising because projects started last year are still ramping up. Many oil companies say they can still make money at low prices if they drill only in their most cost-effective oil fields. But those fields are cost-effective because they produce a lot of oil, and that means output might not fall as much as expected.

U.S. production is not expected to start to slip until June, according to the Energy Department, and even then the declines are expected to be slight. And though U.S. production is expected to decline every month in the second half of the year, production in December of this year will still be higher than production during every month last year.

Politics › Vladimir Putin Russian President 'missing' by DaBullIT(op): 12:18am On Mar 14, 2015
There is speculation in Moscow the Ukraine crisis and slaying of an opposition politician has caused a breakdown in Vladimir Putin's health.

But another theory, advanced by the lawyer of murdered Boris Nemtsov, was that the strongman may be lying low because he is "afraid" of an assassination bid.

Putin loves to be seen as an ever-present action man, but the Russian president has been absent from public view for a week.

His retreat from the limelight coincides with a looming sense of economic crisis, and shocking allegations that a police figure close to a key Putin ally - the ruler of Chechnya Ramzan Kadurov - ordered Nemtsov's brutal killing.

The 62-year-old's unusual absence has dented his tough guy image, according to some correspondents.

His aides scrambled to explain he was healthy and his macho handshake remained so strong "it breaks your hand".

But on Thursday he failed to attended a key session with his FSB secret service, postponed another important meeting over a breakaway Georgian region, faced claims his government could resign, as well as allegations that one of his closest ex-KGB allies, Igor Sechin, boss of Rosneft, was on the point of quitting.

A day earlier he aborted a trip to Kazakhstan with a source in the ex-Soviet republic claiming he was ill.

Putin was last seen in public when he met with Italian Prime Minister Matteo Renzi on 5 March.

Official pictures have emerged of meetings since then, but rumours say these in fact took place earlier before his sudden and unexplained disappearance.

Getty Not Seen: Vladimir Putin has not made a public appearance for a week
Nemtsov's lawyer claimed Putin may be scared over the high profile murder yards from the Kremlin, suggesting the Russian leader maybe in hiding fearing an assassination bid.

"Perhaps Putin, even completely sincerely, was bewildered and even afraid," said Vadim Prokhorov.

"Because if you can do that next to the Kremlin, then is it not possible to do it along the route of the presidential motorcade?"

In December, Putin brushed aside claims he could be overthrown.

"I can assure you that we don't have palaces, so a palace coup isn't really possible.

Demotix Killed Leader: Boris Nemtsov was the Russian opposition killed in Moscow
"The official presidential residence is the Kremlin.

"It is well protected."

Lately the Kremlin tsar has been under more pressure than at any time in his 15 years at the top of Russian politics.

The West's furious reaction to his invasion of Crimea and support for rebels in eastern Ukraine has led to sanctions which have thrown the Russian economy into crisis.

The Nemtsov killing has opened subterranean battles inside his entourage.

PA Russian Speculation: One theory suggests President Putin's low profile is due to assassination fears
And the low oil price has added to his financial woes, while Britain announced the prime minister will follow Chancellor Angela Merkel and not attend a major Moscow military fanfare to mark the 70th anniversary of the end of World War Two in May.

Spokesman Dmitry Peskov dismissed the health speculation over Putin as "spring fever".

The leader was "holding meetings all the time" to solve the "crisis".

"There is no need to worry. Everything is fine," said Peskov, not explaining why Putin did not make an appearance to disarm the rumour-mongers.

The spate of speculation over his condition recalled regular health scares over his predecessor Boris Yeltsin, and a clutch of geriatric Soviet leaders.

nortcentrallord:
Why don't you come out clean and accuse GEJ that he is the mastermind of BH?

Let's not forget the earlier opposition of the northern elders when Ihejirika was pummeling the BH. Wasn't it the public outcry of these so called elders that led to his being relieved of his office?

this is democracy we are practicing in Nigeria. Take a look @ the Odi incident, wasn't that a genocide? OBJ could only get away with that because he did that to a minority, he wouldn't dare do that to the north. Aside all those politics, this fight is a fight between Nigerians. BH are Nigerians, it's not like Nigeria and Cameroun is fighting a war. No, it's Nigeria and BH. You just don't go their and kill people. There are processes. Right now, we are @ the last phase and bh and their surpoters WILL GO DOWN.
Well, I have always said GEJ is complicit in the continuation of Boko haram, either through negligence or non challant attitude or through direct communication after-all he's said severally that he knows who they are
He said he knows where the Chibok girls are , and today he confirms that he knows that boko haram members have traveled to Middle East , but he won't say where exactly ,

Outcry from the Northern Elders is the same as outcry from WHO,RED CROSS UN , USA , innocent civilians were being killed , All mighty USA that you hate so much try to pin point terrorists and bomb them, The Movie, American Sniper was based on true story , if you have watched it , you would remember a scene where a woman sent her kid to throw a grenade at US marines convoy, The sniper promptly took the kid out and the mother when she attempted to throw the bomb, My reference to that scene is that Even if USA is not perfect, they ensure they limit civilian casualties in any war scenario , they don't kill harmless , unarmed people , I watched video of Nigerian soldiers literally slaughtering people and putting them in mass graves , I also read about soldiers going on rampage in a northern state after soldiers were killed by Boko Haram members who has promptly fled the scene .

Your reference to OBJ in this matter is making a point, People intentionally blew the news out of proportion made it look like massacre, but the bottom line is the job was done , furthermore, i was in the north during and after Nigeria 99, Kaduna and Jos riot, soldiers were massacred Obj sent troops to that street in Kaduna , Armored tanks plummeted every building until what was left was a church and a mosque, but guess what, that worked too .

My point being you don't watch dangerous animals growing in your turf all in the name of decency , GEJ is the President , USA would have helped us end Boko haram in a few days, now we can't even be sure that Chad or Cameroon are doing this for us or for them

Politics › Extracts From Barcanista's Posts About Buhari by DaBullIT(op):
Just scrolling through shared posts as usual , i found these posts interesting , I am wondering what changed, Was he paid or is he under duress , or did someone else Hijack his username .

barcanista:
Below are the reasons I am clamouring for the man that Nigerians call the Amiable General.

1. INSECURITY
Contrary to popular opinion, Boko Haram struck on first on July 26, 2009 when Musa Yaradua was in power by attacking a police station. Immediately, the Government launched a joint Military task force.

On the Flip side in 1984 as the New Head of State, Muhammadu Buhari was faced with Maitatsine sect which started in 1980 under the government of President Shehu Shagari. Buhari took over the reins of power, he//Buhari// crushed the sect that had lasted for FOUR years within months and maitatsine group was nowhere to be found all through the remaining part of his administration.

The same Buhari that stopped Maitetsine, is the same Buhari that Nigerians are yearning for.

2. CORRUPTION
Since the birth of the Jonathan's administration we have heard countless number of corruption cases and executive lawlessness and how they are swept under the rug. In 2012, Three Years after the report nobody has been convicted or jailed. Fmr Aviation Minister Princess Stella N260 million Naira on just two cars for her official use. The Minister of Petroleum Diezani Madweke N10 billionOther corruption cases under the watch of Jonathan. Not forgeting the alleged unremitted billions of dollars.

On the flip side Muhammadu Buhari assumed power at a time when corruption was having its foothold. He constituted a Military tribunal to try corruption case. Many Politicians were detained, some freed eg Ojukwu, Jakande etc and some Jailed. Among High profile personalities to be jailed are Governors: Jim Nwobodo of Anambra (21 Years), Abba Musa Rimi of Kaduna (21 years), Awaal Muhammed Ibrahim of Niger State, Adamu Attah of Kwara State, Chief Melford Okilo of Rivers (21 Years), Abubakar Rimi of Kano(21 Years), His successor Sabo Bakin Zuwo (300years), Aper Aku of Benue State(21 years). Prof Ambrose Ali of Bendel State was convicted for diversion of money belonging to the state, he was handed 100 Years imprisonment but was released after Sir Igbenedion paid a fine on his behalf. Many other politicians and businessmen were convicted for one financial crime or the other. Buhari also went out of his way, to get Umaru Dikko repatriated through the backdoor from the UK, for him to face justice. Though some may say it was not a legitimate strategy, but the fact remains that it was patriotic.
barcanista:
3. EXECUTIVE RASCALITY
Under the Jonathan's administration we have witnessed lots of lawlessness from officers of the government and friends of the President. The Rivers state debacle, the Ekiti , the power show between now AIG Joseph Mbu and Governor Amaechi, the harassment of the Speaker of the House of representative by the Military, the harrassment of some opposition leaders by the Military on the eve of Ekiti polls, the harassment of honorable members of House of Reps by the Police force and other cases. To be fair with the President, all these didn't start from his administration. Obasanjo government did even worse in Anambra and Lagos especially.

On the oither side, General Buhari launched War Against Indiscipline in 1984, he ensured that officers of government and the public conform to absolute discipline. From the street traders to the Teacher to the Head of State himself. Sanitation exercise was introduced in all States Capital. Some may argue that he was brute and harsh, but the bottom line is discipline was instilled.

4. ECONOMY AND INFRASTRUCTURE
Unempoyment rate in on the increase, Key infrastructures are missing. The Government in January 2012 had promised 3 Refineries to be built before the second half of 2013, they went further to sign agreement worth billions with a foreign firm. The existing refineries were promised upgrade yet nothing has changed. Though, I commend him for promoting local manufacturers in the cement and and agricultural sector, but the insincerity in policy implementation and frauds within the system means nothing significant can be achieved or will be achieved other than mediocrity. Our reserves and ECA are empty with rising debt, yet we cant point to significant improvement.

On the other side, Muhammadu Buhari inherited a dwindling economy fraught with graft from Shehu Shagari. Rather than devaluate the naira which was a pre-condition for IMF's bailout, Buhari instead employ austerity measures and counter trade. Like with every austerity policy, jobs were lost temporarily but it only can get better. Through his magnanimity, patriotism and managerial prowess, he cut inflation rate from 23% to 5%. As Petroleum Chairman/NNPC Chief, The Warri/Ekpan Petrochemical Plant, the Portharcourt II Refinery and the Kaduna Refinery was initiated by him. The Warri/Ekpan Petrochemical Plant was later merged with Warri Refinery and renamed Warri Refining Petrochemical Company. Portharcourt II Refinery was also merged with the Old Portharcourt Refinery and Kaduna Refinery stand alone. This Can be confirmed from the official website. http://www.nnpcgroup.com/nnpcbusiness/subsidiaries/phrc.aspx http://www.wrpcnnpcng.com/about2.htm. As PTF Boss, he did lots of developmental jobs from Infrastructures in schools to equipment and drugs in hospitals, to road construction, to mass transit scheme etcetra.

Muhammadu Buhari has served the nation meritoriously. Ideally, he should relax to enjoy time with his Grandchildren in his Daura country home. Sadly, we can't allow him rest while the system go in ruins. Hence my total and unflinching support for the second coming of General Muhammadu Buhari

THE Federal Government said yesterday it does not have any evidence yet linking Boko Haram with the Islamic State of Iraq and Syria (ISIS).
Coordinator of the National Information Centre, Mike Omeri, who spoke with reporters with other security chiefs, said it was an act of desperation by the Boko Haram sect to be identifying with the ISIS.
“It can best be described as an act of sympathy and desperation by the sect to be identifying with ISIS; it is unacceptable.
“We wish to state that there is no evidence that the IS operates in Nigeria and the latest attempt by Boko Haram to identify with the group is an act of desperation aimed at seeking attention and possible assistance from outside in the face of the crushing defeat they are suffering in the hands of the Nigerian Armed Forces and other regional collaborators.
“The fact of the matter is that Nigeria and her neighbors are pushing the insurgents away from their strongholds, capturing many of them and destroying several of their facilities,” he said.

He knows where the girls are, but didn't make any attempt to rescue them

How he knows everything about where the B.H members are at every point in time , but refuses to tell the world

How He denied any claims of Boko Haram and Isis links

But turns around today to say he has always known that they are foreign trained

WHY THIS CONSPIRACY THEORY??

Why should a sitting president offer u tinubu an interim VP.... But I trust Mr. Tinubu if he can get such offer he will surely jump at it, because
tinubu is a strategic opportunist!!

I am not supporting GEJ’s government but Mr Tinubu I don’t believe your story
As if you didn't read news about the proposed interim Govt

Were we not told that their 'new foundlove' OBJ is a staunch obgoni member?

So they accept obj (an ogboni member as I read) and reject gej because of the same ogboni (though not proven he is a member).

A Yoruba elder being an Ògbóni is a rite of passage, tradition and culture, until the whites came anyways

But for Otuoke clueless, it is prostitution of culture, desperate need for acceptance and of course an effort to stick around longer as president
