I never knew I had the propensity for my pancreatic gland to mess up and drive my sugar levels haywire.

I've never really paid much attention to sugar sickness or diabetes. Always had that thought of "it can't be me".

So, with the lockdown, we had the house stocked up with all sorts. Biscuits, sodas, syrups of all sorts, alcohol, etc.

It was a take and go with not much of moving around really except the bedroom to the kitchen, bath, and toilet.

After a while, I realized I hadn't stooled in about a week, I was constantly getting dehydrated and gulping water in volume. No matter what I forced my self to eat because my this time I was beginning to lose my sense of taste and smell, I'd still feel empty and hungry from the inside and was fast emanciating.

To compound it all, I had zero malaria symptoms and decided I could get fruits to help with the stopping by the 10th day of not stopping.

I was consuming all sorts of fruits and piling up the sugar, while my wife would make me salt and sugar solution to keep me rehydrated lol. After that, she'd fix me a huge jug of Ribena syrup plus akamu with enough sugar.

Oga I nearly die before she rush me enter car around 12am run go hospital when I begin breathe like radiator wey dey overheat.

Sometimes this year,before the start of covid-19 wahala in this country,i went for a wedding somewhere in osun state. So before leaving the hotel I stayed,i wanted to put a little mischief in my dressing. After finished putting on my aso-ebi,i put a blue wrist band on my left hand and a red and yellow wristbands on my right hand.(this is a very loud way of revealing myself as an airlord,but the h.s around won't know.except someone revealed it to him).


After getting to the venue,some street boys were at the venue for freebies. While walking from the car-park to the event center,i noticed a two guys among the street boys looking at me with intensity,i was feeling up to some mischief so I slowed down my pace,looked from the first person to the second person,then let my gaze lingered on the first person.the boy was also staring deeply at me.i wanted to engage him,so I looked at my right hand and looked back at him.that was it,the two boys smiled and start matching towards me,when they got to me,the first guy was the one who talked first but I noticed like other young cultists,he was very rude and unreasonable(in all fairness,my evaluation was that he would be the better one among the duo.that's why I fixed my gaze on him.i thought he would be a reasonable to relate with.how wrong I was).he was talking aggressively and very loudly,such that people's gaze were focused on us. To avoid further embarrassment,i continued inside the hall and pretended as if nothing happened,but I was boiling inside.


After about 45 mins,i got up and went back outside and looked for the two boys.i saw them and beckoned on them to come closer.the annoying chap was still been himself,he was now threatening to cause chaos on that spot.i ignored him and call the cool-headed chap to follow me,i took him to my car,unlocked the car and we went inside.then the following conversation ensued;

I thank God for your life.

The shiit almost killed me during this lockdown.

I kept feeling empty from the inside, would eat, and still feel as if I am starving. Lost all sense of smell and taste. Whatever the smell and taste of water I got would make me go nauseous. Stooling seized for over 10 days. Was killing myself with all sorts of fruits to ease my stooling.

I frigging almost died by the time my wife got me to the Hospital.

The first hospital had rejected me due to my labored breathing for fear of COVID 19.

When the last hospital finally accepted to take me in after what seemed like an eternity of monitoring me outside their premises for any signs of COVID and ran a test on me, my blood sugar level was tipping already at 51.5 when a normal level should be in the 4-7 region.

The doctors were shocked and concluded that 30 minutes later than I had come in and I'd have gone into a coma and possibly death.

I did almost three weeks in the hospital and still recovering.

A very very silent killer.

Stay away from sugar and sodas guys.

Diabetes is real.

Now I have become an advocate for this cause too.

I wished I had spoken out while I was going through the same symptoms and gotten swift advice like you just did.
