PRAYER FOCUS FOR TODAY 30/05/2025 TAKE BOLD STEPS (III) Bible Text: Judges 6:11-12 (NKJV) 11 Now the Angel of the LORD came and sat under the terebinth tree which was in Ophrah, which belonged to Joash the Abiezrite, while his son Gideon threshed wheat in the winepress, in order to hide it from the Midianites. 12 And the Angel of the LORD appeared to him, and said to him, "The LORD is with you, you mighty man of valor!" In the last two days I emphasized the need to courageously confront our challenges and to do so totally relying on God. Today I will be stressing the fact that taking bold steps in life involves taking actions that are daring in nature. Bold steps requires been audacious and also involves risk taking. The Bible text for today reveals to us the risk taking character of Gideon (Judges 6:11). Little wonder the Angel of the Lord chose to call him, "mighty man of valour (Judges 6:12)." Gideon risked the wrath of the oppressors of Israel (the Midianites and the Amalekites) if caught. Despite the danger involved, Gideon was not deterred from carrying out the daring acts. For every bold step we take in life, there is an element of risk taking involved. This covers all spheres of life, be it business, sports, academic pursuit etc. If we take our minds back to the story of the four lepers (2nd Kings 7:3- and that of David versus Goliath (1st Samuel 17:17-51), we can conclude that they were all risk takers. The steps they took were daring.Beloved, if your story and mine will change to the very best today, we must be willing to take daring steps. I pray for you today that the Almighty God plants in you the courage to confront the mountains obstructing your progress in life in the mighty name of Jesus. PRAYER FOR TODAY Cry to the All-powerful God: - Father, please awaken the giant within me and empower me to take daring steps that will lead to my elevation in life in the mighty name of JESUS. May the only true God grant your requests in Jesus' name. Have a wonderful weekend in Jesus' name. D. O. Oloruntobi https:///mercyarenaplatform PLEASE SHARE. |
PRAYER FOCUS FOR TODAY 29/05/2025 TAKE BOLD STEPS (II) Bible Text: 1st Samuel 17:45-46 (NKJV) 45 Then David said to the Philistine, "You come to me with a sword, with a spear, and with a javelin. But I come to you in the name of the LORD of hosts, the God of the armies of Israel, whom you have defied. 46 This day the LORD will deliver you into my hand, and I will strike you and take your head from you. And this day I will give the carcasses of the camp of the Philistines to the birds of the air and the wild beasts of the earth, that all the earth may know that there is a God in Israel. Yesterday, I emphasized the need to courageously confront our challenges in life. Beyond courage, the need to carry God along when confronting challenges must be emphasized here. In the Bible reading for today we see David with total confidence God confronting Goliath. David did not rely on his personal strength but counted on the ability of God (the Lord of hosts, the God of the armies of Israel) to give him victory. Another point to consider here is the fact that the gigantic and intimidating size of Goliath did not matter to David. He knew that his God was exceedingly bigger and greater than Goliath. In light of the above, regardless of how complex, gigantic or intimidating our challenges may be; we should confront them courageously and with unwavering confidence in the ability of the Almighty God to give us victory. I pray for you today that the All-powerful God moves every mountain standing between you and your breakthrough in Jesus' name. PRAYER FOR TODAY Cry to the Most High God: - Father, grant me the courage required to confront every obstacle to my breakthroughs in the mighty name of JESUS. May Jehovah Sabaoth grant your requests in Jesus' name. Have a fruitful day in Jesus' name. D. O. Oloruntobi https:///mercyarenaplatform PLEASE SHARE. |
PRAYER FOCUS FOR TODAY 27/05/2025 DON'T GIVE UP (IV) Bible Text: 2nd Kings 7:1 (NKJV) Then Elisha said, "Hear the word of the LORD. Thus says the LORD: "Tomorrow about this time a seah of fine flour shall be sold for a shekel, and two seahs of barley for a shekel, at the gate of Samaria."' Even when it appears that the enemies have boxed us to a corner God in His magnanimity creates a way of escape. This was our assertion yesterday. The story of the siege on Samaria by the Syrian King and His army (2nd Kings 6:23 to 2nd Kings 7:20) draws my attention here. According to our anchor scripture for today, God spoke through Elijah that Samaria's problem will be solved. In a way that was humanly unfathomable God stirred up the hearts of four lepers (2nd Kings 7:3-7) and used them to solve the problem of Samaria. Beloved, you may not know how God will solve your problem. As long as you are a child of God, He will scatter every siege against your life. He never fails. He said in His word that those who conspire against you shall for fall your sake (Isaiah 54:15). I pray for you today that the Almighty God disappoints every device of the crafty targeted against you in the mighty name of Jesus. PRAYER FOR TODAY Lift up your voice to the Lord of Hosts: - Father, arise in your power and let every gang up against my life be scattered in the mighty name of JESUS. May the Unchangeable Changer grant your requests in Jesus' name. Have a wonderful day in Jesus' name. D. O. Oloruntobi https:///mercyarenaplatform PLEASE SHARE. |
PRAYER FOCUS FOR TODAY 26/05/2025 DON'T GIVE UP (III) Bible Text: 1st Samuel 23:26-28 (NKJV) 26 Then Saul went on one side of the mountain, and David and his men on the other side of the mountain. So David made haste to get away from Saul, for Saul and his men were encircling David and his men to take them. 27 But a messenger came to Saul, saying, "Hurry and come, for the Philistines have invaded the land!" 28 Therefore Saul returned from pursuing David, and went against the Philistines; so they called that place the Rock of Escape. There are situations in life where it appears like the enemies are about to surround us or box us to a corner. This can happen in our places of work, business pursuit, among blood relations and other areas of life. Such situations make the hearts of men to fail. As life-threatening as such situations may be, God has a way of delivering His own children. In our Bible reading for today, King Saul was about to surround or corner David but God made a way of escape for him. This was one of the reasons David wrote in Psalm 27:2: "When the wicked came against me To eat up my flesh, My enemies and foes, They stumbled and fell." Regardless of the number of people that have ganged up against you or the nature of the gang up, do not give up. It may appear as if you have been cornered do not give up. The same God that made a way of escape for David, will also do the same for you. I pray for you today that the Almighty God causes every conspiracy against your life to fail in the mighty name of Jesus. PRAYER FOR TODAY Lift up your voice to the Great Shepherd: - Father, please let the people that gang up against me fall for my sake in the mighty name of JESUS. May the God that never fails grant your requests in Jesus' name. Have a fruitful week in Jesus' name. D. O. Oloruntobi https:///mercyarenaplatform PLEASE SHARE. |
PRAYER FOCUS FOR TODAY 25/05/2025 DON'T GIVE UP (II) Bible Text: 1st Kings 17:11-14 (NKJV) 11 And as she was going to get it, he called to her and said, "Please bring me a morsel of bread in your hand." 12 So she said, "As the LORD your God lives, I do not have bread, only a handful of flour in a bin, and a little oil in a jar; and see, I am gathering a couple of sticks that I may go in and prepare it for myself and my son, that we may eat it, and die." 13 And Elijah said to her, "Do not fear; go and do as you have said, but make me a small cake from it first, and bring it to me; and afterward make some for yourself and your son. 14 For thus says the LORD God of Israel: "The bin of flour shall not be used up, nor shall the jar of oil run dry, until the day the LORD sends rain on the earth."' In the Bible passage above, the widow of Zarephath and her son experienced what in modern day terms can be referred to as "Last hope." The "Last hope" can mean the only available means of survival now, or the last thing you can count/rely on when faced with calamity. We can also call it the final hope when experiencing adversity in life. In this widow's predicament Elijah surfaces with what appeared to be a demand that was very hard or impossible to meet. Yet in this dire situation, she complied with Elijah's request and the Almighty God stepped in to address the unpleasant situation. Elijah was the timely helper that God sent to her in disguise. Beloved, the Almighty God has not changed. As long as you a genuine child of God, He can send timely help to address any form of adversity in your life. I pray for you today that the Almighty God sends timely help to you on any matter you have lost hope on in the mighty name of Jesus. PRAYER FOR TODAY Lift up your voice to the Great I AM: - Father, in any area of life where I am at the verge of giving up, let there be a great turn around in the mighty name of JESUS. May the All-powerful God answer your prayers in Jesus' name. Have a pleasant day in Jesus' name. D. O. Oloruntobi https:///mercyarenaplatform PLEASE SHARE. |
PRAYER FOCUS FOR TODAY 24/05/2025 DON'T GIVE UP (I) Bible Text: Luke 5:4-6 (NKJV) 4 When He had stopped speaking, He said to Simon, "Launch out into the deep and let down your nets for a catch." 5 But Simon answered and said to Him, "Master, we have toiled all night and caught nothing; nevertheless at Your word I will let down the net." 6 And when they had done this, they caught a great number of fish, and their net was breaking. In the world we live in today, many people keep working and toiling day and night but end up disappointed because they have nothing to show for their labour. Such was the case of Simon Peter and his partners in our Bible reading for today. Peter and his partners had already given up and were washing their nets in a bid to round up their fishing activities at that point in time. Jesus Christ after using Peter's boat told him to try again. Peter complied and got an amazing catch of fish. Are you at the verge of giving up concerning your means of livelihood? Don't give up, try again. Jesus is the same yesterday, today and forever (Hebrews 13: . As long as you are operating in His will, just like He did for Peter, He will show up for you.I pray for you today that the Most High God grants you success were hitherto you have been failing in the mighty name of Jesus. PRAYER FOR TODAY Lift up your voice to the Almighty God: - Father, please grant me a life changing encounter in all areas of life where I have lost hope in the mighty name of JESUS. PRAYER FOCUS FOR TODAY 23/05/2025 SINGLED OUT OF THE MULTITUDE (IV) Bible Text: Psalm 23:5-6 (NKJV) 5 You prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies; You anoint my head with oil; My cup runs over. 6 Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me All the days of my life; And I will dwell in the house of the LORD Forever. The Almighty God can lift a man up right from the midst of his enemies and plant him on a higher pedestal in life. Our Bible reading for today tells us about David who was elevated in the very presence of the people that disliked him. Joseph was seriously hated and sold into slavery by his brothers. He also got framed and put into prison by Portiphar and his wife despite his innocence. God in His own special way, brought Joseph out of prison and promoted him using Pharaoh. The enemies of Joseph eventually bowed before him in Egypt; this includes his brothers, Potiphar and Potiphar's wife. Beloved, is your case like that of David or Joseph who were seriously hated? God will step into the matter right now and turn it around in your favour in Jesus' name. I pray for you today that God's favour singles you out from the midst of your enemies for uncommon promotion in the mighty name of Jesus. PRAYER FOR TODAY Lift up your voice to the Sovereign God: - Father, right in the presence of my enemies single me out for double honour in the mighty name of JESUS. May the Most High God answer your prayers in Jesus' name. Wishing you a splendid weekend in Jesus' name. D. O. Oloruntobi https:///mercyarenaplatform PLEASE SHARE. |

PRAYER FOCUS FOR TODAY 22/05/2025 SINGLED OUT OF THE MULTITUDE (III) Bible Text: Luke 4:25-26 (NKJV) 25 But I tell you truly, many widows were in Israel in the days of Elijah, when the heaven was shut up three years and six months, and there was a great famine throughout all the land; 26 but to none of them was Elijah sent except to Zarephath, in the region of Sidon, to a woman who was a widow. There are several perceptions to our Bible reading for today. But I will focus on one. The Bible tells us there were many widows in Israel but Elijah was not sent to any of them. God chose to send him to a widow in Zarephath, a foreigner. Why choose a foreigner? Why was no widow in Israel chosen? I strongly believe that the widow of Zarephath was favoured because God decided to be merciful to her. Remember that I stated two days ago that favour is a product of God's mercy. Beloved, have you been told that you are not qualified for certain things in life? By reason of God's mercy you can be favoured to get them. Men may have told you it is not possible. They may even have told you that certain feats are not achievable or a particular height is not attainable. Especially when there many people competing with you. If God decides to show you favour, you shall be singled out for success. I pray for you today that God's favour singles you out from the multitude for uncommon achievements in life in the mighty name of Jesus. PRAYER FOR TODAY Lift up your voice to the Unchangeable Changer: - Father, even when I find myself in the midst of highly qualified competitors, single me out for uncommon success in the mighty name of JESUS. May the God that answers by fire grant your requests in Jesus' name. Wishing you a pleasant day in Jesus' name. D. O. Oloruntobi https:///mercyarenaplatform PLEASE SHARE. |
PRAYER FOCUS FOR TODAY 21/05/2025 SINGLED OUT OF THE MULTITUDE (II) Bible Text: Mark 5:27-29 (NKJV) 27 When she heard about Jesus, she came behind Him in the crowd and touched His garment. 28 For she said, "If only I may touch His clothes, I shall be made well." 29 Immediately the fountain of her blood was dried up, and she felt in her body that she was healed of the affliction. The Almighty God can single out an individual out of his family for a transformational encounter (1st Samuel 16:1-13). God can single out a man from a community, town or city for a life changing experience (Genesis 26:12-14). He can separate a man from the crowd for an unforgettable encounter. Our Bible text for today tells us how the woman with the issue of blood pushed her way through the crowd to get her healing by touching the garment of Jesus. While others followed Jesus as on-lookers or spectators, she pressed in by faith and got a miracle. She got her miracle by applying faith in the midst of the multitude. Beloved, like the woman with the issue of blood, you can still touch Jesus Christ with your faith. A great miracle awaits you in Jesus' name. I pray for you today that by the mercy of God, He separates you from the crowd for His intervention in every area of distress in your life in the name' of Jesus. PRAYER FOR TODAY Lift up your voice to the God that never fails: - Father, please single me out for a life changing encounter with you in the mighty name of JESUS. May the God that answers prayers grant your requests in Jesus' name. Wishing you a highly fulfilling day in Jesus' name. D. O. Oloruntobi https:///mercyarenaplatform PLEASE SHARE. |
PRAYER FOCUS FOR TODAY 20/05/2025 SINGLED OUT OF THE MULTITUDE (I) Bible Text: John 5: 6 (NKJV) When Jesus saw him lying there, and knew that he already had been in that condition a long time, He said to him, "Do you want to be made well?" The Bible in John 5:1-9 gives us the account of a man who had been sick for thirty eight years and was laid by a pool called Bethesda. He was positioned among a great multitude of sick people (John 5:3) and they all were waiting for the stirring of the pool by an angel. The first person to get into the pool after the stirring by the angel gets healed. My focus here is not on the people but the multitude at the pool. Out of all the people gathered waiting for the opportunity to get healed, Jesus comes to just an individual - the man who had been sick for thirty eight years. Why did Jesus choose to give attention to just this man alone. Why single him out of the multitude waiting at the pool for divine intervention. Why was he favoured. Psalm 102:13 says: You will arise and have mercy on Zion; For the time to favor her, Yes, the set time, has come (NKJV). From the scripture above, favour is a product of God's mercy. When God decides to show mercy to an individual, such a person becomes highly favoured (Luke 1:30). Our Bible text tells us that Jesus saw that he had been in that condition for a long time and was moved to help him. Beloved, I don't know how long you have been battling with some specific challenges of life. One assurance I can give you is that God sees you and He will arise by reason of His mercy to address your challenges. I pray for you today that the mercy of God speaks for you concerning every unpleasant circumstances in Jesus' name. PRAYER FOR TODAY Lift up your voice to the Most High God: - Father, please arise in your mercy and let every problem that has persisted for long in my life be addressed in the mighty name of JESUS. May the merciful God grant your requests in Jesus' name. Wishing you a blessed day in Jesus' name. D. O. Oloruntobi https:///mercyarenaplatform PLEASE SHARE. |
PRAYER FOCUS FOR TODAY 19/05/2025 TRUE WORSHIP (III) Bible Text: John 4:22 (AMP) You [Samaritans] do not know what you are worshiping [you worship what you do not comprehend]. We do know what we are worshiping [we worship what we have knowledge of and understand], for [after all] salvation comes from [among] the Jews. In the last two days, we considered the fact that true worship of God is not limited to our physical location and because He is a Spirit we can connect to Him from anywhere without hindrances or barriers. Our anchor scripture for today gives us a vital information. This is the fact that deep or heartfelt connection to God in the place of worship is built on revelation. Jesus speaking here said the Samaritans were worshipping in ignorance but the Jews worshiped based on the knowledge of God that they had. This knowledge was actually passed down generation to generation from the time of Moses. However, beyond general knowledge, a personal revelation of God to an individual can positively affect the way such a fellow worships God. Revelations are decoded in our minds and ultimately move our minds favourably towards God, thereby provoking a deeper level of connection in worship. This is the kind of revelational knowledge Apostle Paul was referring to in Ephesians 1:18-23. I pray for you today that the Almighty God enlightens the eye of your understanding to provoke a deeper connection with Him in worship in Jesus' name. PRAYER FOR TODAY Lift up your voice to the Most High God: - Father, please give me a deeper understanding of who you are in the mighty name of JESUS. May the All-powerful God grant your requests in Jesus' name. Wishing you a fruitful week in Jesus' name. D. O. Oloruntobi https:///KFdHyzAXGWV3i3uNwao19Q PLEASE SHARE. |
PRAYER FOCUS FOR TODAY 18/05/2025 TRUE WORSHIP (II) Bible Text: John 4:24 (AMP) God is a Spirit (a spiritual Being) and those who worship Him must worship Him in spirit and in truth (reality). Yesterday we established the fact that true worship is not limited to any particular location (John 4:21) but the key point is that it should be a deep sincere and heartfelt connection with God (John 4:24). You may be wondering why location is not an issue in worship. From our anchor scripture we are told that God is a Spirit. This gives us two vital information. If God is a spirit being, distance is not a barrier in the spirit realm; so you can connect to Him from anywhere. Secondly, if God is a spirit, He is not limited by physical barriers unlike humans. Therefore it creates room for unhindered access to God. Jesus came into the midst of the disciples after His resurrection despite the fact that the doors were locked (John 20:19). As a spirit being He was not hindered. So we can connect from anywhere. The only thing that can disconnect us is sin. I pray for you today that the Almighty God broadens your understanding of your divine connection to Him in Jesus' name. PRAYER FOR TODAY Lift up your voice to the Unlimited God: - Father, please take me to a higher realm of worship with you in the mighty name of JESUS. May the God that never fails grant your requests in Jesus' name. Wishing you a wonderful day in Jesus' name. D. O. Oloruntobi https:///mercyarenaplatform PLEASE SHARE. |
PRAYER FOCUS FOR TODAY 17/05/2025 TRUE WORSHIP (I) Bible Text: John 4:24 (AMP) God is a Spirit (a spiritual Being) and those who worship Him must worship Him in spirit and in truth (reality). True worship is rare and grossly misunderstood in the body of Christ today. The Bible tells us in Revelations 4:24 (NLT): "You are worthy, O Lord our God, to receive glory and honor and power. For you created everything, and it is for your pleasure that they exist and were created." From the scripture above we can deduce that God created us according to His own desires and specifications. To please God things have to be done in line with His specification. In the encounter of our Lord Jesus Christ with the Samaritan woman (John 4:3-42) one of the things He addressed is the issue of true worship. This is found in our anchor scripture for today (John 4:24). The first point here is the fact that true worship is not limited to any particular location. We can worship God in the church, parlour, kitchen, toilet, bathroom, on the street, in the car etc. The implication of this is that true worship is not restricted to a specific place. The key point that must be noted when it comes to true worship is the fact that the emphasis is not about locations, mannerism, or outward actions, but should be a deep sincere, heartfelt connection with God. We see this in the lives of people like David, Paul and Silas in the Bible. Paul and Silas were held bound in prison yet they connected to God (Acts 16:25). The location did not matter. The fact they were in chains did not stop them from connecting to God in worship. I will be discussing further on this subject matter, God willing tomorrow. I pray for you today that henceforth nothing shall prevent you from worshipping God in Jesus' name. PRAYER FOR TODAY Lift up your voice to the One who is worthy of our worship: - Father, regardless of where I find myself, help me to have a deeper and a sincere connection with you in the mighty name of JESUS. May the only true God grant your requests in Jesus' name. Wishing you a blessed day in Jesus' name. D. O. Oloruntobi https:///mercyarenaplatform PLEASE SHARE. |
PRAYER FOCUS FOR TODAY 16/05/2025 DEALING WITH WORRY AND ANXIETY (IV) Bible Text: Hebrews 4:15 (AMP) For we do not have a High Priest Who is unable to understand and sympathize and have a shared feeling with our weaknesses and infirmities and liability to the assaults of temptation, but One Who has been tempted in every respect as we are, yet without sinning. Over the past few days, we considered God as our burden bearer and the fact that He loves us and cares about us. Drawing from yesterday's discuss; if God can take care of plants and animals, how much more we His children. Our Bible text for today reveals to us a vital information. Jesus Christ has good understanding of whatever our experiences may be because He once passed through the earth. Based on that experience, He knows how it feels. He is touched by whatever touches you. He feels your pain. However, like I stated on the first day of this subject matter, faith is of great importance here. It takes strong faith in God to accept the fact that He feels your pains and knows what you are going through. The absence of faith can easily make you to give up on God. I pray for you today that even in the fiercest battles of life that the Almighty God comes through for you in Jesus' name . PRAYER FOR TODAY Lift your voice to the Everlasting Father: - Father, I believe you feel my pains and whatever touches me touches you; help me to know that you are always by my side in the mighty name of JESUS. May the God whose mercy endures forever grant your requests in Jesus' name. Wishing you a highly fruitful weekend in Jesus' name. D. O. Oloruntobi https:///mercyarenaplatform PLEASE SHARE. |
PRAYER FOCUS FOR TODAY 15/05/2025 DEALING WITH WORRY AND ANXIETY (III) Bible Text: Matthew 6:25-26 (NKJV) 25 "Therefore I say to you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat or what you will drink; nor about your body, what you will put on. Is not life more than food and the body more than clothing? 26 Look at the birds of the air, for they neither sow nor reap nor gather into barns; yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not of more value than they? Yesterday we looked at the great invitation issued by the Lord Jesus Christ to as many that are burdened with worry and anxiety in life. Jesus offers rest. Jesus offers rest because He cares about us and also loves us. Going further today, our Bible passage tells us not to worry or entertain any form of anxiety because God accords serious priority to our well-being. We see that God makes provision for animals and plants and our supplies - the things we worry about are of great importance to Him (Matthew 6:25-32). This passage re-emphasizes the fact that God loves us and cares about us. Beloved, it is my passionate plea that we never give up on God or lose hope in Him. Let our trust or confidence in Him be unwaivering. He will surely see us through. I pray for you today that the Almighty God helps you to see hope even in the most challenging situations in life in the mighty name of JESUS. PRAYER FOR TODAY Lift your voice to the Ever Loving God: - Father, even as I encounter challenging situations in life, don't let me ever lose focus of the fact that you love me and care for me in the mighty name of JESUS. May the Compassionate God grant your requests in Jesus' name. Wishing you a highly fulfilling day in Jesus' name. D. O. Oloruntobi https:///mercyarenaplatform PLEASE SHARE. |
PRAYER FOCUS FOR TODAY 14/05/2025 DEALING WITH WORRY AND ANXIETY (II) Bible Text: Matthew 11:28-29 (NLT) 28 Then Jesus said, "Come to me, all of you who are weary and carry heavy burdens, and I will give you rest. 29 Take my yoke upon you. Let me teach you, because I am humble and gentle, and you will find rest for your souls. Yesterday we concluded that with faith or absolute trust and confidence in God we can lay our burdens (worry and anxiety) at God's feet because He cares for us. Today from our anchor scripture, we see Jesus inviting as many as are weighed down with the burdens of life to Himself. This invitation comes with a promise of rest. Not just ordinary rest but rest for your soul. This invitation shows clearly that Jesus cares about our wellbeing. It also shows that He loves us. However, we must note that accepting the offer of our Lord Jesus Christ and submitting ourselves willingly to Him helps in addressing our burdens. Beyond submission, our willingness to be tutored or guided by Him during the challenging periods of life also matters. Beloved, no matter how terrible the conditions producing worry and anxiety in your life may be, JESUS CHRIST offers you rest. Surrender your burdens to Him, you will find rest for your soul. I pray for you today that the Almighty God arises in His power to still every storm raging against your life that has resulted into worry and anxiety in Jesus' name. PRAYER FOR TODAY Lift your voice to the great God who truly cares: - Father, even in the midst of the storms of life, give me your peace that surpasses human understanding in the mighty name of JESUS. May the Merciful Father grant your requests in Jesus' name. Wishing you a splendid day in Jesus' name. D. O. Oloruntobi https:///mercyarenaplatform PLEASE SHARE. |
PRAYER FOCUS FOR TODAY 13/05/2025 DEALING WITH WORRY AND ANXIETY (I) Bible Text: 1st Peter 5:7 (KJV) Casting all your care upon him; for he careth for you. If you live in a country like Nigeria where the cost of living has become terribly high and making ends meet has become seemingly impossible; worry and anxiety may be inevitable. If you or any of your loved ones is passing through a life threatening situation, there may be cause to worry and anxiety may set in. However, no matter how terrible the conditions that make us to worry or anxious may be; our Bible text for today tells us to surrender our worries to God. In other words, instead of bearing the burdens or loads of worries, we can release them to God. Agreed that surrendering our worries may not be easy, bearing them does not in anyway address or provide solutions to the problems being encountered. Absolute trust and confidence in God (faith) goes a long way in helping us to release the burdens of our hearts to God. Our anchor scripture tells us that God cares about us. It takes faith to believe that He cares. It also takes faith to release the burdens of our hearts to Him. I pray for you today that the Almighty God arises in power to terminate everything promoting worry and anxiety in your life in Jesus' name. PRAYER FOR TODAY Cry to the great Burden Bearer: - Father, when passing through unpleasant situations in life, give me your peace and give me the grace to surrender my worries and anxiety to you in Jesus' name. May the Ever Loving Father grant your requests in Jesus' name. Have a pleasant day in Jesus' name. D. O. Oloruntobi https:///mercyarenaplatform PLEASE SHARE. |
PRAYER FOCUS FOR TODAY 12/05/2025 THE WORD AND YOU (VII) Bible Text: Colossians 3:16 (KJV) Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly in all wisdom; teaching and admonishing one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing with grace in your hearts to the Lord. Yesterday we were able to infer that the revelational knowledge derived from God's word about God and the world we live in promotes steadfastness and inspires us for great achievements in all spheres of life. As we rap up this discuss today, with the help of the Holy Spirit let us draw from our anchor scripture for today. It makes it clear that God's word supplies wisdom that covers or addresses all areas of life. It also tells us that the word of God is sufficient for teaching, counsel and spiritual music (melody, songs, hymns and psalms). We can therefore conclude that God's word drives all issues of life. PRAYER FOCUS FOR TODAY 11/05/2025 THE WORD AND YOU (VI) Bible Text: Daniel 11:32 (NKJV) Those who do wickedly against the covenant he shall corrupt with flattery; but the people who know their God shall be strong, and carry out great exploits. Yesterday we concluded that Access to kingdom benefits is pivotal on faith and that an individual's level of faith is proportional to the revelational knowledge of the word of God. Let's build on it further today. The second part of our Bible text for today tells us that: "The people who know their God shall be strong, and carryout great exploits." Strong in this context refers to steadfastness. Knowing God as stated in the scripture above refers to the revelational knowledge of who God is to us through His word, intimacy with God and divine encounters. Exploits in the scripture above refers to the following: - Making full use of God's grace upon their lives - Deriving benefits from the resources the Almighty God makes available - Living an impactful life and making exceptional marks in the sand of time - Achieving great things in life. Beloved all the points stated above are directly connected to the revelational knowledge derived from God's word about God and the world we live in. It is in the light of the above that it is imperative that we develop a high level of intimacy with God through His word. I pray for you today that God delivers you from every distraction frustrating your intimacy with Him in Jesus' name. PRAYER FOR TODAY Cry to the All-powerful God: - Father, please let anything preventing me from attaining intimacy with you through your word be destroyed in the mighty name of JESUS. May the Sovereign God grant your requests in Jesus' name. Have a great day in Jesus' name. D. O. Oloruntobi https:///mercyarenaplatform PLEASE SHARE. |
PRAYER FOCUS FOR TODAY 10/05/2025 THE WORD AND YOU (V) Bible Text: Romans 10:17 (NKJV) So then faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the word of God. Yesterday we learnt that aligning with God's word aids our fulfillment of destiny, while failure to do so may lead to the abortion of God's plan for our lives. Our Bible text for today tells us that God's word produces faith in us. This simply means that the word of God powers or drives faith. This comes with serious implications. One of such implications is the fact that with out faith it is impossible to please God and also makes it difficult to receive from God (Hebrews 11:6). The absence of faith leads to fear. Fear on the other hand opens the door for all manner of torment in an individual's life. Faith in God is the currency in God's kingdom for accessing healing, deliverance, prosperity, victory, promotion, miracles, signs etc. We can therefore infer that access to kingdom benefits is hinged on faith and that an individual's level of faith is hinged on or proportional to the revelational knowledge of the word of God. I pray for you today that as you make out time for God's word, that the eye of your understanding be enlightened in Jesus' name. PRAYER FOR TODAY Cry to the Most High God: - Father, please put an end to all forms of spiritual ignorance in my life. Grant me access to the revelational knowledge of your word in the mighty name of JESUS. May the Almighty God grant your requests in Jesus' name. Have a beautiful day in Jesus' name. D. O. PRAYER FOCUS FOR TODAY 09/05/2025 THE WORD AND YOU IV Bible Text: James 1:25 (NKJV) But he who looks into the perfect law of liberty and continues in it, and is not a forgetful hearer but a doer of the work, this one will be blessed in what he does. Yesterday we learnt that God responds to our obedience to His word with blessings. We also learnt that the blessing comes because obedience to His word makes God to be pleased with our ways. Our Bible text for today confirms the fact that obedience to God's word provokes blessings. Let us consider the story of Joseph in the Bible (Genesis 39:1-23). Joseph made up his mind to please God above by rejecting the opportunity to sleep with his master's wife. He ended up in prison but God brought him out of prison and made him Prime Minister in Egypt thereby fulfilling destiny. Like Joseph, if we please God by obeying His word, God's plans for our lives shall come to pass and we shall be elevated in life. I pray for you today that as you make up your mind to obey God in all your ways, may He bring His plans to pass in your life in Jesus' name. PRAYER FOR TODAY Lift up your voice to the Unchangeable God: - Father, please do not allow me to miss out on your plan and purpose for my life due to disobedience in the mighty name of JESUS. May the God that answers by fire grant your requests in Jesus' name. Have a splendid weekend in Jesus' name. D. O. Oloruntobi https:///mercyarenaplatform PLEASE SHARE. |
PRAYER FOCUS FOR TODAY 08/05/2025 THE WORD AND YOU III Bible Text: Joshua 1:8 (NKJV) This Book of the Law shall not depart from your mouth, but you shall meditate in it day and night, that you may observe to do according to all that is written in it. For then you will make your way prosperous, and then you will have good success. In the last two days we have been able to see from the Bible that it pleases God that we acquaint ourselves with His word and obey Him completely. From today's anchor scripture we can see that obedience to God's word comes with benefits. We are told that diligent study and obedience to God's word leads to good success in life. Obedience to God's word makes our ways to please Him thereby provoking blessings from God. According to the Bible in Psalm 1:2-3, it says: "But his delight is in the law of the LORD, And in His law he meditates day and night. He shall be like a tree Planted by the rivers of water, That brings forth its fruit in its season, Whose leaf also shall not wither; And whatever he does shall prosper." We can deduce from the scripture above that fellowshiping with God through His word comes with blessings. Beloved, between curses and blessing which do you prefer? Choose wisely. I pray for you today that the Most High God draws you closer to himself through His word in Jesus' name. PRAYER FOR TODAY Lift up your voice to the All-powerful God: - Father, please create in me an incurable obsession with your word in the mighty name of JESUS. May the Ever Loving Father answer your prayers in Jesus' name. Have a blessed day in Jesus' name. D. O. Oloruntobi https:///mercyarenaplatform PLEASE SHARE. |
PRAYER FOCUS FOR TODAY 07/05/2025 THE WORD AND YOU II Bible Text: Ezra 7:10 (NLT) This was because Ezra had determined to study and obey the law of the LORD and to teach those laws and regulations to the people of Israel. Yesterday we concluded that our primary reason for studying God's word is to know what He desires of us and go ahead to do it (obedience). We saw this in the life of Ezra a returnee from Babylon (Ezra 7:6) who prioritized knowing and obeying God's word. In continuation today, our Bible text for yesterday is retained. If you observe carefully in the world today, you will discover that many so called preachers or teachers of the word of God do not practice or obey what they convey in their messages to their audiences (followers). Their ungodly acts have led to the popular saying: "Do as I say, don't do as I do." This is very very wrong. The Bible testifies concerning our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ in Acts 1:1 thus: "Dear Theophilus: In my first book I told you about everything Jesus began to do and teach (NLT)." Jesus Christ was first a doer of the word before He taught others to do same. He was obedient to the core that Hebrews 1:9 also testifies about Him saying: "You have loved righteousness and hated lawlessness; Therefore God, Your God, has anointed You With the oil of gladness more than Your companions (NKJV).” Beloved, like Jesus Christ and Ezra God wants to use us. However, the big question is whether you and I are willing to know what He requires of us and the willingness to do what is required by obeying Him. I pray for you today that the Almighty God gives you the heart to seek Him through His word and obey Him in Jesus' name. PRAYER FOR TODAY Lift up your voice to the Most High God: - Father, please plant in me an unquenchable thirst to know more of you and to obey you completely in the mighty name of JESUS. May the Everlasting Father answer your prayers in Jesus' name. Wishing you a fulfilling day in Jesus' name. D. O. Oloruntobi https:///mercyarenaplatform PLEASE SHARE. |
PRAYER FOCUS FOR TODAY 06/05/2025 THE WORD AND YOU Bible Text: Ezra 7:10 (NLT) This was because Ezra had determined to study and obey the law of the LORD and to teach those laws and regulations to the people of Israel. Beloved, why do you study the word of God? This question is very important. What actually is your motive for studying the Bible? Are you doing so to be able to brag about the number of memory verses you can recite or how versed you are in the Scriptures? Perhaps, it may be so that you can quote so many scriptures when preaching or during biblical discussions in church/Christian gatherings. Our motives for studying God's word matters a lot. Our anchor scripture for today tells us that Ezra's primary motive for studying the scriptures was to know God's word, obey it, before proceeding to teach others. In other words, Ezra's foremost desire was to know what God says in His word and obey it. Dear friend is your motive for studying the Bible similar to that of Ezra or a selfish one? Psalm 119:11 says: "I have hidden your word in my heart, that I might not sin against you." Our primary purpose for biblical studies as Christians is to know His word and to go ahead and obey him. If you have been studying God's word for the wrong reasons, my advice to you is that you repent today. I pray for you today that the Almighty God destroys in you every wrong motive for studying the Bible in Jesus' name. PRAYER FOR TODAY Lift up your voice to the Dependable God: - Father, please help me to respond appropriately to your word in the mighty name of JESUS. May the God that never fails grant your requests in Jesus' name. Wishing you a pleasant day in Jesus' name. D. O. Oloruntobi https:///mercyarenaplatform PLEASE SHARE. |
PRAYER FOCUS FOR TODAY 05/05/2025 PRAISE LEADS TO BLESSING Bible Text: Psalm 67:5-7 (KJV) 5 Let the people praise thee, O God; let all the people praise thee. 6 Then shall the earth yield her increase; and God, even our own God, shall bless us. 7 God shall bless us; and all the ends of the earth shall fear him. Yesterday we dwelt on the fact that praising God moves Him to make us prosper in all our endeavours on earth thereby provoking increase. Our Bible passage for today (same for yesterday), reveals to us that when we praise God it moves Him to bless us. According to one of our fathers of faith, a blessing is a command from God to all the hosts in heaven, on earth and beneath the earth to show favour to an individual. Whoever God blesses no man can curse and they excel to the point that they are envied by the people around them (Genesis 12:3; 26:12-14). Little wonder Proverbs 10:22 tells us: "The blessing of the LORD, it maketh rich, and he addeth no sorrow with it." Do you desire to be great in life? Like Abraham and Isaac, God's blessing can make it happen. Abraham was a man of altars. You can do the same by maintaining an altar of praise unto God and He will do the unimaginable in your life. I pray for you today that our heavenly Father, gives you the grace to set up and maintain an altar of praise unto Him in Jesus' name. PRAYER FOR TODAY Cry unto the One who is worthy of our praise: - Father, please help me to see reasons to praise you at all times in the mighty name of JESUS. May the sovereign God grant your requests in Jesus' name. Have a praiseful week in Jesus' name. D. O. Oloruntobi https:///mercyarenaplatform PLEASE SHARE. |
PRAYER FOCUS FOR TODAY 04/05/2025 PRAISE LEADS TO INCREASE Bible Text: Psalm 67:5-7 (KJV) 5 Let the people praise thee, O God; let all the people praise thee. 6 Then shall the earth yield her increase; and God, even our own God, shall bless us. 7 God shall bless us; and all the ends of the earth shall fear him. Due to the various forms of hardship being experienced by people globally today, Many have resorted to murmuring, all manner of complaints and even querying God. According to the Psalmist in our Bible passage today, when we praise God it leads to increase. The earth referred to in this passage does not necessarily connote farming but our activities on planet earth. If you choose to praise God at all times, including difficult times, He will arise for your sake and cause you to prosper in all your endeavours. This in turn leads to increase. Beloved, create adequate time to praise God on a daily basis. I pray for you today that our heavenly Father, gives you the grace to see beyond your immediate challenges in life in Jesus' name. PRAYER FOR TODAY Cry unto God: - Father, please help me to see reasons for praising you regardless of the circumstances in which I find my self in life in the mighty name of JESUS. May the Most High grant your requests in Jesus' name. Have a praiseful day in Jesus' name. D. O. Oloruntobi https:///mercyarenaplatform PLEASE SHARE. |
PRAYER FOCUS FOR TODAY 03/05/2025 THE LORD IS MY SHEPHERD VII Bible Text: Psalm 23:5-6 (NKJV) 5 You prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies; You anoint my head with oil; My cup runs over. 6 Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me All the days of my life; And I will dwell in the house of the LORD Forever. Some days back, we considered the fact that the Psalmist (David) was speaking or writing this Psalm out of his personal relationship or experience with the Shepherd of our souls. According to our anchor scripture for today, the Lord prepared a table for him in the presence of his enemies, anointed him and his cup ran over. Apart from these he had the guarantee of God's goodness and mercy till he departed this world. Why should one individual or sheep enjoy so much from the Great Shepherd? The answer is not far fetched. David was a man after God's heart. He sought to please God above other things and committed himself to doing the will of God. For David, intimacy with God was never to be traded for anything else. Little wonder the Great Shepherd did so much for him. Dearly beloved, just like he did for David, the Great Shepherd wants to do great things in your life. However, as God's sheep can you do what David did? If you do, your live will generate great testimonies like David. I pray for you today that the Almighty God gives you the grace to seek Him wholeheartedly and also to please Him in all your ways in Jesus' name. PRAYER FOR TODAY Lift your voice to the One who is Rich in Mercy: - Father, you are my Shepherd, let your goodness and mercy be manifested in all areas of my life in the mighty name of JESUS. May the Great Shepherd grant your requests in Jesus' name. Have a pleasant day in Jesus' name. D. O. Oloruntobi https:///mercyarenaplatform PLEASE SHARE. |
PRAYER FOCUS FOR TODAY 02/05/2025 THE LORD IS MY SHEPHERD VI Bible Text: Psalm 23:4 (NKJV) Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil; For You are with me; Your rod and Your staff, they comfort me. Yesterday we discovered that the ability of the sheep to recognize the Shepherd's voice makes guidance effective. The world we live in today is full of dangers and evil. The security measures put in place by various governments have proved to be grossly ineffective thereby promoting high levels of fear. Our Bible passage for today tells us that when we pass through places where danger lurks, we can rest assured that the Good Shepherd shall protects us from all evil. The increasing rate of insecurity in our nations today may call for serious concerns but our safety is guaranteed through the protective care of the Lord our Shepherd. I pray for you today that you find refuge under the wings of the Most High God in Jesus' name. PRAYER FOR TODAY Lift your voice to the One who is Mighty in Battle: - Father, you are my Shepherd, keep me safe and secured under your protective care and covering in the mighty name of JESUS. May the Lord of hosts grant your requests in Jesus' name. Wishing you a splendid weekend in Jesus' name. D. O. Oloruntobi https:///mercyarenaplatform PLEASE SHARE. |
PRAYER FOCUS FOR TODAY 01/05/2025 THE LORD IS MY SHEPHERD V Bible Text: John 10:4 (NKJV) And when he brings out his own sheep, he goes before them; and the sheep follow him, for they know his voice. Yesterday we learnt that Meekness and humility are basic ingredients of followership which are found in sheep and makes them submissive and loyal followers of the shepherd. Today we shall still focus on the anchor scripture used yesterday. It says the sheep follow the shepherd because they know his voice. In other words, they can distinguish the shepherd's voice from that of other people around. John 10:5 says: "Yet they will by no means follow a stranger, but will flee from him, for they do not know the voice of strangers." This means that the sheep has become so accustomed to the shepherd's voice and cannot be deceived by the voices of strangers. An important point comes to the heart here. As the Lord's sheep, do we hear when he speaks? When the Lord speaks are we able to distinguish his voice from that of strangers? Our Shepherd can only Guide us effectively if we hear His voice. Isaiah 30: 21 says: Your ears shall hear a word behind you, saying, "This is the way, walk in it," Whenever you turn to the right hand or whenever you turn to the left. The scripture above can only work for us if we are able to distinguish his voice from that of others. I pray for you today that the Almighty God opens your inner ears to hear his voice in the name of Jesus. PRAYER FOR TODAY Lift your voice unto the Most High God: - Father, you are my Shepherd, let everything preventing me from hearing your voice be addressed today in the mighty name of JESUS. May the God that never fails grant your requests in Jesus' name. Wishing you a blessed new month in Jesus' name. D. O. Oloruntobi https:///mercyarenaplatform PLEASE SHARE. |
PRAYER FOCUS FOR TODAY 30/04/2025 THE LORD IS MY SHEPHERD IV Bible Text: John 10:4 (NKJV) And when he brings out his own sheep, he goes before them; and the sheep follow him, for they know his voice. Yesterday we considered the fact that the shepherd is able to guide the sheep because they possess meekness and humility. Our anchor scripture for today tells us that when the shepherd leads, the sheep follow. Meekness and humility which are qualities of the sheep makes them submissive and loyal followers of the shepherd. As you claim to be a sheep of the great Shepherd Jesus Christ, are you submissive and loyal to Him? How meek and humble are you? Meekness and humility are basic ingredients of followership. Their absence makes shepherding frustrating. Where these qualities are missing, pride takes over. When pride takes over, the sheep cannot be led and eventually it results in a fall. I pray for you today that every virtue you need to be a true sheep, be planted in you in the name of Jesus. PRAYER FOR TODAY Lift your voice unto the Almighty God: - Father, you are my Shepherd, please destroy every seed of pride in me in the mighty name of JESUS. May the only true God grant your requests in Jesus' name. Have a pleasant day in Jesus' name. D. O. Oloruntobi https:///mercyarenaplatform PLEASE SHARE. |
and that of David versus Goliath (1st Samuel 17:17-51), we can conclude that they were all risk takers. The steps they took were daring.
