THE LORD IS MY SHEPHERD III

Bible Text:
Psalms 25:9 (KJV)

The meek will he guide in judgment: and the meek will he teach his way.

In the last two days we learnt that God is our Shepherd and He can supply all our needs. We also learnt that He can only carry out this function in the lives of His sheep (i.e. the people that are His).
With the Lord as your Shepherd you will enjoy His divine guidance.
However, it takes being humble to be led or guided. One unique quality of sheep is their meekness and humility. This makes it easier for the Shepherd to guide them. Our Bible text for today tells us that God guides the meek in decision making and teaches them His way.
We can conclude by saying God can only be our Shepherd if we willing submit ourselves to Him in humility.

I pray for you today that the Good Shepherd holds you by the hand and leads you in the way that you should go in the name of Jesus.

PRAYER FOR TODAY
Lift your voice unto the Most High God:

- Father, you are my Shepherd and I need your guidance; please give me the grace to submit myself completely unto you in the mighty name of JESUS.

May the great Shepherd grant your requests in Jesus' name.

THE LORD IS MY SHEPHERD II

Bible Text:
Psalms 23:1 (KJV)

The LORD is my shepherd; I shall not want.

Yesterday we considered who a shepherd is, his function and the fact that God is our Shepherd.
However, something caught my attention in Psalm 23:1. David (the Psalmist) did not say the Lord is our Shepherd but rather the Lord is my Shepherd. In other words, he was simply saying, I don't know about others but I can boast of the fact that the Lord is my Shepherd.
Beloved, like David can you confidently say the Lord is my Shepherd? Does He know you and do you know Him? Jesus Christ tells us in John 10:14:

"I am the good shepherd, and know my sheep, and am known of mine."

Do you really belong to His fold? If your answer is yes, I celebrate with you today but if your answer is no, Jesus is willing to make you His sheep or member of His fold today.
All a non member needs to do is to surrender completely unto Jesus Christ by receiving Him into his or her life as Lord and Saviour. Your sins will be forgiven you and washed away with the precious blood of Jesus and you will become His sheep from that moment onward.

I pray for you today that the Great Shepherd never withdraws His divine love from you in the name of Jesus.

Cry with all seriousness unto our faithful father:

- Father, in any way I have strayed away from your fold, please bring me back in the mighty name of JESUS.

May the good Shepherd answer your prayers in Jesus' name.

THE LORD IS MY SHEPHERD

Bible Text:
Psalms 23:1 (KJV)

The LORD is my shepherd; I shall not want.

A shepherd can simply be seen as someone who takes care of sheep. Psalm 100:3 says:

"Know ye that the LORD he is God: it is he that hath made us, and not we ourselves; we are his people, and the sheep of his pasture."

The scripture above tells us we are the sheep of God's pasture. If we are the sheep of God's pasture, He is our shepherd.
Shepherds play three basic roles which are:
- Supply the needs of the sheep
- Guide the sheep
- Protect the sheep.

God plays these roles in the lives of His children.
Have you received JESUS CHRIST into your life as your Lord and Saviour? If your answer is yes, then you can enjoy the benefits of God as your Shepherd. Our anchor scripture for today gives us the understanding that we shall not suffer lack if God is our shepherd.

I pray for you today that the Almighty God takes special care of you in the name of Jesus.

THE POWER OF IDEAS IV

Bible Text:
Psalms 119:130 (KJV)

The entrance of thy words giveth light; it giveth understanding unto the simple.

Yesterday we learnt that intimacy with God especially with His word leads to the transformation of our minds into seeing things the way God sees them. This transformation of our minds leads to the generation of awesome ideas that bless the world around us.
A careful look at our Bible text for today sheds more light on this discuss. It says: "The entrance of God's words gives light and gives understanding to the simple." Light as used in this context means revelation. When quality time is spent with God by dwelling on His word we receive revelations (light) and understanding of that which hitherto seemed complex.
The revelations and the understanding received lead to the generation of great ideas which become solutions to the challenging and complex issues of life.

I pray for you today that as you become more intimate with God, that the Omniscient God opens the eye of your understanding to receive the interpretation of mysteries in the name of Jesus.

PRAYER FOR TODAY
Cry with all seriousness unto God (The Ultimate Creator/innovator).

- Father, as I spend quality time with you, please let the eyes of my understanding be enlightened to receive solutions to the challenges and complexities of life in the mighty name of JESUS.

May the Most High God grant answers to your prayers in Jesus' name.

THE POWER OF IDEAS III

Bible Text:
Psalms 1:2-3 (KJV)

2 But his delight is in the law of the LORD; and in his law doth he meditate day and night.
3 And he shall be like a tree planted by the rivers of water, that bringeth forth his fruit in his season; his leaf also shall not wither; and whatsoever he doeth shall prosper.

One characterics synonymous with innovators or generators of great ideas in the Bible is their intimacy with God. They never joked with their commitment to God (Genesis 39:7-9). They lived solely to please Him (Acts 13:22). They created quality time to fellowship with God in the place of prayers (Genesis 12: and The Word (Ezra 7:10). Their intimacy with God imparted positively over their lives.
Ideas are products of our thoughts. Thoughts on the other hand are powered by understanding. Understanding is a function of the contents of the mind. The contents of the mind as a lot to do with what the mind receives through the sense organs (eyes, ear, nose, tongue and touch).
A man that is intimate with God creates quality time to dwell on His Word. Time spent on God's word leads to the renewal or transformation of the mind to be like that of God ( II Corinthians 3:18). We know that God is the Ultimate Creator/Innovator. If man's mind is transformed to be like that of God, it leads to the generation of great ideas and the individual becomes a solutions provider. Little wonder our anchor scripture says whatever such a man engages in prospers (Psalm 1:3).

I pray for you today that the Almighty God draws you nearer today and makes you the answer to the prayers of many in the name of Jesus.

Cry with all seriousness unto the dependable God:

- Father, please take me into a deeper realm of intimacy with you so that you can use my life to bless and draw many people unto yourself in the mighty name of JESUS.

THE POWER OF IDEAS II

Bible Text:
Exodus31:2-3 (KJV)

2 See, I have called by name Bezaleel the son of Uri, the son of Hur, of the tribe of Judah:
3 And I have filled him with the spirit of God, in wisdom, and in understanding, and in knowledge, and in all manner of workmanship.

Yesterday we considered the fact that the inspiration of the spirit of God can generate great ideas in us. Today we shall move further.
The journey between where you are now and where you desire to be can be made possible through great ideas. When God showed Joseph his future through dreams, possibly he would not have known that it will come to pass through just one idea (solution). Just from sharing one idea, his status changed from prisoner to Prime Minister.
When the Holy Spirit generates great ideas in you, you become a carrier of solutions or solutions provider. Joseph was a solutions provider in Portiphar's house, in prison and in the palace (Genesis 39:1-23). Little wonder it finally led to his elevation.
Our Bible passage today reveals to us a man called Bezalel who became a solutions provider to the nation of Israel because he was inspired by the spirit of God.
Like Joseph and Bezalel, God wants to use you too. Are you born again and are you field with the Holy Spirit? If your answer is yes, then God can use you to solve the problems of men.

I pray for you today that the Holy Spirit transforms you into a repertoire of ideas so that you can be a blessing to your generation and beyond in the name of Jesus.

Cry unto the Most High God:

- Father, please transform me into a carrier of solutions and let men from far and near be drawn to you through me in the name of JESUS.

THE POWER OF IDEAS

Bible Text:
Job 32:8 (KJV)

But there is a spirit in man: and the inspiration of the Almighty giveth them understanding.

Ideas are powerful. In wisdom parlance, it is said that "Ideas rule the world." God can use just one idea to move you from an unpleasant situation to a pleasant one. A look into the story of how Joseph was brought out of prison to interpret Pharaoh's dream could be of help here (Genesis 41:1-57). After interpreting Pharaoh's dream, Joseph gave Pharaoh the idea of what to do in order to address the problem revealed by the dream.
Joseph's elevation to the position of prime minister was actually as a result of the solution (idea) he offered to Pharaoh. If you read Genesis 41: 37-44, you will discover that Pharaoh promoted Joseph not just because of the interpretation of the dreams but the solution he offered the king.
Joseph acknowledged God as the source of his abilities and Pharaoh also acknowledged Him (Genesis 41:38). Our Bible text for today reveals to us that God's inspiration gives understanding. The Almighty God that inspired Joseph is still alive today. He can give us ideas that will change our lives to the very best for ever.

I pray for you today that the Holy Spirit generates in you outstanding ideas that will lead to transformational breakthroughs in your life in the name of Jesus.

Cry unto the the Unlimited God:

- Father, please give me great ideas that will open multiple doors of blessings unto me in the wonder working name of JESUS.

THE ULTIMATE PRICE V

Mark 16:17-18 (KJV)

17 And these signs shall follow them that believe; In my name shall they cast out devils; they shall speak with new tongues;
18 They shall take up serpents; and if they drink any deadly thing, it shall not hurt them; they shall lay hands on the sick, and they shall recover.

Beloved the benefits of the salvation Jesus Christ offers us are many but as we conclude this series today we shall look at a few more.
From our Bible passage for today we see that beyond casting out demons, believers are blessed with the following:
- Empowered to speak with new tongues (baptism of the Holy Spirit).
- They can take up serpents without being harmed.
- They are protected from deadly substances.
- If they lay hands on the sick they shall recover.
From the benefits listed above we can infer that believers are meant to be carriers of God's grace for doing divers miracles signs and wonders wherever they go.
We are empowered through the Holy Spirit to proffer solutions to people's problems. In fact we are the answer to the prayers of people around us.
The big question is: are we truly manifesting this grace or can only be seen as mere spectators in the body of Christ?
Remember, Jesus Christ paid the ultimate price for this benefits that are freely given to us.

I pray for you today that the power of God be manifested through you wherever you go in the name of Jesus.

PRAYER FOR TODAY
Cry unto the the Almighty God:

- Father, please make me a carrier of your anointing and use me to perform divers miracles, signs and wonders everywhere I go in the mighty name of JESUS.

PRAYER FOCUS FOR TODAY 21/04/2025

THE ULTIMATE PRICE IV

Bible Text:
Mark 16:17 (NKJV)

And these signs will follow those who believe: In My name they will cast out demons; they will speak with new tongues.

In continuation of our focus on the benefits of Christ's salvation, we shall consider victory over forces of darkness as a benefit given to believers through the death and the resurrection of our Lord and Saviour, Jesus Christ.
Our Bible passage for today, captures what Jesus told the disciples after His resurrection.
Jesus states unequivocally that those who believe in Him shall cast out demons in His name. In other words believers have been licensed or empowered through Jesus Christ to exercise authority over forces of darkness.
It is rather unfortunate in the world we live in today, that believers exhibit high level of fear or chicken out completely when it comes to the issue of forces of darkness. This ought not to be so. God does not lie.

"God is not a man, that he should lie; neither the son of man, that he should repent: hath he said, and shall he not do it? or hath he spoken, and shall he not make it good?"
Numbers 23.19.

Beloved, if God has given us authority over devils, we should apply our faith to it and exercise it.

I pray for you today that the Holy Spirit grants you a deeper understanding of the victory you have through Jesus Christ.

Cry unto the the Most High God:

- Father, from today onwards, help me to live with the reality and the consciousness of the victory I have over forces of darkness in the mighty name of JESUS.

THE ULTIMATE PRICE III

Bible Text:
Romans 6:14 (NKJV)

For sin shall not have dominion over you, for you are not under law but under grace.

We shall continue today on our focus on the benefits of Christ's salvation by looking at another benefit today, which is dominion over sin.
From the Bible passage for today, we understand that the salvation package comes with a divine empowerment that gives us victory over sin. The word "Grace" has been erroneously interpreted as liberty or licence to continue in sin and still make it to heaven.
What the proponents of this wrong interpretation of grace have failed to realize is the fact that grace is actually a divine empowerment given to born again Christians to shun the acts that displease God and do the things that please Him.1st John 5.18 confirms this truth by telling us that whoever is born of God does not sin; but he who has been born of God keeps himself, and the wicked one does not touch him.

Little wonder the Bible also says:

Therefore do not let sin reign in your mortal body, that you should obey it in its lusts.
And do not present your members as instruments of unrighteousness to sin, but present yourselves to God as being alive from the dead, and your members as instruments of righteousness to God
(Romans 6:12-13).
We can therefore conclude that believers have access to the power to live a victorious life over the strangle hold of sin which is made available in Jesus Christ.

I pray for you today that the Holy Spirit quickens your understanding on the knowledge of who you are in Jesus Christ.

PRAYER FOR TODAY
Lift up your voice to the All-powerful God:

- Father, by reason of the finished work of salvation, help me live a victorious life over sin in the mighty name of JESUS.

May the Most High grant your requests in Jesus' name.

THE ULTIMATE PRICE II

Bible Text:
1st Peter 2:24 (NKJV)

Who Himself bore our sins in His own body on the tree, that we, having died to sins, might live for righteousness--by whose stripes you were healed.

Yesterday we learnt that the primary reason our Lord Jesus Christ's came into this world was to save us from our sins (Matthew 1:21) and the truth that His solution to sin restores access to God which was lost by man through Adam and Eve (Ephesians 2:14).
The package of salvation offered by our Lord Jesus Christ comes with a lot of benefits. One of such benefits is stated in our anchor scripture for today, which is, divine healing.
Isaiah prophesied about this benefit when he said:

"But He was wounded for our transgressions, He was bruised for our iniquities; The chastisement for our peace was upon Him, And by His stripes we are healed."
Isaiah 53.5.

It means our salvation package accords us the privilege to enjoy divine health and also to be healed from all sicknesses.
If you are a child of God and you have been battling with any sickness, I pray that His healing power locates you now in Jesus' name.

I pray for you today that the eye of your understanding be enlightened to see the benefits that are packaged into our salvation in the mighty name of JESUS.

Lift up your voice to the only true God:

PRAYER FOCUS FOR TODAY 18/04/2025

THE ULTIMATE PRICE

Bible Text:
Romans 5:6-8 (NKJV)

6 For when we were still without strength, in due time Christ died for the ungodly.
7 For scarcely for a righteous man will one die; yet perhaps for a good man someone would even dare to die.
8 But God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us.

The primary reason of Jesus Christ's coming into this world was to save us from our sins (Matthew 1:21). Sin became a problem through Adam and Eve's disobedience to God (Genesis 3:1-24). If there was any damage that sin caused, it was separation or disconnection from the presence of God (Genesis 3:24).
From our Bible passage today, understand that Jesus Christ paid the ultimate price for our sins by dying on the cross of Calvary. By this great sacrifice, as many as believe in Jesus Christ and have received Him into their lives as Lord and Saviour are reconnected back to God (Ephesians 2:13-16).
Beloved if you have genuinely surrendered your life to Him, you now have access to God through Jesus Christ. You don't need a priest or a human intermediary to connect to God. This is evidenced in the curtain leading into the most holy part of the temple being torn into two from top to bottom (Matthew 27:51).
If you are a user of this devotional and you are yet to surrender your life to Jesus Christ, I advice you to do so now. It will be the best decision you ever took in life. As a true child of God everything that is accessible to Jesus Christ is accessible to you.

I pray for you today that God opens your eyes to see the things that are accessible to us through Christ's salvation in the mighty name of JESUS.

PRAYER FOR TODAY
Lift up your voice to the gracious God:

- Father, by reason of your mercy grant me access to every benefit that Christ paid for through the ultimate sacrifice on the cross in the mighty name of JESUS.

UNCOMMON BREAKTHROUGH III

Bible Text:
Exodus 14:21-22
21. And Moses stretched out his hand over the sea; and the LORD caused the sea to go back by a strong east wind all that night, and made the sea dry land, and the waters were divided.
22. And the children of Israel went into the midst of the sea upon the dry ground: and the waters were a wall unto them on their right hand, and on their left.

The unforgettable experience of the children of Israel at the Red Sea comes under our focus for today.
Pharaoh and the Egyptian army thought they had the Israelites cornered and there was no way of escape for them. However, our God who specializes in making ways where there are no ways made a way of escape for His children through the Red Sea.
God said in His word in Isaiah chapter 43 verse 17:

"Behold, I will do a new thing; now it shall spring forth; shall ye not know it? I will even make a way in the wilderness, and rivers in the desert."

Beloved, the enemies may think they have got you cornered. As long as you are a true child of God, the Almighty God will arise on your behalf and give them a shocker.
Our God is the same, yesterday, today and forever (Hebrews 13:. What he did for Israel at the Red Sea, he can still do for you and I today.

I pray for you today that where others are stuck, God makes way for you in Jesus' name.

PRAYER FOR TODAY
Lift up your voice to the great way maker:

- Father, in the face of stiff opposition, please make way for me where there is no way and divinely favour me for uncommon breakthroughs in the mighty name of JESUS.

May the God that never fails answer your prayers in Jesus' name.

UNCOMMON BREAKTHROUGH II

Bible Text:
Genesis 26:12-14
12. Then Isaac sowed in that land, and received in the same year an hundredfold: and the LORD blessed him.
13. And the man waxed great, and went forward, and grew until he became very great:
14. For he had possession of flocks, and possession of herds, and great store of servants: and the Philistines envied him.

The Bible in Genesis 26:1-14 reveals to us a remarkable experience of Isaac in the land of the philistines. During the period of famine or what may be likened to modern day economic hardship, Isaac prospered tremendously.
Isaac obeyed simple instructions from the Almighty God not to go to Egypt but to sow in a land that God showed him. His obedience resulted in Him flourishing in the terrain of the philistines.
Our God is the same, yesterday, today and forever (Hebrews 13:. What he did for Isaac he can still do for us today.

I pray for you today that the Most High God reveals to you what to do in order to flourish even in the midst of economic hardship in Jesus' name.

PRAYER FOR TODAY
Lift up your voice to the miracle working God:

- Father, regardless of unfavourable economic conditions, please single me out of the multitude for uncommon breakthroughs in the mighty name of JESUS.

May the only true God answer your prayers in Jesus' name.

PRAYER FOCUS FOR TODAY 03/04/2025

UNCOMMON BREAKTHROUGH

Bible Text:
Luke 5:6-7
6. And when they had this done, they inclosed a great multitude of fishes: and their net brake.
7. And they beckoned unto their partners, which were in the other ship, that they should come and help them. And they came, and filled both the ships, so that they began to sink (KJV).

The Bible in Luke 5:1-11 reveals to us an uncommon encounter experienced by Peter. He had toiled all night on water but caught no fish and had nothing to show for his efforts.
He had given up on his mission when Jesus Christ found him washing his net and requested to use his boat to teach the people. After teaching the people Jesus instructed Peter to let down his net on the water to catch fish. Peter obeyed and got a rare net breaking catch that was too large for his boat. Peter had to seek the assistance of his partners in another boat because the catch was beyond what he could handle alone. Surprisingly, both boats were almost sinking because of this great catch.
We can describe Peter's great catch which was orchestrated by the Lord as an uncommon miraculous change of a hopeless situation. An hitherto fruitless situation gave way to what may be termed an uncommon breakthrough for Peter.
Beloved, like Peter God can give you a major breakthrough in an area where you have failed over and over again. Remember, with God nothing shall be impossible (Luke 1:37).

I pray for you today that the Almighty God causes you to succeed in all the areas you have been failing in the past in Jesus' name.

PRAYER FOR TODAY
Cry unto the All-powerful God:

- Father, please give me uncommon breakthroughs in all areas of my life where I have failed over and over again in the mighty name of JESUS.

May the Most High grant your requests in Jesus' name.

PRAYER FOCUS FOR TODAY 02/04/2025

THINE, O LORD, IS THE GLORY

Bible Text:
Matt.6.13
And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil: For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, for ever. Amen (KJV).

As we conclude our focus on the Lord's Prayer today, we shall consider God's glory.
By my little understanding, glory can be defined as extreme beauty. It can also be viewed as the honour ascribed to an individual because of such individual's achievements in life. For example, after defeating Goliath the women sang saying: "Saul has slain his thousands and David his ten thousands (1st Samuel 18:7). By implication, the woman ascribed more glory or a greater honour to David compared to King Saul.
From diverse biblical texts, we realize that the greatest Glory belongs to God. We also know from the Bible that God frowns at any attempt to ascribe His glory unto others.
According to the word of God:

"The heavens declare the glory of God; and the firmament sheweth his handywork (Psalm 19:1)."

From the scripture above, God's works of creation reflect His glory.
As children of God (genuinely Born Again Christians), our lives are expected to reflect God's glory.

I pray for you today that the glory of God be seen in your life wherever you go in Jesus' name.

PRAYER FOR TODAY
Cry unto the Magnificent God:

- King of glory, beautify my life today and let everything promoting shame in my life be terminated permanently in the mighty name of JESUS.

May the King above all kings grant your requests in Jesus' name.

Today and beyond, your life will radiate God's glory in Jesus' name.

THINE, O LORD, IS THE POWER

Bible Text:
Matt.6.13
And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil: For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, for ever. Amen (KJV).

All glory to the Most High God for bringing us into the month of April, 2025. It is certainly of His mercy that we are not consumed. May His name be praised forever.
The Bible says:

"Thine, O LORD, is the greatness, and the power, and the glory, and the victory, and the majesty: for all that is in the heaven and in the earth is thine; thine is the kingdom, O LORD, and thou art exalted as head above all (1st Chronicles 29:11)."

The Bible passage above tells us that power belongs to God. Power can be viewed as:
- Being in charge or control.
- Ability to influence men, situations, or circumstances.
- Ability to make things happen .

Beloved All power belongs to God. He uses His power in favour of His children. In other words, God uses His power to favour the course of genuinely Born Again Christians.
On the other hand God's power works against the enemies of His children. The biblical account of how God delivered the Israelites from the strangle hold of Pharaoh and the Egyptians is a good example.
Are you a true child of God? If your answer is 'Yes', then God's power will definitely work in your favour. If you are not a child of God, kindly surrender your life to JESUS CHRIST today.

I pray for you today that the power of works in your favour in Jesus' name.

PRAYER FOCUS FOR TODAY 31/03/2025

THINE IS THE KINGDOM

Bible Text:
Matt.6.13
And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil: For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, for ever. Amen (KJV).

In the last two days we considered the fact that we live a world that is full of contaminations, corruption, deceptions, distractions and all kinds of evil.
We were also able to establish from the word of God the very truth that Jesus Christ is the only true deliverer and solution to this terrible world system.
Jesus Christ in His preachings and teachings made it clear that there exists another kingdom, governed by God. A kingdom that offers things far far better than what the world's system offers.
Citizenship of God's kingdom is made available through the salvation offered by our Lord Jesus Christ. If you are genuinely 'born again' you automatically become a citizen of God's kingdom.
However if you are not genuinely born again you still have the opportunity to do so now. The Bible says:

"From that time Jesus began to preach, and to say, Repent: for the kingdom of heaven is at hand."
Matthew 4:17.

The Bible passage above tells us we don't need to travel far or go to any mountain to become a citizen of God's kingdom. The kingdom is at hand simply means it is not far from you but within your reach. All you have to is to repent from your sins and surrender your life to Jesus Christ by receiving Him into your life as Lord and Saviour.

I pray for you today that the cares of this present world will not make you to miss reigning eternally with God in Jesus' name.

Lift up your voice to the Everlasting Father:

- Father, whatever you have to do to ensure that I make it to Heaven, please do it, in the mighty name of JESUS.

DELIVER US FROM EVIL

Bible Text:

Matthew 6.13
And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil: For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, for ever. Amen (KJV)

The world we live in today, is full of evil. Apostle Paul in his salutation to the Galatian Church says:

"Grace be to you and peace from God the Father, and from our Lord Jesus Christ,
Who gave himself for our sins, that he might deliver us from this present evil world, according to the will of God and our Father."
Galatians 1:3-4.

In the scripture above Apostle Paul stated that this world is evil. He also presents Jesus Christ as the deliver from the evil in the world.
To secure yourself from the evil in this world, firstly you must receive Jesus into your life as your personal Lord and Saviour and live in total obedience to Him.
Secondly you must cry unto God daily to deliver you from all kinds of evil in this world.

I pray for you today that you will not be a victim of the evil traps of this world you in Jesus' name.

- Father, as I carryout my daily activities in this world, please deliver me from all kinds of evil, in the mighty name of JESUS.

LEAD US NOT INTO TEMPTATION

Bible text:

Matthew 6.13
And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil: For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, for ever. Amen.

The world we live in, is full of corruption, all manner of spiritual contaminations, deceptions and distractions that can take a man away from God. The Bible in 1st John 2:16 reveals three things that can cause enmity between us and God which are:
- Lust of the flesh.
- Lust of the eyes.
- Pride of life.

These three things are products of the ungodly ways of this world.
However, the Bible also tells us that we are overcomers through the word of God that abides in us and the power of God that is at work in us.

1st John 2.14
I have written unto you, fathers, because ye have known him that is from the beginning. I have written unto you, young men, because ye are strong, and the word of God abideth in you, and ye have overcome the wicked one.

1st John 4.4
Ye are of God, little children, and have overcome them: because greater is he that is in you, than he that is in the world.

The two scriptures above make it clear that we can only overcome the temptations of this world through the help of God.

I pray for you today that God grants you the grace to detect the sinful ways of this world and avoid them in Jesus' name.

FORGIVE US OUR DEBTS II

Bible text:

Matthew 6:12 (KJV)
And forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors.

Apart from promoting hindrances in the life of the one who is offended, unforgiveness also causes bitterness in their hearts.
According to the Bible, a merry heart boosts our health, while bitterness in our hearts does the opposite.

"A merry heart doeth good like a medicine: But a broken spirit drieth the bones."
Proverbs 17:22 KJV

We can infer from the Bible text above that bitterness in the heart of the one who is offended works negatively against the individual's health.
We can therefore conclude that when you forgive those who offend you, you are actually doing yourself a favour and not the offender.

I pray for you today that God grants you the grace to forgive your offenders in Jesus' name.

Cry to the Almighty God:

- Father, please destroy every seed of bitterness in me, in the mighty name of JESUS.

FORGIVE US OUR DEBTS

Bible text:

Matthew 6:12 (KJV)
And forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors.

We shall continue with our focus on the Lord's Prayers for the next few days.
Forgiveness is one thing many people, including Christian's find difficult to do. Unfortunately, many are ignorant of the consequences of failing to forgive their fellow human beings the offences they committed against them.
The Bible tells us one consequence of failing to forgive those who offend us in Matthew 6.14-15:

14. "For if ye forgive men their trespasses, your heavenly Father will also forgive you:
15. But if ye forgive not men their trespasses, neither will your Father forgive your trespasses."

When we do not forgive those who offend us, God will also not forgive us our sins. When God holds our sins against us, it prevents Him from answering our prayers. Unforgiveness turns us into obstacles or enemies of our own selves.

I pray for you today that you will not be the stumbling block to your own progress in life in Jesus' name.

PRAYER FOR TODAY
Cry to the Almighty God :

- Father, please deliver me from me the spirit of unforgiveness, in the mighty name of JESUS.

OUR DAILY BREAD II

Bible text:

Matthew 6:11 (KJV)
Give us this day our daily bread.

Yesterday, we learnt that it's important to depend on God for the provision or supply of our daily needs.
Another message we can decipher from "Give us this day our daily bread," is the fact that our All-knowing God (Omniscient) knows ahead us what we truly need for each day.
Except the Almighty God opens our eyes to see beyond the physical realm, we may not know our actual needs for each day.
Since God sees or knows ahead of us the things we truly need, He makes provision for them ahead of time. One sure way of accessing this provision is by asking God for our daily bread.

I pray for you today that you will not miss your divine allocation in Jesus' name.

PRAYER FOR TODAY
Lift up your voice to Jehovah Jireh:

- Father, please do not allow me to miss my divine allocation for each day, in the mighty name of JESUS.

May our God The Great Provider answer your prayer in Jesus' name.

OUR DAILY BREAD

Matthew 6:11 (KJV)
Give us this day our daily bread.

Jesus thought His followers how to pray. We find this documented in: Matthew 6:9-13. One important prayer point raised by our Lord Jesus Christ among others is the one in our anchor scripture for today. It says "Give us this day our daily bread."
The Simplicity of this prayer point has made many us to take it for granted. For those who do not take it for granted, they have erroneously limited it to food. This prayer point simply emphasizes the importance of depending on God for our needs daily.
This prayer point also reveals the fact that without God, we can do but nothing. Our needs can be spiritual, material, mental etc. Whatever our needs may be, our God is more than able to supply them on a daily basis.

I pray for you today that you will not miss your daily provisions in Jesus' name.

PRAYER FOR TODAY
Lift up your voice to the All-sufficient God:

- Father, please supply all my needs today, in the mighty name of JESUS.

May our God the Jehovah JIREH answer your prayer in Jesus' name.

THE GIFT OF A MAN MAKES ROOM FOR HIM IV

Bible text:

Matthew 25:24-26 (KJV)
24 - Then he which had received the one talent came and said, Lord, I knew thee that thou art an hard man, reaping where thou hast not sown, and gathering where thou hast not strawed:
25 - And I was afraid, and went and hid thy talent in the earth: lo, there thou hast that is thine.
26 - His lord answered and said unto him, Thou wicked and slothful servant, thou knewest that I reap where I sowed not, and gather where I have not strawed.

The things we do or fail to do can have positive or negative impacts on our skills and talents. Many have lost God given opportunities due to laziness or slothfulness.
The Bible passage for today reveals the case of a servant who chose to bury his talent instead of putting it to use.
Let us consider his master's response:

His lord answered and said unto him, Thou wicked and slothful servant, thou knewest that I reap where I sowed not, and gather where I have not strawed (Matthew 25:26).

His master referred to him as a wicked and slothful servant. This response gives us an insight into one major reason the servant acted the way he did; which is slothfulness. No matter how skillful or talented you may be, if you are lazy or slothful, you cannot stand before men of great value.

I pray for you today that you will not be the stumbling block to yourself when it comes to God given opportunities in Jesus' name.

PRAYER FOR TODAY
Cry to the Most High:

- Father, deliver me from actions and inactions that can make me miss out on the opportunities you bring my way in life, in the mighty name of JESUS.

May the wonder working God grant your requests in Jesus' name.

THE GIFT OF A MAN MAKES ROOM FOR HIM III

Bible text:

Genesis 40:2-4 (KJV)
Gen.40.2 - And Pharaoh was wroth against two of his officers, against the chief of the butlers, and against the chief of the bakers.
Gen.40.3 - And he put them in ward in the house of the captain of the guard, into the prison, the place where Joseph was bound.
Gen.40.4 - And the captain of the guard charged Joseph with them, and he served them: and they continued a season in ward.

Service is a major means through which God announces us or showcases our skills and talents. Many have missed the opportunities to stand before great men due to their failure or refusal to serve with their skills or talents where need be.
In today's Bible passage Joseph was assigned the role of ministering in service to the needs Pharaoh's Cup bearer and Chief baker. He served them diligently and later interpreted the dreams they had to them. It was the interpretation of dream while serving the officers that God use to announce him before Pharaoh.
If Joseph had refused or failed to serve the officers he was assigned to and did not interprete their dreams, he would have lost the great opportunity of being invited to the palace and would never have become the prime minister of Egypt.

I pray for you today that you will not miss your God given opportunities in Jesus' name.

- Father, give me the grace to serve diligently with my skills and talents wherever you plant me in the mighty name of JESUS.

THE GIFT OF A MAN MAKES ROOM FOR HIM II

Bible text:

1st Samuel 16:18 (KJV)
Then answered one of the servants, and said, Behold, I have seen a son of Jesse the Bethlehemite, that is cunning in playing, and a mighty valiant man, and a man of war, and prudent in matters, and a comely person, and the LORD is with him.

Yesterday we learnt that a man's skills and talents if properly channelled, managed and backed with diligence, makes room for him and brings him before great men.
In our Bible passage for today, there was vacancy in the palace and a son of Jesse (David the shepherd boy) was recommended to the King by a palace official as the best candidate to fill that position.
David's recommendation was hinged on his musical skills and other virtues observed by the palace official. Are you enjoying any favour that can be attributed to your skill or talent?

I pray for you today that your skills and talents bring you before men that matter in Jesus' name.

PRAYER FOR TODAY
Lift up your voice to the Almighty God:

- Father, please do not allow my skills and talents to go unnoticed, let them announce me before men of great value and bring you glory in the mighty name of JESUS.

A man's gift makes room for him, And brings him before great men.

Most Bible scholars often limit the word 'gift' in our anchor scripture for today to acts of generosity. While others are of the opinion that the word 'gift' as used in this passage also refers to skills and talents.
I tilt more towards the latter school of thought. I strongly believe that a man's skills and talents if properly channelled, managed and backed with diligence, makes room for him and brings him before great men.

I pray for you today that your skills and talents open doors of opportunities in your favour in Jesus' name.
