In advanced countries like Canada and parts of Europe where they pay 20% taxes and above on incomes, your children go to free schools until they get old enough to go the University. School buses are free, transport is free, Health care is free or subsidized heavily. Water and power are taken care of.

You see your taxes in action.

But you have country like Nigeria, where politicians monopolize and loot Oil wealth for their families, with kleptomaniacs like Wike buying houses in Florida, they are now insatiable because we allow them loot in peace, and have grown the balls to ask for our blood in taxes to maintain their expensive lifestyles.. Akpabio and co. are jumping from one country to another, burning hard currency from the national coffers and patting themselves on the back.

It was an intiative for to designate some parts of their municipalities as home towns for some selected African countries. And if they cancelled the initiative, what's our business with that?. Customs revenue should not be capitalized on. It should be more of wage tax, corporate tax, property tax and etc. You need a lot of tax revenue to lift any nation.
