If you make a mistake to vote based on sentiment, the entire state will suffer for it.

it was not the people of Lagos that rejected the remaining but the students and Alumni of Unilag. the reason is different. Unilag is a premier institution with a name and reputation well established and distinguished. its like saying you want to rename University of Ibadan. With due respect to University of Abuja, it is not in the same pedigree of institutions as Unilag.

Unilag has a name that carried allover the world, University of Abuja does not. Even OAU would probably have been rejected by the students but for the fact that it was done under the military.

ABU, UNN, OAU, Unilag and UI are the country's top universities by pedigree and reputation...yes I agree standards may have fallen but when our Universities were Universities, these Universities ranked with the best in the world, as such they still carry a name. You will find academic research from lecturers from these universities cited all over the world. I doubt University of Abuja knows what research is. Of the 5, only OAU has changed its name and in my opinion to its detriment and it was changed because it was under the military. ABU always started life as ABU. University of ABuja is and has never been a top university, ever in its history so in my opinion there is no pedigree to preserve.

You mention UNN, Unilag< Ife, Ui, ABU and we can reel names of world renowned scholars and authorities. I have never heard of any professor from Abuja that is a Wole Soyinka, a chinua Achebe, an Adeogun a Teslim Elias, a Sam Aluko. an Ojetunji Aboyade etc etc etc. So with due respect there is no reputation to protect, even LASU is better rated than Uni ABuja and LASU in my day was a 2nd/3rd rate University for those who couldnt gain admission to the big 5.

When it comes to govt or APC, instead to scrutinized the officials, they would resort to witch-hunting, but for Labour party and Obidients, all their energy use for criticism would be relegated to background.

ThisDay, an Arisetv newspaper has been publishing an editorial full of lies and propaganda about the death of this man. Government is also human and there's a limit to which they can take, but when you push your luck too far in your agenda against the government just because of the need to feed the sentiments of your audience that hero worship and hails your attacks against the government, you then throw away your reasoning as a media house whose ethics should uphold proper investigation and fact checking before going on air. Very soon, ThisDay/Arisetv will get what they are looking for.
