A man was extorted at the Onitsha head upper iweka bridge by the police men attached around the police station around there.
These policemen take turns to man check point on Upper iweka on different days and they do no wear uniforms with names tags.

After the extortion of about N200,000 via the POS used by the unscrupulous policemen, the guy went to the PPCRU unit at the CPs office in Awka to complain. He was directed to see SP Ikenga, who appeared lukewarm over the matter. SP Ikenga Tochukwu directed the victim of police extortion of the unit to his 2ic ASP Bitrus who simply took down his statement asked a few questions and promised to investigate.

It's been almost 1 year, Awka police is still 'investigating', while the criminal police extortioners are still there on Upper iweka bridge every morning, extorting innocent citizens and having a field day. They never wear name tags on their uniform because they clearly do not want to be identified. They are rogues on uniform.

How do you convince the man not to shout on social media?

I am well convinced that the leadership of the police is aware of the criminal extortion being perpetrated by their men, but they look the other way.

They only pretend to want to discipline their errant officers when you shout on social media. It makes them uncomfortable.

If the police leadership really want police extortion to end, they know what to do. They will end it.

They have undercover units who can go out to fish out their errant police men. Men of the undercover unit do not dress like policemen. In fact, if they dress like young rich 'yahoo boys', get a Benz and go undercover on Benin-Ore road to fish out their corrupt men, the jails will be filled with errant police men.
