I know Professor Kayode Soremekun. He taught me Political Science at the University of Lagos. A great teacher. Congrats, prof. |
While I'm totally against the corruption in GEJ's administration, calling a former Nigerian President an "ineffectual buffoon" is distasteful and shameful. The Economist should stay within the ambit of fair comment and not hurl insults at the highest office in Nigeria. Didn't Lord Ashcroft, a long-time friend of British Prime Minister David Cameron, accuse him in 2015 of once sleeping with a pig? What name did they call their PM then? |
The truth is that this article is spot on. What sort of play do you think occurs between a dog and a tiger, anyway? The word 'platonic' is just bandied about by the naive to deny what is stirring them in the face. Mature men and women can't be friends. Simple. |
Really, everything in this world is a matter of choice. To make or mar your life is your decision. In that regard, your sister may have made her own choice. Let her go. Anyone that has a child is no longer a child. If she goes out, she may learn the truth you've been trying unsuccessfully to pass across. But if you keep sheltering a bad child, he/she will only make the whole place uncomfortable for everyone else. God bless your family |
Pandemonium broke out on the floor of the House of Representatives on Tuesday when two members of the honourable House exchanged hot slaps. Honourables Ali Madaki (APC – Kano) and Herman Hembe (APC – Benue) had a go at each other over the contentious issue of choice committees, with supporters scrambling to separate the fight. Reports say the fisticuffs occurred in the White House in the National Assembly, before the commencement of the day’s proceedings. The warring members are said to be in the opposing camps of Speaker Yakubu Dogara and House Majority Leader, Femi Gbajabiamila, who are both members of the All Progressives Congress. It will be recalled that the Speaker had earlier inaugurated 96 standing committees in the House, with supporters of the Majority Leader accusing him (Dogara) of sidestepping the leadership of the House in appointment of the Chairmenn and Deputy Chairmen of the committees. Many supporters of the Majority Leader had vehemently kicked against what they described as the Speaker’s unhealthy romance with the members of the opposition Peoples Democratic Party in the House. It took the intervention of the Deputy Speaker of the House, Hon. Yusuf Lasun, before the situation was brought under control. http://www.theheraldng.com/pandemonium-as-two-house-of-reps-members-exchange-slaps/ |
