BusinessBuilding a legacy by DamiAbandry(op):
LEAD
How to Build a Legacy
This isn't about people just remembering who you were. Here's how great leaders build a legacy that goes beyond fond memories.
One of the strange bewilderments of business is why so many entirely competent leaders finish their leadership journey without leaving behind much of a trace, while others--not necessarily more brilliant--leave behind a legacy.

What is it about some leaders that enables them not only to make an impact during their careers, but to continue to change how people act and think in their organizations (sometimes, in an entire industry) even after they've gone?

Some of it, of course is simple exposure.

Being the head of a Fortune 100 company gets your leadership principles disseminated somewhat more ubiquitously than if you're running a three-location chain of bedding stores. But the less glamorous truth is that some leaders simply do a better job than others of building and instilling a legacy.

If you want to leave behind more than a memory; if you genuinely want to change the industry or organization you work in for the long term, here's how to do it:

1. Know what matters. You can't leave behind a legacy by accident (well, you can, but it's usually a negative one). Until you know, clearly and unambiguously, what you want your legacy to be, it's tough, if not impossible, to begin building it.

The foundation of building a legacy is a deep sense of knowing--not just knowing what is important to you, but what is non-negotiable.

In a sense, it doesn't matter what those non-negotiables are. They could revolve around corporate culture, team-building, production quality, customer service, innovation, or any one of a thousand other things. What matters is that you know what they are.

It helps to put your non-negotiables down on paper. Write a manifesto. Print off a pdf and distribute it. Revise it regularly, over time, amending the wording to clarify and hone your non-negotiables. Strip away everything that's merely a 'nice to have', until the manifesto sings your legacy a cappella--clearly, and uncluttered by distracting background melodies.

2. Get off the front line. Take a look at that list of non-negotiables. It won't take root in your organization (and you can't build your legacy) if you're stuck permanently in the weeds managing the day to day detail of your business, division, department, project, group or team.

Yes, managers leave legacies too, but they're different. Manager legacies are tactical, anecdotal, of the "do you remember so-and-so...?" sort. We're talking about leaving a leadership legacy--a touchstone to guide future generations. That can't be built from behind a spreadsheet or in the bowels of a powerpoint deck.
Find a COO. Delegate more. Redraw your job description. Make Friday's a "no-managing" day.

However you manage it, if you're serious about leaving a leadership legacy, you need to get out of the front line and spend time - lots of time - with people.

3. Nauseate yourself. And what do you do with your people, now that you've stepped away (at least somewhat) from the front line?

Answer: Make yourself ill.

Seem strange? Well, here's the thing: If you spend time with truly great leaders, leaders who are building a lasting legacy, you'll notice they all have one thing in common. They repeat their non-negotiables endlessly, ceaselessly, ad nauseum.

They do so verbally, and by example. They do it in meetings, both formal and informal; they repeat them in one-on-ones; in performance reviews and all-staff meetings; in writing and on the phone; they regurgitate them as the answer to as many questions as tortured logic will allow. They recycle them, reprint them, reinforce them, insistently.

Great leaders drive home their non-negotiables over and over and over again, to the point where they feel physically ill at the thought of repeating them even one more time.

And that's just the beginning.

One industry leader I've worked with for over 20 years told me that he'd only begun to drive his personal leadership vision into his company after 12 years of ceaseless pounding on his "non-negotiables".

When the sound of your own voice repeating the same basic principles one more time makes you feel sick, then you've started the construction of your legacy.

4. Leave. Ready for a statement of the stunningly obvious? Leaving a legacy behind requires you to no longer be there.

Sadly, many leaders miss this vital point, and hang around too long, lingering until the point when what would have been a towering legacy is diminished by time. (This happens not just in business. It happens regularly in sports, religion, politics and entertainment too. Think of how many well known leaders in their field would have left a much more substantial legacy had they simply stepped away earlier.)

Do yourself - and your legacy - a favor. Quit while you're at the top. Go transform some other part of your life.

RomanceI'm Done, Her Sexiness Destroyed My IQ by DamiAbandry(op): 8:29pm On Apr 27, 2018
I've often said that there are two things that can bring down the IQ of even the smartest men in this world, those who consider themselves to be "Mr Sharp and Mr Smart" and that is, Multi- Level Marketing and a beautiful woman.

I mean have you ever tried to talk someone out of an MLM business, no matter the point you bring cmot, there's always one ridiculous story that makes you wonder where is the brain of this person, honestly it just annoys the hell...

Enough of that rubbish, honestly thou, a drop dead gorgeous lady can kill brain cells faster than even MLM, she can have the attitude of a serial kidnapper and her guy will not notice a damn thing.

You think this is bad, hear my story.

So I met this lady on Instagram, the bank W sliding method, it worked, I typed jokes, she laughed out loud, all was well. We flowed well and I asked her out to the zoo, I like zoo dates because they are interactive and non conventional.

We set up our first date, she showed up looking flawless, everything about her that bright early morning was perfect, her eyes were so confident, her heart was gentle, I was lost in them. She had a gentle and calm personality, I was immediately attracted to her, we connected so well and I knew I wanted to be serious with this girl.

2 months down the line, I startee tithing, not the regular church tithe, this one was 30%, then it grew to 50, then 80%, one.month it was the whole 100( ok this one na like smiley oh! She had me, and I didn't mind because I believed with all my.heart she was the one.

UNTIL...

It was the 20th of April, 200.. and I realized she was getting very close with a former best friend of mine. Now you may think you know how this story ends, but trust me you have no idea, but before I finish up, I just want you to imagine something with me.

Imagine she caused me a whole lot of irredeemable pain and yet I found something that not only replaced the pain with joy, but also replaced every $1 she took from me with $2 I got back.

What did I find?

I'll give you three guesses:

1. No it wasn't MLM
2. No it's not another gorgeous lady
3. No it's not church

What I found was writing. Yes I really could have whined over that whole period, but I chose to create a nice story about this whole drama and what I created was a fiction book with fictional characters that are not real and I decided to sell my book WORLDWIDE. ( I'm not Tonto dike, but at least she was smart to capitalize on her pain and she made a lot of money on Amazon from people who didn't know her from Adam or eve)

How do I sell.my book worldwide I hear you ask? Well have you heard of Jeff Bezos, the richest man in the world. He owns Amazon, infact Amazon made him a billionaire and on his platform anyone can sell their story.

The way I see it, any excuse to make dollars legitimately in this buh*** economy is a plus for me.

You are not interested? I should get back to the story! Okay so like I was saying, she later became interested in my best friend and.... JUST KIDDING!

I know you are interested, listen it's very simple, there are a lot of free resources online that tell you how to go about it, but none of them are detailed, organized or put you through the bottlenecks of doing from Nigeria. But I have come up with a very straight forward video series that shows you how to go from complete newbie to uploading your book on Amazon.

It shows you:

How to setup an Amazon account
Publishing on Kindle
Creating a proper manuscript
Uploading book in the right formats
Keyword and category ranking
Optimization for revenue

And so much more.

With this video series, you also get my complete detailed manual for publishing on Amazon. The video series honesty should be priced at nothing less than N50,000 because the value in this baby is huge, but I have this priced at N5,000 just to get as many people involved in writing and maybe we can build a writing club together. But the price will rise soon enough, so take action quickly.

You.migjt be saying why should I buy this? Why trust this training.

Well answer this.

You are a very busy person. Yes or yes?
You take how you spend your time very seriously. Yes or yes?
If you read through this entire content of over 1000 words you are very curious as to what great content is inside the video training. Yes or yes?

Well to get a copy of my series all you need to do is follow these steps.

1. Send me an email stating booksnigeria@gmail.com, with your name and phone number

2. I will reply immediately with details of how to make payment and how you get your video series training

BusinessAdWords marketing strategies by DamiAbandry(op):
1. Test in-market audiences
Ever wonder what Google does with the enormous amounts of data they’re quietly collecting about all of us as we sail through a variety of Google products and Google-tracking-infused websites?

A recently-released AdWords feature called in-market audiences makes use of this treasured info.

The idea behind this feature is to allow advertisers to look beyond demographics and target users who have demonstrated that they’re in the market for a specific product based on their web behavior.

Because Google knows when a visitor is actively researching and comparing products, or clicking on similar ads and converting, they can leverage this data to help advertisers reach potential customers on various sites across the web.

Here are some of the available in-market audiences and where they appear in AdWords:

in-market-audiences
In-market audiences allow you to leverage Google’s data to target customers who have shown that they’re in the market for your product.
Let’s say you’re a car dealer and you want to market to people whose web behavior has indicated that they’re planning on buying a new car soon. This feature is a great way to get after this audience using a rich volume of Google’s data.

You can (and should) layer in-market audiences on top of the keywords you’re already targeting in your search campaigns.

2. Try out AdWords dynamic ads
Standard remarketing serves up ads without knowing which specific product a visitor looked at on your site.

But Google recently launched the ability to do product-specific remarketing. Especially for retailers, this is a feature worth testing.

With a little help from your friends at Google, you can determine which products people looked at and serve up remarketing ads featuring those very products.

In other words, you can give people exactly what they want.

Here’s what a dynamic ad looks like:

amazon-socks
As you can see, I recently checked out some socks on Amazon. Don’t judge.
Now as I hang out elsewhere on the web, they’re reminding me that I looked at this item but never bought it. As you can imagine, this remarketing tactic creates highly relevant ads that convert quite well.

Want to give it a go?

Here’s a detailed guide to setting these up.

3. Customize ads with real-time updates
You know that urgency is an important component of high-performing ad copy, but who has time to constantly run promotions, update coupon codes and tweak ad text accordingly? Not you.

That’s why Google has introduced a handy set of scripts that the layman ad copywriter can understand.

For example, you can now tell Google, “My sale begins today and ends in 14 days, so update my ad copy accordingly every time you show it.” You can even use this strategy down to the hour: “Webinar starts in two hours – don’t forget to claim your seat.”

But that’s just the tip of the iceberg.

There are many other dynamic elements in the ad you can control, too. Take the example below, where everything highlighted in yellow is dynamic:

pro-whip-mixer
You can now encode the product name (ProWhip 300), product detail (5-quart), price ($199) and promotion end date (5 days).

Before this type of customization was available, old school AdWords retailers would have to set up a massive spreadsheet where inventory was cataloged and updated. This way, Google could pull in the appropriate product model, pricing and sale parameters.

Now, you can do this with a teeny bit of code simple enough for us online marketers to wrangle directly within the AdWords interface. The times they are a changin’.

For more information on real-time updates, check out this article.

4. Schedule ads to correspond to your sales bandwidth
There’s nothing more frustrating than paying for leads that have gone cold. So why do we run ads that drive leads at 3 AM when there’s no one there to call them back?

In some businesses, your customer will wait for that call – but others are different. When a lead is hot, it’s hot, and after a few hours have passed, a burning need becomes a passive query at best.

To maximize return on ad spend, some companies use ad scheduling religiously. Check out how a PPC ad scheduling strategy drove a 69% improvement in cost per acquisition.

It’s found under advanced campaign settings and it looks like this:

ad-scheduling
This is especially useful if, say, your offices and sales team are located in the Netherlands while your prospects loom large in the US. Or if you determine that your audience is more likely to purchase at a certain time of day.

Another weekly tip:

Your book is worth more than 99 cents

With all the competition, you’re told you have to price your book for 99 cents to sell it. As an entrepreneur, you goal is not to be priced at the bottom of the market. Understand the value you provide and price your book accordingly.
Books are generally greatly underpriced for the value they provide. Let everyone else chase the bottom while you enjoy more profit on the top.

TV/MoviesMovie Review: Beauty And The Beast; An Unnecessary Remake Of The Disney Classic by DamiAbandry(op): 1:26pm On Apr 03, 2017
With La La Land having done so well at the box office (it has made about $426m on a $30m budget but never mind the Steve Harvey-ishbest picture snafu at the Oscars), and now, Beauty and the Beast making $350m on a $160m budget; dare I say Hollywood might be reviving the movie musical genre any time soon?

Beauty and the Beast is a Disney live-action remake of the eponymous 1991 feature length animation that gave us the similarly titled hit theme song by Celine Dion and Peabo Bryson.

My earliest memory of the Beauty and the Beast story dates to the late 80s when I first saw the 1976 Television movie recreation of the story starring then real-life couple, the late George C. Scott and Trish Van Deverein the titular roles.

The classic story is simple; a vain and selfish prince is turned into a horrendous- looking beast by an enchantress. The spell can only be reversed if he falls in love with a woman who must in turn love him back. Of course, as would be expected in a fairy tale, all this must happen before the last petal of an enchanted rose falls off failing which the spell would remain permanent.

This being 2017, the classic tale expectedly ventures into some topical territories that resonate with today’s conventional wisdom.

Belle, the bibliophile village beauty played by Emma Watson, is a feminist of sorts who seeks a world beyond the provincial one she is stuck in. She is more damsel-who-will-kick-your-ass than damsel in distress.

Pandering to today’s expectations of political correctness by way of diversity, we get two of its most popular forms; firstly, we get the ironically restrictive definition of diversity with black actors being cast (apparently, non-black people of colour do not fall within the meaning of diversity).

Secondly, there was the ever-so-gentle-hint of alternative sexuality in the gay character Lefou played by Josh Gad. Funny thing is; two other characters, in my view, came across as almost borderline gay; the narcissist Gaston played by Luke Evans (from the flourishes of his mannerisms) and the prince-turned beast played by Dan Stevens (from his more-beautiful-than-handsome looks).

As the head-strong and clearly feminist Belle, Emma Watson brought an alluring and non-plastic fresh-faced beauty to the character. But there was always something decidedly Hermione Granger-ish (albeit a tad adolescent-ish) about her that just refused to go away.

Jokes Etc#keepthechangebae: First Dates; 4 Assumptions You Should Scrap Asap! by DamiAbandry(op): 11:37am On Apr 03, 2017
So yesterday just like any other day we all went about our “not so fun routines” being all intellectually minded and somewhat bored out of our minds… when a certain social media user Adeniji Olaoluwa Ayodeji – @pabloAyodeji decided to lash out at his “intended beau” @MissMoshiku on Twitter. Her offence? He had asked her out on a date but she apparently had the GUTS to turn him down because she wasn’t interested in a relationship with him. But no, deeper than that, Ayodeji had tagged her a – “#brokeasshungrybitch” saying if she was hungry she should have just come out plainly.

The twist? Dude got served big time when @MissMoshiku addressed the “situation” like a queen – Calmly without exchanging words she calculated the bill of his expense on the said date, which summed up to N3,800 and guess what she did? She overpaid and asked him to keep the change “for public transport!” Ouch!!! (I can’t recover…) You can say his pretty behind got whipped real good.
