Hello mommas in the house, Complements of the season.
I am a FTM and my LO clocked 8months few days ago. I have been trying to give her solid food since 6months ( she has been on formula as she willingly stopped BF since 2months as i wasnt lactating well, though she is very active, agile and brilliant as she already pronounces some words like halleluyah and claps.), i have tried cooking blended noodles with part with fish and part with egg yolk, i pureed potatos, apples, i cooked beans after pilling, ewedu with fish and very soft amala. Infact i have tried a whole lot but she doesn't accept any. She only accepts biscuits and muffins a liitle but i guess its too much sugar.
She also recently stopped taking enfamil. I noticed this coz she refused to eat well for like 2days. So i got Nutriben 8grains with 4 fruits and she now eats like every 3hrs. When i try the enfamil, she refuses to take it and you wont believe i just ordered 10tins of enfamil.
My dilemma now is how do i get her to eat solids and what kind of milk can i give her because even though Nutriben has milk, i believe she still needs a separate regular milk. Pls advise

Yes definitely you can do that.
@Justwise....thanks alot, will do that. So to the best of your knowledge, do you think we included all necessary documents or do you think there's something we left out that could have helped?

Please can you list those documents you submitted?

I think if you had explained in details as you did here the outcome could have been different
For my husband as the sponsor, we submitted:
- 6months payslip
- 6months bank statement
- Promotion letter
- Company Introduction letter
- Land DOA
- Family pictures
- Employee ID
- Tenancy agreement
- Daughter's school receipt
- Original daughter's US birth certificate
- Copy of daughter's US passport
- Flight itinerary (not booked)
- Itinerary of intending places to visit with dates
- Cover letter

For mine:
- Company bank statement
- Company CAC registration
- E-tcc card
- Tax receipt
- Company Introduction letter
- My personal bank statement showing savings
- Previous workplace 6months payslip
- Uber driver agreement
- Uber invoices
- Car documents
- Family pictures
- Copy of Husband's 6months payslip
- Copy of Husband's 6months bank statement
- Copy of Husband's promotion letter
- Copy of Husband's introduction letter
- Copy of daughter's birth certificate and passport
- Cover letter
- Husband's signed consent letter as sponsor

We did explain the commission being paid, the farmland, my trainings and uber business in the additional information space provided. Maybe we should have explained in more details in the cover letter i suppose. Can we reapply in January with the same documents and add updated documents while addressing the reason for previous refusal in details
TravelRe: General UK Visa Enquiries - Part 3 by damidamsel: 7:01pm On Dec 20, 2016
Long post alert........sorry but need to be detailed for clarification

Hi All, please i need your advise. So my hubby and I (baby has us passport so didnt need it) applied for UK visa with hubby as the sponsor on 21st Nov 2016 and got our passport back with a refusal after 12working days. The ONLY reason the Eco stated on each of our applications was that we did not show proof of income and our deposits were not regular which i believe he came to this conclusion because he didn't go through the docs well. This is our case:

My hubby earns abt 300k after tax monthly - this was evidenced by payslip, bank statement, promotion letter and introduction letter
He earns commission from client deals - the inflows shows in the bank statement and is not a one time lump sum, it has always been that way. His promotion and introduction letter also states he is on salary plus commission (however we did not highlight any of these on the bank statement)
He owns a 1acre farm and included the DOA for the land but no income was evidenced in the bank statement as no income came in during that 6month bank statement period)
The ECOs claim of income not being regular baffles me because his salary shows in there but everyone knows commission can never be regular

I am self employed (run a career development organization) which just began trainings in October. I attached my cac reg, tax receipt, my e-tcc card, company bank statement and personal bank statement. I also run a uber business
My company income was evidenced in the bank statement but unlike salary, cannot be regular as it depends on the number of trainings done. I even reduced the income by claiming income once every two months whereas i did a training in Oct and another in Nov
For the uber, i included the car docs, drivers agreement, uber invoices printed off the uber platform and the incomes show in the bank statement as uber remits and the driver remits with his name. With the uber also, though there is a standard pay expected, it cannot be seen as one sum because it is always a split between uber and the driver
(With these too, we did not highlight the incomes on the bank statement for easy detection)

We planned to travel on the 21st of Dec for a one week visit and budgeted £3k whereas we had abt 3m besides the funds in my biz acct and my savings. We initially wanted to reapply immediately (and highlight the bank statements and include another cover letter detailing the income) but could get no date with enough time before our travel date and priority service would have cost us abt 370k. We did not choose priority service because we did not want to look desperate paying 340k for a visa just for 7days visit.
Now we intend to reapply by end of January, if not for anything but to clear the doubt on ground, but probably also to visit during Easter or stopover on our trip to the US.
My question is: What could we have done differently to prove these incomes? What can we add to the next application to make it succesful

Thanks in anticipation of your responses

You need to submit original copies they will return it together with passports when decision is made.
You don't need to submit your kids Nigerian passport but you need to travel with it.

Yes you can also write a letter as you mentioned to support the application
Thanks alot!!!

Hi all, your advise is needed pls. I am piecing together our docs for a visit visa application for myself, husband and baby and would like to confirm the following as we would be applying together.
1) I included original marriage cert in my husband's application and copy in mine since he is the sponsor
2) I put different family pictures in each of our application
3) I put copies of our daughter's american passport and birth certificate in each of our application. Do they need copies of her nigerian passport too since she doesn't need a visa? Do we include her original birth certificate also or just copies?
4) Just for double confirmatuon, do we submit originals of birth cert, marriage cert, biz cac registration, tax clearance certificate, employment letter, promotion letter?
5) I intend to write an introduction letter for myself using my company letterhead as i am the sole owner and only staff for now, is this ok and is there a draft somewhere that i could take a cue from, kindly direct. I also intend a write a cover letter with my company's letterhead, is this ok too?

Sorry for the many questions......many thanks in advance.

Since your husband is sponsoring the trip ;
How much is the cost of trip to you personally : 0

Anyone else sponsoring the trip and with how much : input your total budget figure

How much do you spend each month on living expenses ; Input a small amount, what you spend on yourself each month

How much do you contribute to others, family bla bla : 0

Total money you have for the trip : input your total budget figure

Write a letter to explain that you are an unemployed housewife and that your husband is sponsoring the trip with XYZ amount(same figure you mentioned in question" anyone else sponsoring your trip and how much" ), also add that each month your husband gives you XYZ amount for house keeping .
Thank u so so much. Just what i needed to know. God bless

1. Yes you can

2. Yes there is a space in the form for all that info and many more

3. Can your hubby afford to sponsor the trip without your financial input?
@justwise....big thanks for your response. However i guess i did not phrase my question well.....my husband and I are applying to travel with our baby (american). My husband is the sponsor and yes he can afford to sponsor the trip without my financial input. We put the total budget in his application already. On my application, i am also being asked what the trip will cost me....do i still put the total figure or put 0 since my husband is the sponsor and the figure is already inhis application.
If i put the total figure, do i put that total figure also in the part that says how much willmy sponsor be contributing towards the trip?
Also, we put our monthly expenses already in my husband's application since he is the bread winner. However since this same question is asked on my application also, do i still put the same figure (wont it appear as though we spend the addition of both figures) or do i just put a small amount that caters for my own little personal needs?
Thanks alot

Hi All, Please i have a question. I intend travelling with my husband and baby to London in Dec. Even though I own a training company that was registered last year, I just began training this month due to childbirth and just started getting income from it. I also used part of my savings to get a car and became an uber partner this month with income going into my business account. I included all these in my appl. However I am putting my husband as the sponsor as I do not curently have much in my account. My questions are:
1) Do i include my business statement of account showing these recent incomes despite not being up to 6months?
2) There is a part where they asked how much the trip will cost, do i put our entire budget and put the same amount in how much my husband will be adding as sponsor, OR do i put 0
3) In a section, it is asked how much we spend monthly. We already put the total amount in my husband's application. Do i put the total in mine too or just how much i spend personally like for hairdo etc
Thanks in anticipation

Everyone knows retrenchment is real and people lose their job due to one reason or the other, it is to indicate that you were productive under an employer but you were retrenched and you have also founded a business of. yours, which is fair.the essence of including your past work documents is to cover for those periods that you returned from US and founding your own business, besides those info is not harmful to your application....the 2.7m should be sufficient for two adults and a toddler for a few days holiday, but if you have means of adding to it,why not?
justwise:
1. Yes its an added advantage.
2. Nothing wrong with that but at his current salary, exchange rate and cost of flight ticket during xmas period £2000 may not be enough.
2b. Not really as long as he is honest about it.
3. Yes if you will be staying with him.
4. No it will not.
5. Yes you have to because she will add to the budget.
Big thanks to you both....God bless u real big!!!!

You stand a fair chance of obtaining a visa with all these, you do not need to lie about your employment history, include your previous letter of employment and retrenchment, include your business registration documents, include the photocopy of your child's birth certificate, the copy oh his/her passport, your wedding certificate....let your hubby travel to SA as planned,i don't think you have any issue here.just come clean on your application
Tx alot for your response.... So u advise i add my previous employment letter, retrenchment and payslip despite being over 9months ago. Do i explain this in a cover letter? Also do u think the 2.7m is good enough or do we wait and build the acct higher? Tx once again

Hello house....greetings to you all....I would like to seek help with regards to my family's plan on applying for a uk visit visa by November to travel in December . Our case goes thus:

I have a valid USA visit visa, previously stayed in the us for 4years on student visa, just got back from the US about 3months ago. I have been to Canada twice (all evident in my passport) My hubby has not travelled out before. He is just planning on visiting SA. He had been denied usa visit visa on previous passport. Our infant is a US citizen. I have not worked this year as I lost my job last Dec due to downsizing. I was earning 420k gross. Could not get back to work as I was pregnant. Would most likely be starting a job in Oct. I have mybiz registered since Dec '15 but no income yet as I had not done anything due to birthing. Hubby currently earns 200k net and our acct is abt 2.7m. We plan on spending a week in Dec just for hols as we plan to be back in time for my family's visit ( my mum and sisters who are us citizens are visiting naija). I elaborated this as I have the ffg questions:
1) Is there a chance of my travel history and baby's US citizenship being a positive thing in getting our visa
2) Can we apply with hubby solely as sponsor and I as housewife ( or 1months salary if all goes well and i start a job in Oct), is his income & bank balance solid enough
2b) Would hubby's travel history and previous usa visa denial be a deterrent ?
3) I have an uncle who is a British citizen, does he need to send us an invitation letter?
4) Our budget is £2000, would this suffice for 1week with possible stay in hotel if we go non-invitation route
5) I am confused, do we include our baby on the application since she doesn't need the visa ( Neither hubby nor I have ever applied for uk visa so we do not know the format)

Sorry if some of my questions sound silly, it's 'novice syndrome' and sorry abt d million and one questions. Thanks in anticipation.

Cc - firstymum,modath,ozycy, sabi mamas
It's very straightforward....just go to their customer service with the gift and receipt and tell them you want to do an exchange ( however be sure that its a product that can be returned or exchanged for e.g you cannot return or exchange a breastpump). If there's a price diff, you will either have to pay the balance or you are creditted with the diff on a WalMart giftcard, whichever be the case.

Hello everyone
To the glory of God Almighty one of my twin was discharged today. Twin 2 would be ready to go home weekend or Monday by His grace. Soooooo grateful to God Almighty for everything,it's been a roller coaster ride but my God has been faithful. Apart from the money that is now over $300000 which I know God is working out something for us in Jesus name everything else has been good.
I tapped into singing of praise as said my one mama here&it worked. Having spent double for my own payment as it was emergency God surprised me. Coupled with the fact that am paying $1800 for a sublet room,God surprised me again today by bringing someone unexpectedly to me.
Still waiting on God for more of His miracles. Thanks to all the mamas and papas that pmed me&gave me words of encouragement when I almost lost it for the 1st 3 weeks without my babies&bills piling me but truly my God has indeed be faithful.
Like Oliver twist am believing Him for more.
Missing home ooo, can't go now cos they are still small&would need to still see Dr's till another extra 2months.
Isa 54:4 "Do not fear, for you will not be ashamed; Neither be disgraced, for you will not be put to shame........Joel 2:26-27 Joel 2:26 "You shall eat in plenty and be satisfied, And praise the name of the Lord your God, Who has dealt wondrously with you; And My people shall never be put to shame. Then you shall know that I am in the midst of Israel:I am the Lord your God And there is no other. My people shall never be put to shame".......I am inspired by your Faith and I join my Faith with yours this morning, believing in God and declaring that over your children and over this trip you embarked on, you will NEVER be put to shame IJN. It's well. We all await your mega testimony.

My own question is a bit derailing but its kinda connected grin

A manager in my office asked why I decided to birth in the US and deny my Parents (well not mine cos we don't do it) and my inlaws the joys of Day 8 naming ceremony undecided In his opinion (not that it matters to me), 'better healthcare' is an excuse and I shouldn't use that to deny the grandparents their joy.

So my question is to the Yoruba 's amongst us that don't get to travel with their mothers...How do you handle the 'naming ceremony ' issue?
To answer your question, i did the 8days with my mum , sisters and aunts over there as just a parlor naming coz we already did a big babyshower but came back and did the 40days just exactly like the 8days naming. All in all, everyone was satisfied at the end.

WOW!!! Seems like ystday when i began reading this thread like someone prepping 4 jamb exam, getting all necessary docs 4 burden of proof and tying all loose ends ...evn my mama was like "u were so OCD wit ur preps, u were driving me nuts" grin. To God be the glory, i left the US for Naija wt my one month old pretty princess on 19th May.

THE JOURNEY: Birthed at Crozer-Chester in Philly, got extra bills like $304 for pap smear (which was the only prenat test i did), $321 for neonatology doctor in hospital, $239 for hearing test and $192 for NonStress test and Ultrasound breathing test which my baby failed. My obgyn (a wonderful Nigerian-American lady that i ended up with despite that i initially called the office to sign up with an Indian doctor that i had read peopl's review of) helped in cutting down d lab and neonat fee, i got abt 50% discount for hearing test and i paid off $192 for NST.

I was induced same day baby failed NST as they wouldn't let me go back home (Obgyn said not to worry as bills for induction had been taken care of). Wasn't evn prepared. Had to call mum and sisters to bring in hospital bag and stuffs. Was told induction process could last 2days but to God b d glory, the whole process to childbirth was 12hrs. Thank God i was induced as my baby had passed mecomium in the womb. Despite my plan not to have epidural....omo when d pain reach one level, i requested for it ooo but sincerely as someone rightly said "its d next best thing after sliced bread" LOL

Got baby's BC and SSN card one week after delivery. Went to passport office for baby's blue kpali and got it in 3hrs. Na to kon get Naija visa yawa almost gas. Sent in baby's passport n docs for 24hr processing at one week to travel date. Na so agent submit am for processing and traveled. Couldnt reach the agent again, Nigerian house in ATL refused to pick their calls and i had not rcvd baby's passport back at 3days to our trip. Long story short, rcvd passport 2days to trip.

Flew Delta....Added baby for just $63. Had to gt ticket for my sisters to fly back with me....glad i did as i couldn't have handled the trip alone wt my luggages and the whole stress and baby not getting the travel cot from delta.

Missionary journey over!!!! But walahi....i no sure say i go ready for another till 2019 ooo...as a FTM, it was a bit tough. Thank God for family around but despite, i went down 2 dress sizes during this experience ( which i no mind sha as v bn trying to loose weight)

Still reading this thread daily....as addicted as a person to crack. Lol. Thanks to all for the valuable and immeasurable info given on here. END OF EPISTLE!!!!

Dear blaize777 kiss
I'm not happy reading your recent posts (bolded below+the other where you said your tears have run out)!
So perhaps you need some hard truths (I realise we are Nigerians anyway, na strong word na im dey enter us pass soft words)
Are you a FTM? Yes? Then I think I understand where you're coming from ). But then...
True story:
When I had my first child, i had chicken pox in week 39, had to be induced in week 42. Then he was distressed in the womb, passed meconium inside my womb, apgar score of 3 or so. On coming out he was diagnosed with some nonsense congenital ish, and given 3 months to live. As a FTM I was inconsolable, rolling on the floor crying, asking myself who have I offended, who hates me this much? Why must mine be different?
Long story short, because I would not let go and let God, I ended up with a partial stroke. That's what my depression got me o. So I became a casualty.

Q- Was I able to help my kid then?
A- Even an onuku knows the answer to that...

I was barred from breastfeeding, even from holding the child. I added to the problem on ground.

But after all this my eye opened (spiritually tho, physically I was a mess... I looked like a freak sideshow!)

What did I do after that, I had to painstakingly cast my mind back to how good God had been to me in the past... All the strong things He had brought me through...
You know when bible said "And David encouraged himself in the Lord " that was me right there.
You know what I did? I would pick the child up, look sternly at baby and start speaking...
-I carried you in my womb, this womb (slapping my stomach! cheesy) for 9 months
-Those 9 months were not for nothing oh.
-I am your mother! You must listen to me and heed my voice
-You shall not die, must not die, you're not permitted to die!
- You will live.
-Rise up and respond to treatment
Can't remember all the things I told this child biko. Pickin jus' dey look me.

I was declaring like mad... you know ministering angels don't respond to tears, they respond to errands you send them on. I was dishing out orders concerning my baby and myself.

This child given 3 months to live is a big kid now, the next blink he'll be ready for secondary school... I still order him around, I just even ordered a batch of koboko for him the other day grin

My sister, be of good courage. I still maintain there is NOTHING God cannot do. He's just waiting for you to touch heaven with your faith.

I remember when I went through mine, I had periods of doubt and I would still say "Lord I believe you, but the circumstances are fighting my faith, Pls help my unbelief!"
All this I just spoke about happened here in Lagos oh! Where equipment nor dey, not to talk of better doctors. But God sent help...

E come be you wey dey Yankee!
Remember that Some people are back home who wish they had the opportunity to rack up NICU bills to save a life, but God chose you to get the visa. Maybe that visa was issued for "such a time as this" according to Mordecai.

So why am I writing this epistle? So you will brace yourself.
Your matter will be resolved.

Start figuring out where to organise koboko for when li'l mama will grow into lil drama queen grin They always do!

Frank Edwards song says:
My God is still changing lives
He's still alive doing good
He is the source of your strengthhhhh
My God is still changing lives

Changing livesss. .. (somebody help me sing jor! )

E-hugs!

Make I go check if this strike still dey happen today... wink

Thank you @damidamsel for your response and congrats on the birth of your baby smiley

From what I can gather, using Crozer chester medical center may serve me better as I can get a doctor's correspondence compared to DCHM.

Please can you send me the contact details of the Obstetrician you used so I make further enquiries and a copy of your intent letter to the embassy if possible (I have a sample already but won't mind having yours aswell)

Also, I have family in Philly, is it possible they could source the obstetrician for me?

Also when you say "burden of proof", what did yours contain so I can have mine handy. I will be going direct to Philadelphia and not Atl POE. I pray a seamless experience. My first time wasn't stressful at all and I travelled with my husband.

Look forward to your response.
Sorry 4 my late response....being a FTM, trying so hard to adjust to motherhood life and baby dictates. Lol. Got your email, will respond before EOD
