It is a common thing for landlords to reject blacks, even the Arabs are now being rejected too all because of stereotype. The best way to convince them is by paying 3months minimum in advance. With the way rents are increasing , they may not have a choice than to rent to arabs and blacks, because an average Turk will not pay more than 500£ for a house.
Racism is real here but it is down played, if you don't search for it, you will not see it.

I am guessing you live in Lefkosia or Girne where 3-month rents are acceptable. In Magusa, the minimum is 6. A friend got evicted in Lefkosia because his white friend rented out his house to him but the landlord didn’t want any blacks. Another friend had same experience in Girne. I was rejected in Magusa too. But it isn’t prevalent here.

If you are financially prepared and you come to North Cyprus to STUDY, you will have zero problems here. Some of the people are nice while some are just not nice. It isn’t because you are black but because they have their own demons. You are rarely colour conscious on the island because Africans are plenty here. You can live anywhere and drive any car and no one stops you, although I was denied accommodation at a particular house because the owner didn’t want blacks. It is rare though and I heard that some Nigerians he gave apartment to made it difficult for him. Some of them are very greedy though, I cannot mince words. But majority of them are nice.

Please is there anyone coming from Eastern Nigeria, Asaba, or Lagos that could help me get two pairs of glasses and some Nigerian spices? I'd like a small amount of Cameroon pepper and crayfish and some dry fish. I am tired of chicken and and these green pepper with no hotness. Welcome, I'm glad I could help. Just go to the high court and tell any lawyer you want to notarize your sponsorship letter. It cost me 2k. Those agents and touts at the embassy will ask you to pay them 8k. So just do it yourself. Photocopy your IDs and transcripts also before going to the embassy, those agents will charge you 100 naira per copy. Do your flight reservation yourself too, those touts will charge you 10k. All the best. I never paid them any dime so be smart about it all. Good luck.

Visa fee is 250 dollars, they don't take the equivalence in naira.

Not the same questions were asked. They'd ask you your age, the course you are going for, what you studied here and why you chose North Cyprus. They'd also ask you your sponsor's relationship with you, what they do and where they live. Every question there is pretty easy and straightforward. For my part, the guy who interviewed me happened to be an alumni of my alma mater so he asked me the campus I schooled in and the area I lived during my university days. It was a sort of a mini chat and the chap was super friendly. There's nothing to fret about.

Interview done. I'm to come back next week Friday for the visa. Ask any questions and I'd try to share from what I learnt. Good luck everyone.

I cancelled my old appointment and did a new one and kept trying to find a favourable date. I got it some nights ago. So I guess you can try that.

I am to specify the exact date of arrival, state the duration of stay and provide the name of hotel or person I'd be staying with in Turkey with their phone number and city. I don't have that yet. Then also the biometric form. How do I go about that. Thank you.

Thank you Mr Wip for the info. I do not know what is wrong with Access Bank. I filled in 2500 in the teller and I still have money on the account. They debited 2570 and sent 2485 to the school? Stupid people. Thanks for the info once again as I await the confirmation letter.

Kindly start to pre-fill your visa form. I have sent you in the past the procedure, and pls go head to book an appointment asap. As mentioned before, the earlier dates are purposely bought by touts/agents and they resell near the embassy to applicants. This same thing happened last semester and some had to pay in the range of 5-10k naira to purchase from these touts. However, you can be very lucky to find nearby dates during your own submission time.

hello Mr Wip, with all what this guy said about the dates being booked. What are we to do now? I'm still waiting for the confirmation letter from the school. I have paid the 2500 stated on my offer letter and was debited on Wednesday and sent the copy as stated on my offers letter but no response has come yet. I was the guy that mailed you when I was at the bank. What do we do about these appointment dates?

Kindly visit the embassy, those dates are mostly bought by touts and agents. You may find them near the embassy and bargain with them or go straight to the embassy to explain your situation.

Turkish embassy has killed somebody oooo.. transit visa that used to be #11,500 is now $250 and please note that it's no longer 4 months statement of account, it's now 6 months..it is well.. Happy new year.

Please where is this info coming from. I've checked the press release on the website of the ambassy but there is no news on that. Please is this verified?
