This is the bane of the country. If there’s equity in the distribution of wealth and the infrastructural development of this country, few people will clamor for secession. We need a true nationalistic mindset to grow our beloved fatherland.

Foreign Affairs / Re: How The British Press Reported On Meghan And Harry by Damsonkc(m): 2:32am On Jan 21, 2020
crackkhaus:

Surely you must realize that when people don't like you, it really won't matter if you're doing nothing wrong, they would still find a way to make you look bad.

The bias against Meghan was watered by none other but herself. You can see one of the articles you posted called her 'dictatorial', they may not be far from the truth.

I followed the whole ruckus leading up to their wedding in 2018 up until the wedding itself. You should not take my word for it though, you could make some findings on your own regarding just how much she tried to break almost every protocol regarding how the wedding should go.
A lot of things were changed/altered just to accommodate her preferences - from the flower choices, to the aisle leading up to the alter that was made wider because it's what she wanted, etc.. There was a lot more which I can't even recall off the top of my head.

Now no one is saying she couldn't have creative control over her own wedding, but when you marry into a monarchy that has a certain way of doing things in keeping with age-long traditions as old as her own ancestors, then she probably should have simmered down a little. She got what she wanted most of the time because the monarchy were happy enough to make Diana's little boy happy, but she took it too far and got used to it.
After the wedding, she kept trying to get them to do things her way and most of the time she would get it, but guess what, the British people only resented her for it because she was now effectually implying that their ways of doing things was not good enough for her, her own way was better...it wasn't just an emotional bride trying to make her wedding day perfect anymore, this was a woman who had no respect for the Monarchy and its ways. She confirmed what they already suspected and gave oxygen and water to the bias already working against her. And to make it worse, she was not even that big a celebrity in Hollywood in the first place.

This kind of resentment will obviously make them troll her at every given opportunity...no one holds a grudge more than the British.

If say, a single never divorced well brought-up Beyoncé (still black and American) was the one who married into the royal family, she may even get a softer landing than Meghan. If a Beyoncé DIL wanted the Queen MIL to dance single ladies inside Buckingham Palace, she may have gotten away with it, just because she is a Beyoncé. Get my point?

Meghan already had everything working against her from the start - previous failed marriage, dysfunctional family set-up, being biracial, and an American actress (not even an A-list, which may have been a plus). The least she could have done to warm her way into the hearts and minds of the British people, is to at least appear that she gave a shit about the way things are done.

I'm NOT sorry to type this, but I will because it is what it is:
Meghan did not do Windsor a favor by marrying Harry, Windsor in fact did her a favor by allowing her become a part of their family and she should have acted accordingly and not take a mile when given an inch.

It's what it is.

The mistake we make is to run along with things we read on the internet as fact. Everything you said she did wrong were things the press told you she did wrong. You were not there. You didn’t see her. You don’t know her personally. You also saw clearly that this very same press is very biased against her but you still go with them for whatever reason. Lol. What you think you know about her is simply what someone who doesn’t like her wanted you to know about her.

Business / Re: Is Nigeria A Truly Wealthy Nation? See What Economic Facts Say by Damsonkc(m): 11:18pm On Jan 05, 2020
Gerrard59:

If Nigeria's economy is that figure, she would be gracing the G20 summits every year as a member of the top 20 economies globally and not rely on invites which aren't even consistent. And no, Nigeria does not have a population problem. The OP mentioned China and India which are far more populated Nigeria yet are far richer. He was even lenient by not mentioning Brazil and Indonesia which have similar populations like Nigeria but citizens are richer than Nigerians while economies are bigger than Nigeria's.

@Topic: Hopefully, naysayers get to read and more importantly assimilate these figures because when one tells them that Nigeria is not a rich country and her citizens are poor, they flare up. Regarding solutions, I cannot proffer solutions for problems I did not cause.

There is no point wanting to make a mountain out of a molehill. Google is your friend. Nigeria has always been called the biggest economy in Africa for a reason. Nigeria broke the one trillion barrier over 3 years ago. Being negative about our current situation doesn’t erase the fact. Nigeria’s GDP is 1.2 trillion dollars.

Nigeria’s GDP is 1.2 trillion dollars. Where did you get the figures you are quoting? I know our per capital income is above 2k usd. It’s too small but nigeria is not a poor country. We simply have a population problem.

I don’t know why I see potential in their eyes. Is there no savior who can take their cases personal and save them from doom?

Can't blacks also be racist toward those whites?

Black people can’t be racist simply because being racist has to come with having more financial and social power. You can hate a white man but it will not be beneficial to you in any economic or social way. Racism has to do with being the one who has an economic and social advantage.

Politics / Re: Amosun, Suswan, Abaribe, Yayi and Other Oppose Border Closure by Damsonkc(m): 7:36am On Sep 26, 2019
Closing the borders is a temporary solution to a permanent problem. If the customs cannot man the borders, why are they still employed? The person saying that the closure has increased local production is a chronic liar. The border has only been closed for a few weeks, how many things have we produced since then? When Dangote commended the border closure, I kind of sensed that something was amiss. It has everything to do with protecting vested interests and not for the good of the common man. Equip the customs, re-open the borders. The officers should be trained on the dangers of taking bribes and smuggling and let the ECOWAS agreement stand. We can only grow better by doing business with our neighbors. The Nigerian government should instead pressure the neighboring countries to ban the importation of goods that can be produced locally. It should be step by step. We are the giants here!!

With all due respect sir you are very very wrong.
I have been to umuoji town in idemili north and have witnessed a woman speaking to a 12 to 15 feet python that entered her house to come out. She wasn't speaking the normal igbo language that I know but some kind of local dialect.

If you are in doubt about the kind of python I am talking about come to idemili. Umuoji any time you are chance and see for yourself.

The story about python and venom is wrong though.

I want to assume that you didn’t get a tape and measure the python. I am from a place where pythons are revered too. The ball python can grow up to 6 feet. It has a very mild temper and the colouration is very different from the rock pythons. Believe me, if an African rock python finds its way into a household in any of these villages, it would likely cause some damages. The reticulated python is the specie that targets people most and it can eat you for no reason. Lucky for us, we don’t have these here. If not, it’d be so bad for us all.

I have read everything here and there is a lot of misinformation. First, pythons are not venomous. This is for the person that said a python bit a woman and the venoms came out. Second, the variety of pythons not killed by some northern Igbos are the African ball pythons. They do not grow to become giant beasts like the ones we see on Nairaland killed by people in bushes. The ball python is smaller and generally doesn’t attack people. An African rock python would swallow you if it’s extremely hungry and can’t find food. There is a big difference between these species. Biko let’s learn to be guided, umunnem.

Hello Mr. Wip, only one of my cousins has gotten his visa. My other cousin was told his name wasn’t on the list, alongside my friend. I am considering the Ok to board option. Please how do I go about it and how much is it?

wip7:

For visa:
You don’t need appointment, just go any working day to MZ VIZE OFFICE for submission.

For ok-to-board
You will need payment receipt of tuition, acceptance/admission letter and return ticket(Turkish airline). It’s done within 24-72 hrs.

Education / Re: Why Do I Look More Beautiful In The Mirror Than At The Cameras. by Damsonkc(m): 9:31pm On Aug 28, 2019
Lol. From the point of view of a professional filmmaker, I will explain better. The mirror is not the true reflection of how we look. The mirror flips the image. Your right is your left. Stand in the front of the mirror, hold a cup and see if the mirror shows you the right hand or not. You don’t look uglier in photos, you simply look different from the false image your mirror has shown you all your life. It is what you think you look like but that is not what others see. What they see is actually the image in the photo. Believe me, you still look beautiful. Angles in photos can distort your real look.

Dear Joe Igbokwe, we commend you for your progressive mindset but don’t you think you are out of touch with reality? The Igbo man is the only truly federal Nigerian. He goes anywhere and settles down and lives in peace with his hosts while he does his business but other tribes won’t do this and instead see him as a threat. People like you are a good example of this. It is why the igbos can never be united. The rest of Nigeria will not do half of what we do on their soil in ours.

Hi wip 7, good day. My cousin finally received an email yesterday. He went there this morning but was given back his passport and a green leaflet with the inscription “name not on the list”. Please what could this mean? Is there a need to be worried?

wip7:

There is no fixed processing period for Turkish embassy. This depends on volume of applicant, period (festive or non), response from the concerned University and sorting of names at the embassy. On average, 2-8 weeks. The semester starts in September, so still more time!

Hello Wip7,

I wrote you an email a few days ago but I have not received any replies from you. You helped me to procure admission in TRNC in 2017 and I am still here in Cyprus. I have rounded off my masters and going for PhD. However, I have a different problem. My two little cousins have gained admission and I have also paid their fees. I thought the old system is still in place and I went ahead to fill the visa application on the Turkish Embassy website but after several days, I discovered that there are no clickable dates. I came here only to learn that it is different now. I really don't understand the new process. I would appreciate your help or the help of anyone else. I would love for them to be here by August because I intend to travel. I want to receive them before I go. Please I need a detailed information. Everything I have read so far are a tad confusing and fractional. Thanks for your anticipated assistance.
