If you follow only the media daily, you will assume crime is the only thing in this country. Let us try to be quick to post the good news around just as we are quick to post the bad. I wholly condemn this act and I hope justice is served. |
BavarianLad:Nobody is against you having an opinion or a mind of your own, as you stated, but we won't tolerate every stupid opinion simply because we want everyone to have a mind of their own. Tim Cook is the current CEO of Apple and he is openly gay. Africans always have this funny notion that being gay is Western. That is wrong. Emperor Mwanga, the Kabaka II of old Buganda was an African ruler who was gay. In fact, the British banished him because of his sexual orientation. Being gay is human. It is nature. Penguins have a large gay community. Bonono Monkeys are bisexual. Gay sex accounts for 90% of all observed sexual activities in giraffes. Snails, Flamingos, Sea Lions et al have displayed strong observable signs of homosexuality. Why then is man, allegedly higher than them, so daft to note all these? As for your confusion about my sexual orientation, I'm a straight man in love with my wife to be. Common sense is the gift I have above the lots who do not want to think right. You do not have the right to hate gays just as much as you do not have the right to bomb people. If you despise their actions, which in no way directly affect you, you can easily focus on something more pressing and important to your survival. Good morning. |
BavarianLad:A child may hate an abusive father but that does not mean he hates all fathers. Saying you hate gays is very stupid and myopic of you. If you had one bad experience with a gay man, it still doesn't justify generalizing and saying you hate gays. You use a computer that was invented by a gay man, you use an iPhone whose CEO is a gay man. You adore celebrities you do not know are gay. Look at people for what they are and not what they do in their bedrooms. You can go hang yourself if you wanna keep up with the mindless hate. |
Hating them doesn't make them less human than you are. Hate is too strong a word. Your hate is irrational and your post deserved to be deleted by Facebook. If God hates you despite all your shortcomings you won't be alive to say you hate his creation. |
It wasn't the guy you saw on the NYSC book that called you. The scammer probably laid his hands on one of the NYSC photo album and picked a random ID to use. |
wip7:Hi Wip, should I send my documents for EMU to you, I have the basic requirements. Please will you assist me with the application? |
wip7:Thank you for the information. The CGPA I presume is 3.5 average on a 5 point scale, yeah? |
wip7:Hi Wip, please assist a brother. I need to know the current fees for masters at EMU and how much I have to pay as initial payment. They are the only school on the island who have Digital Media for MA. Please I have my documents ready and I want to start now. |
No love for the fatherland that betrayed their dreams. |
As much as the Republicans would want to seize on this opportunity to spread their islamophobia and their anti-immigration campaign, don't forget that the Democrats also have a lot to gain from this incident. First, the Democrats are pro gun control. The constant attempts by the Obama administration to pass stricter gun control laws have been sabotaged by the Republicans. This Omar Mateen's act can also be seen as a consequence of the absence of stricter gun laws. The Democrats can sure use this to their own advantage by reiterating the need for a stricter gun law. Second, majority of Republicans who for the primaries expressed the need to undo the gay rights bill. The Republicans are less accommodating of gays than the liberal Democrats. It is therefore left for the Democrats to remind the citizens how much Trump hates gays and how his divisive comments might have triggered the man to kill people and how it is easier still because Trump and co do not want a stricter gun control law! |
When do we start treating this country like it is ours and not some country belonging to some other people? When do we stay awake, deep in thoughts, thinking about new ways to move us forward? When do the youth rise up and make these old men deliver on their promises? When does the Nigeria of my dream come to pass? I do not want you all to seize this opportunity to show your stupidity in your PDP and APC divide. Kindly tell yourself the truth that this country has been bleeding forever. Nigerians, Ipobians, this is our only country and if we do not fight for it, we won't have it. We demand to be respected. Stand up now and hold these jokers responsible for the problems they have caused!!! |
Hi house, please I'd like to know the fees for masters at EMU, the compulsory payment and the scholarship for masters students. I've a university degree and I want to study digital media and film at EMU. Thank you. Please @wip7 I specifically need your unbiased contribution. |
The sole reason I'm an advocate of the arts. Even if we may never get rich, we live about the happiest life we can imagine. Follow your dreams, people, no one should ever make you feel little or stupid. |
Vinshu:You probably don't know this lady. You probably have never spoken to her yet you insult her very existence. Look at her! Did she say she isn't trying to lose weight? Did she tell you about her other achievements that you know nothing about? Why do you call her daft? Why? Has it ever occurred to you that someone who is fat may read your comment and take their life? I understand you disapprove of fatness, why didn't you just read and not comment? The world doesn't need this type of reaction. No. Everyone is deserving of love. You do not know about her battles or victories, why do you crucify her so? Tomorrow, we will cry when he hear of racism or xenophobia or the like when we are not much different from the xenophobic, racist, and homophobic idiots who make the world a bad place. You are not better than this girl. You will probably die before the next 100 years and so will she and it all won't matter a bit. I do not know you, but I beg you to henceforth stop this kind of behaviour. Take care. |
To everyone asking the OP to move on, have you ever considered the fact that OP will someday get married? Isn't it right for him to know his half-siblings? Should he meet a girl now and have an amorous relationship with her only to find out she's his sister, how does he deal with that? To OP, try every means possible to find him. Try the Radio stations and popular blogs. I wish you the very best. It is better to find him and get rejected than not trying and not knowing what would have happened. Be strong bro and good luck. |
dayounglor:Cool. It adds up now. School was so hot then. I hear Ekosodin is quiet now. Good story nonetheless. Keep it up. |
UyiIredia:Hahahaha. That one too. |
OneTruePrince:Hey bro, my assertion is based on the fact that others do not see it as perfect just as Christians do not see other religions as perfect. Deism in itself is also very imperfect. |
olatunjithomas:Nairaland exposed me to the harsh realities of our society. This your dog bad ooo |
As in, the way they twist every topic and turn it into a Yoruba/Igbo war is very funny. This should never continue. |
After so many recommendations from friends and colleagues, and when the need to deliver targets at work as a digital marketer became unbearable, I reluctantly began my journey on Nairaland. It was sometime last year that I signed up and I realised the huge potential this platform presents for marketing/advertising legitimately or otherwise and for keeping up to date with information. I was awed by the number of traffic on this site and each time I see a poor and desperate blogger trying to get traffic to his blog by 'booking space' on FP and contributing nothing at all to a post but telling you to visit their blog. I thought it was foolish of them until I tried it and I recorded the greatest number of page views on my tiny literature/writing blog. I really enjoy the comments on here and Nairaland is my goto site for latest gist and information. I even found many people like me here who are either agnostics or deists. I even saw a thread for Freemasonry which has always been a group I love so much. With these beautiful advantages of Nairaland, you may then wonder why I am writing this post with the title above. Without mincing words, these three things put me off on Nairaland. 1: TRIBALISM I am tired of coming online to read interesting posts only to be shattered and hurt by the number of hateful posts I see here from tribal bigots. Dear Igbo people and Yoruba people, you are not the owners of Nigeria alone. You people must get over yourselves and stop this shameful and hateful comments towards your respective tribes. I am Igbo and I was born and raised in the North. I went to University in the the SS, did my Youth Service in the SS and worked in the SW. I have been to 16 states in Nigeria and I have come across beautiful people all through my journey. I speak fluent Hausa and fluent Igbo and lived in the SE for a long while too. It is very very unfortunate what you people do here. Most of you have never left your region and that is why you insult other Nigerians at will. I've been around and I tell you that Nigerians are beautiful people despite our differences. The earlier we learn to respect one another, the better for us. 2: RELIGIOUS BIGOTRY I have followed the story of Ese and some of the kidnapped Southern girls and some of the stories that have called our faiths to question. The islamophobia on Nairaland is real and it is pathetic. I was born into a Christian home but I never loved the religion as a child growing up in a Muslim community in Northern Nigeria. The contrast my immediate society provided me exposed me to a deeper understanding of man and religion. At a young age, I stopped going to church and I never went to the mosque. I realised how divisive both were. I believed and still believe there is a God but I always knew he was not in the church nor in the mosque. He didn't come from Nazareth nor from Medina. I studied other religions like Taoism, Buddhism, Hinduism, Jainism, Baha'i et al and came to the conclusion that God is indeed personal. It was while studying at the University of Benin that I found out that people like me were called Deists. Everytime I watch how Nairalanders judge issues pertaining to religion, especially Islam, it hurts me. Respect other's views please. Islam is not perfect and so is Christianity. 3: APC vs PDP. I watch daily as insults fly here over allegiance to political parties. Some call others Zombies, other's call them Wailers. As much as this presents a much needed comic relief in these hard times, it is plain stupid and a waste of time. PDP and APC are both thieves. None of them has the interest of you and I at heart. After filling their agbada with dollars, they throw Naira coins at us and laugh foolishly as we fight over crumbs. Nigerians must rise up to chase all these people out. We need to revolt to get to where we should be. PS: I do not intend to insult anyone. This is my view and mine alone. It doesn't call for insults. If you insult me, I will find you and I will steal your tomatoes. |
Ah ahn! Is Ekosodin still hot? I graduated from Uniben in 2013 and I lived in Ekosodin all through. I got info that there is a constant patrol team in Ekosodin now. Do students still fear there? Is the fear substantiated or borne of stories of the past? The vestiges of strong men will forever hang on the air of Ekosodin like the stench of a dying man's shit. I wrote a story back then about Ekosodin. I miss there though. |
We cry brain drain when our artists leave for Europe and North America or other saner climes but we forget that we contribute a lot to this. As an artist, a writer, I condemn this art wholly and I implore every sane Nigerian to do same. We must learn to protect our artists. In other news, I made FTC for the first time ever even without trying to. Well, make I Kuku enjoy wetin una dey enjoy since. |

Bishops10:He is a hero in Obowo. My mother is from Avutu and I remember legendary tales about him. God bless his soul. |
The accused, if genuine, has anxiety problems. From the onset, he had his mind that the OP was a scammer and that guided his actions. He surely has trust issues and it is quite hilarious coming from the guy posing as a female. However, I kind of think he isn't really a scammer but an opportunist. @OP, if you can forgive and let go, please do so for the sake of peace. It is very hard doing business in this country, especially online businesses. Until we learn to let go of our inner devils, we cannot grow in this country. Anyone here who owns an e-commerce website can tell how hard it is to do business outside these shores. You cannot put PayPal as a payment gateway on your website because you cannot receive money. A better country begins with you and I. We must leave a powerful marker for the generations unborn. |
I hope this case and the case of the Queens College biology teacher will teach us all the importance of holding judgement till all investigations are complete. With the rate we go in dishing out social media trial in this country, we will someday hold ourselves responsible for the death of an innocent person. Let us learn to use our brains in situations where our emotions stand I'm readiness to blindfold us. |
Hi, I've been seeing your posts on a previous thread and your search for freelancers. Kindly post them on broadlancers.com to get all you want including the option of paying in Naira as against the dollar that is obtainable in Freelancer and Upwork. Thank you. |
I sent you a PM. Please I would love to know if there is any Mason Lodge in Benin City or Asaba. I am very passionate about Freemasonry and I feel the time is right for me to make this leap. |
Some time early last year when I was serving in a girls' school in Delta State, my roommate was accused by a JSS II girl of molesting her. We were in our room gisting when he was summoned by the principal and the GC. It was no play. The next morning, the little girl's parents stormed the school, kicking up dust and dirt and all as they made into the principal's office in rage. My roommate was called away from class to the office. The little girl was called too. On getting there, he remained silent. He didn't want to shout so that they won't say he was threatening the girl. With her parents there, the little girl even had added guts. She maintained that he abused her. She was asked to tell how it happened. She said that he called her out in class and told her that he liked her. She was asked if other students were there and she said he said it before the whole class. The whole class was summoned and the kids said it was a lie and that he merely flogged the girl for not sitting properly in class. The principal became angry and flogged the girl mercilessly. What baffled us was how a little girl like that could cook up such a story. It was both surprising and eye opening. My roommate didn't even alter a word. This guy was notorious in university for his activism. Although he was a renowned cultist, everyone knew him to be ethical. In fact, he became a cultist to defend his friends. I taught an SS II class and I don't even want to tell you how many times people said shit about me. The teachers even planted spies to report to them because my set had a great influx of handsome male corpers and most of us being very young too. Sometimes you walk up towards some students and you hear them gushing about you. Some even tell their friends you are their BF and although we always laughed over this, I wondered what would have happened should someone come out again and say we molested them. I'm not exonerating anyone but I want you all to know that in this age and time, little kids cook up the strangest stories. All they need to beat you are just circumstance and some stupid ass Feminists. |
PIPPROF:Swear down. If only Glo will plant masts everywhere as MTN does, it would have been goodbye to MTN. Airtel will give you crap that zaps like lightening. I used 1GB in less than 20 hours without downloading or upgrading shit on my phone and to make it worse, I had just 2G all the while. Glo is still the best provided they can reach out to more places. |
