6.5 Km/L is about 26 KM/gallon. I think that's fair enough for a 13 years old 4.3 V8 mercedes engine.

koolmd: The SRS indicator can definitley be fixed! My own problem still persists and am at the verge of getting a complete transmission which is a very expensive venture!!! Any suggestion on how to fix this my transmission issue will be highly welcomed please house!!

i think u should get your car scanned. the codes will most likely give you a clue of the problem and probable solution. trial and error will cost you alot. find a competent benz garage that work wit diagnostic tool, they should be able to help you out of this wahala.

i had a similar experience with my e class. mine occurred when i replaced the rear wheel shaft. the car was scanned and the error was from the speed sensors. the speed sensors are located at the rear wheels and their job basically is to read the speed at which the wheels are running which will be communicated to the gearbox to select the appropriate gear. in my own case, what the mech did was to clean the speed sensors on the two rear wheels and it worked perfectly thereafter.
your mech should try it and see if it works well. alternatively, you can wait for the gurus to help you out.

i understand that most cars have their limit and i don't exceed such limits. what i refer to as speed limit is that speed at which the car begins to vibrate excessively. my first car, a toyota corolla 1990 will take me as fast as 140 kmph comfortably without the unnecessary vibrations. the second car i got, a golf mk 3 makes 160 kmph which has become my regular speed but the fastest i'd driven is 120 mph which is about 200 kmph on kaduna to abuja highway with my benz E430 2000 model. i was driving with two friends that didnt know much about cars so i told them we were moving at 120 kmph but they later realised it was a lie when we arrived zuba in one hour from kaduna. the whole trip which was kano to abuja was 3 hours 15 minutes.

A very powerful machine (270 Horse power), well balanced even at 200 km/hr, mula very reliable onboard computer (multifunction display) that relays almost every fault/error.

8. Worst features of Car:
(1)With so much power..... the car is no doubt a fuel guzzler (2)The air conditioner's compressor is prone to failure.. i had to buy another compressor and it has been working perfectly (3) The front bumper (mine was repaired twice) is relatively low can be easily damaged with naija's poor road network.

9.Developed problem:
The rear driving shaft was replaced immediately after purchase, compressor changed, fan belt failed on a journey and was replaced the next day, idler pulley replaced.

10. Would you buy or advice to buy another Used of It:
YES, BUT if you are not a fast rider and a fan of german machines, then don't go near this car... there's no point spending money on fuel & other periodic maintenance and wasting so much power of the V8.

i currently drive Mercedes Benz E-CLASS (E-430) Year 2000 model which has a V8 engine. i started having sleepless nights after test driving the monsterous V8, all that was on my mind was how i was going to arrange the cash for payment. although the car is relatively old with a mileage of over 240,000 miles, i couldnt resist the roar and rapid accelaration of the machine. i did a road trip from kano-katon karfe (Kogi)- Lafia (Nasarawa state)-kano and it was awesome. i will neva buy any car with I4 engine, i dont even want a V6 because i scared i might not love it as much as i love my V8.

i change my engine oil after every 3000km - 3500km or 3 months, whichever comes first. i dont have the car manual to confirm the exact manufacturer recommendation but i believe i'm not too far from it.
