The scholarship is either CAD 10,200 or CAD 12,700, depending on the length of study, and the money should be used for:

The Canadian post-secondary institution must meet the following requirements:

Be a Designated Learning University (DLI); have a valid student exchange agreement with the candidate's home institution that waives tuition costs for scholarship recipients;
Have a valid student exchange agreement with the candidate's home institution. For college and undergraduate research applications that do not include an agreement, a letter issued by the international office or equivalent of the Canadian institution will be accepted;

3. Applicants are to print out the underlisted documents after completion of the application online:

Regular Combatant

The Regular Combatant Commision is a 5 year intensive military training at the Nigerian Defence Academy. This type of commission is opened to young Nigerians within 17 years old and not more than 21 years old at the time of entry into the Academy. The training involves 4 years of both academic and military training and one year of dedicated military training, which will lead to the award of a Bachelor Degree and a presidential commission to the rank of Second Lieutenant in the Nigerian Army (NA), Midship Man in the Nigerian Navy (NN) and Flying Officer in the Nigerian Air Force (NAF). Until 2011, this course used to be exclusively for males. The first set of females commenced training in September 2011.







Direct Short Service Commision

The Direct Short Service Commission (DSSC) is a type of commission in the NAF which is open to both civilians and serving military personnel. The Course provides the avenue for the enlistment of degree holders who are professionals in specified fields. Training period for this type of commission is usually 6 months of intensive military training and successful candidates are commissioned into the rank of Flying Officer.







Basic Military Training Course

The Basic Military Training Course is a Short Period Training for the Airmen and Airwomen, not normally more than 6 months of training. It is mainly for those who possess Secondary School Certificate, National Diploma certificate, NABTEB, RN/RM/NCE or City & Guild Certificate and Trade Test Certificate. The BMTC is comprised of Non-Tradesmen/Women with age limit between 18 and 22, and Tradesmen/Women with age limit between 18 and 25.

About Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB)

The Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) is a Nigerian separatist group. Its major goal is to restore an autonomous nation of Biafra in Nigeria's Old Eastern Region, which includes sections of today's South-East and South-South Regions, as well as parts of Nigeria's Middle Belt states like Benue and Kogi, through an independence referendum. Nnamdi Kanu, a British Nigerian political activist noted for his outspoken backing of the present Biafran independence cause, created the group in 2012. In 2017, the Nigerian Terrorism Act designated it as a terrorist organization.

IPOB has chastised Nigeria's federal government for insufficient investment, electoral alienation, inequitable resource endowments, ethnic marginalization, heavy military presence, and extrajudicial murders in the country's south-eastern, south-central, and north-central regions. In the mid-2010s, the organization came to popularity and is presently the largest Biafran independence organization in terms of membership. It has received a lot of media attention in recent years as a result of the Nigerian government's regular political crackdowns. It also has a number of websites and communication methods that serve as the only reliable social infrastructure for instilling and educating its members with firsthand knowledge and news.




IPOB Leadership

Nnamdi Kanu, a dual British and Nigerian citizen, is the leader of both the Indigenous People of Biafra. He founded IPOB after becoming famous for his broadcasts on Radio Biafra, which was founded in 2009. This was a London-based radio station that broadcast messages calling for "Biafran liberation" and criticizing Nigerian government corruption. Kanu's ascent to prominence was aided by Radio Biafra, because he was previously unknown. On October 19, 2015, Kanu was arrested by Nigerian security forces on allegations of "sedition, ethnic provocation, and treasonable felony."

Nnamdi Kanu, the leader of the group IPOB, hasn't been to court since April 25, 2017, when he was charged by the government. He had been held for more than a year without a trial. On November 8, 2016, he was arraigned on charges of criminal conspiracy, membership in an illegal group, and intimidation. Several public protests, including the World Igbo Summit Group's in April 2017, led to his release on bail.




The judge said he needed better medical care that the prison couldn't give him because of his health. However, he was not allowed to give interviews, meet with groups of more than ten people, organize rallies, or attend social events. When Kanu didn't show up for work in September 2017, the Air Force and the Army attacked his home village, Umuahia, with a plan.

President Muhammadu Buhari Has Signed the Electoral Act Amendment Bill Into Law

During a radio broadcast, he says that President Muhammadu Buhari sent out the military to kill him in his home. The military says that this raid didn't happen, even though there is clear video of a gruesome attack. There have been rumors that Kanu fled to Israel for safety after a livestream video showed someone who looked like Kanu saying a prayer at the Western Wall in Jerusalem. Israel's foreign ministry said that they can't back up this claim because they don't have any proof of Kanu inside the country.




Now, the court has revoked Kanu's bail, and the trial judge Binta Nyako has ordered Kanu's arrest and said that his treasonous felony will go on even if he isn't there. In 2021, the Nigerian government said that Nnamdi Kanu had been re-arrested and that he had been freed. He was then charged with a crime again and sent to the state police command.




What the Obi of Onitsha said about sit at home

In an update, Igwe Achebe stated that following its discussion with the organization on Friday, April 1, this was agreed that a request for the release of IPOB leader, Mazi Nnamdi Kanu, would also be a step toward defusing tensions in the state.

He stated that following the meeting, the group issued a summons to all of its members, urging them to sheathe their swords, lay down their weapons, and engage in constructive conversation.

"We call on all who have followed the path of violence to lay down their weapons and accept the olive branch extended by the administration in order to better themselves," he stated.

Nigerian Federal Government establishes a committee to renegotiate the ASUU Agreement.

In his words, the state administration has designated April 4 as a date for prayers aimed at seeking God's face in order to restore sustainable peace in Anambra and the entire South-East region of the country.

"Igboland has suffered tremendously in the economic and social growth of the zone, and we are tired of the current scenario and want peace," he stated.

'It has been decided that on Sunday, April 3, all churches will declare the IPOB decision to their congregations, calling on them to come out on Monday, April 4, at 11am to their respective churches to pray for the restoration of peace and economic progress,' says a statement.

Ever since abduction and arraignment of IPOB leader Nnamdi Kanu by the federal government, there has been an increase in violent attacks on public facilities and on specific persons by gunmen, resulting in the destruction of property and the deaths of a number of people.
An apparent relationship has been established between IPOB, a group advocating for Nigeria's secession and the establishment of an independent state of Biafra, which they want to be carved out of the South-east and some sections of the South-south, and a series of violent attacks across the region.




Gunmen attacked the headquarter of Nnewi South Local Government Area in Anambra State, Nigeria's southernmost state, and razed it, according to reports. A security guard was reported slain in the attack.
In addition, on Friday, unknown gunmen attacked and set fire to the police stations at Osumenyi, Amichi, and Ezinifite, all of which are located in the Nnewi South Local Government Area of Anambra State.
