Prof. Akin Abayomi, Lagos State Commissioner for Health, says that about 260,000 people have been vaccinated against COVID-19 in the state. Abayomi told a ministerial media briefing on Tuesday in Lagos that the figure represented just one percent of the state’s population. Governor Seyi Makinde of Oyo State has expressed confidence that the ruling-All Progressives Congress (APC) will not be able to retain the presidency beyond the next general elections, which is in 2023. Over 20 inmates are expected to write the upcoming 2021 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) at the Ikoyi custodial center. The Nigeria Petroleum Development Company Limited (NPDC) on Saturday said over 10,000 indigent students from its host communities had benefited from its scholarship programmes since year 2000. Two arrested robbers have confessed to stealing a phone belonging to a 100-level Computer Science student of University of Calabar (UNICAL), Godwin Okoro. The robbers identified as Kingsley Mathias, 22, and Bassey Edet, 23, said they sold the N88,000 phone and later sold it for N10,000.
