Congratulation, same man who approved my Visa, very calm and stressless interview, he tries to approve every student before him, never even asked major questions I prepared for.
The baba looks like ancient of days for my eye
Yeah, that man is really calm and nice, he gave out 3 Approvals in my front while the lady that interviewed me gave out like 6 denials before me!! I can only imagine people's prayerpoint while on the queue

VISA EXPERIENCE:

SCHOOL: MOREHOUSE COLLEGE
RECEIVED $35K SCHOLARSHIP, DEFICIT: $13K

Abuja Consulate, Thursday 18th 7:30am

I was really nervous during the process, especially when on the interview queue!!! The Lady wasn't smiling at all, dishing out green papers anyhow, denied 5 people in front of me, then next, I was like do you mean me?

Me: Good Morning

V.o: Pass me your passport and i20

Me: Here you go

V.O: Why this School?

Me: Aside the fact that I was one of the few students who got selected into the oprah winfery scholars program at Morehouse college, am so interested about an on campus program, called Google in residence program, every year, Google assigns(Cuts in)

V.o: How did you get this scholarship?

Me: The oprah winfery scholars program is a very competitive program that is reviewed based on leadership Experience, community service exercises, good academic abilities, $5000 or less family contributions, and (cuts in)

V.o: What things did you do that made you qualify?

Me: I volunteered with rotary international for 4months for a field project in Northern Nigeria where I was raised, I was the vice president of my debate club in school, assistant band leader, plus my family's EFC which is less than $5000 as one of their requirements

V.o: Okay, what other schools gave you good options?

Me: I got into New Jersey Institute of technology, Rollins college, Clark Atlanta, Northern state, and Philander Smith College, and Birmingham Southern

V.o: Do you have a relative in the US?

me: Yes, but not a direct relative

V.o: I will be approving your Visa, here is an instruction to pick up your passport.

FOR THE ONES WHO GOT DENIED
It's a beautiful Sunday, the start of a brand new week and the last day in June 2019. We had lots of visa approvals this month and reasons to be grateful. Sadly, we equally had denials and now I am concerned about the latter.
So this one's for all who got denied recently, contemplating and probably getting ready to refire, this one's for all the ones wondering why the VO didn't give them a chance to speak, to explain, this one's for all who forgot a particular document and got sent away, this one's for the ones who froze at the sight of the VO, became blank and couldn't utter meaningful sentences, this one's for all those wondering if they can make it in the next attempt, this one's for all those who have cried their eyes out and no longer have tears to shed, for the ones who have screamed so hard and have lost their voices, this one's for the ones who have been snatched by the piercing claws of depression, who have been pulled into the darkness and their lungs gasping for air that isn't forthcoming, this one's for all those wondering what exactly went wrong, this one's for the ones questioning God and wondering why He let this happen, I mean where is God when bad things like visa denials happen!
Breathe. Please, just breathe for me. I see you, I hear you and I can't imagine what you have been through especially because you have poured yourself into the entire process, but I do know these:
Please, kindly check your email sis, I sent you a PM

Lolz! Return ticket? Flying from Nigeria? In August? ATL even won't come at $900 easily during off peak season and promo ticket sales period, not to mention August the father of high season. Hardly sir!

Or is it one way ticket you are hunting for?
Yes Sir, a one way ticket.. going for studies.
please what's the best way to get a cool price at that time?

And play with dates and nearby airports if flexible. New York almost always come cheaper too, but what you save by coming in through NY may be gulped by local means of transportation to final destination. So, do your calculations well.

Cheap tickets will come back from mid/deep into September sha
Going to Atlanta in August, Is it possible to get a price below $900?

is there a way to tweak the booking for a better price?

You are not paying anyone or buying data for us here in Nigeria, so please don't ask for a swift response next time grin grin grin
Please read my approved visa transcript and see where the VO asked about the sponsor's name on my I-20. Perhaps you haven't taken out time to READ your I-20.
It is not just a 3-paged document, it is a legal document and whatever is written on it, binds. Why do you think there's a column for your signature and that of your DSO?
If you want to change your sponsor, simply request a new I-20.
Don't allow the devil to use your visa chances to play candy crush grin grin grin
I wish you lots of wisdom.
Lol. Am sorry, I'll sub for you soon..
Thanks for your valuable response...
