CrimeRe: Caramelo Strip Club Raid In Abuja: FG Speaks by Dannyset(m): 11:12am On Apr 23, 2019
Esseite:
Not a fan of strip clubs but sometimes we need to see the bigger picture, why not raise the permit tax which in turn raises the cost of drinks and reduces patronage.. moreover if it was not in demand, their won't be patronage in the first place.

Do we throw the job creations away aswell:
Marketers
Engineers
Accountants
Human resources
Security
Lounge staff
Bar man
Wine sellers
Chefs
Building rental or purchase
Tailors for uniforms
Facility managers
Mechanic repairs for vehicles and staff cars
Gadgets and appliances purchase and maintenance
Carpentry works and maintenance
Metal works and maintenance
Interior decorators
Hotel lodgings
Gardener's for green area
Tourism income
Job creation for dancers
Etc...
In developed world, you will be arrested for patronising prostitutes(I don't know about strippers) because you make it thrive and it's patronage is against the law. But not arresting those earning a living from the business.
It's better to discourage the act than putting these people to hardship.

What do I know tho!

PoliticsRe: Bishop Wale Oke: Osinbajo Is The Light In The Midst Of Darkness In Aso Villa by Dannyset(m): 10:14pm On Apr 21, 2019
joshuisiukwu:
Bishop Wale Oke Founder of Christ Life Church in an interview, stated that Vice President Yemi Osinbajo is the light in the midst of darkness in Aso Villa. According to Bishop Wale Oke, Osinbajo is the light in the midst of darkness in Aso Villa because he’s been there for four years without any scandal.

“The point is it is easy to criticise. A lot of people don’t know the role that man is playing there. He is the ‘sole light’ in the midst of darkness in Aso Villa and he is doing his best”.

The cleric added, “On a personal level, he’s been there for four years without any scandal. He has carried himself with poise and dignity. His grasp of national issues, the analysis, the confidence with which he speaks, oh come on!

“Church, wake up and celebrate your hero and champion. On the two occasions on which he has acted as President, everybody knew everything was different. What else do you want him to do? He is not the President. There is a limit to the role of the vice president.

“He and the president are close because the President has found him trustworthy. We’ve had issues in this nation before where governor and deputy governor would be at each other’s throat.

“It was the same with the President and Vice President such that rather than getting busy with the administration of the country, they would be creating distraction. We don’t have that now. The man just wants to serve the nation. I give him kudos.
Was he referring to the Old pokenoser of the Federal Republic of Nigeria and the Cameroonian here?

PoliticsRe: Issue Certificate Of Return To Okorocha – MPO by Dannyset(m): 7:14am On Apr 21, 2019
Nkemakonam62:
The Missionaries and Pastors Organization of Nigeria (MPO) has called on the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), to release the certificate of return to the incumbent governor of Imo State, Rochas Okorocha, as the duly declared winner of Imo West Senatorial District.

Speaking at a conference in Lagos, the patron of MPO, Archbishop Onyeagoziri Okeugo, stated that it was unfair to withhold the certificate of return from Okorocha since he was announced the winner adding that, if there was any anomaly, it should be taken to court.

Onyeagoziri declared that the organization was making this call not for any personal interest but for that of the nation because, according to him, the international communities are watching.

“We commend INEC for the good job it performed during the general elections but the job is yet to be completed. We are calling upon INEC to release the certificate of return of His Excellency, Rochas Okorocha, who was duly declared as the winner of Imo West Senatorial District by the returning officer, we believe this is the right thing to do and anybody who is offended should go to court, which is the hope of the common man.

“We want INEC to note that eyes of international communities are watching, even a common man in the street knows that politics are being played somewhere and to complement with the spirit of integrity of President Muhammadu Buhari who stands against corruption.” He said.

He further stressed that the church is seen as the third eye of the nation with the ultimate goal of ensuring peace, tranquility and impartiality and as such, it is expected of it to open its eyes and comment when there is anomaly of any sort.

PoliticsRe: As Oil Producers,we Should Frustrate Sale Of Electric Cars In Nigeria Ekweremadu by Dannyset(m): 6:49pm On Apr 17, 2019
Xisnin:
Ekweremadu is right and Ben Bruce is not attuned to Nigeria's reality.
High-income countries are the ones legislating against fossil fuel.
They can afford to go without it.
Bruce bill is capable of disintegrating Nigeria.
Bruce is dumb no doubt about that as he's always shown to showcase the right thing at the very wrong time.

For a legislator of the DSP calibre, I don't expect him to use the word frustrate to kill that bill. Because of the environment the world is tilting away from using fuel to as source of energy to the barest minimum.
I think the Kano State Senator used the right words and it makes sense.
PoliticsRe: As Oil Producers,we Should Frustrate Sale Of Electric Cars In Nigeria Ekweremadu by Dannyset(m): 5:59pm On Apr 17, 2019
olas24u:
Deputy Senate President, Ike Ekweremadu, has said that, as an oil producing country, sale of electric cars in Nigeria should be frustrated.

“This will enable us to sell our oil,” Ekweremadu argued.

Ekweremadu spoke at the Plenary on Wednesday as the senators debated a bill sponsored by Senator Ben Murray-Bruce (PDP Bayelsa East ).

The News Agency of Nigeria reported that Murray-Bruce had sponsored a bill for an Act to phase out petrol vehicles by 2035 and introduce electric cars.

In his argument, the senator had argued that electric cars are healthy, economical and would not deplete the ozone layer.

“In no distant time, combustible vehicles would be phased out; and the earlier Nigeria buys into the change, the better.

“I own an electric car that I have been using for the past five years. It is cheaper to maintain and durable,” the senator added.

The bill ignited debates in the hallowed chamber, as each senator aired reasons for the rejection of the bill.

In his submission, Deputy Senate President Ike Ekweremadu commended Murray-Bruce for his “uncommon common sense and brilliant ideas,” but noted that the ancillary to Section 41 of the 1999 Constitution grants Nigerians freedom of movement; and that there is no need to introduce a law to mandate the use of electric cars.

Continuing, Ekweremadu said, “Besides, in economic sense, we are an oil producing country. So, we should do everything possible to frustrate the sale of electric cars in Nigeria to enable us to sell our oil.”

Senator Barau Jibrin (APC-Kano) said while electric vehicles no doubt would be more friendly to the environment and health, making its use mandatory was not feasible.

“We have to look at individual networth. Not all Nigerians can afford the vehicles at a given time.

“We all know the importance of vehicles in our daily activities. So, banning use of fuel cars will cause hardship, particularly for those who may not be able to acquire electric cars.

Murray-Bruce withdrew the bill ultimately.

The bolded is the close to best opinion anyone in Nigeria can use as an excuse not support the bill for now.
The DSP opinion of frustrating the use of electric cars is very shallow as one would expect a top lawmaker for that matter to know more about the environment now. Countries that produce more oil than Nigeria are already legislating the use of these cars and looking beyond oil for revenue. What a pity!

And the twitter warrior that sponsored this bill at this time, with our level of underdevelopment is just clever by half. Hes fund of doing the right thing at the wrong time.

We are lost!
