Schools may tell you that to give you an I20, in some cases when you get to the school you will have to show proof of proficiency even if your country's language is officially English (esp. Africans). if you do not have that, you might have to take mandatory 6 months of ESL, which is complacent to money wasted and time chewing. Some schools may require you to take English placement tests, to determine if you are college level proficient in English. "If" you do not pass that, you are going to have to take foundation English classes, which would not count in your gpa, also money wasted. So it would be good if you do take an English test, saves you money and stress of writing placement tests. Getting the Visa is not always everything, you may hear a different story when you come to the US.

thanks man you are a heaven sent, I currently applied convenient to one of the school you posted (troy) I think, thou yet to receive application confirmation, and as for the TEOFL test do you have any link or address I could just register and how much is it gonna cost me to apply and how long I am sorry I ask too much questions... thanks for your answers so far..

Bro, you forget to ask for a personal assistant that will help write your proficiency test and represent you on the interview date..

Your type will only succeed in making embassies tighten laws for real prospective students by making them buy expensive dollar first b4 Visa will be granted.

You need a school that you will "use" to get visa and escape, why not keep that to yourself and do your home work besides the VO's will obviously outsmart your type.

Your assumption is wrong man, read carefully before commenting, I am not a block head that haven't been reading threads and testimonies about how to answer question asked by the VO, and if i am not mistaking this forum act as a medium to get information quicker only if the right person for the question sees it, its better to get schools that has worked for someone than roaming round Google, I am gonna search google anyway for schools and thanks to good information I got here already now I am confident that legitimate bank statement I could have a chance to get a visa, all that happened because I left my shell and ask questions, so don't judge me man you know practically nothing about my personality or my goal.. as for the proficiency test some school don't demand for it because it is meant for non English speaking country I have done some relative search on that.... thanks for the information anyway

Firstly, Lemme assume that it was an agent who told you that you need to pay upfront before schools in USA issue i20 and you felt that the agent wanted to make money out of you and that is why you asked this question because If truly you searched for school, I am certain and sure that you will get schools who won't ask for upfront payment before they issue your I20..

For you to say you have been finding it so hard to get schools who won't ask for upfront, I believe you have searched for weeks and you have seen over 20 schools who asked you to pay upfront before they will issue i20 for you if I am not wrong with my theory.

Well I must tell you that 0.000000000001 percent of schools in USA will ask you to pay upfront before issuing i20 for you and it's very rare to see those kind schools in your online research.

Maybe you misread it . Schools do not demand for upfront payment instead they request for evidence of fund such as bank statement to prove you or sponsor can afford the fees .
That is what is requested to release i20 and not to actually pay the school fees

Hello guys I need your help with an important information, I should this is my first request on naira land: I currently want to apply for student visa and I have been finding it difficult to get a school online in USA that does not demand school fees payment upfront before awarding 1-20form, to be more direct and precise I want to get admission without paying school fees yet and use the admission to get my student visa, so please admin or any person that is in position to help me with the any school he or she knows that does that should please help me out..
