Family / Re: What Do We Expect A 40 Year Old Man To Have Achieved In Nigeria? by dapotemi: 10:37am On Aug 13, 2023
Nice2023:
I just clocked 40 year old and I feel as if I have not done well for myself. May be because I had always set a standard, hence my high taste and expectations.

Now goes the question,as a Nigerian, what achievement do one expects from a 40years old man irrespective of his education?

A healthy, personal relationship with your maker... Every other thing is what Yoruba called "panti", that is refuse....The richest man ever lived, King Solomon says it's all vanity and does not define YOU!
If you have that relationship, then you will have rest of mind, you will worry less and watch God takes care of you and yours...
Don't let anyone tells you it's a big house, cute kids, beautiful wife, money in the bank, passport/visas , thriving biz or good job..Rather tell tell them to look at Noah, he has all of this and even more but what happen, he lost everything in the twinkle of an eye but MUCH MORE was restore to him because he has the most important one, a healthy relationship with his maker...You should rather focus on that and stop chasing refuse in d dump site.
On the flip side, you're now in the second half of your life, and that is if you're lucky o, time to reshape your vision and focus on d most important thing ..

I usually receive calls from young folks saying they just got an offer but the salary is small. My advice is usually is, PLS TAKE IT!
Once that small salary can cover your TP and meal, pls do it..you need engagement, you won't get it sleeping at home, it is from that small job, you get to meet people, you get engage, you get lucky ad a bigger one might come...
If you drive indians to site for 5k, who knows what that could lead to? Who knows?
Rather you tell him it's too small but you won't help him with shishi....

5k for each Saturday work even if they spent 5hours or more in site....Mae Una dey pity Una fellow people collegue now

It's an offer, you either take or reject!
The driver who might need this probably don't have a car to drive, not driving presently, maybe just sleeping at home that is even if he has a place to sleep...5k will be alot of money to him at the moment...
I have some around me here, would you rather just send them the 5k or more so they can go back to bed!!! You know what, whoever is not doing anything now needs ENGAGEMENT, that little Waka can open doors, bigger one..Better than nothing.
My opinion.

Who are those selling Lands in Lagos?

There are owners and there are REAL OWNERS.
Most cases, the real owners are hibernating somewhere and they are not hungry or in a hurry..
Lagos is one of the most dangerous place to buy land...Within the last 3 years, I have heard of similar judgement in ijora/orile, Magodo shangisha and now apapa ..Infact, Nig breweries now dey negotiating table because they have lost that land where their brewery is situated around costain...
You have to be very very careful with Lagos land, reason why I LOL when some people say they have bought the whole of Lagos...Just wait dey play.

Good morning comrades.
I'm discussing with a partner on a rental. 40k weekly. Then he wants all repairs on the driver. His reason is that it will make the driver handle the car like his own. But am proposing to handle repair below 15k and we share repair above 15k 70:30. 70% for the car owner.
Also, he want car to be returned for inspection every Saturday morning and I take it back Sunday evening. But am proposing twice a Month for inspection and not weekly.
I need experience drivers and partners to tell me if am wrong.

40k weekly is a steal..TAKE IT!
I won't do less than 50k....
According to the survey here, the least you take home per day as net is now btw 30k-40k, if you now join the telegram, we're looking at 50k net, except the day you want to join the lazy gang team and you'll still make 42k net..
Pls take it fast before someone else will outsmart you.

How many of these people yapping can take care of their aging mothers? It's a herculean task that most men dare not. For the record, Felicity mother is staying with him and not the other way round as being portrayed here. The entire gibberish of expose was uncalled-for. Even the one that got married on Tuesday in Epe magistrate court is coming to weigh in on the matter talking about bride price, but had a secret wedding that is worth less than a night out in a bar.

Hello house, pls want your opinion. I’ve been following this thread for a while now and I want the people doing bolt to advise me. I wanna give out one of my cars to my friend ( Corolla 2010 sport ) for Uber / bolt purpose. But I don’t wanna be too greedy and also don’t wanna be stupid. I see some people post they earn 33k to 45k per day here and I’m wondering if it’s true. Because with that calculation , lemme use 30k minimum per day times 6 days a week that’s 180k per month. How real is this pls??

Yes o!!! The average we make daily is 60k gross, net is usually 40k-45k...start first! When you start, you will see REALITY that is different from the balablu they post here...Abeg make I enter class jare.

if you've been following this thread, you wont ask this question. The average driver here lives better than a salary earner. Most gross 800k-1M a month and some even say they earn more with the fuel increase

As the owner of the capital, requesting just 20% of revenue is not bad.

Ensure you get a strong surety though

Really, I don't know.

The results also suggest hand drilling provided there is a provision for blasting of rocks from 6-8m otherwise not recommended. And that's what one of the companies told me too as their machines are literally interested in drilling rocks. Maximum overburden for them is 30m.

Bros, pls can you share update on the drilling you finally did around mowe axis then.. Positive?

What documents do you have on the land? And what documents do they have?
What is the size of the land they claim?
Land use act 1978 vests all land in the state.
For info call 08069018449

My own case is quite funny...
Bought a land for 4m in 2020 in Ogun state(half plot). Now this is the twist.
The land is a 2 plot of land (120 by 60 *2), fence round but this seller decided to sell one plot (120 by 50), then sold half for me for 120 by 25, what they have remaining was 120 by 45....
At first, I got a buyer for the last one but the person did not buy because he insisted that it's not a full plot (120by45)...
One Alhaji later got it, when Alhaji started foundation, enter my own space and they call my attention, luckily na the same person sell the land for all of us...na so argument start o, Alhaji insisted that his land is 120by60, and that he's a surveyor and nobody can cheat him, luckily for me, the seller insisted that what he sold for Alhaji is 120by45....
Na the wahala we dey drag, I have a receipt but Alhaji no get, He just transferred money to them...
When Alhaji got info that I paid 4m, he was mad because they collected 11M from him...He felt cheated so he say he won't buldge...Oga come and shift ur foundation now, na d wahala we dey o..
On a low key, I dey fear Alhaji because he looks like one old Abija, one of this herbalist for Yoruba movie, make d man no come nak me jazz...so I just dey try calm am down, dey respect am..moreso, Alhaji is a surveyor, with years of experience but he was jus unlucky because he was not around when he made payment..Alhaji is older than my father...We have been on it for like 4 month now...I just weak

U r Insulting now, if u get insulted back u will say it's driving that has skewed drivers mentality. Tell us, what has been twisting ur mentality these days?
U sound cold today, It's like ur boss has washed u down this morning. Or u r sad to see someone making more than your full months salary in 1week.
That's how u will be bragging, but ordinary 1.5m to buy car, u will need office loan to do so.
Always saying u come from a different place; guy u come from nothing. I know ur type. Shishi u no get, ur background is underground, probably it's ur wife that's supporting your home, but u will be online yarning dust. No let me unleash Pope Vs Felicity with u o. I don repent. I want to remain pure, no come stain me.

U aren't proud to tell us what u do for a living, we don't need to see your pay slip. Just tell us what u do, dont even bother about your company name. Atleast I am a proud driver, (which u admire but never can be) and I have said it countless times what I did before I resigned and started ehailing full-time.

If u can't say this is what I am doing then u aren't fit to be a coach or counsellor, or to advise or direct anybody.

Ride on proud driver!!!! Engagement is costly now...

The simple truth here is everybody ain’t built to be an officer worker neither is anyone born to be a driver. But the hustle that gives you fulfillment and success is worth doing well.

So bro if that is what gives him joy and put food on his table bro he’s not doing bad as far as am concerned.

I dehumanize anybody’s hustle cuz myself am a graduate of Computer Science from Babcock University and I left both Skye Bank and FCMB to learn mechanic cuz I was miserable working in bank both as ET back then.
I agree with you.. He's not being dehumanize.
It's just necessary that we don't always try to sound foolish so they won't abuse us that we don't think because we are driver....Once you're happy then it's good to go!!!
