The way some people easily get pissed off and begin abusing on this thread...smh grin

They use the spirit of danfo driving to drive uber

Don't be surprised, it is one of the quality or xteristics you need to absorb when you drive long hour....if you move closer, they also take hemp and the other white powder.

Benard5050:
I worked in a school for four years and I decided to resign to establish my own business, a laundry business to be precise.

Immediately I gave my boss a month's notice, she turned me into her enemy immediately, and she became so bitter towards me.

The school is run by husband and wife and I discussed with d husband who is the director that I still wish to maintain the room in the staff quarter till December that the house rent should be deducted from my last salary because our rent is being deducted every month from our salary.

The director agreed, wished me well and even advised me further on other things.

My last day at work was Wednesday and happened to be my birthday, this woman never wished me a happy birthday but instead a full manifestation of bitterness that was open to all to see. I made sure I fulfilled her requests but I cried cos I felt let down and betrayed... I joined the school when the college was only jss1 and 2 and now with d help of God and my hard work and those of others, the school has developed and grown to ss3

I'm into teaching aspect and also extracurricular activities that I do teach the students and won many things for the school regarding that.

I left unceremoniously and I felt so sad and betrayed...

Yesterday the director messaged me I'll have to vacate the room I'm occupying and this house is where I'm doing laundry, I planned to be there till Dec and then move away when I start making some money from my laundry.

How can humans be so inhuman and ungrateful?

I have nothing to say to them, I put everything in God's hand.

You rather played yourself and stop being unnecessarily emotional...You resigned without having a solid exit plan..They will have to employ someone else to replace you and if you still have the room, where would the new staff stays? I love the plan that you opted for a biz, but your plan was not good enough! The truth is, you were too emotional and your decision was skewed....You assumed "they care so much about you",not knowing that their biz priority was number one ..Yes, the director was nice, chatty and friendly and that is because he's a MAN! By the time madam start wahala, he had to buldge...it's your fault and I wish you well.

Don't understand what is going on here, not talks about people's experience on the road or how fuel is used or just life experiences while ehailing, it's how one is spending money on house or how he lives, I learnt quite a lot before I gave my car out for ehailing, came here trying to see if what my partner is complaining about is true, I learnt quite a lot here when trying to get a car for uber, the right app to use, the routes to avoid, the way to handle situations especially with police and the sorts, what to have on one's car and the rest, but all that's here now is just banter.

Please for us still learning the ropes can this thread go back to the way it was once was?

My partner is saying the fares on the indriver app and others Haven't been adjusted to suit the current hike in fuel , don't know if this is true or no

Sure nah, price is higher as driver can now do Ajo of 400k per month...awon oniro oshi.....

Trust me, if the salary is big, d person will not be doing Uber on d side.
I can't even remember d last time I woke up by 5am to go and work except when I am pursuing my other businesses and trying to beat traffic.
I know what I want in life, and ehailing is giving it to me easily. I left paid employment, I resigned with my hands no be say anything happen. The total amount of ajo I do a week is more than 100k.
I don't answer to anybody, write query when I am late or get sent on errands that they can kidnap me, I don't wait for oga to leave office before I go home, I am in control of my life.
I can sleep at home for two weeks in a month and still make 2times the salary of a Lagos big boy.
Every endeavour has its own advantages and disadvantages, let's do whatever pays us, whatever is working for us and whatever makes us fulfilled and happy.
I will never pull down any hussle, whether corporate job or business, others should learn to do same.

Big salary is relative, what is big to you might be very small to me & vice versa..I see people picking passenger at Eko hotel with Benz and they don't look like driver....
I agree with u that every endeavour get pros and cons, never rule that out and I think this your "am not answering to anybody is just your own mind playing with you" .In ehailing, YOU answer to the APP guys, they decide whether you can drive or not!!They can stop you anytime and make a damn request! They also query you, maybe u never think am.
Waking up 5am for some of us is a response to Lagos traffic, my house to island is approximately 25 mins or less but na 2/3 hours if traffic grab you and it is standard but recently it seems traffic has really gone down, we can adjust again..
And you saying ehailing is giving u what you WANT (not even what u need) in life is shocking... I'll try my best not to engage you again sir, ah shock catch me... Ehailing giving u what you want in Life! Quite obvious. Could be as a result of where you're coming from.
Lastly, on the Ajo and all the enjoyment you've ascribe to being a driver, I leave the joke to you.
@ BAZOO pls return ASAP, drivers are balling now o, better than washing dishes in congo.

Person leave home by 5 yesterday and got home 8pm after 15 hours, because his oga went home early. Else, he for reach house late. The only reason he even grossed 22k that he's showing off na because oga comot by 3. grin

Therefore on a normal day,

1. he doesn't get home by 8
2. If he gets home by 8 he doesn't gross 22k everyday he goes to answer oga sir for office.

Same yesterday, my first trip was 10:30am. My last trip was 10:56pm. After 12hrs and 30 mins

But somehow, na who use 15hrs work dey lecture una on mental health and una dey listen? grin Someone I sleep better than? grin

Okay. Make una analyze this one. If I gross 45k in less than 13hrs. How much do you think I can gross from 5am to 8pm, a range of 15hrs?

Full-time driver has more time to himself than you do, and grossed more than you do. Your salary inclusive.

Make una dey listen to their rubbish ehn... Dey play.

Makes sense, he should learn a skill like carpentry, welding, painting etc

Oh yeah, I just remembered that driving is also a skill wink

Bros, one of the BIGGEST mistake of my life was post secondary sch...Took me about 3 yrs before I could get admission, all because I wanted to go to Unilag and they gave a course I don't want...All in all, 3 years Waka...Now what was I doing within that 3 years? I got a cleaning job with a company in surulere, salary was 5k, transport taken care of, fairly okay. In my dept, we do floor/tiles polishing and that was the job that took me to nearly all the embassies at Walter Carrington....My regret? I should have used that period to learn valuable skills, any of what you mentioned above or something else.
Just maybe, my life could have been better....
A friend of mine, grew up on the street together, learnt some furniture/cabinet/upholstery work within that period, later went to Lasu. He graduated about 5 years after myself and he reached out for a job. I helped him get a placement where I worked. He was with us for 3 years but always complaining about money, about not finding joy...Later he left and went back to his furniture business, started small..Through goodwill he was getting all furniture work from the company and alot of referrals..Up till now, if I jam the guy invoice like this, fear dey catch me, he gave me 500k when I had my baby earlier this year, no other gift came close.
Bros, if I had jump into Uber driving then, assuming there was, I would probably still regret it!!!

Cc : Dapotemi, Pearl

Good morning boss? When I read Dapotemi’s Post last night, the will to ask some questions entered my body, but I’m like you just got out of one fiasco, avoid whatever that may seem as misunderstanding that will lead to gbas gbos. Not until I read IFRSC comment and Pearl that some how align with my tots.

You load 22k yesterday and still able to keep your salary. Do you know some full time drivers didn’t even get to make that yesterday? How often do you get to make this? Do you know that where you live determines a lot? Gigo how much do you make in a week? These will help us reach some vital conclusion I get.

Pearl made some point where he hit on his peace of mind and this has been everything for person like me. I’m up when I’m up, gosh! Right now I don’t want to go through that stress of not willing but I have no choice. That’s what the 5am stuff does to me. I stand in the bathroom and all my teeth is feeling heavy. I have a friend that won’t leave office unless his boss is out of work. Even if he is in the office having some fun with friends, a dude ain’t going no where till oga leaves. Your own work provides you the chance to leave at 3, some don’t even know where they left their body after work and pressure. I am not saying anything loud. Advice is good, and I seriously like the direction is better than speed, but I want you to understand it is not that easy.

At IFRS, I have to quote you because you’ve said it all, let all do what is good for them. Skills can’t be underrated. School or not, one should be good at something. I want to believe you were a driver before living for UK. Do you know same UK is where we back home always got discouraged not to try. If 5m can get one to Uk nd there’s heaven there, I don’t think that is an issue for me. And where did I save such money from? Purely from driving. My point! I want to believe you must have seen people saying nothing in Uk, but anyway you pushed on. Life is deep and I still believe we are fighting different battles. Learnt mine when a friend of mine bought car at 20, deep within I tot he was stupid for using his first win to buy a car, till he bought 2nd, 3rd, 4th to luxuries. Sometimes I do feel we human worry so much over nothing, but at the end life is going to do what it is going to do anyway.

NB : I don’t pray to stay on this hustle for as long as I have spent anymore. For anyone that understands projectile.

Nah oga pope, I actually did that to give a reply to Omoapena because of what he posted...I felt a little bit unease reading that. You cannot do the same thing over and over again and expect a diff result..in my response, I posted a screenshot which, personally I never wanted to do....
Now to you, if what am doing works for me, I will continue to LET YOU KNOW ABOUT IT! I strongly believe it is what this thread is meant for. I am still in the Hussle, atleast I have done one trip today and I still have a vehicle on rental. I am only asking Omoapena and others like him to do it in another way!
Bros, I have been a FULL TIME DRIVER and a part-time driver/salary, I have tasted both and l believe one is better, and from my experience I will continue to share knowledge on the one I know to be better...No be everytime, e dey sweet, e dey sweet as pearl dey always bobo una, e hard die and there is another way!
You have said it many times that to make reasonable money you MUST drive for long hour..another one is mentoring people to drive from 5am to 4am but they are SILENT on what that will do to your HEALTH, FAMILY, RELATIONSHIP, GOALS etc....
I purposely included Family in my post yesterday, to show you that they need you and you need them.My family relationship suffers the most when I drove full time. Most of you have lost relationship, who amongst you can attend a wedding on Saturday, when surge full everywhere....the young man that's using my car never attend church for months, he has a wife and kid. This is the story of many of you but lies from hell won't make you admit..Dey play..abi, who go go sit down for church when surge full everywhere.
You see, query at work is part of the job, we dey get am and we dey answer am, we dey also give others query too. If I continue to put in the hardwork , would aim for CFO in a couple of years. If this thread still dey, what do you think the discussion will be? I no get tire, fuel cost, lastma catch me etc. Wouldn't you prefer that than the daily exposure to the shenanigans of Lagos olosho from Radisson to Marriott, to presken to fourpoint, opening boot like 50 times a day! What has happen to your mental health?

Do you also have any advice for those of us who are also struggling with ehailing but aren't graduates or weren't fortunate enough to attend a university?

Get a SKILL, sir .
Do not make part time work full time Hussle. Get DIRECTION... I'm on my first trip to island now

I’ve given up all hope in this ehailing, I can’t continue this nonsense any longer…

Direction is more important that speed. Take your time to find it!
If you're a graduate, find a job and do ehailing part-time.This Hussle was not really design the way most of you are doing it. You're human and not some robot! Don't let anyone tell you to drive from 5am till 4am, you're not a gorilla.
I don't like doing this but let me share my screen. Took my first ride to island today, did another 2 trip then resume at my desk b4 8am..Luckily , my oga bolt around 3pm, na so me sef japa and the trip I got took me to Ikeja, waited to get a trip to my area then I saw this trip to island again, time was less than 30 mins so I picked, drop off at ikoyi and got a trip immediately to my area, bought 5k fuel and am home, resting.I no overwork, car no overwork, eat dinner with my family, check her homework and will go to bed soon , month end I go get alert...This is how ehailing should be, GET DIRECTION!
Half of the time you're using to drive up and down, dust your CV, get a job!
It shall be well with you sir...#ProJob

Na you did it wrongly as I've once said here.
If you accept a ride on indrive, don't call the passenger. Just send them a message on the app and drive to pick up. If the passenger cancels before you get to the PU, you will get notified and money will be added to your refund purse.
Mistake some drivers always make is that, they will call passenger before they even start moving and they will cancel if passenger no pick their calls. In such case, indrive will take your money.
Best to do is, don't call passenger. Just send message.
The only time you can call passenger is when you don click arrive at the PU point. If any cancellation should happen after waiting for 5mins, you will get your money in your refund purse.
Note: if you message some passengers, dey no go reply but will call you by themselves, once they call you with a number, na the number make you call from your phone dial pad. Don't call from the app link.

Much respect, baba.

Okay then..thanks for your time. Appreciate

I disagree.. I have no statistics to back this up,most fatal cases involving drivers and their cars happened during the ungodly hours of the day.
That means, a precedent has been set. So if a driver then now choses to drive at night and to worsen it, pick strangers from a notorious bus stop.
Then, the chances of being mugged has been certainly increased by that said driver.

I actually agree with u tho and am glad you said MOSTLY! Driving at night, picking up passengers at bus stop etc but also, there is something the good book refers to as UNFORESEEN CIRCUMSTANCES, even when you have done everything right, shit can still happen....Even if it is 1% or whatever percentage you want to ascribe to it, people still get mugged down even in daytime. You see, your truth and my truth can stand side by side...Thanks for your response sir and that is the direction am pointing to izzou but the other young man says they're shading him...One thing is very common among Obi supporter, they create a scenerio in their head, and start rejoicing and fighting imaginary enemies .E lo fokanbale, awa o ba enikan ja...How do you even fight a ghost?

Indrive can be so frustrating and making someone angry unnecessary, how can one accept a ride and drive down to pickup only for the rider to cancel the trip at pickup location and indrive will just remove their commission within minding whether you went on that trip or not....

I'm so frustrated rn

LOL, further to this I also notice something.. Usually I used btw 4k to 6k as commission weekly but at a time I notice I was entering 7 to 8k so I decided to pay more attention..Mehn those guys na thief..I accept a ride, called rider twice but did not pick and I cancel..I did not move an inch..Commission deducted, maybe because I called rider but the funny thing is I could not find the trip details...Like I wanted to write to support but I no see all the info about the trip...now I know how my money dey vanish, atleast let me see the trip details nau so I know where the commission enter but nope..and because I cancelled alot, indriver just open office for my head.

Haba
If we have to blame someone.
i will rather we blame the thief trying to rob a guy like him doing legit hustle.
Why stab him to death ?
D thief is d evil here.

Then we can share blame with Agbado Pablo president removing subsidy with cushioning effects.

Then d driver partially who did offline like cabu cabu and him go loose guard.

There is a popular saying among the oluyole people of Ibadan. Whenever a thief is caught, instead of them to reprimand the thief, they will rather ask the OWNER why he decided to put his stuff where the thief was able to sight it. Unfortunately, it's no longer just the Ibadan people now, it has now spread even among us and it shows how unfortunate our situation has become... I'll rather stick to this popular bible quote, " For man does not know his time, just as fish are caught in an evil net and birds are caught in a trap, so the sons of men are ensnared in a time of disaster, when it suddenly overtakes them, or put in your word, when you suddenly LOOSE GUARD....
Those of you that thinks you have the wisdom to navigate evil, pls CONTINUE but remember that the swift do not always win the race and it's better to heed the calm and "cruise" word of the wise than the shouts of the one ruling among fools.... Ecclesiastes 9:17.

Adversity (our shared pain, as e-hailing drivers) was supposed to bring us together. Rather, it has further thrown us apart to the extent that I can count as many as four different factions in this house.

How do we even begin to make amends? How are we supposed to help each other like this? To what end does this thread exist? For our prides? For our egos? Or as a union of like-minded fellows interested in lifting each other up?

What exactly are we doing here?

Almost 3 years ago when he wrote this statement, the situation still perhaps remain the same....Maybe it's good for those of us that come here to unwind but I don't think it's good for the daily driver...

Stop remembering some imaginary dude that somewhat attacked u YEARS back..I can't even remember who and who I had an engagement with last week..The way you can do this is to find a job, get busy, go for some certifications/training, even if it's on how to sell lemon car, it will surely come handy someday..If you do that, your life will be more meaningful, less dramatic and you won't answer madam when next she's sending you to mile 12...
