We may yet witness the end of terrorism and corruption in Nigeria
Let them keep deceiving you, ee yah, Some Nigerians are so gullible. Before Binance became a household name in Nigeria, was there no corruption, embezzlement and terrorism. Even countries where crypto is partially and totally banned. They still battle with terrorism. So you are proud of Nigerian Intelligence agencies in a rotten system like this Nigerai. Money laundering and terrorism financing is more than you think. This primary school kindergarten financial crime investigation can take them nowhere. At the end, of the day they will have no case against Binance.

You are not objective, you are just talking out of bitterness and deprivation. What has Elumelu done to you to deserve such wish, You cant compare Elumelu with the likes of some greedy capitalists in this country. Elumelu is a man of impact, His philantropic gesture has impacted lives not only in this country but across the continent especially youths. Entrepreneurs have being made through him.

Hmmm...one thing I know for sure is, if u have money in Binance then that money is gone.
Oga, you are not a Binance user, go sit down. I still traded and withdrew on Binance yesterday. Binance has obligations to its clients which no government can erode . The app still works. Majority of these people especially the CBN dont know and understand blockchain technology they just deceive gullible Nigerians who are not well informed.

Thanks, Mr Boss, Obinna Iwuno, majority of these things the CBN know all these processes but they like deceiving gullible Nigerians through propaganda to make Binance look like a saboteur and a culprit. That is why Binance is calling their bluff. They know the kind of leaders we have. So the Nigerian Government want to tell Binance they do not follow compliance procedures or they dont know what they are doing.. Even the CEO of Binance, Richard Teng is a financial market regulator. Ok, i am still expecting $1 to #800 fair value , Mr. Cardoso. Yeye Government.

FuckYeyeMods:
This government deserve to be giving a proper support.
It totally shows they know what they're doing.
If its another government, they will ban Nigerians from Binance entirely but they show that they are actually after fixing the loopholes.
Either you support the government or not, we know the president that would have force Binance to close all accounts of Nigerians on binance or completely bare the network.
The government cannot force Binance to close Nigerians accounts, Binance is not a Nigerian Bank, and they are not bound by any law in Nigeria. They owe obligations to their clients. Binance also has a strong legal team, they have won cases in the past.
BusinessRe: The End Of Naira, NGN, On Binance by dappydozzy(m): 7:20pm On Mar 05, 2024
VanuatuWycombe:
Why that didn’t work at all was because Aboki BDC were (and are still) picking their rate from Binance which CBN didn’t know until now.

Of CBN is able to delist NGN/USDT on Binance, it should still go after Abokifx again and other ni aria currency speculation sites.
CBN should tell all IP service providers and telcos to block those sites up to the level of not being accessible via any VPN.
Only authorized trading sites should be left to function.
You make me laugh, the statement you made shows how naive and foolish you are, you are not IT- inclined, the telcos and IP service providers dont have that capabilty, Even China and Iran that uses DPI to monitor internet VPN traffic have not being able to block their citizens from using VPN to access restricted services. You just go for a strong and privacy oriented VPN.

Blacklion3:
Crypto is being used to move funds with less scrutiny. You can't know better than the CBN when it comes to tracking their own money.
Money leaves a trail
It is very easy to scrutinise crypto transactions, it is just that the way the government is going about it is very silly, They are using that has an excuse to decieve Nigerians, Every centralized crypto exchange has a compliance unit, they could have approached Binance to provide the information about the transactions instead of portraying Binance as a culprit. This is the reason why Binance does not give a damn, they know the kind of leaders we have. Crooks in power.

Ola9ja23:
The we place permanent ban on Binance and other cryptocurrencies

Enough of economy sabotage
It is impossible to ban cryptocurrencies, Nigeria does not have the wherewithal. Because it moves within a decentralized financial system. Even in China, where crypto is under ban, Chinese still hold crypto, infact Singapore which Onanuga is talking about , they have a huge number of crypto holders majorly among the youth population. Crypto is people's money, economic freedom. My friend, Crypto is bigger than you, and the Nigerian government. They just keep brainwashing you with their idiotic propaganda. This government is really clueless, all what they are doing now, are just cosmetic measures, Binance will be vindicated in a matter of time. This government just keep disgracing itself and making itself a laughing stock in the international community.

But it cared enough to send its representatives to Nigeria. Dey there dey whine.

Binance knows what it stands to lose if it loses Africa's biggest market. If Binance is banned in Nigeria, many other African countries will follow suit in a matter of months.

FYI, Nigeria will work. And anyone who isn't happy about it won't witness it
That is a big lie, my friend. Other African countries dont follow Nigeria on issues of their economies, this country is a shithole. Other countries you are talking about have more strictly regulated forex markets, not a country where everything goes. These countries have high financial inclusion rates than Nigeria. A country that cannot successfully implement a cashless policy will now dictate the tune for other African countries. Very funny.

The Nigeria Government can be very funny, do they even know what brought about the invention of the cryptocurrency, i just dey laugh and i will keep on laughing, Crypto is bigger than Binance, P2P is bigger than Binance. If they like they should keep fining and banning crypto exchanges, i go soon buy more USD and buy more luxuries, No job for the youth, due to complacency, small openings which some people get they will block it. Can they win the case, or they think Binance will just cough $10 billion. Yeye people. The litigation will be lengthy. They did gragra more than this with Twitter, where did it end ? They kidnapped Binance officials now demanding ransom , yeye government. Some dont even know the meaning of P2P. If African countries block Binance and crypto, they are doing a lot of disservice to their people, because they have the highest inflation rate in the world, all countries of the global north that are denying Binance access have better living conditions for their citizens and their inflation rates are low. Crypto is just one of the ways of hedging inflation. Nigerian Govt go really tire o. If i even prayer for this government, everything go crumble before your eyes. But for now, i still dey laugh. Confused people.

Our allegiance to Ethnicity is far greater than our allegiance to Nationality.

Surely, we would be better off existing as different Ethnic Nationalities instead of co-existing in this forced Geographical Contraption called Nigeria. 🤔
But if you exist as different ethnic nationalities, you will still suffer the consequences of what you are suffering now. You think building a strong nation, is an easy task. Go and ask the people of South Sudan how market. Go and also ask China, India how they developed their economies, it is not bread and butter. Powerful and strong nations of the world were built through sweat and blood. It requires strong and talented leadership and sacrifice from the citizenry. One former presidential candidate will tell us the solution of Nigeria is from moving from consumption to production, even an ordinary secondary school student knows that, he never gave us his roadmap. Can a nation like Nigeria be taken from consumption to production within a year or two and become a prosperous economy within a year or two, with my understanding of macroeconomics, it is impossible. As you are thinking about finding solutions to national problems, you must also be thinking of saboteurs, i know Nigeria's problems cannot persists for long, it will actually fade in no time. No matter, how hard the times, it will always favour me.
In God we trust, God bless The Federal Republic of Nigeria.

SenecaTheYonger:
For something to be valuable, it should have a use. What is the use of USDT outside crypto trading. Compare it with the use of actual USD (oil, exportation, loan, medical, tourism, etc.)

I don’t have any problem with USDT but it should not be used as exchange rate for Nigeria’s economy.

USDT is printed by a random company called Tether, same way you can print meme coins in BNB chain, by imputing a bunch of values and boom. Not saying USDT is from BNB network. It’s from Tether.

But the USD is printed by the United States Department of Treasury and is backed by the US government and military.
Interesting, what concern the US military about the US dollar, Is the military a fiscal or monetary authority in the US ?Oversabi. Is the US dollar really backed by value ? You need to learn more about the global financial system. The USD is not printed by the US Department of Treasury, but by the US Federal Reserve through its subsidiary, the US Bureau of Engraving.

Very expensive.
Wetin this one dey talk ? We are talking about broadband data, you talking another thing, what matters in a data service is speed and bandwidth, we are moving into web 3 and metaverse, AI and IOT, all these technologies will need more bandwidth. This is a welcome development. Nigeria will be great again.
A lot of people just complain everyday in this country, A country where every challenge is a road to profitable enterprise. It is left for lazyminds to stop coming to Nairaland, to complain instead of thinking outside the box. It is not easy to be a leader, but some people just think it is 2+2, giving advice to government, it is easier said than done. Keep your advice to yourself. And let the sailor steer the ship. Good day.

Epstein:
It is of no benefit to any economy......popular amongst criminals to disguise sources of funds and engage in illicit trades.

It's volatile, unregulated and risky - and certainly not a profession.

Go back 20 years and most criminals dey talk say na 'Forex' dem dey trade!
Who told you that ? You need more education about crypto and how the ecosystem works, the reason some people believe cryptocurrency has no benefit to the economy is because the country's digital literacy rate is still low. Everything about crypto is not for tech laggards, but the tech smart and early adopter. About regulations, the US and the EU are already regulating their crypto ecosystems, By 2025,regulations will come on full swing on the crypto industry. Why is a country like El Salvador investing in Bitcoin ? When it has no benefits, you need to understand the place in the global financial system before you can understand its benefit to an economy. Bitcoin is digital gold, and for your information , cryptocurrency can traced and tracked and criminals apprehended, It is what i do as a cryptocurrency auditor and investigator.

All banks should move their headquarters to Abuja.
Did you even go to school, you analyse issues from ethnic perspectives, Banks headquarters are located in economic and financial capitals. How many of America's biggest banks are situated in Washington, DC. Also take a look at China, their biggest banks are located in Shanghai, as well as the International financial centre in Hongkong. For the fact that justifiable reasons were given for this relocation, there is nothing to fuss about. The employees at the head office are over bloated than its installed capacity. So always have the right information and deep knowledge and shun ethnic sentiment before coming to Nairaland to talk trash.
