ChiefOloye:Bishop Kukah has always being a stakeholder in Project Nigeria, since early 90's, he was the Secretary of the Oputa Panel on Human Rights abuses and Reconciliation. He is not a stakeholder in Government, because he is not a political officer or appointee,.but he wields influence being a high ranking leader in the Catholic Church, persecution of people from religious faith does not translate or does not mean Genocide.The word "Genocide" carries weight and cannot be used carelessly, some sane and wise religious leaders understand this and they are acting responsibly.:Most people dont really know what a Genocide is, go and ask the People of Rwanda they will tell you what it is . We are not a banana republic that is the level Nigeria has reached in the commitee of Nations. Before US invaded Iraq, they had to present their case before UNSC for permission before invasion.You may say Russian invaded Ukraine without UN. Both cases are different.:Russia views Ukraine as its appendage and is linked historically with Russia. A large population of Ukraine speak Russian. But that is not the case with Nigeria. We have nothing to do with the US. Even US Congressmen called Trump's statement reckless. Mbanda:The circumstances during Chibok kidnap is totally different, from this current kidnap situation, during that time, there was a total collapse of intelligence. In this case, there was solid intelligence, the school was going to be attacked, and enough firepower was sent in, the heavily armed security men left 3 hrs before the incident, so looking at this, the issue boils down to the issue of saboteurs within the security system. Who are those security men who left their duties? Who were giving them orders? Everything is not the fault of the President, what is left for the President to do is to give marching orders for search and rescue. And in this scenario, heads have to roll for the fact actionable intelligence was given no noise about this issue. It was pure sabotage. and can't be compared with the Jonathan era Chibok kidnap. Sonnobax15:That's an unpatriotic mindset, you join and enlist in the army because of the love of the fatherland, but in Nigeria, people join the army because of unemployment, inferiority complex in order to oppress others, and other wrong motives, in other countries this is the time citizens rush to enlist in the army. We are quite lucky this country has a large population, if we were small, enlistment in the military will be compulsory and nobody will have a choice because it will be an issue of national survival. Even in the Iraqi invasion, american troops died in huge numbers , the issue is even with technology you cant understand a terrain more than the locals. A lot of american casualties came from landmines and boobytraps.especially during the initial phases of the assault. You wont hear it on media too much.Because of it is classified, but American families knew the sacrifices they made and huge losses they had. |
