I know that in the US u can't do shit without papers cuz alot of stuff have changed. I dunno how things work in the UK, but why can't his sister file for him to come live there as a permanent resident? This dude gotta get his acts together before thinking of moving to the UK. I got this friend at my school here in the US who's got no papers and had to drop from school cuz the school was asking for his legal status, getting a job is tough for him cuz he aint got papers. Hey dude, u gotta know what u are going for before running away from ur comfort zone in naija, no be as u see on tv or hear people talk about abroad the thing be oooooo. One of ur UK posters here claimed that u got just lil' stores there. C'mon, I might not have been to the UK, but my dad and uncle are regular callers in ur country, and moreoever, I got relatives who live there. The truth needs to be said, just as the US is bigger than the UK in terms of physical size, so is the rate of development. Y'all just gotta know that this ain't no contest cuz there's nothing to contest here. How many people can afford to buy their own houses in the UK? What the British gov't practices is just a modernized form of communism or at the best, socialism. How can every aspect of the economy be controlled by the gov't? There are minimal, if any, avenues to think big in that British "socialist" gov't. The moment the gov't allows capitalism to reign, y'all are gonna experience the development that the US is enjoying today. Plz, don't compare the US to the UK.

Desiree, u dunno nothing about the American system of education. I never wanted to post a comment about this, but ur post drove me mad. I go to school solely on merit (and quite a bunch of people too). From what I know about the U.S, AS LONG AS U ARE WILLING TO GO SCHOOL, THE RESOURCES WILL BE MADE AVAILABLE TO U! U can quote me on that any day! U talking about scholarships offered to people is just so dumb. If the U.K doesn't offer any form of scholarships, then that's ur headache, blame the queen and Blair. There are people who don't earn nothing here and still go to colleges because the gov't PAYS for them to. I dare to say that u all that are claiming to prefer the U.K to the U.S is because u've got no choice. Come live in the U.S for six months and compare it to what u've got in the U.K, u wouldn't wanna go back. Plz, don't compare the schools, departmental stores (I learned all u've got in the U.K is Harrod's), roads, houses, etc we've got in the U.S to those in the U.K. No hating, but most of u don't know what u are talking about. Period!
