jnyuwa02: Be cool, all the interviews I have had or seen other people have with potential supervisors, have always been informal like you are talking to a friend. Nothing to worry, just communicate to him in plain language, no preparations are needed. Just back and forth about what your interests are and what the professor's is. They are also usually a little familiar with admissions and can give you a few tips where and how your admission application is holding up. Thank you....Thank you..You guys are the best. |

AKFTK: Be calm and collected.
I had an interview with a POI last Month, it was casual and interesting. The professor told me about his research area and what he'd like me to work on. He told me what interests him about my application and what his expectations. Nothing too technical. I believe most times, they just want to familiarise themselves with you.
If you have specific questions about Tue research area or topic, ask.
You can also ask about his/her lab, the working culture and if there's going to be funding.
I wish you the best... Thank you so much |

henrymor: Hi fam, Thank you all for helping people like me get answers to what seems difficult. God bless.
Pls I need help again, I have contacted many schools and supervisors for a potential supervision but all has been to nothing. The answer I got from most of them is that they are not ready to take any more student.
So I later had to contact the coordinator of the graduate program I am going for, that I have contacted many supervisors o but no position for me and the message I received from two of the Universities (University of Ottawa, UNB and Windsor) is to apply and they will circulate my application around the department to look for a potential supervisor.
But I am afraid, should I apply to this schools or what should I do? I am thinking what if there is nobody ready to supervise me? Won't that be a waste of money?
Also, please I need a sample of a detailed CV and statement of purpose. I am in the dark and don't even know what it look like.
Thank you! Keep trying...go ahead and apply since they've asked you to. This stage is usually frustrating...I know just have faith and keep on trying...hopefully you would secure a supervisor before you get accepted Cheers!!! |

ECUBE30: Make una answer dis person well naa. Dara, u really had a good CGPA. But d thing is, u have to go to the school to find out really what happened. I heard OAU Health Sciences admits only 20 students for Medicine via direct entry (that includes those coming in thru Jupeb, others that may have finished from anoda university[like u] and also some other programmes). They admits the best 20 out of all these set of people. It is done in a particular way sha. Eg 5 from jupeb, 5 from graduates from other universities etc. So, probably dere were 5 people or more who had more than ur CGPA(although u were all in first class) that also applied for medicine in OAU. So I really think u should go to the school and ask more questions at the College of Health Sciences Specifically. They will listen to u and answer u well. Thank you |

Drdonzeez: I don't think your class counts as regards DE..I think more attention is paid to o level results I stand to be corrected anyways. However,Everyone who meets the minimum requirements stand equal chance. It does count..... A minimum of 2.1 is required according to what was published |
