Hello guys,

So I had written in Part 13, about how I got my study visa to Canada but I could not show up because I am currently studying in the U.S.A.

Truth be told, I decided to stamp the Canadian visa on my passport in the USA. The simple fact is that the U.S.A is a good country, but even before Trump came along, it was not so easy (it's still not so hard either). However, one does not know tomorrow and it's always good to keep all your options open.

I don't know if I will have to leave the US soon but at least, I know that I have a solid back-up plan should everything go south.

Do take care of yourself, have faith and perspective filled with long term gratitude and thanksgiving.

In the long run, we will all be fine.

I wish all of us God's blessings.

Dare

Austinpee4:

Firstly, congratulations!

I think you should follow the leading of your mind and do what you truly want and that which would give you peace of mind. If you can afford the fees in Canada, it's not a bad option. If you the USA education is giving you a lead start to you desirables academically, still not a bad option. Everything comes down to what it is for you and your goals. You should adequately identify them and proceed as you deem satisfactory.

@Austinpee4
I will keep all options open and allow God to set the path. There is still an option for PhD in Canada and express entry is also another possibility. I could also go to Canada but I may need time to end some things in the USA before I can relocate.

In all, it's God that directs us.

To all the guys on this thread, I thank you for your support and contributions to your fellow people. Keep up the good work.

So, this life can be very funny.

I wanted to school in Canada but due to circumstances beyond control, I can't go to Canada soon despite having my TRV approved.
Why is this so? I had two admissions: One in the USA and one in the university of Ottawa.
The school in the USA gave me a lot of funding and UOttawa didn't give me any funding. Still, I wanted to go to Canada.

I applied for the Canadian study permit visa in May and used the USA school as my back up.
Three months later (August, 2017), as I was not getting any younger, I had to get my USA visa because I could not model my progress on the uncertainty of the Canadian visa officers. Still I wanted to go to Canada.

I flew into the USA in September, 2017 and started my masters in the USA and I was blessed and excelled, I got more research, connections and exposure scholarships in the USA. Until October, 2017, I still wanted to go to Canada.

But as the visa application was not yet forthcoming, I had to send an email to the University of Ottawa to terminate my admission offer as I was not allowed to defer. This was in October, 2017.

Of course, I had settled down in the USA after all the blessings, hoping to complete my masters and apply for permanent residency in Canada.
I didn't tell CIC anything as I had paid non refundable application fees and I deserved to at least know the final status of my application

And that's how my TRV was approved on November 30, 2017. After I have already settled down in the USA. I don't even know where to start.

@StarFlux and @Inxyz need your advice on choice of schools. Due to competition, I am trying to know my chances of getting admitted into the master's degree program in technology and safety in the high north at the university of tromso. I graduated with a 3.60 in electrical engineering.

Thank you and keep it up

StarFlux: Hey guys

@Dare Akande
Yes, it could've been because of your GPA (Amblessede was on point,) but in this case it's because RAMS requires you to have completed a bachelor degree in Norway. Sorry to hear such news.

Ok so if I can't get into UIS or NTNU due to my relatively low GPA or due to the fact that I don't have a bachelor degree in Norway, Can I at least know what other schools in Norway that have a better acceptance rate and still have employable graduates.

Thanks for your reply @Starflux

Yup mine was NTNU. But I thought that they didn't need any documentation in the preliminary round even though I sent them a PDF of my results which was uploaded on my school's website. I really wished that I can certainly know the reason why I was rejected whether it was insufficient amount of documents uploaded or my grades didn't make the cut. Would love to have a chat with someone who's got admitted. Thanks though for your reply @ amblessede

@Starflux, I'm sure you've posted many times on naira land what documents we are required to have if we want to apply for Masters in Norway. I just got my application for MSc RAMS rejected though I believe I was slightly unprepared as my school hadn't processed my results quickly enough and GRE and TOEFL were suspended in Nigeria. I do have an international passport and graduated with a second class upper in electronic and electrical engineering from Obafemi Awolowo University (3.6 on a 5.0 scale). Will appreciate it if you could find time to chat so that I will be better prepared next year when I'm done with my NYSC. Anyone else with USEFUL INFORMATION can email me. Would love to hear from you all soon. Thank you
