You are on point guy. I would have be among the one's that receive this amnesty pay now only if am greedy. Am from west and due to my relationship with my neighbour, a good friend of mine and one of sen. Lopobri boys, he include , y name in the list then wish happen to be the first batch, given ijaw name but thhey need my passport and I went to lagos then. So when I came back and i reject the offer because am not entitled to it since am not from the region. He gave me the assurance that there won't be any regrets. But base on the kind of the person I am, I don't like to teap where I don't sow. The set of people's travel to dubai and came back 2011. My point is most of this beneficiary never held gun before and the money that their leaders are generating, their communities never benefited from it except intimidation from them. This amnesty programme is another scam like it's partner - subsidy. It was designed to help those who decided to carry guns against the nigerian state. What about those of us that decided to equip ourselves with books? Why are we left out? Why are graduates of niger delta strugglinq to earn a livinq? These are questions that quickly comes to mind of any sane individual. Before I continue, let me quickly say I am from niger delta & I can say that this amnesty programme is selective and the beneficiaries are in nigeria squandering the money instead of beinq in dubai, s.africa etc learning their whatever God knows. I said it's selective, yea it is. You know why? How can you explain the fact that only persons from ijaw extraction are being paid when we know they aren't only the militants? That office of the amnesty needs to be probed, if you ask me. Buhari must man-up & step-up his game to deal with this else, it will be the mole in his govt. You know what? That is not all…… how do the govt even know those that are even "militants" ? What measures do the govt have in place to checkmate the beneficiaries? A thorough analysis of the programme will reveal that many of the beneficiaries never held a gun at any time…… they are being paid because they were shortlisted by their friends, family or anybody (it's not hard to be shortlisted once u are an ijaw or related by blood). It is even more interesting to know that those who really carried the guns never accepted this lie - amnesty (though not all). The amnesty is a two-edged sword that cannot be stopped without a fight and it must be stopped now!

Am not seeing the property that this writter is valuing at 2.1 billion naira.

this is the same statement I have been hearing since 2004 when I came to niger delta (for our land, our oil money) and only the politicians in the region and few that are rugged are making it big without developing their communities. I went to ologbobri in bayelsa, the village Africa one of the top ex militants sometime ago, am shocked to the life they live over there and that's how it's in all the creeks. They rely on cooking bunkry and the whole grass within has turn to black due to the carbon emanating from the cook crude oil. The so call freedom fighter's are making serious money from the government but within their village, you can't benefit from it except you belong to their click. All they do is to import babe's almost everyday and pay them 100k above.
The same goes to their politicians, they have nothing to give to their people's exept like 5% of them. When you go to most of the LGA, most of their chairman cant point out any single project they commission. Almost all the ex militants are fighting for their pocket and not for their people's.

I know some people will quote me and say he pays compensation to victims during constructions, but yet, Most Lagos contract are just too over inflated that even a blind man can see through it.

If you doubt me, pls take time out to search for d contracts awarded for building new blocks of classroom, it this case, compensations are mostly not paid, then you know what am talking abt.

in all government contract, there's always inflation because it's avenue for the contractor to make enough profits and almost almost everyone that's aware of the contract will take there share. the secretary, accountants, and even PA will tell you that they will collect so percentage and even the mada self will collect her share . They'll even give you what the figures will look like .tthe inflation is from federal down to even private body. The good thing is that he execute theprojects. Unlike someone that approved 2 billion naira sand project when he was governor around 2006, that the state indigen don't have to buy sand to build their houses, just go to the sand dump and collect what you need to build your house. He signed the money bu not even a single sand was pump for the indigen to use.
