I never knew u guys colonized the rest of nigeria and even gave us clothes to cover unclad bodies
I c no reason 4 us to b grateful 2 any1 but God coz even before crude oil we were d largest producers of kernel in the entire world u can ask malaysia.

Ikengawo:
But I as an igbo man understand it's stupid to say i'm from 'southeast'. Can i speak southeast? The group is called Ohaneze Ndigbo, not Ohaneze Southeast.

Northerners also say 'Im from the North' but biko they're stupid people. A Fulani man, because they're the ones up there with marginally more sense will say they're Fulani unless they have an agenda that makes saying they're Northern more advantageous. Middle belters will say they're from 'middle belt', many will even hide the specific group and a lot of their kids don't know.

When i was in the US a lot of 'south south' and 'delta' kids didn't know their specific tribe unless they had gone to Nigeria to came from there. The ones born here just knew they were 'Nigerian' and 'From Niger Delta'. So northerners, middle belters and SS people have them mentality because I'm only speaking to SS people because I believe they're more reasonable. The rest are retarded and say what they say because of it.

A lot of Bini people say they're 'Edo' which is true to an extent, but it's also the reason their kids are very unlikely to know their language. I believe your culture starts a rapid death once you start calling yourself something that can't be linguistically defined. If i raise my child to believe he's 'Delta' and not 'Urobo' he'll think something as foolish as pidgin is his native tongue. SS people are at a particular disadvantage because they don't have the numbers to be lackadaisical about their language. If i want to learn Igbo or Yoruba I can do so without stepping foot in Igbo or Yoruba land because they're numerous, wide spread, and their identities are strong. If you tell an Ogoni kid in Lagos his 'Rivers' for his whole life, where will he learn his language? How?
so what are trying to say that a region with literacy rate of over 90percent housing numerous academic institution of note including the only petroluem uni in africa nd second in the world cannot distinguish btw their ethnicity nd geographical boundaries
you said we don't know our ethnicity dat our parents neva told us especially those does in the us. u should hav added dat they never christened us also since dey hav no idea where dey are from.#u don see ikengawo dullars abi#
Am an isoko guy frm SOUTH SOUTH so go hang urself. Mind u d isokos would be vast majority in countries lyk equatorial guinea, cape verd, luxemborg etc and u guys would be minority in china nd india. so jux give d minority tribes some respect ok
I wanda y dey fink yorubas are their problem sef abeg hit lyk if u think this yabaleft escapee should either be given as exchange 4 d kano 9 or better still as a ransom for our beloved chibok girls

I still don't see any difference between Isoko and Urhobo. Saying that both groups are different tribes is the sane as saying that Arochukwu, Ngwa, Otuocha, Awka, Oji variety of Igbos are different.

deegwoo, megwoo is just a little change. I wish I am from one of these two tribes really really understand the differences.

Let's look at the same sentences in Igbo dialects.

Queens English: I am going to school.
Standard Igbo: M na-aga ülö akwükwö.
Onitsha Igbo: M na-aga ünö akwükwö.
My village: M le-eje ülö ekwükwö.

All these mean the same thing but look different.

It's the white that used sobo to categorize you not me...I am sorry about that .

Urhobo isoko aladja are all the same language with dialect variation so is ijebu oyo ife okun and awori Yoruba dialect so is ika ukwuani onitsha oru ikwerre wawa are igbo dialects

Provided that both speakers understand themselves

Why is it the urhobo and isoko are ashamed to speak their language when they meet a new urhobo itsterkiri in Lagos I noticed it when my urhobo friend said that ...why
Oga Ade dem no b d same shaybi I tell u say our urhobo neighbour no understand jack of isoko .an urhobo girl evestar(don't if I got DAT)on this forum already confirmed she is based in ozoro an isoko town buh does not understand isoko language.
Whether anybody lyks it or not it is recognised as a seperate language by the constitution of both delta state and nigeria
Bye bye

If we use LGA as you stated. The Anioma have 9 and the Urhobo 8.
Guy u just wrote lyk a f.ool is by number of local govt or by number of people in it.check the website of delta state govt or beta still jux google delta population stats no anioma lga is on top 6(ughelli north, warri south, isoko south, ughelli north, uvwie, ethiope east)not even the wan containing dat village dat will always be under the shadow of onitcha.
Delta central(urhobo excluding their majority population in warri) are 1.8 million, delta north(igbos including isokos in ndokwa east) are 1.3 million

Read my comment and u ll get what i meant....urho and isoko re 80% similar and dont need an intertreper......ishan and benin need to some xtent....am ishan and i schooled in uniben....i only understand little benin and urobo when my frends speak..tho,benin is a bit closer to ishan.but urobo has more direct ishan element in it.
Plz u are neither urhobo nor isoko so 4 ur lyf nor ever talk watin u no knows abt
Thank u brodar ode

tonychristopher:
but are you tryng to tell me that urhobo wont understand isoko if they speak or wont ishan understand benin if they speak.

i want to know

will an urhob or isok man need an interpreter when they meet

same with benin or ishan

i know that in igbo even if you are cross rver, akwa ibom, edo igbo or anambra igbo, you wont need an interpreter to communicate with each other, there might be a bit difficulties but you will understand

so pls brother explain this for me, i want tyo know why the fragmentation of clans there in name of tribe

TO ME ISOKO AND URHOBO SHOULD JUST BE SOBO TRIBE. I DONT SEE MUCH DIFFERENCE

WHAT DO YOU THINK
No we the isokos are not urhobo though both languages are linguistically related they aint the same.for starters urhobo is made up of 3 languages uvwie, okpe and urho and isoko is made up of two isoko and erowha, erowha is not intelligble with other language and so other isoko do not understand them except u switch to centrall isoko .now back to the topic we have this urhobo woman opposite us from aladjga buh she doesn't undetstant a word of what we say except jocular remarks .my dad is very vast in isoko(extremely) buh only understands elementary urhobo.although my understands urhobo only because she learns languages easily (xcellent yoruba, few igbo, ijaw and hausa)only near-bye urhobo town ughelli is understood to a large extent by isokos cos their brand of urhobo is kinda lite and they understand to some xtent emevor(proximity) and enwhe(similar with urhobo language) clans of isoko buh not the other 17clans .isoko and urhobos while comminicating with each other don't use their language except u stay in a town of either of both groups and learn the language which is easier if either of them already know how to speak theirs coz it is linguistially similar .although we have similar names which means the same thing. Just lyk the chinese,Korean, singaporean languages sound and are even written similar buh for crying out loud they ain't the same is isoko and urhobo.
And please DON'T EVER CALL US SOBOS AGAIN.mind u we also have a derogatory name 4 guys also.

The command centre in Maiduguri and the NA ground forces are taking care of the northern blood sucking terrorists.

The Air Force and naval forces still have capacity to decimate the southern blood sucking terrorists as well.

No breathing space for bombers of innocent Nigerians.
Plz there are no terrorists in southern nigeria we only have blood sucking demons in the north
