But Osinbajo accepts them. Buhari wil reject them because he doesn't understand them-he wil be waiting for somebody to convince him. With Buhari's thinking, Nigeria will go nowhere because, I don't know how he could get a professional conviction on matters outside his knowledge. Its simply rediculous for Buhari who lacks even the basic knowledge of economics to demand a convinncing explanation from economic experts before proceding on implementation of stractegic economic policies. He's only being

i didnt voted buhari because of economics..

i voted buhari because of boko haram...

Dont fall for their tricks. You are thinking exactly how the children of hate want you to think. Tell them you dont mind if Osinbajo becomes president because what they desire is to use these useless comparisms to devide the presodency's supporters. Tell them there is no difference and we love both gentlemen equally.

Let them go continue to compare the governors in their barren landlocked villages and agitate for their useless country while our amiable vice president/acting president steer the affairs of NIGERIA.

exactly...

the most evil thing nigerians can do now is to set osibanjo against buhari..

the naira was already afloat before buhari went to london...

how can this be because of the vp?...

But still we need air supremacy but only within Nigeria territory. Jets are use for many other things, interception is one od the current requirment for the air force ... Because seriously an Air force need jets that can fight... Huge number of commercial planes fly accross within Nigeria. To defend Nigeria against terrorist act on/or using commercial planes we dont need something that will kill the defence budget JF-17 can do that job & i dont see the need for f-16 for that. Meanwill we are going to need something for foreign affairs, to do some "diplomacy" if required or protect our citizens, companies, ( Interest ) for that I see a ground attack jet (Su34 like that) since in Africa their are no air power, + some cargo C-130H can still do that job. but where we must focus now is on the Navy for sure we loose many billions due to piracy, so many weapons enter the country from there so if we dont want some Biafra II, or some Boko II, we must be ready over there.
The only way we are going to go for real air supremacy will be if we remain on the side of sahara oriental ... And not maroc ( between the two we see a partner for agriculture they are rich in phosphat and must choose the good one to back our love for jollof can triger a war lol) at that moment we will have some problem because they are very well equip. I dont know the current position of Nigeria but GEJ & PMB all bavk sahara oriental cause.
For me the next senario is if we want to continue what we started with Jammeh, at that moment we will hav many targets so we will need something to really scare dictators ( and I will be in support of it since those guys dont let our companies oparate and give everything to us, france etc... To mainten ther power). and in some country they are back by france like cameroun or gabon...
All depends on our foreign policy, the only way to stay like this without air superiority is to be pacifist & accept everuthing western or easter countries will tell us, being pacifist means no Giant of Africa... But since we cant chill, history shows that, I think we should wait for 5 or 10 years before seing air superiority in our inventory.
Whats for sure right now, we are going to have an interceptor, a baddes ground attack jet.

okay..atleast we are capable to defend ourselves..thats all what i care about...

if una like make una mechanize horses to fly..i dont care...so long the air supremacy stays...

me,am not putting my black life at the mercy of strangers....

but its better to dont scrape the jaguars...

just try to maintain down on low cost..

you can never know when those socalled superpowers attack us in the future because we pissed them off they way they did with ghadaffi...

we will not have time to purchase whatever...

atleast we would have enough jets protecting our airspace..

loosing air supremacy today is a desaster for ground forces...

I'm not as well informed on the Jaguar as some of the other aircraft enthusiasts on this forum, but I'd like to point out that the only reason Iran could keep its Western aircraft airworthy was because it purchases the (predominantly US made) parts for them on the black market at exorbitant prices. Some countries that are retiring old US aircraft probably allow their remaining inventories of spares to be sold to Iran through back channels.

I once read an interesting book about the Iran-Iraq War in which it mentioned the Iranian military has always had to spent several times the normal market price on spare parts for everything due to sanctions.

You can only cannibalise so many parts before you run out, indigenous manufacturing is impossible without the blueprints or the right tooling equipment, and black market parts are also quite expensive. Iran only did the latter because it had no choice. With the amount of money it spent on keeping those old aircraft operational, it could have purchased more brand new aircraft that were far superior.

hmmmm... undecided...

Im with @Henry240 on this one.....Those Jaguars are nothing more than scrape metal, it would literally cost more to get them operational than it would to buy a brand new F7!

What Nigeria need now are dedicated COIN aircraft like the Tucano......although i would much prefer NAF striking a deal with Paramount for the Mwari!!

okay..i dont understand this things anyways...

is it true that you need 25000dallars to operate them for only 1hour....

thats crazy...

Henry240:

All these long stories for a 3rd Generation jet with no radar.

Nigeria is not begging to buy Tucanos, we need aeroplanes like the Tucano to prosecute our insurgency in a cost effective manner.

There are no holes and dreams in a 3rd generation fighter in 2017, that jet has been retired by virtually every other user apart from India. That's why we are going for the JF-17 thunder.

There is no corruption in the Jaguar, they are lazy stripped down jets sold to Nigeria by the British, who there after slapped sanctions on Nigeria.

You should be well aware of your historical facts before passing off comments here with authority.

are you trying to tell us the jaguars can not be armed and put into use??..

whats your point..??..

to hell with tuscanies....

i didnt even knew that we had so many jets rusting away...
