We all know it would end one day, say 2019. Soon can be two weeks, one year or even 10 years so he hasn't said anything IMO.

I had a power bank with the same problem as yours. What I did was to build an external circuit that could deliver a voltage of 4.2V and 1A, then I used it to charge the battery directly. It's still working after one year.
