Pls I need security info abt minna, like how safe, which area to get an apartment as a christain, where not to frequent and how to relate wit the people (do's n don't), cos av bn promoted in my office and transfered to minna branch from abuja. Pls help me NLanders
Minna is peaceful, except for few post election violence in 2011 and PMS subsidy removal protest (Government and friends of the ruling government properties were the prime target). As regard where you will stay, that should greatly depend on its proximity from your new office. However, I advice you stay in Bosso ( London street); i used to stay at the place.

For the does and don't, just posses the basic human decency. Minna is not really different from Abuja in terms of their life style.
Lastly, congratulation on your promotion. just send 9.99% of ur salary increment to me after taking 10% to the house of God. grin
PoliticsRe: Electricity Generation: Nigeria 4th In Africa, 70th In The World. by dasoul(m): 10:58pm On Jan 03, 2015
GenBuhari:
Who gave these people their data it has been generally accepted that we generate 2,000-3,000MW but their data has us as producing 20,000MW

If assuming all other data for other countries are accurate then it is a shame that countries such as DRC still embrioled in war and instability and with a fraction of our population still manages to produce twice what we do.

SMH!!! Although i tend to be pro Buhari but if GenBuhari doesn't know the difference between electrical power and Energy, i may reconsider my support. so if you are invited to debate Uncle GEJ, this is how you will embarrass yourself before the camera and me before my friends? The figure that was quoted in the table is the total power generated in a year expressed as energy for one year.

for instance, if we accept that naija generates 3000MW of power, it means that in a year, naija generates 3000*365*24=26280000MWh=26.3billionkWh of energy per annum which is not very wrong from what was quoted.
PoliticsRe: Electricity Generation: Nigeria 4th In Africa, 70th In The World. by dasoul(m): 10:10pm On Jan 03, 2015
hopilo:
Current rating for top 100 electricity producers in the world shows Nigeria 4th in Africa, 70th in the world. more work needed to reach top 5 in the world and from the history of the nation in that ranking it took them over 30 years of consistent and articulated plan to reach that peak.

http://www.indexmundi.com/g/r.aspx?t=100&v=79&l=en
From what I gathered from that list, Nigeria rank 5th in Africa trailing South Africa, Egypt, Algeria and Lybia.

B4 u say 5th in Africa is not that bad, note that Nigeria's population is a little less than the population of those 4 countries put together.
RomanceRe: 5 Thing Ladies Do That Makes Them Look Cheap To Guys by dasoul(m):
There is no rule to consider someone as been cheap..., a lady may not engage in any of the above mentioned habits but her guy might still consider her as been cheap. My advice is this: there is always a guy out there that will cherish you for who you are only if you are willing to let go and look the other way. ONE MAN'S TRASH IS ANOTHER MAN'S TREASURE!
RomanceRe: Top 10 Things That Women Loves About Men But Will Never Say It by dasoul(m): 12:25pm On Jan 03, 2015
Five things that women love about men but wouldn't say are:
(before I point it out, it should be noted that there is no romance without money)
1. Money
2. More Money
3. Too much money
4. Too much more money
4. Stingingly too much more money

PoliticsRe: Buhari’s Running Mate, Prof. Osinbajo Campaigns To Plantain Sellers (pictures) by dasoul(m):
I like Prof's campaign strategy. To me, politics that work isn't about
politics, in the sense of meetings, resolutions, speeches, sharing bags of rice or money, rallies
or even parties. It starts with people.
It's about friendship, art, culture, sport. It's about
being a fully paid up member of the human race
before being a fully paid up member of a democratic government.

To those who may not like this new style of campaign because they are used to old discredited method that has not paid us much....I beg u soberly think through it again.

Ride on prof....the people to which u are reaching may ultimately determine the outcome of the 2015 election.

May God bless u and keep you with all your good intentions.

same here. Mine is am way down in port-Harcourt. not sure if I'd make it. chances are very low.

but let me ask. does anyone have any idea what Meadow pay their graduate trainees for a start.? Am just curious.
I think you should see this:

TheFury:
Well, the training IS the job, what I mean is don't wuss out during the training else you get dropped. Last year they were about 30+ twenty seven got picked. They will test you on many things during the training.....from literature to science with modern systems of teaching.

They will pay during the training. Last year they paid 30grand to the trainees. The training lasted 3months. From Feb to April this year I think.

The salary is a 120grand above. So its a nice place if you eventually scale thru the training. Its not rocket science though if you are brilliant and smart enough you will pass. That's it......once you get with the training program working there comes easy. But not all of you will be given teaching roles. They will assess you all during the training and a few lucky ones will get admin positions.
If you ve penchant for teaching, I think you should consider it because the school is one of its kind from this part of the hemisphere.

Jobs/VacanciesRe: Meadow Hall Online Assessment Quiz by dasoul(m): 1:53pm On Nov 15, 2014
Hmmm....I don't know who set this test for Meadow Hall but the demo test I did yesterday had two errors, viz: 1. Nigeria anthem has three stanza
2. Myles Munroe died at age 30yrs. I was marked down for taking the right answers.

For today's test...imagine them still using USSR that's been long forgotten instead of Russia as one of the members of the UN security council's permanent seat.
