PoliticsRe: Will Regional Parties Change Nigeria? by DatNiggaAk(op): 12:19pm On Feb 10, 2010
Virgo83:
We needed more than Regional Parties to Change this Country, what we need is a Revolution against the Bad Peoples' Democration of Power.

who will spearhead the revolution?
charity begins at home they say,
with regional parties, the bad eggs will be identified and sidelined
without any other tribe crying out about marginalization.
we can then struggle to define whether we practice true federalism or we go back to regional politics

Recardo:
I think the Poster has a point. theres a bit of truth in what you saying. But what i want for Nigeria is a Parliamentary Government.

how would a parliamentary government help us?
PoliticsRe: Will Regional Parties Change Nigeria? by DatNiggaAk(op): 2:34pm On Feb 09, 2010
Pk001:
Then PDP controls the whole regions put together

if you vote on regional lines, how will PDP control the whole regions?
with APGA's win in the just concluded Anambra elections, despite the presence of the almighty Soludo(PDP)
and the anti godfather Ngige(AC)
All APGA needs to do now is consolidate in the Southeast.
AC is already putting in work in the south west.
PoliticsWill Regional Parties Change Nigeria? by DatNiggaAk(op): 1:26pm On Feb 09, 2010
I have the feeling that if APGA/PPA controls he South East,
AC or AD (if it still exist) controls the South West,
ANPP holds sway in the North East,
the middle belt has it's own party and the North has it's own paRTY
Nigeria's democracy would grow and the economy will benefit.
one single party will not be dominant because the lower and upper houses will be composed of various parties and not a single majority.
electing a president will result in power sharing among the various parties and if any party pulls out of the power sharing agreement, that government will fall apart and new elections will have to be held.
that means, all the regions will be well taken care off.
each party will want to outdo the other in order to prove that their party is better.
this will lead to development and improvement in the standard of living of those in that region.
remember Awolowo back in the days and what he did in the western region?
he pushed that region forward educationally.
PoliticsRe: Obi: Apga Targets Take-over Of S-east States by DatNiggaAk(m): 1:01pm On Feb 09, 2010
I THINK WE ACTUALLY NEED regional parties in Nigeria for our democracy to grow.
electing a president will now depend on the various regions resorting to power sharing.
and reaching agreements like its done between the social democrats and other parties in Germany.
we will be done with an all powerful invincible party like PDP,

What we have in our hands is an illetrate minister with an illetrate policy. Come to think of it why has no Southerner being the minister since the inception of the FCT, is it wholly the exclusive right of Northerners, just wondering.  undecided

GOOD QUESTION.
in the spirit of true federalism, why haven't we had a southern minister of the FCT?
later they would be trying to claim plateau state where they are settlers
meanwhile the federal capital has never had a settler as its minister.

Court ruling won't affect Anambra polls, INEC says

The governorship election in Anambra State will hold on Saturday as scheduled despite a Federal High Court judgment in Lagos on Thursday, the Resident Electoral Commissioner in the state said on Friday.

The court, which ruled on a case brought before it by the Action Congress (AC) over a senatorial election in Osun State, said the Independent National Electoral Commission lacks the competence to conduct any election in the country, as the commission was not properly constituted.

The judge, Mohammed Liman, held that the elections body, as presently constituted, lacked the quorum required by the Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, to conduct elections.

According to the judge, provisions of Section 159 of the 1999 Constitution, require the quorum of INEC commissioners to be "five members and not four, as constituted at present".

At present, the elections body has four Federal Electoral Commissioners, out of the 13 that are supposed to be on the board. There have been no appointments into the vacant positions on the board and only the President, who has been absent from the country for over two months, is empowered by law to nominate members.

Since the ruling, there have been growing concerns that the Anambra election may not hold. But the electoral body's commissioner in the state, Josiah Uwazuruonye, said in Awka, the state's capital, that there was no going back on the conduct of the poll, claiming that the commission has not received any judgement restricting it from conducting the February 6 slated gubernatorial poll.

"We have yet to receive any court judgment," he said. "We do not even know the issues in the plea. We are set with the election and we do not envisage anything stopping the current process."

Please let's keep it up. The developed world keeps being what is because human beings there have always recognised the little progress made by its people. Let's try to follow in their footsteps. My Yoruba people used to say person wey wan born pikin must rejoice with person wey just born

I wont be surprised if u are gay. i have a friend i thought would shoot gays only to be caught in the act 2 years ago. you are not perfect just the same way gays might not be perfect. if they choose to share their dicks between themselves and consent to it, why is that your problem?
Even from your name, you cannot claim to be a custodian of virtue or morals. its an open secret that even the so called people in abuja, parading the national assembly complex as senators or house of rep members are closet gays.
Like someone said on this thread, we have other pressing things facing us in this country. if someone is gay and he/she is a good leader and can bring change and prosperity, i will vote for him. Simple!

YUSUFI & CITIZENY,
in the Holy Bible, it is written that "vengeance is mine says the Lord"
that verse tells us not to fight for God, and even if we are offended by anyone.
we should leave revenge to God. as humans we have our own saying that says
"revenge is a dish best served cold/hot"
whenever your people stop heeding calls for jihad, that is when we would have peace in the north.
God needs nobody to fight for him if he actually created us.
as a student of logic, its simple logic that the clay/putty cannot tell the potter what it wants to be molded into.
if you can convince your people to stop fighting for Allah or prophet mohammed,
then would we have peace not only in Northern Nigeria, but in the entire world.

edoyad:
@Trenchcoat, i swear i love you that's why i criticize you; Hebrews: 12: 8: But if ye be without chastisement, whereof all are partakers, then are ye basterds, and not sons.
So trenchcoat you can see that though i don't believe in the existence of a deity i do want a free and fair society and also tap from the good of everything. What that text simply says is that it is he who the father loves that he has time to punish. See how i fight for the rights of almajiris on NL, condemning that evil culture, do you think it is out of love or hate ? Even wilywily loves you that's why he calls you evil. How can you claim we hate the dirty, stinking, illiterate almajiris loitering on our streets ? We love them.

Trenchcoat,
beware of Edoyad, the guy might have gay love for you.
i discovered in another thread that he is a supporter of gay rights if he isn't in fact a gay
