You’re not missing anything. It’s the drivers that keep accepting these ridiculous fares that are enabling them. Funny stuff is, majority in these riders are stupidly entitled.

I rather drive empty than to pick someone with ridiculous fares. If you pick, you have encouraged the rider that cheaper fares are possible and the next time he or she orders, they will always go to the cheapest option.

I did a rider one strong thing. She requested on Indrive to Chevron Drive from Surulere for ₦6,000. I picked and told her to wait oo, that I’m coming, while I was just parked doing something else, with the intention of wasting her time. After so much call, I texted her to not to be angry, that I’m still on my way. She called and called. I didn’t pick and I texted her again, this time letting her know how terrible she was by setting that fare, I also told her anyone who picks her request will also delay it till she puts the right amount.

I cancelled the ride only for time to see her increase the fare by ₦2,000. I didn’t pick, just laughed. Someone else picked. I felt so good doing it, and I still do it til today.

PS: she responds by calling me a madman, and threatened to report me. I told her I reported her already. Make she go ahead.
I remember the days driver go reduce price than the price the rider inputted on Rida app so the rider can pick them.

So ridiculous

Bolt and Indrive are just testing drivers breaking point trying to find out how low they can go before we say "enough is enough".
How can fares d angryrop to pre-covid era and u guys are still rushing the trips.
I am seeing 3k Berger to GRA
4k GRA to Lagos Island and 5k to VI.
This is unbelievable. When I think it cannot be lower, d next week they reduce it further and drivers are still diving the trips.
What is happening? am I missing something??
We all must learn a lesson grin

Toyota yaris is Fuel economical than Toyota corrola and you will be glad you are using it.
Toyota corola is also good for the job but the risk of stealing and thief of Toyota corola is on a high side.
But when rider order for ride and see Toyota yaris, mostly they don't know the difference between the earliest version because it is not stated on the app the year of the car so, some rider will cancel because of how small It Is but Toyota corola will give you some client Toyota yaris can't give you. If looking for fuel economical car go for Toyota yaris but if you are looking for a luxury and economical car again go for corola but have it at the back of your mind that, thief is monitoring you and also those who wants to steal your brain box... just my little knowledge because I use yaris 08 that looks like corrola... good luck
What kind of client will corolla give you that Yaris can't?
You no even talk better car with space na corolla
Lmao

I have repeatedly said, those 4 trip-request you posted are use-less and not profitable to me.

The light blink again after topping the oil, even till i started hearing the sound the oil sign didnt blink on the dashboard.

My mistake was that i didnt check cos i rushed out and i assume i just top up. I didnt even take note.

I'm still surprise how it dried up so fast.

The noise can be describe ooo, if i try to accelerate it becomes louder
I really hope you've not damaged your engine
Hardex is a good oil
It it dries up, it means your engine is shorting oil or leaking oil.
Now you've started hearing sounds, it means the damage has eaten deep

That engine is cheap
Highest 300k plus your old engine counterbalance
Do not attempt to ring it

for me saving 2.5 million naira a year is very doable, when I been dey drive uber/bolt for lagos around 2021/2022 with one of my relative corolla then I was able to save more than 3million in less than 10 months, note I be average driver oo, I have friends on rental wey dey drive for bolt making 30k-40k net daily, 30k × 25days =750k, 750k- 180k monthly rental= 570k - 70k monthly car repairs & maintenance though you usually share the money 50/50 with the owner.. Miscellaneous-30k,
Average house rent selfcon-600k per annum
Feeding-60k monthly
Light bill-25k monthly
Upkeep-40k
Miscellaneous-50k monthly
Savings-250k × 12 months.. 3million.. grin grin
Feeding 60k 😂

Nice one champ, keep it going

I read here few days ago
Someone said he uses a ford 2.0 litre engine with 20k fuel to average 80k, so if you are using Corolla 1.8l to also make about 80,500, which is in similar range from what someone else have said earlier.
IMO I think it is very possible, there’s less to doubt about the fuel amount here.
The only issue I have with folks here is they will just drop the info leaving out details for clarity

I use 20k fuel to make 80k
Is the 80k gross or net?

I use 20k fuel to make 80k
Without surge or surge or offline?

All these goes a long way

Scenario

Person A...first owner
Person B...second owner
Person C...current owner

A sold to B and B later sold to C
C has all the documents from B and wants to do a change of ownership but found out that the system shows the details for A.

It happens that B made a mistake in the chassis number during registration hence the details on the system for the correct chassis number still bears A. Apparently the registration was not complete.

Now C was asked to bring the documents from A as that aligns with the system information.

What can C do if the documents from A cannot be gotten?

C has invested funds in car repairs and upgrades

Kindly advise Rhyah
@the bolded
It's not a mistake
It's deliberate especially if B registered the car as fresh instead of doing change of ownership

C should register the car as fresh and still tweak the chassis number.

Wow! What's your car model? A Corolla?
I am planning to start with a 2010 Toyota Camry, I really hope the fuel usage is efficient though it's mine, not driving for anyone. Is it advisable to buy a Suzuki 1.0 liter engine.

NB: This vehicle is my vehicle for work, just hoping to use it part time for e hailing. Do you advise i sell it off to buy a more efficient car?
You using your Camry to work will still be within the barbiturates fuel to gross range
Forget about people talking about lack of thermostat and bad car condition

Again, using that Camry to me is not a good idea being that it is too BIG for this peanut fares ehailing is offering, you'd consume more fuel thereby reducing your fuel to net ratio unlike someone who is using a 1.0 to 1.8l vehicle.

The Suzuki would have been the best tool cos of it's engine capacity but that car cost is very expensive, you can ask around

My advice would be if you intend to do this hustle for long time, you sell off your Camry and you'd still have enough change after looking for a very good small car maybe honda jazz, city, Kia Rio, Hyundai accent or buy better still buy the manual version of these not more than 3.5m so you can recoupe your capital faster

Or if you're ok with barbiturates fuel to gross margin then you can use your Camry

Just remember the indices that if a 1.0l engine user , pearl and barbiturate work and earn the same gross monthly, if pearl makes 1.6m monthly he will have a profit of 800k after all deductions, barbiturate will have just 600k monthly and the 1.0l engine user will have between 900 to 1m monthly

At times the way some of you support wrong things here baffles me. I'll not call names but then I'll not close my mouth about it either.

1st, a rider in Abuja complained about a high fare and making sure the driver's CNG was removed. I'm not in support of that driver at all. 30k is much.....I mean too much for that distance....and he's using CNG!

2ndly, drivers protested yesterday by staying at home and some people think they don't know what they're doing!
Do you like the ridiculous fares you see? Do you like the way these apps ignore drivers and treat drivers anyhow?
You want change but you don't want to fight for it!
Since today, any difference in fares after your protest?

Biodun1929:
The last day I went out was last week Wednesday, and below is the break down of the trips. I started the day with a visit to the filing station, and bought 25k fuel.

*First trip
From Idimu-Ejigbo road to Governors road (Igando road end of governors road, not ikotun end)
Duration - 18 mins
Distance - 7.7km
My income - N2,499

*Second trip
From Isheri-igando road to Ikorodu
Duration - 94 mins
Distance - 45km
My income - N9,640

*Third trip
From Ikorodu to Tejuosho market, Yaba
Duration - 72 mins
Distance - 29.8km
My income - N6,337

*Fourth and final trip (The trip was going directly to my area, and I wanted to close for the day...which is the reason I took this ride)
From Unilag/University road to Egbeda
Duration - 65 mins
Distance - 18.6km
My income - N6,069

Total money spent on fuel for the day - N25,000

Total income - 2,499 + 9,640 + 6,337 + 6,069 = 24,545

Real income for the day 24,545 - 25,000 = -455

This means, after working for hours last week Wednesday, I actually lost N455 naira. This is why I decided to stop and re-evaluate things.

So guys, what do you think? Is it my car, or the trips I took?

UPDATE
I guess I should add that I used A/C all through the trips. It was crazy sunny day.
So you did approximately 6k net per hour and you expect to make profit?
Ire o 😂

My advice is, take things easy.
Why do you want to impersonate on registration, don't be desperate.
The other fellow advising you on WhatsApp is right.
Bolt/Uber will suck the juice out of your corrolla 2010. The fares are horrible now especially Uber.

Ask yourself, if it's a Tokunbo car. We are looking at 10-12 million naira current valuation. A 10 million naira car is too much for the hustle.

It's not about what you earn but what you can keep. The app companies are still the winners because they don't buy cars nor do maintenance

You won't fully comprehend what I'm saying until you are like 6-8months using the car.
Them no dey tell person

Yes sure
Hyundai accent 06-08 engine is just 600k and that's the only expensive part

Other parts are very pocket friendly and relatively cheaper than the corolla

Besides, it's very rugged, fuel efficient and reliable

Good afternoon house, after 1 month of car search and several car inspections. I was able to see a Camry 2004 in very good condition almost like tokunbo standard.

So i want to ask anyone using same car here for uber/bolt can you please give an insight is it a good ride for this business, I’m just looking at the 2.4l engine compared to 1.8l Corolla.

I have only been searching for Corolla the past one month till I found this Camry in almost tokunbo standard condition for 5.7m
Investing 5.7m in this hustle, wrong move
Using 2.4l engine for this hustle, wrong move

You should be thinking of how to maximise your profit and recoupe your capital in the shortest possible time frame

What you should look for is a 1.0 -1.8l engine at most, the cheapest available car brand, capital wise and maintenance wise
