My issue is that these people are presenting partial truths, selective framing or over generalization
If fares stayed around ₦5,000 from vi to Surulere while fuel jumped from ~₦800 to ~₦1,200 per litre, then margins should logically shrink.
If someone claims their take-home increased, something else must be compensating—usually: working longer hours that’s not earning more efficiently, it’s working more intensively. |

dapotemi: Guys, people are making REAL LIFE DECISIONS just by reading your experience from this forum. Some will quit their job, relocate their families, sleep under ajah bridge because you have unknowingly sold to them an unsustainable version of the job! Stop adding sweeteners, addictive or ginger to your experience. It is not fair on others. Partners read this stories and they go back to press the neck of their drivers.. Don't be unfortunate! Pls note that not everyone has the same IQ or street smartness like you, some do not have the ability to think deeper, they just ACT, because you share not ur experience but tales by moonlight. Again, don't be unfortunate. Thank you. The bolded has always been my issue with these people Na that efulefu nelochukuchuku start this crap As in folks still make double the fuel they buy as profit yet dem dey shout say make men switch to CNG and are still dancing skelewu at Alausa Ire o |

Pearl1910: That's it o, But if they give u back part of it as Bonus it's fair enough. The problem is still that d fares are low. On no account should someone drive to Riders destination pick up on AC and drop Rider even if it's two houses away the minimum fare should be 3k. No matter how short. 10km ride shouldn't be less than 5k Net , 20km 10k 30km 30k and so on. I don't really bother about how much they take provided what I make is good. Consider that they also put back a large chunk of their earnings in marketing and bonus to Riders too. Many riders really will not be able to afford ehailing, if it is to be standardly priced. Example is when there is surge, there are fewer meaningful trips. I know with Bolt and Uber, Fares would have be going up considerably, but Indrive is spoiling the market. 10km ride shouldn't be less than 5k Net , 20km 10k 30km 30k Sadly no app can give you this rate currently |

Jamie90: Areas like Yaba, Shomolu, Ajao, Bariga etc are not dead zones. Short trips in this areas pay better on indrive.
No one can make 50k driving on any platform now. Let’s be realistic, your gross earning on a trip on bolt is a little less than what an average negotiator gets on indrive. Currently, uber consistently offers me less than what I will get on a trip if I did it on indrive. Indrive is only bad in areas where there are too many drivers.
Go to those areas I mentioned and analyse the prices you see carefully. And person wan make 6 million in 6 months. Isn't this wonderful |

Nelochukwu: The problem is u dont believe in the business. This is y u failed. My accounts painted real live scenerios in my life in different monikers but wait....how can one be doing a bizness dey look down on. Iz ridiculous cause ave known u to have this stance that the bizness is worthless cabu cabu etc how do u expect to succeed in it
Then u become bitter and start dividing a house that is meant to support and encourage drivers. How can u belittle a bizness where u spend so much to acquire asset that generates cashflow. But cause u r not exposed to know iz like any other bizness better than alot of jobs in this country. How do u expect to succeed
I'm sure u have no responsibilities bro if not u would be grateful for what u have. I'm just grateful and my gratitude rubs off on losers like urself cause I represent everything you could have been.
Sorry The actual problem is that you tend to think and process things upside down I'm not looking down on the hustle, my problem with you people is that you people tend to give a sugar coated look to this hustle instead of telling intending drivers how it actually is. I've said it before "I no send you for here boy" Remember, when I read misleading and sugar-coated tales by moonlight about this hustle, I will come out and tell the reality. Farewell |

rapheal5: Here is the earnings of January and February of my brother, though he works 3, 4 to 5 days a week due to car maintenance. He works 12 to 14hrs any day he choose to work. During the 2 months he bought fuel at 730 per litre and he bought 45k fuel each day. My first question is, as a driver who works 12 to 14 hours how much is he suppose to net after removing fuel money at the end of the day. For those who didn’t see my first post concerning my brother earning on bolt, he drives 2006 4plug big daddy. I wonder where this your bro get time from his busy schedule that after working 12 to 14 hrs daily, time wey he suppose rest and recoup energy, he come dey do account balancing with you and how he has no money left after car repairs Na that nelochukuchuku wey start this rubbish I blame Wonders shall never end sha |

LivelyBic: Good day comrades. Plz I'm new to this hustle. I've been reading some of your comments and from what I've read here I can deduce that the hustle isn't all that like b4. So but man must survive. I have a challenge right now and I'd need you guys to help give guardians. I have a Rav4 4plug 2007 which I have been using for private. So buh I want to use it for this buisness for just this year bcus I took a loan for a buisness but tinz dint go as planned which made paying hard. I work 9 to 5 and during weekends I'm free. So my plan is to work from 5 to 11pm during weekdays then weekend full time. With this fuel wahala is it possible for me to net 200k per month so I can use it together with my salary to offset the loan monthly. I don't want to convert to cng as it's just this year. I speak again as someone that has been in this shoe before For now, scrap the idea of weekday work except if you stay at places like yaba, shomolu, surulere, Ikeja, Berger where you'd easily see riders to this zones to work and at the close of work or else, you will wear yourself out and get tired easily If you stay in the outlands or dead zone, you maybe relegated to carry solé or drive empty cos you might not get trips out to work in time in the mornings or when you decide to close in the evening, you may meet traffic which will make the trip not worth it. Yes, you can make 200k monthly driving on weekends if you can target a gross of 65k for a start (30k) profit with say 30 to 35k fuel. Working Saturday X Sunday will be less stressful on you and your car I wish you luck |

Jegheter: You guys are this forum are very sad. If u didn't make it doesn't mean everyone is suffering.
I created another moniker wen I came back into the country and bought and chasis rav4 09. Now I didn't want to come off as bragging so I created another moniker.
Some of us are modest and dont need to disclose so much about ourselves until we exchange contact and deal then itz official but till then as long as facts are being shared with receipts then all is well.
I see this forum has a lot of failed drivers and drivers who see this hustle not as a job or business like anyother but as a menial thing just to get by. I drive by choice . As in by His grace I could have done anything else but chose to buy a car and drive. Now for u to know how established I am I bought a jeep to use on the platform. Ave been donig this since 2018.
If telling stories of my life in different monikers comes off as living a fake life then let me just tell u with one moniker. I have used driving to change and stabilize my life. I drive everyday not because I'm broke but cause of discipline I'm sure even u if u had some of my funds u would have stop driving longest time ago . So see y we are not on the same level.
A guy that doesn't believe he can make back 6mil in 6 months with cng is definitely not on my level or the man that told someone to buy a car and be receiving 10k everyday . Is that a business? I'm first a businessman before I'm a driver and driving is just a business.
Better embrace cng and revamp ur driving career else stop discouraging people with ur rubbish talk about how cng is not good.
If u or anyone esp pearl as I will love to meet him wants to meet me. Just hola.
Jegheter is Norwegian language. What is your name? M*gu say make I embrace CNG 😂 You think I'm speaking about CNG based off hear says or because my bro is using CNG? Lmao I agree me and you no dey the same level Abeg I no really send you for here boy 🤷 |

Jamie90: I use CNG and I am not a serious driver, but I can confidently say you don’t know what you are saying.
There’s no way I work 6 days a week consistently for 6 months and won’t make 6 million. In fact, if I extrapolate from my weekly earnings, I will make more.
It will take a little more than 6 months because of car issues that will cause downtime. If na straight fire down, e too sure. That's why you need to factor in these downtime when doing your calculations The car will need rest, you too will need rest, unplanned expense can pop up You no be Jacky You can't make 6m in 6months I say again! |

DEGREE2466: It depends on family responsibility and quality of the car.
If within the 6 months, there are less down times, 6 million is achievable at 500k saving a month.
It's very easy to net 30k daily after fuel and commission. 30x6=180k
180x4=720k. So saving 500k monthly is easy with less family responsibility. You can target 1 million to 1.5 million in the month of December.
So in conclusion, 6 million is achievable in 6 months. Check your maths again bro |

Jegheter: Why all these talk against cng. Haa. Omo if u will use it use it if not dont. Ain't we all business people. On a bizness sense I'll buy V6 DC and kit it with cng all for 6m. Bro if I drive 5months and I never recover money make I know wetin go cause am . Isn't that good ROI. U still have car and can use it for another 2 years.
People talking like as if once u install cng ur car depreciates . People have been using this thing for 2 years straight. Why all these anger.
If you don't want it pls leave it. 9 in 10 people that did it are blessing God everyday. The complaints are mostly from guys that did it initially not new installations but honestly any driver with sense will install it and cash out. Unless the driver can't afford it sha iz ok but pls let's allow this discussion to rest You cannot profit 6m in 6months from doing this cabu cabu work CNG or no CNG sir. Be guided |
