Davido is not a spokesperson for the initiative. I understand that donors are featured on social media in order to motivate others too to donate.

It is a CSR anchored by Union Bank and supported by the media organizations.

Available information shows that the bank had already made substantial donations to the cause.

Involvement of media organizations and celebrities is to create more awareness and generate more support for the IDPs.

Using someone as vain and wasteful as a spokesperson for a charity program is a total miss. It's almost like an insult to the common man. Anyways, I'm not a fan of NGOs like this sha, most of the collected funds are not spent for the intended purpose.

Its quite obvious ur just talking wtout doing d proper thing which is, verify and know what this entails.

This is not an NGO per say, but a medium to raise fund for the IDPs. You n I know they need help.

A lot of Nigerians are willing to help but may not b able to go thru d rigorous process of buying stuffs n delivering same. Such can b done thru #WeCare4IDPs.

If u had read thru my last comment, I stated that Davido only made donation. He is neither a spokesperson nor has any tie to WeCare4IDPs.

Pls do ur checks, n stop bn negative. This is 2017, As u celebrate u can extend it to the less privileged.

David must be a nincompoop for expecting us to donate N1k while he's flexing in an N80 million SUV he just bought. Why didn't he channel the money to the IDPs? I think this is all a scam though

This is not Davido's campaign. He supported the campaign by making donations.
You should check the website and also verify from the source. That's Union Bank official facebook page. Its not a scam pls.

let's assume it wasn't included in the contract letter, won't they be opening up to liabilities cos the pension makes it mandatory for all companies to make pension deductions

I know the law is an ass but I just wanna know

That depends on the terms of contact BTW both parties, for instance, most companies don't pay pension for corpers, even some outsourced staffs don't get it. Also most one man businesses don't. So it all depends.

Some companies don't indicate it on d offer letter but d employee usually go through d registration process n get monthly pension alert.

Most reputable companies will indicate it in ur offer letter in %tage so u ll know wat to expect as monthly deduction.

They should at least start the battle

There must be an evidence of an offer letter issued by the employer indicating terms n conditions, including salary n other benefits which is usually broken down.
If pension is not inclusive, he shud not bother. Even if pension is inclusive, does he still hv d offer letter cos d company can deny dey don't know him.

PENCOM is the agency to report to. You and your colleagues should rally and report to them. They do compliance audits to ensure that there are no under deductions and under remittances

You should contact them with details of ur employment letter stating ur pension. Otherwise if it is not stated there, u myt just b fighting a lost battle.

Since there's no waste bin in the bus, then it makes sense for people to turn the bus into a dust bin and be dumping their refuse in there? Does that seem right to you? Civilized people would hold onto their refuse until they exit and find a dust bin to throw them in. No one needs to teach you to do this. You don't need to wait for them to put a dust bin in the bus before you know you shouldn't be throwing your refuse or garbage in there.

Weda or not ur dealing wt civilized people, it is only appropriate to clean d bus at all tym.

The passengers themselves, at least those doing the littering, are very dirty. How do you go on a bus and throw your garbage in there as if it's a dumpsite?

You can't really blame the bus driver because even if he sweeps, the next passengers boarding the bus would still enter and behave like pigs.

The driver shud atlst have a waste bin in the bus na, or wud u prefer they throw refuse thru d window?

Politics / Nigerians To Pay 9% Tax On Calls, SMS, MMS, Data, Others by David0(m): 8:22pm On Aug 18, 2016
Speaking at a stakeholders’ meeting organised by the Lagos Chambers of Commerce and Industry, LCCI, on CST bill which seeks to levy nine per cent on subscribers for the use of the various communication services, Shittu said the outcome of deliberations on the bill would form the basis of his advice to the President.
The services include voice call, SMS, MMS, Data usage from telecommunication service providers, internet service providers and Pay TV Stations. He noted that introduction of new taxes without harmonising existing ones would put pressure on the country’s tax system thereby making it unattractive to investors.
According to the minister”This may also be counter-productive in the long run for our targets on broadband penetration. Our ICT Roadmap gives fresh impetus for implementing existing policies and reviewing any that is inimical to the growth of the sector.
My focus on any tax regime will be to align any process that will stimulate the economy and also ensure that the tax system is efficient by widening the tax net. It is also to create an effective framework for tax compliance to protect the poor and vulnerable in the society who nonetheless have to use telecoms services for social inclusion and financial services.
” He said that the government’s efforts at increasing its revenue made the bill worthy of consideration. “I have been reliably informed that the projected earnings from this effort is over N20 billion every month, which is an attraction to the government for funding our budget deficits. I must be quick to say that this government has a human face twined around its decisions,” Shittu said. The minister said that the government would provide an enabling environment for the ICT and telecommunication sector to thrive through the enactment of relevant legislation. Mrs Nike Akande, President of LCCI called for a friendly tax environment especially in view of the difficult business environment. “We know that the government is seeking to diversify its revenue base in the light of dwindling oil revenue. But it is also true that the private sector players will like to see an investment friendly tax environment, especially in the light of the prevailing high cost of doing business in the country. It is important to balance these two positions.
” Mr Bimbo Atilola, Chairman, LCCI Taxation and Commercial Law Committee said that the bill negated the principle of neutrality in taxation, as it would affect consumers’ behaviour through reduced spending. He appealed that the passage of the bill be suspended to allow for rapid growth of the telecoms sector, in line with the Nigerian National Broadband Plan. “If the bill must be passed into law, NASS should make the telecoms sector exempted under VAT Act and the rate reduced from nine per cent to five per cent. There is a need to protect the ultimate interest of the final consumers of the service,” Atilola said.

Mr Taiwo Oyedele, Partner, PriceWaterCoopers said that the N20 billion monthly projected revenue from the bill was unrealistic and based on assumption. According to him, increased taxation will reduce the consumption pattern of consumers, lower investment in the sector, thereby translating to reduced revenue. Mr Teniola Olusola, President, Association of Telecommunications Companies of Nigeria (ATCON) said that their members were overburdened with multiple taxation. He urged the government to discontinue the bill, adding that it would reduce inflow of FDI into the sector, reduce subscribers level of data consumption and affect contribution of the sector to GDP. Engr Gbenga Adebayo, President, Association of Licensed Telecommunication Operators of Nigeria (ALTON) said that the bill if passed into law would retard the growth of the sector.
