Ten environmental offenders have been sentenced to two months imprisonment each by a mobile Magistrate Court in Ado Ekiti.

They were involved in indiscriminate dumping of refuse, in various locations across the state.

According to the prosecutor, Mrs Ogunsan Bolaji, the offenders were caught in the act at Ajilosun and NTA road areas.

Delivering his judgment, Magistrate Timothy Abe said the culprits were found guilty of the offence under Section 7b and Section 12 of subsection 4 of Ekiti State Environmental Health and Sanitation Law of 2020.

The Magistrate sentenced them to two months imprisonment each with an option of fine of N5000.

One of the offenders, Alaba Kolade who could not afford the fine pleaded for leniency and was made to observe community service.

Other offenders apprehended by the Environmental Task Force of the Ministry included: Adetimi Kemi, Iyabo Ojo, Ajayi Victoria, Olaoye Omolara and Sunday Risikat.

Others are; Ilori Wuraola, Olayemi Aarinola, Suleiman Hamed and Tadeolu Rotimi.

Nigerian artist omah lay has confirmed that he was arrested by the ugandan police.

Omah Lay was picked up by the Ugandan police alongside the manager of the venue of the show Omah Lay performed at lastnight, Ivan Dungu and events manager Prim Kasana by Katwe Police.

According to reports, he was arrested after some Ugandan entertainers who dragged the Police for allowing international artists to hold concerts while the local ones are denied. Omah Lay has assured his fans that the necessary actions are being put in place

The Chinese authorities have temporarily suspended entry into China by Nigerians and other nationals in Nigeria holding valid Chinese visas or residence permits due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

According to a Punch report, the United Kingdom, Belgium, Luxembourg, Philippines and a few others were also affected by the policy.
It, however, said holders of diplomatic passports, courtesy or C visas would not be affected by the regulation.

The statement was titled, ‘Notice of temporary suspension of entry into China by non-Chinese nationals in Nigeria holding valid Chinese visas or residence permits.’

Minister of Foreign Affairs, Geoffrey Onyeama, has revealed that the landlord of the property where the Nigerian Embassy in Hungary is located, is threatening to evict them.

Qnyeama made this disclosure while defending the ministry’s 2021 budget at the House of Representatives in Abuja on Tuesday.

The Minister also claimed the ministry needs N1.6billion to move ambassadors and pay officers N3.7billion.

“Just on Monday, the ambassador in Hungary called to say they are going to throw them out from the chancery building. That the landlord is coming and that they do not have the money to pay,” NAN quoted him to have said

He made the submission on Sunday when he appeared on Channels Television’s Sunday Politics.

President Muhammadu Buhari has asked Nigerian youths participating in the ongoing #EndSARS protests to leave the streets for the negotiation table.

This was disclosed in a statement by his Senior Special Assistant on Media and Publicity, Garba Shehu on Sunday.
Buhari was represented by the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Muhammad Bello, at the maiden National Youth Day program which held at the Presidential Villa, Abuja.

The statement was titled “President Buhari to Nigeria youths: End street protests, dialogue with government on police reforms.”

The President expressed that the youths should realize protesting on the street cannot last forever.

Buhari said, “You must realize that protests cannot last indefinitely. My government will not lift a hand to stop or suppress you.
“However, the fact of the matter is that other forces and actors will seek to take over your protests that they may redirect them in ways you did not intend and perhaps do not agree with.

Former spokesperson of the Nigerian Army, Brigadier General Sani Usman(rtd) said in an interview that there is no written Code saying the military shouldn’t intervene because the other person is holding the national flag.

Recall, some Nigerians on Twitter urged protesters to hold the country’s flag during protest, claiming that the military can’t shoot someone holding the flag.

Usman who spoke on ARISE News on Wednesday, October 27th, said that there is no written code which confirms that, adding that the military is allowed to intervene, especially when there is a threat to life.

HE SAID;

“Whenever the military are going out, there’s clearly spelled out guidelines, rules of engagement, code of conduct, who does what, when and how. Therefore, you cannot be oblivious of the fact that somebody holding Nigerian flag and he’s going to kill someone and you’ll fold your arms.

“People were saying there is a written code, infact they attribute it to a particular colonel whose son said that the father told him that they should do that and they shared it on Twitter.

What I’m trying to make you understand is that there is no such thing that you should be oblivious of the fact that somebody is threatening someone’s life and you are so sure that if you do not intervene, the person will be killed, and simply because the other person is holding a national flag, or singing national anthem, just look at it.”

Wizkid has finally revealed the release date and tracklist for his anticipated album “Made In Lagos”

The album was originally meant to be released on the 15th of October,2020 but was postponed due to the nationwide #EndSARS protest.

On October 2020, Nigerian soldiers opened fire on unarmed protesters at the Lekki toll gate in Lagos, Nigeria.

But the Nigerian Army has denied that it used force that Tuesday night. The Defence Headquarters labeled videos posted on social media photoshopped.

This is despite discoveries of bullets and spent casings. Some collections have been displayed by DJ Switch whose Instagram live broadcast from the scene hit over 160,000 views.

The Atlantic Council’s Digital Forensic Research Lab (DFRLab) has stated that images and footages showing the charge by military personnel are not fake.

Within 24 hours, America was silent amid global outrage. It was usual for a country with a strong foreign policy. The State Department reacted on October 22, two days after the incident.

The United States thoroughly studied the shooting of End SARS protestors before issuing a reaction on the vicious attack.

Secretary of State Mike Pompeo denounced the episode and called for the prosecution of officers and men involved in the shooting.
