Thank you all. Over heating when the A/C is turned on is resolved!

Solution: Took out the radiator from the Car with the help of a mechanic to a car wash. After the thorough washing, the radiator was fixed and issue resolved!!

It is a little above middle with ac running and hot weather is normal.
The only thing that should be recommended is replacing your coolant with new recommended type.

Anything apart from a fresh coolant will cause other problems. You have done the right thing by washing the cooling fins, both of this is part of regular maintenance.
Keep things simple, don't go down that expensive road, it is good you are watching your thermostat but it is only bad when you approach the red marks

Hi Sultaan, if the temperature runs a little bit above the middle mark, the ac begins to blow hot starting from the rear vents.

Hello OP the following is the cause of your car overheating each time you on your AC. It requires sequential troubleshooting:

1. The direction of fan flow - check if the fan is still force draft i.e blowing air across the radiation. It should be clockwise direction - the same principle with standing fans. Also, check the blade angle if it is still okay.

2. Check your water pump if it is still functional or worn.

3. Check your thermostat if is stuck. I once had the same issue which thermostat was part of the root cause. You can check yourself by removing the thermostat and put it in boiled water. If it opens then is still okay, if it doesn't then the spring is damaged; change it.

4. Check the radiator for leakage and blockage.

5. Check for possible leakage from the connecting hoses.

6. Check also possible leakage from the condenser

7. Check if your car is using the right compressor. It might be of higher capacity which definitely will overheat the car.

8. Function test the top gasket if is still okay. You can check by feeling the radiator with water while the engine is running (Not when the engine is hot oh!). If it bubbles like continuously then definitely, the top gasket is gone; change it.

I did when the temperature gets a bit abovw half mark but no boiking in the engine. I washed d condenser and radiator whn I took the car to cash wash. There was a little improvement but the temoerature guage moves a bit above half mark after a ling time. It normalises when I turn off the A/C

I just got a toyota Sienna 2008 but it overheats when A/C is turned in when the weather is hot.
A mechanic and few others insisted that I get a double cell radiator that d single cell will not work in Nigeria.

Kindly help. Is it true that single cell radiator is too small for the vehicle?

Hi all,

I use Toyota Camry 1996.
When I put it in any gear I don't hear any clicking sound and it does not move.

Now I observe that the gear lever moves to any gear without depressing the brake.

The car is automatic and also engine oil light does not come up when I turn the key to on position though from the dip stick it appears it is pumping oil. Where is the fuse for the engine oil light?
Can someone offer help please?

My Toyota Camry 2004 shorts engine oil till half after convering 2500km instead of the specified 5000km. Is this normal of this car.

Your scan result is not so clear. Would you mind re running that scan again.

The scan says
1. Knock sensor error
2. Idle air control valve (p0550)
3. Coolant temp sensor issue(p0115 )
4. Camshafts sensor issue (p0325)
5. Intake air temerature issur (p0110)

My toyota camry 1996 does not spees past 80km/hr no matter how hard I accelerate.
Vertices does not shake and gear changes normally.

I have 2 hoses going to the rear wheel of my toyota camry 1996.
One of the hose is brake hose but I do not know the Function of the other house.

This other hose is broken at the rear wheel. I would like to know the function and effect of this hose on the drivable of the car.

My power steering is leaking oil also the steering moves freely before it turns the tyre(like that of molue bus (lol)).
If I decide to reckit the steering, will it eliminate the free turn of the steering before it turns the tyre or the solution is to replace the steering rack?

You should never adjust the screws it will only cause more problems you cab try to return it to original position and scan your car.don't do guess work

I don't know what you call normal adjustments, but everything you said is a classic symptom of vacuum leak or clogged IAC on the throttle body, when you say idles at 1200 it is either a frayed throttle cable or some quack adjusted the idle speed

Ok I will check and get back on your recommendations.
I think it has to do with clogged I AC on the throttle body. I checked but I did not see any leak.
By normal adjustment, I meant increasing d idle or reducing it at d idle screw in front of throttle.
All was fine few days back when I wanted to park I just observed d high idle. No one worked on it prior to this symptoms.

Thx bro but none of these is d issue as all is intact. Throttle closes fully. When I out in gear d rpm moves from 1000 to 1200 and d impact is much on d engine hood as a loud noise is heard. All mounting r fine though

Pls help! Toyota camry 1996 idles fluctuates on its own. When I press the brakes it idles to 1200 rpm. When I releases d brake, it speeds and I force press the brakes. Normal adjustment couldn't fix this. What else can I do please.

Pls note that this happens suddenly when I packed from a small ride. No work was done on the vehicle prior to this.

Thanks will get this checked in 2 days. I actually got a fan fixed and the rewire said he was putting one on relay and the other directly incase d relay fails. However I never thought this could be a reason as he did not touch the engine. Will check this and get back. Thanks for the tips.

Thanks guys for your assistance. D rewire removed d cable he connected toward d engine side close to the ignition and connected it to the fuse box and problem solved. Thanks alot.

Your car is suffering from Pre-ignition issues which means the ignition of the fuel/air charge from an extremely heated source prior to the spark plug firing. Pre-ignition may be caused by some other ignition source such as an overheated spark plug tip, carbon deposits in the combustion chamber and, rarely, a burned exhaust valve; all act as a glow plug to ignite the charge.

Your injector nozzles may also be bad and dripping fuel into the combustion chamber after switching off the engine. Have these checked or changed as well.

Thank, I will pay attention to these also as I need to get thus issue sorted out. As I do n8tification know the negative effect all these can have on d engine.
