Hi house, please what is the AIP process for? what are the "ToDo's" once an AIP is gotten?
Thanks for helping smiley
TravelRe: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 17 by davo99: 9:18pm On Dec 03, 2020
1. Yes, an IELTS result is valid for about 2 years for CIC.
2. This depends on the course you're studying, as the competitiveness differs from course to course for both UG and PG, but if you already have a UG, I think a PG will be better in VO's eyes for "Career progression", hence gives you a better chance.
3. The NSE route might be best for you, read this thread, the last 50 pages pretty much sums everything up with repetition, also start building up your bank account, so the money accumulates over a few months before getting you "MyBankStatement" Doc. So you'd basically put all the normal document along side the NSE requirements. Other ppl here would have better tips to share though, so keep asking. Success in your application.
Bawsse:
I know it might sound like a stupid question and like I'm pulling everyone back but please I really need help....

I have some questions :
1.I wrote my ielts test in May last year, is it still valid?
2. Which is best and easier to get an undergrad course or postgrad?
3. How do I start processing my applications myself... I had an overall of 8 in ielts... I don't want the result to waste lol

Thanks in advance

TravelRe: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 17 by davo99: 9:46am On Dec 03, 2020
oh okay, Thanks a lot.
iampaulsmith:
I got a mail when the eligibility review started on my application. I can’t say if it was the same for others. Who knows it might just appear on your GCkey.
TravelRe: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 17 by davo99:
An update/tracking diary on my application.
Applied Nov. 3rd
Biometrics done: Nov. 13th
Did upfront Medical: Nov. 19th
Medicals updated as Passed: Nov. 27th
Biometrics updated to completed: Nov. 30th.
So it currently says my Background check is being processed.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
A question though, do we get to get an email when the background check is updated and eligibility review starts? Or are they done side by side and get completed together? **Ans. for me: Never got a mail, it just changed on the portal
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Finally, I decided to send webforms and mails to Beijing & Nairobi asking that my application be processed via NSE route, then I attached the MyBankStatement and IELTS Academic documents. (Note: I did not get the NSE invite mail, so I just basically tried for trying sake since I have the docs)
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Update**
Dec 3rd, 9pm ish, Logged into CIC to see that the eligibility review has started. It was not there earlier today as at 5pm and I also did not get any mail notification for this update.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Update***
Dec 7th, sent a webform (requesting NSE & attaching extra supporting documents) to Nairobi and sent same content in mails to Nairobi, Lagos and Beijing.
Dec 8th, got something that looks like a ghost update on the portal.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Update****Day 14 of Eligibility review.
Dec 16th, sent 5 mails (Nairobi, Pretoria, Lagos...etc) & 1 webform to London containing my NSE documents. At this point almost all November
applicants have gotten the NSE request but I am yet to get, I take it that it likely means they have seen that I have the requested documents so no need to ask for it.

Hi, I will strongly advice you do your medicals at Qlife, it's currently cheaper and organized (from my experience & others). For Police report, you can get this done at Alagbon. The price was mentioned in a past thread, I can give you a contact there to call, he was quite helpful for mine.
West0099:
Please can someone help me on the medicals aspect pls i did my biometric last month want to do the medicals and police report all upfront.
TravelRe: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 17 by davo99: 2:17pm On Dec 02, 2020
You should choose "Send to embassy", typically, it should even show "Canadian Embassy" as an option. While either way works, I will advice you do it on your laptop instead of your phone app, because at the end you will need to download the ticket document, downloading and finding files say on an iPhone can be difficult.
recxa:
Hi. Thanks for your reply. I do have a question though. Do I click "Send to embassy" on my mobile banking and click Canada? or send to third party (when we did this, we selected Send to GTB)
TravelRe: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 17 by davo99: 2:00pm On Dec 02, 2020
Yes, you are meant to submit that. Using the ticket number & Passcode IRCC would log on at their end and view the full statement. That's basically how the MyBankStatement process works. It cuts out the delay involved in manually reaching out to your bank to verify the bank statement document you would have sent normally.
recxa:
Can someone explain this Mybankstatement to me please!! They only sent ticket number and passcode to my dad. Is this what we're meant to submithuhhuhhuhhuhhuhhuhhuhhuhhuhhuhhuhhuh?

Hi @Time2soar has the biometrics dropped yet? mine is still yet to rreflect
Time2soar:
Thank you, since you have done yours it will reflect, it is just a matter of time. I just wonder why mine has not dropped
TravelRe: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 17 by davo99: 1:32am On Nov 23, 2020
Thanks a lot, I will do that then. I don't know how to direct the webform to a particular country (e.g. Kenya, like people say they did) though. Please anyone with a link on how to?
Time2soar:
if you have all the requirement for NSE, did you submit them with your application, if not please submit them immediately through web form, it will make your application decision fast and approval more likely
TravelRe: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 17 by davo99: 12:08am On Nov 23, 2020
Oh wow.. I submitted my own too on the same date (6th Nov.) got Bio-letter on the 10th, did it on 13th Nov, and till today it is yet to reflect.
I hope yours drops asap.
Time2soar:
Please house, I submitted my application on the 6th of November for winter 2021, first time applicant to Canada and up till now I have not received biometrics collection letter. Has anyone experience this situation before. My profile keep reading we do not need your fingerprints, we will send you a message if this changes. I have sent webform and email to both Lagos and Nairobi office but nothing has changed.

By the way, I submitted for my wife as accompanying spouse together with mine on the 6th and my wife biometrics collection letter came on the 9th of November, she did it that same date and it reflected immediately in her account as completed but mine is still saying we do not need your fingerprints ... What could be the reason for this. Thank you

TravelRe: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 17 by davo99: 11:21pm On Nov 18, 2020
Hi Guys, please anyone here that submitted SP application this November? Also please how long does it take for the biometrics submission to reflect on the application portal? Thank you smiley
TravelRe: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 17 by davo99: 11:14pm On Nov 16, 2020
Hi guys smiley

Newbie here, thanks a lot to everyone contributing, reading here as been quite helpful.
I submitted on the 6th November, got biometrics request on the 11th, did it @VFS Lagos on 13th.

Now my question is there a timeline for how long the biometrics will reflect on my portal (if there's anything like that). I just want to know what to expect/do next. Right now, I don't even know what my status is exactly.

Thanks a lot in advance for helping.
