Chekitaut: Let me help u, what is the size of decking? i will give you new marine board full sheet @ half price then take away after use. No cutting, 4nails on each board. you get wood 4 beam from 1x12 you buy.
Wood is difficult in market now. i doubt if u will see only if you hv a construction site near you, Carpenter will delay service if he is to bring wood & you will hv to buy damper proof to get good result.
You will need 62 flat sheet of marine board. Size is 6.5metres wife and length is 29metres. That's 190sqm approximately |

mufutau55: You need to compare the price option... if thevrented wood is much cheaper then go for it. I have used rented wood for my decking before and I saved plenty money... after decking the only time you may need some woods is during lintel, and that should not much. So on purchasing, you will have much unused planks laying everywhere. So do the price comparison.
Hajji M. Thank you so much. That's my line of thought. They gave me an outrageous bill of N550,000 for planks only for decking 29m* 6.5m floor slab. This exclude Carpenter's labour, iron bender, engineer's supervision cost, plumbing, and electricals in the decking. Hence, the bill for only decking, excluding Cement, reinforcement, sand and granite came to N1.5m. I told them, I will never spend N550,000 on planks that cant be used for kitchen cabinet or doors. Never. I will rather rent all for between 50,000 to 100,000 than waste almost 600k. |

Good morning all.
I'm asking if one can get planks to rent/hire for decking and upper floor columns, in view of the fact that buying planks that would not be useful later would only add to expenses?
Will appreciate assistance and response |

Please I need your advice on how I can negotiate this. It's too much. Renegotiate. I'm paying ₦120k for Ground Slab(German floor casting) and my building is 29mx6.5m on the ground floor. gordonbarrett: Flat roof (low pitch roof) is much more affordable. You would save a lot of cash from wood and the roofing sheet. It is also very durable, just like any roof type the is properly done. You can enhance the beauty by using fibercement fascia and soffit. My project is at roof level, and that's the option am going for. Here's what was designed for me and I really love the mono pitch

But ideally it means an apartment that has within in a living room, a bedroom, a kitchen and toilet 2. Self contain: is what they call 'Room self'. It means a Single room with just kitchen and toilet therein, no living room. |
Properties › Re: How Many 9" Blocks Are Required To Fence A 60ft By 120 Ft Plot? by davodyguy: 2:43pm On May 24, 2020 |
struguru: 120" is about 37m 60" is about 18m
Perimeter of building = 2 x (37+18) = 110m Subtract the portion occupied by the gate (Assume a single 3m wide gate) New perimeter = 107m
Assuming you need 3 layers of block below ground (0.25x3=0.75m) and 2 meters above ground, that will be a total height of 2.75m height of block wall. Therefore, area of fencing = 107m x 2.75m = 294.25 sq.m.
A single block is approx 0.45m x 0.25m = 0.1125sq.m
Thus, number of blocks needed = 294.25/0.1125 = 2616 blocks. You can add 10% to that for blocks that may break during the purchase and any other contingencies. So 2800 blocks is a fair estimate.
The foundation of the blocks is also important. You will need at least (300 x 0.15 x 0. 675 =) 31cu.m of mass concrete for that.
Hope this helps.
 Nice one |

This is good.
Some weeks ago, the Health Minister said it cost ₦10,000 to carryout a test for COVID-19 in Nigeria.
Yesterday 21/5/2020 the commissioner for Health in Lagos State, Prof Akin Abayomi said test cost the Lagos State government between ₦40,000 to ₦50,000 meaning for the 16,000 test they claimed has been carried out cost them ₦800,000,000. This leaves many wondering how much the state would claim it cost to treat and feed those at the isolation centres.
If Care's not taken, COVID-19 may even cost close to 10% of annual budget in Lagos, if almost ₦1 billion has been expended on testing alone this far.
It is well with Nigeria and Lagos State under those in charge |
