Awolowo was responsible for much of the progressive social legislation that has made Nigeria a modern nation.[2] Awolowo was the first Leader of Government Business and Minister of Local Government and Finance, and first Premier of the Western Region under Nigeria's parliamentary system, from 1952 to 1959. He was the official Leader of the Opposition in the federal parliament to the Balewa government from 1959 to 1963
See the above and tell me if any leader dead or living that comes close to Awo
thatigboman: Frood: Esther why did u treat me like that last night? Esther : Oga you are forcing the whole thing, u can't just keep squeezing my boobs like that. Frood: You know big brother called me and warn me, it looks like am harassing you sexually. Esther : Ofcoz that is wat u did, u were trying to force it. Frood: But you are my girl na, so I deserve to get it from you. Esther : Point of correction, am not your girl and I will never be, stop forcing it coz I can't see myself loving you..I still love Nelson Frood.:
koolpal: konji the slayer of great of men has caught up with frodd...Seyi village people are fighting for him.
There's what's called ṣiṣe ṣiṣe in Yoruba The day you insult Ìrókò tree is not the day it will strike you. Ìrókò will allow you forget and strike when you least expect
fitzmayowa: His ass was half exposed when Esther yanked the duvet off him, that was even before the harassment play fight went deep...
I don't think he should be disqualified though, a strike and stern warning should suffice to serve as a lesson to HMs, useless guy that wants to put his family to shame...
This is the same guy that was hailed as a hero for insulting Seyi. Yet Seyi had slept on same bed with Esther in HOH's room and now sleeping with Venita in same room, without attempting to Sexually harass anyone.
Bridget95: This chest beating is becoming something else That he provided electricity, modern fast running rail system like the ones in Japan or that he provided a world class economy? A man that dwelt in extreme pains because of Ziks political success, he cried bitterly when Zik beat him to become Nigeria's first president. That pain made him champion wicked genocidal policies of extreme war crimes that resulted to starving women and children to death in the Nigerian civil war.
Blame the highlighted on Ojuiku, whose greed and hunger for power led him to start a war he knew he would never win. Pa Awolowo as an economist implemented policies that saved NIGERIA. If Ojuiku had succeeded, I'm sure Olúwa Seun Osewa may not have created Nairaland for Nigerians, the platform which you're posting this, and there's wouldn't have been Big Brother Nigeria that you all are watching now.
Can you see how he's the father of Modern Nigeria? BBNAIJA is happening because Pa Awo implemented policies that saved Nigeria. But your ZiK was silent from 1967-1970 that no one knew the side he belonged to.
sanusi44z: Tacha didn't wish Joe or eat his cake, they call it realness. If this is Seyi, they will say he is arrogant and they would have been cursing his entire generation by now. Abeg where Sir Dee since?
It's a known fact the irritating side of Seyi is what every human being created by God can have. Meaning Cockiness, feeling entitled etc. CeCe did that for 90 days last season, Tacha saying, she's the characteristics of a winner bla bla bla. All is part of being Cocky like Seyi can be. But why Seyi's case is so pronounced is the last name.
Of course, we get into arguments sometimes on the road while driving, that people ask questions, 'why are you talking to me like this'? Do you know who I am? Many if us have done that and would still do. In fact at some parties, overzealous security men can tell you not to enter a party venue if you forgot your Invitation Card at home. It's normal if you're a strong personality to tell them Please respect me and not push me around, Do you know who I am?
Sometimes we sound same way when talking to rude customer service representative, or those at the bank treating you in a way you don't like. These things are normal and many of those criticizing him would do it today on their way to church or even in the church if the ushers says they can't sit of some seats in the church
But in Seyi's case, if he talks the other party with low self-esteem will see it as bragging and quickly mention his last/family. Whatever he does would attract attention either good or bad. Some already criticizing him for telling house mates to gather at the lounge outside to celebrate Joe, whereas that the normal house tradition for other HM to celebrate with the celebrant
fairfora: Hmmm. Another guy who could make one reminisce the events of yester years.waa gbayi. I used to think virtually everyone here was born in the 90s the way they voice their opinions on NL at times. I remember a day PA awo came to my town with PA ajasin to campaign and all the members of UPN wore a white t-shirt with Awo's picture boldly printed on it. The quality of the light wooled t-shirt was second to none. Ah, naija don turn to something else now, comparing lives in those days with what's obtainable nowadays.
My Dad's Campaign poster is in his Library somewhere in Ogun. It was printed in 1978 during campaign for Senate, which he won.
I wouldn't want to mention my Last name.
There are many things that these kids don't know. Late Baba Abraham Adesanya was a strong Ally with my father and they held several meetings that lead to the birth of AD (Alliance For Democracy) in 1998.
I wonder why kids who were not born when Shagari ruled can now know history more than some of us that were alive to see things ourselves.
AFONJACOW: after killing igbos dream, confiscated all their properties to establish radio stations for his propaganda and hate messages, Las las he drank rat poison come kill himself
Another kid spotted. Some of you were told lies by your parents and village elders.
Stop following bandwagon, it wouldn't help. When they tell you things, try to verify if it's true or not. You're following Kanu up and down. Since he was granted bail and jumped bail, has he ever returned to Nigeria?
Let me educate you.
Papa Awolowo Established the first TV station in Nigeria and Tropical Africa in 1959, a year before we gained Independence and Zik was a ceremonial president.
Biafra war started 8 years after.
From your logic, How could Pa Awolowo have used money from 1967 war to establish a station in 1959? Does that make any sense to you? Did he first went to the future and obtained monies from the Igbos and reversed back to 1959? You're abusing logic. It's dangerous replying you. Chai
I beg you IPOB kids to stop this self destruction path you're threading. It will lead to no where.
See how you distorted facts? All you needed to do was to research via the Internet and not believe those fake elders using you guys as tools
fergie001: I read your posts as someone who is travelled and knowledgeable, and support Seyi who is from your Ikenne clan....
But to subject yourself with low-lifes with tribal bashing is something someone like you should be bigger than.
It's an advise....avoid it..
You're right and I thank you.
I stopped myself from visiting the politics section on order to avoid these temptations, but since this BBN started, I can't stand the insult to Papa Awolowo.
Yea, I say it boldly, I'm related to the Awolowo family 'politically'
Papa Awolowo and my late father were close and founded UPN together. So I was not young when Shagari became president, that I witnessed party meetings in my Father's house at 1004 estate in VI, used as official quarters for NASS members.
I know about the history of this country and we need to correct some of these kids that were born in the 1990s to learn before talking trash
LegendHero: You Igbos are something else, why suddenly attack the guy based on ethnicity.
Let me respond to your claim about alliance with the north.
Azikwe formed a government with the north (Balewa) by betraying the south.
The Igbos murdered Akintola and other Yoruba leaders in 1966 coup, they betrayed the south.
Alex Ekwueme formed a government with the north (Shagari) by betraying the south.
The Igbos voted Yar’adua in 2007 by betraying their own (Orji Kalu) for the Fulani and Inturn betraying the south.
Awolowo remained in the opposition up to his death and the Igbos made sure they allied with the northerners at the expense of the south, did you ever see the Yorubas termed them betrayals?
You same people voted for Atiku a Fulani man and you have the audacity to blame the Yorubas for voting Buhari the same Fulani? Such a depravity.
Awolowo is greater that any Igbo dead or alive, if you’re not happy with that, you can go to Hades.
These guys needs to be schooled about History.
Their parents and Village elders sold lies to them and since they're mostly millennials, they don't know what happened in the 60s
AFONJACOW: he nag like a woman... Not surprise Awo blood will never hide it self, I heard he wanted to commit suicide like his grandpa
We all know, this hatred for Seyi by the Igbo house mates is as a result of you Igbos being pained that Pa Awolowo killed the Biafra Dream, leading to Ojuiku running to exile, after causing the death of millions.
Awolowo established the first ever television Station in Nigeria and the entire tropical Africa.
Go and kill yourself that the man was the father of modern Nigeria

Dudeladude: I showed this message to my landlord and he was so furious.. he told me to pack out of his house this night. OP thank you for making me homeless with this information.
Local man is amazed by the action of your landlord
Gistvic: BBNaija housemate, Ike tells Frodd about Seyi's bossy attitude after alcohol fight. Gistvic Reports.
Frodd said he was really disrespected for Seyi to talk about his lineage which he loves doing.
Who else noticed Ike has been staying away from argument since he has been giving 2 strikes.
Ike said:
GISTVIC recalls, Seyi and Frodd almost got into a fight after exchanging words with each other because of the inability to share the alcohol Biggie gifted the housemates.
amehrada: Gedoni, Tacha and even Sir Dee hailing Ike for completing that tough puzzle on his own and arranging a lil bit in another puzzle before they were buzzed out. They were saying something about how him being a mathematician helped.
Gedoni said he was rooting for either Tacha or Sir Dee's team to win. He didn't want that third team to win but he later relaxed when he realised that two of his people are there (Esther and Seyi).
I heard, but he might be faking it since he was addressing both Sir Dee and Tacha, just to pacify them
Frank65: If u think getting endorsement is about intelligence, then u might be dumb. How intelligent was Nina? Do u know how many endorsements she has?
You get endorsement for different reasons and the perspective of the brand.
Brands promoting eye lashes, or beauty products, doesn't need intelligent people, they need someone pretty and maybe 'olosho'
For energy drink, you need someone like Mike, Elo and Omashola
For entrepreneurship programs, you need brainy people like Venita, Seyi etc
