Maymai:It's practically same thing. Check the prices. I'll send you a link for Emirates shortly... I applied through them. Mine is a Transit and I'm paying ₦3800 |
Maymai:It's good. and you can also try Simgapore after UAE. We are going for a conference in Auckland, but some of my colleagues were denied Visa on virgin passports. If they had even been to SA or UAE, it would have been better. If she can do both countries within the next 6 months, getting UK, US and Canada may not be difficult |
charlesELIKIBA:Chai, how i wish Oyinbo can be bribed. My Emirates flight to Auckland is restricted to 25Kg and you can't bribe Oyinbo |
Maymai:One of the reasons you should pick Emirates is because they are the only airline that flies directly to Dubai without Stopover in any other country. It is also safe but may be expensive. You can also apply for 14days Visa if you have a zenith bank account with access to online details |
Yawn |
Mynd44:I have been trading with Chinese companies for a long time and I was opportuned to visit HongKong in 2015( A state controlled by China) They are doing very well more than Nigeria. The recent protests is due to overbearing and not because of twitter or Facebook issue, but politics. China took away Whatsapp and gave them WeChat. Don't compare things that are not related. Just UAE that is 7 hours away from Lagos, there are so many many restrictions as regard contents on both Satellite and Terrestrial TV Your are mod here and there are about rules we must adhere to before posting. Please Observe The Following Rules: (skip)I hope you understand. It's not fight, but just clarifying issues with ourselves |
Pacesetter123:Thanks for commenting. let me clarify something. NBC is the regulator and knows the limit for all broadcasters. As i posited earlier, the first edition of BBA in 2004 was terrible. They were having live sex. Then it was called MNET and they put cameras in the bathroom that they show shower hour in the morning and nights. The senate then under Ken Nnamani( I hope i got the name correctly) made out cry and NBC stepped and forced MNET SA to limit cameras to scenes that doesn't show shower hour anymore. In order not to lose money and to satisfy sexual perverts, MNET launched the online platform that are to be subscribed to called BBA VIP. all the nede scenes are sent there daily and was no longer aired on live TV up to 2014 that they stopped BBA. If you can recall, that since the return of BBN in 2017, they dont have cameras in the bathroom anymore due to strict conditions in the industry they operate in. In this case, FG went to report to the regulator, just same way you can report MTN to NCC. NBC would now check operational guidelines to see if there is any infraction. If there is infraction, NBC would write DSTV Nigeria to stop showing those images of Gedoni and Khaffi, or Mercy and Ike when they want to act naughty. If DSTV then fails to comply, they can be sanctioned accordingly. If you watch Africa Magic, do you know that they censor most of the movies they show us? Especially AM yoruba. When the actors are cursing, they mute their voices, also when translating, the block words like 'God and Jesus' despite showing rate 16 or 18. Why are they doing that, after all the programme is rated 18, why censoring? This is Nigeria and the regulator is NBC that told them any channel you want to broadcast within our space, you must only do XYZ and not ABC. On the other issue, they are not related. It is also expected that the NCAC will represent the 2008 Nudity Bill titled ‘A Bill for an Act to punish and prohibit nudity, sexual intimidation and other-related offences in Nigeria,' sponsored by the former chairperson, Senate Committee on Women and Youth, Eme Ekaette. This has more to do with what Tekno was caught doing and all our oloshos that stay in Allen and Surulere, wearing terrible body revealing clothes and not TV shows. NBC is for contents on radio and TV and not necessarily affected by this bill. One of the guidelines in broadcasting is to warn viewers before showing graphic contents and there are some images that broadcasters can be sanctioned for if they show. |
Nice, I would comment in full on this subject |
Praizenews:Chai. This kind of news early in the morning |
zeromeridian:It has never been a source of credible news before. He's known to plagiarize known news agencies and add 'Igbere tv reports' |
slickbak:Myndd44 is my friend and I know he's just trying to be mischievious, knwoing fully well that DSTV Nigeria is registred with CAC and subject to all laws in the country they're operating. The first Edition of BBA was staged in 2004 when OBJ was the president. Nigeria was represented by Bayo. There was an outcry in the Senate that people were having live sex, which is try. The first edition was not censored at all. The Senate then was brutal and DSTV SA had to adjust and stopped showing nude scenes and shower hour, just to comply with the query they were issued. From them, they now require people to subscribe for BBA VIP, where they are allowed access to nude contents by paying extra. They did this till the last edition of the show in 2014 that featured Tayo Faniran. I am trying to educate him that NBC can indeed sanction any broadcaster operating in Nigeria, whether on DTT or satellite platform. |
Myndd44, I've known you since 2011 before you became a mod in the Religion section and by your antecdedent, you seldom argue pointlessly. Dont ask me more, cos I wouldn't reveal too much about those days, since I abandoned the old handle due to password loss ![]() Mynd44:That's why I want you to learn. They may Have reported like 200 times and nothing may have been done. This topic says FG just made complaints about it to NBC. Just calm down and wait for the Outcome. How many times have members complained about you of being unfair to them or called you a Yoruba bigot? (mind, I am Yoruba too) Many times. But Seun is yet to axe you cause he may have found you not to have erred or may he did and chose not to act Mynd44:It is relevant cause you're attempting to be deliberately mischievous. Mynd44:I'll take this that you don't have answers. ![]() Mynd44:Let the NBC conclude the investigation. If after investigation the show is found to not have erred, so be it. Coza Pastor has been accused of Rape. It's an allegation until a proper court of law declares him guilty. You can't claim they have not or have, except if you want to claim you know all the NBC laws. If you do, them I'm willing to learn from you about the NBC laws |
Mynd44:Stop exhibiting ignorance on this subject. 1. You are not the one to decide if they have erred or not, that's why NBC is the regulator 2. You are a moderator here and Seun gave you the power to sanction, which i'm sure you're very happy to use and have used many times, same way NBC is empowered by Section 1 of the National Broadcasting Commission Act, Cap. NII, laws of the Federation, 2004 and vested with the responsibilities of, amongst other things, regulating and controlling the broadcasting Industry in Nigeria. 3. That consumer pay for the service doesn't mean the regulator can not sanction the service provider. 4. We pay MTN heavily for Data and airtime top up, but when they're found guilty, they were sanctioned appropriately. For the umpteenth time, whether cable or terrestrial, whether Paytv or FTA, the broadcast organization of any country can ban and sanction any service provider in that industry. Just to correct anther erroneous notion that you have( you've exhibited a handful already) I want BBNaija. Hence, I am not pissed by the show. In fact i'm rooting for Seyi. I hope you can correct your erroneous position, which is what i'm trying to educate you on and not whether the show is good bad. It's about the topic whether NBC can sanction Cable Tv operators or not |
oyatz:I am ready for him. he's been spewing trash since. Below are some of the lies he told 1. That MKO Abiola was violent 2. That Ken Saro WIwa was violent 3. That Omoyele Sowore was also Violent 4. That a certain Oba told Yorubas to attack Igbos violently, in order to stop them from voting He's a kid spewing trash since, but haven't provided one single evidence to back up his claim. |
Mynd44:Study the NBC laws. They have jurisdiction over cable. They can sack DSTV, GOTV and even Star times if they err. The Commission's responsibilities include advising the federal government, on the implementation of the National Mass Communication Policy, with particular reference to broadcasting, as well as licensing Cable, DTH, and all terrestrial radio and television services.Just to clarify that part for you. If they err, they can be sacked at any time |
Mynd44:It would work Read about broadcasting. Even if it is cable, DSTV Nigeria is registered as a Limited Liability and subject to the laws of broadcasting. They can restrict the broadcast from being viewed in Nigeria. In UAE, some sites are blocked from being accessed within the country, likewise some channels are also blocked from being viewed even on cable in some countries. Just study broadcasting code well and also about satellite TV. GOTV is operating on DTT and can be restricted. |
Elliot2:You claimed the Oba in Yoruba land ordered that the Igbos should be violently attacked and be disenfranchised. I've asked you to provide evidence of when the Oba said so. You're still looking for the evidence. Why did you have to lie? Can you please provide the link to where the Oba instructed that Igbos be attacked violently? You've lied that MKO Abiola, Ken Saro Wiwa and Omoyele Sowore were violent, can you provide evidence? Elliot2:Can you name the Oba that ordered this claim you made? |
Elliot2:You need to learn. Was there war in Nigeria in 1966? Who used violence in 1967 to attack Nigeria? Did he succeed in his attempt to force Biafra? 3 questions for you |
Elliot2:No. I believe you are a millenial, reason you're spewing these things. Nigeria was one as at 1966. Ojukwu wanted to split the country using violence, and he failed. One man took arms against his nation and was defeated in his own game |
stayreal:Mumu, what are you waiting for? Today is Monday, why can't you take up arms and go to Aso Rock to demand Buhari resign from office? |
jaybeez:A certain Igbo boy on this thread has been justifying the action and claiming violence is the best. I've asked him to show me how violence has helo them since 1967. He's discombobulated and still looking for evidence |
Elliot2:Stop acting childish. You said a Yoruba Oba ordered that the Igbos should be violently attacked and disenfranchised. Can you name that Oba that emphatically called for the Igbos to be violently attacked? Or you just made it up out of your imagination? Be a man and show me that Oba that ordered violence against igbo |
Elliot2:I didn't push your hand to make false claims that Sowore was violent. I'm asking you to show me what violence has achieved in Nigeria in a positive way, either genuine struggle or agitation. Biafra failed in 1967 Kanu's back door approach has also failed. Give me two examples of how violence has helped the igbo |
Elliot2:Stop the rhetorics and tell me what efforts you've made in championing the violence you told us worked in Russia. I'm told you the civil actions I've taken. Telling your part. I've engaged the MDAs at different level. What efforts have you made in promoting violence and how have they changed anything? |
Elliot2:Which year was this call made? Where were the Igbos attacked in line with the oba's directive? I need facts please and empirical proof of Igbos being attacked during the polls I'm waiting |
Elliot2:Are you sure you understand what you're saying? You said they 'sort non peaceful protest' Are you for real? Non peaceful means violence. Can you tell me the Violent protests led by the trio you mentioned? Like seriously MKO 'sort non peaceful protest'? Sowore was also non peaceful? It's best you go to bed |
Elliot2:I publish articles and send correspondence to different MDAs at both local, state and federal levels of government. Some of what we suggest are being implemented. Now you've have to me what efforts you're making to ensure your violence is pronounced and if you would be willing to lead a violent protest to force Buhari to implement good policies |
Elliot2:How has violence helped you. Civility helped me and I'm still benefitting from being Civil. The country is the poverty capital of the world. Why can't you be a little pissed about that and not get yourself worked up for matter that is simply between a supposed representative and his paymasters?I believe in Nigeria and I have no need to encourage people to be violent. I can support peaceful demonstration, but not violence. |
Elliot2:Stop comparing dream with death. Issue for discourse is Kanu's instruction. Yoruba would not heed such a senseless talk to be violent to attack politicians. That's the topic for discourse. |
Elliot2:Don't go low, it would only make you ridiculous Igbos were killed in their numbers in the north in 1945,and also in 1953 by the north due to altercations with the south west. What was their offence in those incidences? Does those deaths equally break your heart? Were they violent to have deserved such brutal barbarism?I have no idea how true what you're saying is. And if at all what you're saying isn't a fabrication, has that stopped Igbos from investing massively in the north? Are they not still living freely in the North? So if the aim of those that killed the Igbo was to chase them away from the north violently, hasn't it failed woefully like the civil war? For your information, violence have solved a lot of injustices throughout history. Powerful dynasties and kingdoms that became toxic have been toppled. It stopped the Soviet union from advancing;it helped Ghana,e.t.c. There can never be peace where there is no justice.Let's even pretend that violence did work in the countries you mentioned. How has violence helped any struggle in Nigeria? 1967-1970 violence failed IPOB led by Kanu failed, leading to Kanu's arrest and sending to prison until he jumped bail, are the Igbos not still part of NIGERIA as I type this post? Niger Delta Militants at some points were saying they would cripple the country economic blablabla. They were given $10million to shut up and from 2016 to date, they're yet to cripple the economy. Boko Haram want to establish caliphate in Nigeria. Since 2009 have they been able to do that with their violence? BTW, since you're in support of violence, can you please visit Aso Rock tomorrow and violently force Biafra? If you can take it by force (afterall only the violent take it by force) I'll respect you and believe violence can work in Nigeria. |
IYGEAL:Don't try to use mesh for KU. It's waste of time and efforts. Mesh strictly for C band. Here's how it works. Those hollow would make 240CM perform the work as 180cm on KU band |
